In Albania, olive oil is called “ilac”, medicine. It's included as a daily ritual for generations--a source of nourishment, healing, and tradition. For many of us, in other regions of the world, we have less familiarity with olive oil. And then we see labels on olive oil bottles that say "cold-pressed", "extra virgin", and "organic". What do these terms mean? And how can we find the best quality olive oil wherever we are? Bianti Danaj, an Albanian-American entrepreneur and founder of Donika Olive Oil, today brings clarity amidst the confusion. He goes over the meaning of the wording on labels. He describes the nuances that affect the quality of olive oil, including its exposure to heat, light and oxygen. He also goes over what the polyphenols in olive oil do for our explaining brain and gut health, our overall wellbeing and longevity. In sum, he makes a strong case for including olive oil as a part of our health journey, wherever in the world we may live. "If we don't understand how nature works, we're just guessing at trying to fix things." Adam and Josh Bigelsen provide insight today in how to listen to the body's messages, in order to address them. If you have trauma (and, naturally, most of us do), it doesn't mean just doing emotional work for healing. The physical has to be addressed as well. Today the Bigelsen brothers, from the Bigelsen Academy, offer insights on what the body is telling us, along with uncovering the emotional ties behind cancer, rashes and hives, asthma and mononucleosis, for example. This is a power-packed episode building on Wise Traditions podcast episode 523, which was the beginning of this conversation. What if your body was trying to tell you something about your state of health...through your blood? And not just through blood tests or "live blood analysis" but via a holographic image?! Adam and Josh Bigelsen are carrying on the important work of their father, Harvey Bigelsen, the author of "Holographic Blood" and "Doctors are More Harmful than Germs". Today they help us wrap our head around the message(s) that our bodies want to communicate to us. They explain the patterns that the blood uses to tell us about our health. They also go over the progression of disease and how important it is to read the body's messages... and how you can you do so with or without a dark field microscopy instrument. The U.S. dietary guidelines are considered the "gold standard" of nutrition recommendations. But they are failing us. Americans are unhealthier (and more obese) than ever before. Nina Teicholz, the author of "The Big Fat Surprise", explains why they are faulty and based on poor science. She goes over how the guidelines were chosen, its ties to the American Heart Association, Proctor & Gamble and Crisco. She explains why the emphasis on grains (even refined grains) and low-fat choices have led to sickness. And why saturated fat and sodium consumption are currently "capped" but shouldn't be. Finally, she shares her vision for how the guidelines could be reformed, based on sound science, for improved health outcomes for all Americans. Improved digestion. Clearer skin. Brain fog clearing up. These are some of the benefits of paying attention to the quality of ingredients that go into (and on) the body! If the bird flu virus hasn't been isolated, why does it matter? What are the implications? Has any virus EVER been isolated? What's the deal with bird flu? Is it actually something we should be worried about? What's the history of it? And why has there been a focus on it and why have millions of chickens been slaughtered because of it? Jacob Diaz, an independent researcher, explains today some of its history. He goes over what has happened this time around (and when initial bird flu "outbreaks" took place in the 2000s). He covers the flaws in the PCR testing and the logic of the supposed sickness and how the fear may be a tool to influence us to rely on Big Food and Big Pharma, rather than on independent small farmers and our own wherewithal for our health. Side note: Since this interview was recorded, the World Health Organization (WHO) has declared Monkeypox a “public health emergency of international concern.” We would put Monkeypox in the same category as the bird flu: a tool to instill fear and designed to coerce the public into getting unnecessary vaccines. Structured water is critical to good health. But what is it? How do we get more of it in the body? And can it really help us detox from disruptive ingredients in covid shots and other injections? And prevent or even help us heal after heart attacks? Dr. Stephen Hussey addresses all of the above in today's conversation. Stephen is the author of Understanding the Heart, and he has done a deep dive into what caused his own heart attack (at age 34!) and how to shore up health. He is convinced that it has everything to do with structured water (also called EZ or 4th phase water). Today he discusses how to create more of this critical water in