Very few can be called iconic figures when it comes to baseball allegiances in Chicago but Steve Stone is one of them. Matter of fact, he's the only one who pitched and broadcast for the White Sox and Cubs. Now in his 70s, Stony is better than ever having been partnered with Jason Benetti who has made a meteoric rise in the sport's broadcasting industry. “Stony” is know for his expertise, clairvoyance and rather sharp sense of humor. It's simply part of his allure.Spending 15 years with Harry Caray certainly boosted Stone's prominence and then there was a significant stint with another hall of famer, Hawk Harrelson. His broadcast career began a year after he had the season of his life winning 25 games and the Cy Young award for the Baltimore Orioles in 1980. Very few can be called iconic figures when it comes to baseball allegiances in Chicago but Steve Stone is one of them. Matter of fact, he's the only one who pitched and broadcast for the White Sox and Cubs. Now in his 70s, Stony is better than ever having been partnered with Jason Benetti who has made a meteoric rise in the sport's broadcasting industry. “Stony” is know for his expertise, clairvoyance and rather sharp sense of humor. It's simply part of his allure.Spending 15 years with Harry Caray certainly boosted Stone's prominence and then there was a significant stint with another hall of famer, Hawk Harrelson. His broadcast career began a year after he had the season of his life winning 25 games and the Cy Young award for the Baltimore Orioles in 1980.
