In this September 9th webinar, Tom welcomes Dr. Jordan Grant for a focused conversation on vitamin D, vitamins, hormones, omega-3s, genes, and other claimed substances in biology.Tom opens by clarifying the purpose of the discussion: this is not about whether cod liver oil, butter, or Weston A. Price-style foods are beneficial, and it is not about attacking anyone's intentions. The specific question is whether the studies presented as proof actually demonstrate the existence of substances like vitamin D in foods or living beings. He explains that many people have sent him a Weston Price Journal article claiming to show the type and amount of vitamin D in various foods, and he invites Jordan to walk through the evidence and the thinking process behind these claims.Highlights from this session include: -Tom and Jordan discuss the difference between what researchers actually do in a lab versus the stories later told about what those results mean. -Jordan introduces the distinction between scientific realism and an operationalist/instrumentalist way of thinking, emphasizing the importance of sticking to what can actually be observed. -They look at the “recipe” often used in claims about vitamins, hormones, nucleotides, amino acids, and other invisible entities: starting with tissue or food, applying chemical steps, creating a product, and then claiming the product was “isolated” from the original material. -Tom and Jordan examine papers describing vitamin D preparation and isolation, including the use of solvents, acids, chloroform, methanol, irradiation, and crystallization. -Jordan explains why he sees many of these claims as question-begging: researchers often assume the very entity they are supposed to prove. -They discuss fluorescence, spectroscopy, chromatography, and similar methods, questioning whether these tests actually prove the presence of a specific substance or simply record a lab behavior. -Jordan emphasizes that a peak, color change, crystal, or lab readout may be real as an observed effect, but that does not automatically prove the identity, origin, or biological role being claimed. -Tom and Jordan connect this same thinking to blood tests, hormone tests, vitamin D tests, B12 tests, cholesterol, genes, viruses, and PCR testing. -They discuss how this way of thinking can make people feel powerless by shifting attention away from lived experience and toward abstract, invisible mechanisms. -Tom closes by asking where people can hear more from Jordan, followed by a lighter final question about whether Jordan can do a pull-up.Throughout the webinar, Tom and Jordan emphasize returning to direct observation, questioning assumptions, and separating real-world effects from the stories built around them.Support the showWebsites:https://drtomcowan.com/https://www.drcowansgarden.com/https://newbiologyclinic.com/https://newbiologycurriculum.com/Instagram: @TalkinTurkeywithTomFacebook: https://www.facebook.com/DrTomCowan/Bitchute: https://www.bitchute.com/channel/CivTSuEjw6Qp/YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCzxdc2o0Q_XZIPwo07XCrNg

What if the foods you believe are nourishing your gut are actually preventing it from healing? Monika Holland knows what it feels like to be told there are no options left. After years of debilitating illness, she was diagnosed with life-threatening Crohn's disease and given just months to live. Today, she helps people with some of the most severe digestive, neurological, and autoimmune conditions recover through the GAPS protocol—and a little-known therapeutic approach called No Plant GAPS. In this first of a two-part conversation, Monika shares her remarkable healing story and explains why Dr. Natasha Campbell-McBride developed No Plant GAPS for those with the most damaged digestive systems. She discusses why meat stock—not bone broth—is the foundation of healing, how the protocol aims to repair the gut lining and restore the microbiome, and why temporarily removing plant foods may help some people recover from chronic illness. Monika also addresses common concerns about nutrient deficiencies, explains the concept of metabolic flexibility, shares dramatic recovery stories from her clinical practice, and discusses the powerful connection between emotional healing and physical health. Whether you're struggling with digestive problems yourself or simply want to better understand the therapeutic side of the GAPS protocol, this episode offers a fascinating look at one practitioner's approach to restoring health from the inside out. In Part 2, we'll explore another important piece of the healing journey: therapeutic enemas, detoxification, and practical strategies for continuing recovery. Send us Fan MailToday we're releasing a new episode from a brand new series called the Boundless Body Radio Heritage Series! I wanted to do something extra special to celebrate 1,000 podcast episodes recorded here at Boundless Body Radio, a milestone that we hit on June 24, 2026!These episodes are actually not new, although they might be new to you! When we first got started back in October, 2020, I was so fortunate that so many incredible people said "YES" to being hosted on the show, however, we didn't have very many listeners at the time!Today, we get thousands of downloads every single month, and are usually included in the top 150 Fitness and Nutrition Podcasts on the Apple Podcast charts! To honor our amazing guests, I will be selecting one of those original episodes and posting them here on for this special series! As I was going through these episodes again, I remembered how valuable these conversations actually were. it was really striking how much the information these experts have shared has born out to be even more accurate several years later. The audio quality of a show was not as good back then as it is now, but I still really hope you enjoy these episodes, and find them relevant and helpful to you today!Cheers, thanks as always for listening, and I really hope you enjoy this episode of the Boundless Body Radio Heritage Series!Inhale. Exhale. A breath may be simple, and you do it mostly without thinking about it, but it is incredibly important. Bestselling author and journalist James Nestor has been involved with investigating breath for over a decade. And his work is incredible. He wrote the book Deep: Freediving, Renegade Science, and What The Ocean Tells Us about Ourselves in 2014, all about the sport of free diving, literally diving to the depths of the ocean on a single breath. In 2020, he wrote the bestseller Breath: The New Science of a Lost Art, an amazing deep dive into the importance of proper breathing, why we have forgotten about its importance, and how to practically incorporate proper breathing strategies. We are so grateful for James and his work, and we are glad he took the time to speak with us today!Find James at-www.mrjamesnestor.comSpecial love to-CalmThe Oxygen Advantage by Patrick McKeownFind Boundless Body at-myboundlessbody.comFind Boundless Body at-myboundlessbody.comBook a session with us here!

