What in the world is the "donut of death?" Why should you know about it? During our Tech Talk from EOTech Inc. Paul and Jarrad will consider using the circle-only reticle aka the donut of death. Is this just a gimmick or could it benefit you?  During our Coffee Corner from Studentofthegun.com/blackout we will consider the Book of Five Rings Study Guide and what those who have read it have to say. Have you read it yet? Did you leave a review?  Finally, what is the definition of insanity? We have witnessed a rash of negligent discharges during the last couple of weeks. Unfortunately, we are hearing people say that the solution to the ND problem is to keep on doing what we have been doing, despite that fact that it has failed. What does it take to build a legacy that transforms an entire profession? In this inspiring episode of TechTalk, hosts Dr. Jay Greenstein and Brad Cost sit down with Dr. Rick Schmitt, a respected chiropractor, entrepreneur, educator, and industry leader whose impact on chiropractic spans decades. From a chance encounter at a flea market that changed the course of his life to building one of the largest chiropractic personal injury networks in the Mid-Atlantic, Dr. Schmitt shares the experiences, lessons, and innovations that have defined his remarkable career. The conversation explores his entrepreneurial journey, the importance of lifelong learning, and how technology is reshaping chiropractic care through innovations like Digital Motion X-Ray (DMX), objective injury assessment, and improved clinical documentation. Dr. Schmitt also discusses his work developing continuing education programs, advancing best practices within the profession, and helping chiropractors improve patient outcomes through evidence-based care.Perhaps most powerful is Dr. Schmitt's personal story of resilience. After surviving a devastating fall that left him temporarily paralyzed (and later overcoming throat cancer), he reflects on how these life-changing experiences transformed his perspective on family, purpose, and what it truly means to leave a lasting legacy.Whether you're a chiropractor, healthcare professional, entrepreneur, or simply someone passionate about leadership and innovation, this episode is filled with practical insights and an inspiring reminder that the greatest impact comes from serving others. In this episode, you'll learn:How one unexpected conversation led Dr. Schmitt to a career in chiropracticThe mindset that helped him build a successful multi-location practiceWhy innovation and technology are transforming personal injury careHow Digital Motion X-Ray (DMX) is changing the evaluation of spinal instabilityThe importance of documentation, education, and evidence-based chiropractic careLessons in resilience after surviving catastrophic injury and cancerWhy giving back to the profession has become Dr. Schmitt's life's missionIf you enjoy conversations about healthcare innovation, chiropractic technology, entrepreneurship, and leadership, be sure to subscribe to TechTalk for more interviews with the people shaping the future of healthcare. To connect with Rick, email him at DrSchmitt@cleardmx.com.

399 Disclosure Day TMNT Pizza Ocarina Remake Management RegretDoom Scrolling IntroThe Foos are one episode away from 400, and while a big blowout special is still a “real big maybe,” they take a moment to acknowledge the milestone and the long, weird road to getting there. They recap a productive weekend, including house chores and a trip to LA to see Sparta open for Local H opening for The Toadies at the Belasco. Joe nerds out over Sparta's At the Drive-In connection, Local H's two-piece setup that somehow sounds like a full band, and The Toadies delivering plenty from the Possum Kingdom era. Also: a drunk guy in the pit goes way harder than the songs require. This week's Florida story features a fugitive accused of stealing crab legs from Winn-Dixie, then allegedly hiding inside an air conditioner air handler behind ductwork while his girlfriend hides in a closet. Because in Florida, seafood theft apparently turns you into HVAC.Geeking Out starts with Steven Spielberg's new alien thriller Disclosure Day, which opened big and brings Spielberg back into the alien-movie conversation. The Foos talk practical creativity versus AI, including Emily Blunt reportedly creating her alien clicking voice herself instead of using AI.Then it's food and nostalgia: the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles pizzeria is opening in Santa Monica on June 20, fully decked out with cartoon-style décor, merch, neon turtle faces, and a pizza pickup counter designed like the front of the Turtle Van. They also shout out 50 Burger in Upland as a legit local smash burger spot.Nintendo drops a nostalgia bomb with a Legend of Zelda Ocarina of Time remake planned for 2026, plus Switch/Switch 2 news and more from Nintendo Direct. The Foos compare it to the larger trend of remakes and remasters like Resident Evil and Final Fantasy.DC talk continues with Lanterns, the upcoming HBO Max series being pitched like a darker detective drama in the style of True Detective, plus My Adventures with Superman returning with a Reign of Superman-inspired season.Steph also spotlights Larry David's upcoming historical comedy series The Life, Larry, and the Pursuit of Unhappiness: An Almost History of America, which looks exactly like Larry David being dropped into major moments in history and complaining his way through them.Tech Talk makes a brief appearance with Logitech's MobiFold, a tiny foldable portable mouse that sounds surprisingly practical. They also remind listeners that Doug Brody's Shelley: Our Evolution is coming out June 19, and Steph is already deep into the book. Here's What I Would Do gets unusually existential:Michael (Irvine) got the management promotion he worked toward for years, but now misses the hands-on work he actually enjoyed.Rachel (Pasadena) isn't sure whether she wants kids, because both versions of the future — parenthood or child-free life — seem like they could be happy, and choosing one means letting go of the other.ChaptersDoom Scrolling IntroIntroOne episode away from 400 + possible milestone episodeBelasco recap Sparta Local H ToadiesDrunk pit energy during songs that did not need itFlorida fugitive steals crab legs hides in air conditionerGeeking Out Spielberg alien thriller Disclosure DayEmily Blunt practical alien voice vs AITMNT pizzeria opening in Santa Monica June 2050 Burger Upland smash burger shoutoutNintendo Direct Ocarina of Time remake nostalgia bombLanterns HBO Max True Detective superhero vibeMy Adventures with Superman Reign of Superman seasonLarry David historical comedy series previewLogitech MobiFold foldable portable mouseDoug Brody Shelley Our Evolution June 19Here's What I Would Do Promotion regret Michael IrvineHere's What I Would Do Deciding whether to have kids Rachel PasadenaOutro + Doom Scrolling Outro

