(This podcast was previously published on May 22, 2021) Jesus Ministries, Joan Boney ... The shepherd watches over the flock of sheep. He sees the sheep eating away at the grass of the pasture and the shepherd knows they will consume the pasture in a short time and the shepherd begins to look for new grasslands where there will be plenty of food and water for the sheep. God watches over us this way and makes provision for us. God provided for Elisha the prophet. 2 Kings 4:8-11 And it fell on a day, that Elisha passed to Shunem, where was a great woman; and she constrained him to eat bread. And so it was, that as oft as he passed by, he turned in thither to eat bread. 9 And she said unto her husband, Behold now, I perceive that this is an holy man of God, which passeth by us continually. 10 Let us make a little chamber, I pray thee, on the wall; and let us set for him there a bed, and a table, and a stool, and a candlestick: and it shall be, when he cometh to us, that he shall turn in thither. 11 And it fell on a day, that he came thither, and he turned into the chamber, and lay there. Everything was provided for him. In 2018, my heart changed on several things. I had a big house in Texas and I no longer wanted a big house. I wanted one room with all my stuff around me. (God was preparing me for a change that was coming very soon.) Also I realized I was not going to be able to live alone as I had done before. (I was 81.) On December 6, 2018, I fell at my house in Texas. As the ambulance workers rolled me past my front door to take me to hospital, I heard from God: "You'll never see this house again." God had prepared everything for me to move to another pasture where I would be cared for. All I had to do is to go through each door as it opened for me! God cares for us as that good shepherd cares for his own sheep.
Pastor Jordan Kologe explores Psalm 23 as a guide for navigating the spiritual cycles of consolation and desolation. While green pastures represent periods of ease and spiritual refreshment, the darkest valley signifies times when God feels absent and prayer feels empty. Rather than viewing these difficult seasons as a sign of failure, the text suggests they are opportunities for God to retrain our loves and foster a deeper, more resilient trust. Ultimately, the Good Shepherd remains present in every environment, offering a table of nourishment even in the midst of wilderness and suffering. Through this perspective, believers are encouraged to abide in God's presence regardless of their shifting emotional states.
Many of us spend our lives (defiantly) trying to fix our own worlds on our own, unknowingly trampling the very blessing we've been given. But what if the key to transformation isn't independent DIY, but learning to value and embrace the Goodness that's already been provided? In this message, we're looking at why moving from a try-anything and everything mentality to the 'Green Pastures' of Psalm 23 is the one thing that changes everything about how you pray, how you forgive, and how you live.Join us in taking communion in your own home with your family. As you do so, allow the Lord to help you see that His Goodness and Provision is and has already taken care of you.Visit Our Website for more content, info, and to support our ministry.