Overcoming fear of legalism allows us to apply faith to everyday life. Learn why avoiding topics not explicitly commanded limits your growth. Many Christians struggle with a fear of legalism that keeps them from discussing relevant cultural or practical topics. This hesitation often prevents us from applying our faith to areas of life that fall outside of strictly commanded biblical mandates. We discuss why this mindset can be a hindrance to spiritual maturity and how to expand your perspective on integrating faith into daily decisions. By moving past the fear of legalism, you can begin to see how biblical principles apply to broader life choices. This conversation helps you identify where you might be limiting your worldview and encourages a more robust application of scripture. We address the tension between strict adherence to rules and the freedom to pursue wisdom in all areas, ultimately helping you navigate complex topics with confidence.

From ultra-processed foods and pesticides to environmental toxins, pharmaceuticals, and chronic disease, it can feel overwhelming to try to make sense of it all - - - especially when our health "authorities" seem to continuously change their minds about what's good for us and what's killing us - - - and everything seems to be poison now. In this eye-opening conversation, Jamie Belz, FNTP, MHC, sits down with veteran pediatrician, integrative physician, author, speaker, and health freedom fighter, and author Dr. Michelle Perro, MD, DHom, to discuss one of the biggest questions of today: How do we pursue true health in an increasingly toxic world? Drawing from more than four decades of clinical experience, Dr. Perro shares her perspective on the growing health challenges affecting children and adults alike, why so many people are searching for answers outside conventional approaches, and what practical steps individuals can take to reclaim their health. Together, Jamie and Michelle dive into topics including: • What's making our children sick and how we can begin making them well • Glyphosate, GMOs, fluoride, and environmental toxic burden • The MAHA (Make America Healthy Again) movement and why it continues to gain momentum • Why curiosity is one of the most important skills we can develop in today's world • The importance of critical thinking and informed decision-making • Finding trustworthy health information in an age of information overload • Lyme disease, chronic illness, and environmental health concerns • The role of food as the foundation of physical and mental wellness • Transhumanism, AI, technology, and the future of human health • Why community matters when pursuing a different path toward wellness • How young people can become empowered advocates for their own health • Why the choices we make today may impact future generations One of the most powerful themes throughout this conversation is the idea that health is often visible. Spend time around people who prioritize nutrient-dense food, clean water, movement, sunshine, meaningful relationships, and foundational wellness, and you'll often notice a difference. There is a vibrance, energy, resilience, and optimism that stands out. Jamie and Michelle discuss how surrounding yourself with people who value health can accelerate your own journey and help you stay the course when the path feels unconventional. Whether it's attending a health conference, joining a local Weston A. Price chapter, connecting with practitioners, or simply finding friends who share similar values, this episode highlights the importance of finding community and support as you pursue a healthier life. Most importantly, this conversation is a reminder that lasting change starts with paying attention. Asking questions. Staying curious. Learning to think critically. And taking ownership of the choices that shape your health and the future health of those around you. Please subscribe, leave a review, and share this episode! What happens when what we believe—and what we actually do—don't quite line up? This week on the Wise Traditions podcast, pediatrician Dr. Lawrence Palevsky explores the concept of cognitive dissonance—what it is, why it's so common in modern life, and how it quietly shapes decisions around health, parenting, and trust in authority. Dr. Palevsky has spent decades encouraging parents to think critically, ask better questions, and reconnect with their own intuition. In this episode, he explains how cognitive dissonance shows up in everyday choices—from the foods people eat to the medical decisions they make—and why it can be so difficult to reconcile conflicting beliefs, even when the stakes are high. The conversation examines the tension many feel between what they've been told is "safe" or "normal" and what they instinctively sense may not be right. Dr. Palevsky discusses how fear, conditioning, and social pressure can keep individuals stuck—and what it takes to step outside that framework and begin thinking independently. This episode offers a thoughtful look at awareness, responsibility, and the courage to question long-held assumptions. It serves as an invitation to slow down, examine inherited narratives, and consider what it truly means to make informed, conscious choices for oneself and one's family. I welcome my friend Celanie Jones for an honest, intricate conversation about sovereignty and what it actually means, without the catchy buzzwords, and how it's often distorted in modern motherhood and within spiritual communities. Celanie is a homeschooling mom of two young children and local Weston A. Price chapter leader.Celanie shares her rocky but redemptive journey through abuse, trauma, pregnancy termination, postpartum psychosis, and her time inside the Free Birth Society, where the language of sovereignty was used ironically to control rather than to encourage autonomy. We unpack how real sovereignty isn't about rejecting systems blindly but rather listening to your own body without the outside influence of another leader or expert. This episode explores: • What sovereignty actually means on a nervous-system level • How cult dynamics show up in “crunchy” and spiritual motherhood spaces • The role of trauma in people-pleasing and submission • Why changing your mind is a powerful act of sovereignty • How to tell if you're truly making your own choicesPlease share your feedback within the comments section of Spotify or on instagram.