the body and how it can help us not only detox from shots but heal and in the process, safeguard our health altogether. What did your childhood diet look like? Does it seem impossible to overcome? Take heart! Phoenix Be of Simply Grassfed had a shaky start too, filled with Lucky Charms and TV dinners. Today, he is a farmer, health and relationship coach, and an advocate for optimal health through a natural lifestyle and organic foods. In this episode, Phoenix shares his journey and emphasizes the importance of viewing food as our medicine. He discusses deceptive "greenwashing" labels that mislead the public into believing certain products are healthy and natural. Conventional medicine often focuses on managing symptoms rather than addressing the root cause of health issues. The work of Weston A. Price highlights the importance of traditional, nutrient-dense foods in promoting optimal health and development. Ancestral diets and nutrient-dense foods can positively impact facial structure and overall health. Pregnant women can benefit from following a Weston A. Price-inspired diet to support the health and development of their babies. Combining ancestral wisdom with modern practices can optimize health in today's unnatural environment. A nutrient-dense diet is essential for overall well-being, but supplements can help fill in nutritional gaps. Finding high-quality food is challenging in today's depleted environment, but regenerative farming practices offer a solution. Fat-soluble vitamins, found in animal products, play a crucial role in cognitive function, strength building, and overall health. Grass-fed and regenerative farming practices prioritize animal welfare and environmental sustainability. Finding local, sustainable sources of food is key to supporting regenerative farming and accessing nutrient-dense options. Raw milk is a nourishing and safe food that has been consumed by traditional cultures for centuries. Community and connection with others are essential for overall health and well-being. Taking time to just be and disconnect from screens can improve sleep and mental well-being. Experiencing the elements, such as cold exposure and sunlight, can strengthen the body and mind. Prioritizing holistic health and making simple lifestyle changes can have a profound impact on overall vitality and energy. More and more people are discovering and enjoying raw milk. But it's still not legal in some states. And regulatory hoops hinder the small rancher and farmer when it comes to processing animals and selling their products to the consumer. How can we remove impediments so that consumers can buy the food they want from the provider they choose? And make it easier for providers to sell their products to said consumers without interference? In short, how do we defend our food freedom in the U.S.? Congressman Thomas Massie, the U.S. representative for Kentucky's 4th district, addresses these questions on today's BONUS podcast episode. He offers insights on the raw milk landscape. And he also goes over the PRIME act, why he is backing it and what we can do to support this act's inclusion in the Farm Bill through three simple phone calls (to our 2 senators and 1 representative) here in the United States. When you look up, you may see streaks or stripes in the sky that don't seem to dissipate, like contrails of the past. If you're concerned about what's happening in our sky and how it's impacting humanity, you're not alone. Matt Landman created the documentary "Frankenskies" to draw attention to weather modification, aerosol injections, and geoengineering programs that are affecting the health of the land, sky, and the people on this planet. On today's podcast, Matt goes over what first drew his attention to the matter and why he is so passionate about informing people about the spraying that has been ongoing and especially prevalent since 1992. He covers which chemicals are being sprayed and what they do to us. And he also explains why so many people deny this ongoing program and agenda that is jeopardizing our health and autonomy. Finally, he challenges us to begin taking our health into our own hands with simple steps that take us from consumerism to activism. Animals, climate change, the Wuhan lab, and germs and viruses. All of these are convenient scapegoats when looking to blame something/anything for sickness and disease. But what if they're not to blame? Is it possible that the mainstream narratives are leading us in the wrong direction? Drs. Samantha and Mark Bailey are physicians and the authors of "The Final Pandemic". In their book and in today's interview, they point to flaws in our understanding of viruses and disease. Sam and Mark once held the mainstream beliefs about sickness and viruses. After all, they were educated about germs and diseases in medical school. But the events of 2020 led them to do a deep dive into virology, where they found no proof that viruses exist or that they cause illness. They then