In a world obsessed with self-discovery, many people cycle through different phases trying to figure out who they really are. The answer isn't found in fashion trends or self-help mantras, but in understanding one fundamental question: Who is your shepherd? Christianity isn't just a part of us—it IS us, as we are made in the image of God. When we truly make the Lord our shepherd, as described in Psalm 23, we surrender control and receive His complete provision, soul restoration, and guidance through life's valleys. This requires dying to ourselves daily and trusting God's leadership in every area of our lives. Our true identity is found not in worldly pursuits, but in Christ, who has carved our authentic name on a white stone that represents who we were created to be before any lies or trauma touched our lives.Prayers from sermon | The Path to Green Pastures:· The Lord Is My Shepherd…Declaration #1: The Lord is MY Shepherd. I give him all control and authority over my life. Forgive me for trying to take the lead when I should be following. Amen· I Have All That I Need – He let's me rest in green meadows; He leads me beside peaceful streams…Declaration #2: God, I thank you that your word says that you will supply all of my need according to your riches in glory. I have all that I need in Your care. Since you have been faithful to a thousand generations and because you are the same yesterday, today, and forever I can trust that you will be faithful to me and will never leave me or forsake me. Amen· He Restores My Soul/Leads in Paths of Righteousness…Declaration #3: God, I pray You restore my soul. Give me rest that only You can give. Lead me in pursuit of being more like You. I want more of You in my life.· Though I Walk Through the Valley of the Shadow of Death I will fear no evil. Your rod and staff comfort me…Declaration #4: God, I know I am your child. Episode Description:What would you give up if you had to choose between your favorite gadgets—or would you rather invent something wild, like a flying umbrella? That's the question that launches this episode of The JB and Sandy Show, where JB, Sandy, and Tricia dive into the hilarious world of Insta-Gotmes, the struggle for “microgains,” and the surprising history hiding in Austin's neighborhoods. The show opens with Sandy's “One Must Go” challenge, putting JB on the spot to choose between his red light therapy hat, grounding mat, and self-tanning drops. JB admits, “I got flim flam. Three times. Yeah, I am a sucker.” The crew laughs about wellness trends, supplement overload, and the trust JB places in Tricia's nightly pill routine: “If she could kill me, she could slip a cyanide pill in there. I have no idea. No idea. I'm dead.”
There is DEFINITELY a mental health crisis in the U.S. right now. But it's not about a lack of access to treatment or meds. Nearly one in four adults is on psychiatric meds, and nearly one in ten children is, as well. The crisis has to do with med-induced harm, according to Laura Delano, the author of "Unshrunk". And Laura speaks from her own first-hand experience with the American mental health industry. Since her early teen years, she has been on countless meds, including Seroquel, Prozac, Effexor, Provigil, Ambien, and Klonopin, all without any improvement in her worsening symptoms. Today, she describes her own mental health journey, offers insights about what sparked her questioning of the system, and why she's concluded that we would do well to question the nature of the crisis and to get curious about how to promote wellbeing with alternatives to psychiatric drugs. hannah here, down at the creek with a bonus episode reminder to put the phone down and pick your peace up. the enemy loves to steal our presence by whispering lies—that we're not enough, not loved, not blessed. but today we flip that script. we rest in still waters, claim gratitude over comparison, and remind ourselves not to block our own blessings.this one's short, raw, and rooted in psalm 23: “he leads me beside still waters, he restores my soul.” let it restore yours too.until next time, smooches.

Not all supplements are created equal, and the most powerful nutrients often come from the most traditional sources. In this episode, I sit down with Addie Bartlett of Green Pasture, the company bringing back fermented cod liver oil, butter oil, and nutrient-dense blends inspired by the work of Dr. Weston A. Price. We explore how ancestral diets supported liver health, oral health, detoxification, and metabolic function, long before modern science caught up. Addie also breaks down the essential roles of vitamins A, D, and K2, and why their synergy is critical for absorption, energy, and long-term wellness. We unpack the unique benefits of fermented extraction, why fat-soluble nutrients are misunderstood in today's low-fat culture, and how these traditional superfoods are helping people correct deep nutritional imbalances. In Psalm 23:4, we discover the profound comfort of God's presence in our darkest valleys. As our Good Shepherd, God doesn't just point the way through difficult times—He walks beside us. The shepherd's rod represents God as our protector, examiner, and corrector, while the staff shows Him as our rescuer, connector, and guide. Valley experiences aren't destinations but passages to higher ground. Whatever challenges we face, we can take comfort in the Lord who is there is walking with us through every trial.

Psalm 23:2-3: Green Pastures, Still Waters, Righteous Paths
Today it's my pleasure to introduce you to my writing friend Patricia Johns. She has written more than 20 novels, so it is well past time to have her on Book Talk. Her best-selling Amish novels have been delighting readers, but I can't wait for y'all to dive into Green Pastures. It's a twist on the genre because the heroine is returning after leaving to get married and attend vet school, only now she's divorced and has to find a way to be true to who she is while also returning to her Amish family and roots. I would call Green Pastures a blend of romance and women's fiction and one that pulls you into a story of family and sisters.I really enjoyed talking with Patricia about her writing journey and her encouragement that we should never give up. As she says, we haven't lost until we quit. We never know how close we are to a breakthrough. There's a readership for the book as long as we try. This was such a fun conversation. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did!Connect with Patricia JohnsFacebook | Instagram | X
