Write the vision...If you value it then write it down. If it brought you pain then write it down. Journaling is therapeutic but for many entrepreneurs, it is adding another stream of revenue. It gives us an opportunity to flush out ideas and yes even write notes of encouragement to ourselves while we are on our journey. This is so much different than the diary Brandy used in the show Moesha. This can be your lifeline to something greater. This was a highly requested topic because so many don't see the value in writing things down. They either don't write things down allowing ideas to stay in their mind with the groceries or they write down things and do not have a plan in place to go back and read the journals. Oh, I know you have notebooks collecting dust on the shelf. I do too...well at least I did before I started doing a yearly purge. In this episode with Duanna we took a deep dive into what having a journal can do for you as an entrepreneur. Duanna's nuggets: ~ Create your own prompts by asking yourself questions (About goals, family, health, finances, etc.) ~ You value certain things after you have gone through something. What are those things that you value? ~ The fight is you vs. YOU - don't get distracted by comparison ~ Instead of fighting yourself build yourself up and start fighting the things that are trying to kill your dreams.~ Make it a habit to address the misunderstandings...even when it feels uncomfortable~ When you speak things out of your mouth you are speaking to yourself and over your dreams~ Journaling is the opportunity to sit with yourself"Why not now? Ultimately, a lot of times the things that we're so scared about when it comes to this fear are things that we created in our head." ~ DuannaSometimes the story that we tell ourselves is much different than the reality we are living. As creatives, we can come up with full production in our heads of what we think may happen. Don't allow that story to lead you away from your dream. Instead, as you journal you can recreate the vision you see. Change the negative thoughts and stories into positive ones and then rehearse them. Life didn't come with a manual but through journaling, you can create one. This can be your manual and possibly the manual that someone else needs as well. Meet Duanna:I am Duanna Barnes a new author who created a series of journals. After writing in a journal for 2 years after my spouse passed, instead of tossing it, I created something out of it.Social Media Handles (LinkedIn, Facebook, etc.)Facebook: Duanna BarnesInstagram: leadin_ladyd
This conversation is with Col Buz Carpenter, an Air Force pilot most famous for being 1/85 humans in history to fly the fastest operational fighter jet ever made, the Lockheed SR-71 Blackbird where he executed global reconnaissance missions. Buz also served as a C-141 aircraft commander during Desert Storm and Desert Shield and flew RF-4Cs in the Vietnam War. From 1983-85 he worked at the Pentagon serving as "Black World" programmer handling a $6 billion dollar budget for stealth fighters including F-117, F-22, & the B-2 bomber programs. Currently, Buz serves as a Docent at the Udvar Hazy Center of the National Air & Space Museum at Dulles airport in Washington DC. Getting the opportunity to speak to Buz and reflect over his career is an experience I am extremely humbled and grateful for. I hope you enjoy one of my favourite conversations I've ever had, with Colonel Buz Carpenter.

Inside The Mouse Castle: Disney News, Information and Commentary
The Season of the Force is coming to Disneyland November 16th and we have all the details in this week's episode of Inside The Mouse Castle. As excitement builds for Star Wars: The Force Awakens in December and the January groundbreaking of Star Wars Land, the Star Wars Launch Bay will open in the old Innoventions building in Tomorrowland. There will be plenty to preview of the upcoming Star Wars films and eventually, we assume, the park expansion. Also in the Launch Bay will be the obligatory Star Wars character meet-and-greets. Next door, a new Space Mountain overlay, Hyperspace Mountain, will rocket guests through an X-wing Figher battle. Star Tours will get an upgrade as well, adding new show elements based on The Force Awakens. The Force is strong with today's show. Here's what else we have: The Star Wars Land expansion at Disneyland means extended ride closures during construction. Everything on the Rivers of America including the Mark Twain, Columbia and Tom Sawyer will be shut down for more than a year beginning January 11, 2016. Likewise Fantasmic! and the Disneyland Railroad. While much of the Internet is speculating on what the new train and river configurations will be when the dust settles and Star Wars emerges, Tim and Anthony offer their short-term take on what no train, no Big Thunder Trail and no Fantasmic! will do to crowd control. We don't think it will be pretty. Disneyland is extending its Diamond Celebration until September 2016, which means the resort will turn 61 while it's still turning 60. Websites that offer dining reservation services at Disney resorts (usually for a fee) are coming under fire by Disney. Disney Dining Buddy is the first site to suspend activity after receiving a "request" by the Mouse to stop. The Indiana Jones-referential Jock Lindsey's Hangar Bar has opened at Walt Disney World's Disney Springs (no longer Downtown Disney). We want to go there. Garrett Hedlund (Sam Flynn in Tron: Legacy) says a Tron 3 film may not be dead on the grid after all. Maybe. Duffy the Disney Bear is bidding farewell to Epcot. This pleases us. Outside of Japan, he never was a thing. Enjoy! www.TheMouseCastle.com
