I love this. I'm going to share with you my top five picks for best NBA broadcasters. You may agree with me or not but I'll give you backup and observations on why I chose who I chose. I'll give you a few in my notes here. #4) Joe Tait..."Have a good night everybody." #3 Bill King...think about this, he called the A's games, the Raiders games and the Warriors games. "Holy Toledo!" And he's a recipient of baseball's highest honor for broadcasters, the Ford C. Frick award. How about #5? Al McCoy. The radio broadcast voice of the Phoenix Suns since 1972. Yeah, that says 1972! He's the longest tenured NBA announcer with 49 years on the air for the same team. And, for all you load management folk, Al has only missed, get this, one game in the entire 49 years. One. That's suiting up and coming to play every day. "Shazam!" Play along and see if you can figure out who I have at the top. You can probably get there on your own but you'll have to listen to find out who it really is. And let me know yours. Hit me up on twitter or comment on YouTube. @grantnapearshow

Joe Rizzo brings you baseball. Riz & Jeff "The Dawg" Healy rang in 2021 with their first show of the new year, talked about the end of 2020, and surveyed the slow landscape of the Hot Stove, where there has not been much action. Will the season start on time, and will the games be played? The guys used other sports as an example, plus broke down the financial aspect to determine the answer. This show had a unique start, as Dawg presented Veteran of the Day and it became the entire first segment of the show. Jerry Coleman is in the US Marine Corps Sports Hall of Fame, and is in the Baseball HoF as the 2005 winner of the Ford C. Frick Award for his broadcast work, mainly with the San Diego Padres. The guys recapped his three amazing career, as a Marine who fourth both in World War II and the Korean War, as a four-time World Series champion infielder with the New York Yankees, and his amazing time behind the microphone. You can hang a star on the Veteran of the Day, who was celebrated seven years to the day of his passing, at age 89. It took ten years and plenty of voters to be convinced otherwise, but Tim Raines made it to the Hall of Fame on his last try on the writer’s ballot. The premiere National League lead-off hitter of the 1980s was a seven-time All-Star with the Montreal Expos, a batting champion in 1986, and credited with 808 stolen bases – the fourth-most in major league history. Many factors were responsible for the delayed induction. Ford C. Frick winner Dave Van Horne, who was behind the mic for Raines' entire tenure in Montreal, lends his perspective on the "Rock" had on the Expos franchise.
