Today on the podcast we have as a guest Christie Penner Worden who is the North American Director for RaiseUP Faith. With a focus on equipping and coaching, resourcing and training, Christie is a strategic leader who is passionate about discipling children, empowering leaders and providing effective support to those who love and serve today's kids. Christie is a credentialed pastor with the BIC denomination, has the Engage Certificate in Children's Ministry through Bethel Seminary, and is a certified coach with The International Network of Children's Ministry (INCM). Christie is an international speaker and writer, sharing her wonder and what-ifs with dreamers and doers alike, with organizations including David C. Cook, Ministry Spark, INCM, New Wine, KidzMatter, KidBuilders, Awesome KidMin Community, Lead Volunteers, Collide Kids Podcast, Bible Talk, Jesus Collective, and local churches across Canada. From writing articles to hosting weekend-long workshops, Christie can generally be found somewhere in the future where the Church is thriving and the contribution of every generation is the very definition of unity in One Body. It is as a wife, mama bear to three (mostly) delightful cubs, and part-time unicorn that Christie found her own voice as an advocate for the silent Church: the grand vision shared by children everywhere for a world where all are welcome, included, loved, and celebrated. Mahogany serves as Training Manager with INCM, International Network of Children’s Ministry. She is a graduate of Bethel Seminary and has served for many years as a Children’s Pastor in the local church.KidZ at Heart partners with INCM. Please visit https://www.incm.org/ to learn more.Experiencing God's love and expressing the joy of the encounter to others is as natural as breathing in and then breathing out. Sharing your faith story (witnessing) doesn’t require a designated night of the week or a memorized presentation or pressuring strangers with intrusive questions. “Witnessing” is simply recounting to others the love and kindness that we have benefited from.Inviting children into the spiritual practice of talking about Jesus, telling others about their personal encounters with God, opens a door of purpose for them. This practice fortifies their identity as someone precious to God, someone with eternal purpose and belonging. Children with this lifelong habit are not easily swayed when life gets difficult. Their own witnessing voice echoes in their memories and verifies the truth of who God is.To download our free Resource Guide for this episode, please visit www.kidzathome.org and scroll to the bottom of the page. Today on the podcast, Sean speaks with Michayla White, Executive Director of INCM, about eliminating unnecessary expectations. There are expectations that we put on ourselves that God does not put on us. The expectations that we put on ourselves will never be as nice or merciful as those that come from the Father. Take a time and step back and seek what the Lord expects of you. Spend some time in Matthew 11 and spend time with God in his presence and allow him to speak to you.