scoured the history books and found a pandemic playbook of sorts that had been used repeatedly throughout history, to "create pandemics" and then present the so-called solution of "necessary" vaccines to eradicate them. Their findings are startling and may lead many to question the virus narrative, as they have. Our air is contaminated. We're so disconnected from the earth. We often get more artificial light than natural light in our daily routines. And this situation is threatening our health. What can we do to turn things around? Thaddeus Owen, of the Primalhacker brand and the Corporate Escape Artist podcast, has some brilliant ideas for how to go about it. He has concrete ideas for upregulating our detoxification pathways, for example, to manage our polluted air. He offers suggestions for finding pristine sources of pure water for our bodies and for recharging ourselves as our ancestors did, with sunshine and earthing, among other ideas. Based on the five elements from traditional Chinese medicine, Thaddeus walks us through how to ground ourselves in more than one sense of the word. Industrial farming is on the rise and small farmers are being put out of business. But this isn't a coincidence or an unfortunate accidental side effect of progress. Dutch investigative journalist Elze van Hamelen suggests that there is a deliberate campaign to control the land and our food supply, that is not only damaging our health but ripping apart communities, traditions, and families. Among other topics on today's episode, Elze digs into the Rockefeller Foundation's initiative to "Reset the Table," the "30 x 30 land conservation" plan, the history of land consolidation in the Netherlands (which she never learned about in school) and more. She also discusses a surprising way we can support small farmers who are at risk of losing their land and push back against the worldwide propaganda that promotes the idea that small farming is bad for nature and for humanity. Maintaining and building skeletal muscle mass is great for strength today...and tomorrow. Dr. Gabrielle Lyon, the author of "Forever Strong" explores today how to go about building muscle mass and why. She goes over its preventative effect against "diseases of aging", like cancer, diabetes, and obesity. She specifies which exercises are actually the most effective for muscular health and what dietary choices are critical as we age. She even gets into if there's such a thing as acquiring TOO much muscle on the body and what to do if arthritic pain and/or illness makes exercising difficult in the first place. There are so many ingredients on food labels that are unrecognizable to us. This likely means that they are unrecognizable to our bodies, as well--which means that they're harming rather than helping us. Vani Hari, known as the Food Babe, is a best-selling author and activist that is dedicated to uncovering what's in our food and how it's affecting us, so that we can be empowered in the supermarket, restaurant, and in our own kitchens, to nourish ourselves well. She covers the importance of avoiding food dyes, "natural flavorings," and refined sugars, as a starting place. She talks about the personal ramifications of going after the food industry and revealing its secrets...and why she remains undaunted. Lastly, she offers timely advice for feeding the family well and why, as far as she's concerned, the 80/20 "rule" (eating well for 80% of the time) doesn't cut it anymore. Most American lawns are lovely...but not exactly an efficient use of space. What if we made the most of the land, helping to turn it into a source of sustenance for our families and communities? We could use permacultural principles to understand the land and collaborate with current ecosystems to help bring about its full potential. So says guest Jim Gale of Food Forest Abundance. On today's episode, Jim talks about how to get started with small shifts: how to decide what to plant and where to get started exactly. He also covers the importance of protecting ourselves against food shortages through better land management. And how we might cross our own mental barriers to start to explore this somewhat alternative lifestyle. Cows have gotten a bad rap in recent years. Their flatulence and burps have been cited as contributing to climate change. But what if that's not the case? What if, in fact, cows are actually helping save the planet? Judith D. Schwartz is a journalist and the author of “Cows Save the Planet.” Today, she sheds light on how much we need for cows for healthy soil. She describes the diversity of such soil (that the cows enrich) in detail, highlighting the soil's micro and macro diversity (including "mega fauna" such as earthworms)! She reminds us that the very minerals we seek for our children (often in the form of multivitamins) are found in the soil. Judith points out the critical role cattle play in cultivating such richness and how it benefits the world both today and tomorrow.