Geographic information systems, remote sensing, and spatial data are becoming everyday tools for forestry and natural resource management. In this episode of Timber University, Dr. Michael Crosby from Louisiana Tech University joins us to discuss how GIS can help foresters, landowners, students, and natural resource professionals better understand forests, make maps, analyze management decisions, and connect field observations to landscape-scale patterns. Dr. Crosby is an Associate Professor in Louisiana Tech's School of Agricultural Sciences and Forestry, where his work connects forestry, spatial modeling, forest health, invasive species, weather, and climate. He has also co-authored Geographic Information System Skills for Foresters and Natural Resource Managers, a textbook focused on helping foresters and land managers apply GIS to real-world data and management problems. In this conversation, we discuss why GIS matters in modern forestry and how mapping tools can move beyond "pretty pictures" into practical decision support. Dr. Crosby explains how spatial data can help answer questions about forest condition, access, disturbance, risk, invasive species, and management planning. The episode also touches on how students and working professionals can build confidence with GIS, even if they are not coming from a technical background. We also discuss the growing role of remote sensing, aerial imagery, and spatial analysis in forestry education and practice. From identifying patterns on the landscape to supporting better field decisions, these tools are increasingly important for foresters, land managers, consultants, researchers, and students preparing to work in natural resources. This episode is a useful listen for forestry students, consulting foresters, land managers, extension professionals, GIS users, and anyone interested in how spatial tools are changing the way we understand and manage forests. This episode is not about replacing people. It's about helping dealership teams become faster learners, better communicators, and more valuable in a rapidly changing world. If you work in automotive retail, leadership, sales, service, or fixed ops, this conversation will challenge the way you think about AI, the future workforce, and what customers actually want from the dealership experience. On the Hollywood Godfather podcast, Gianni and co-host Jeanie welcome back tech expert Mike Austin to discuss staying safe with technology. Austin explains iPhone screen sharing, warns about scams such as fake Venmo “send it back” requests, phishing emails, and the risks of unsubscribing from unknown emails; he advises verifying sender addresses, using aliases when signing up for services, and keeping devices updated with firewalls and security software. He says major databases have been hacked and mentions services like Cloaked to remove personal data, plus call-screening and message filtering features. They discuss algorithm-driven ads, DuckDuckGo, and new AI threats including fingerprint harvesting from peace-sign photos and voice-cloned fraud calls, recommending private social accounts and family code words. Audience questions cover senior safety tips (don't send money, avoid crypto), Zelle and payment security (prefer credit cards, PayPal, Apple Pay), blocking subscriptions via banks, and using Rocket Money.

The Challenge: AI is fundamentally changing traffic patterns, operations, and customer expectations, exposing the limits of legacy network architectures built for static connectivity rather than intelligent, real-time automation. Service providers are now under pressure to scale AI-ready infrastructure, manage growing operational complexity, and deliver predictive, always-on customer experiences. The Solution: AI-ready networks require a new approach where the network becomes both the foundation for AI workloads and a rich source of real-time intelligence. In this Tech Talk on the Beyond the Fiber podcast, Jim Grubb explores how AI is driving autonomous operations, proactive assurance, and the transformation from reactive networks to intelligent, self-optimizing platforms.
