Today we welcome Scott to the EdTech Speaks podcast. MovieComm's CEO and Founder, Scott DiGiammarino was an award-winning senior executive at American Express. Scott took his region from worst to first in one year and maintained best-in-class metrics for over 20 years at Amex. Part of his winning strategy was using Hollywood movie clips in an internal email campaign to motivate, engage and inspire his employees. Scott decided that he wanted to help other leaders, trainers and educators connect with their audiences so, after a 9.5-year negotiation with the Hollywood studios, he started MovieComm. Scott has been featured in Fast Company, Variety, and the New York Times best-selling book, Likeonomics. He also gave a TED talk entitled, "Why Movies Move Us" which is about the impact that movies have on people and the neuroscience behind them.Scott says, "What I've learned through my career at American Express and MovieComm is that having a big vision, remaining true to what you believe in and then persevering is the key to success."Learn more and connect with Scott here:https://www.linkedin.com/in/scottdigiammarino/https://www.facebook.com/moviecommllc/?view_public_for=248096008955723https://www.instagram.com/mymoviecomm/https://twitter.com/mymoviecomm Get bonus content on Patreon See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information.

Rohit Bhargava is a trend curator, TEDx speaker and the author of five best-selling books, including the recent 2017 edition of “Non-Obvious: How to Think Different, Curate Ideas & Predict the Future” and “Likeonomics.” When Bhargava analyzes trends, he isn’t thinking about the availability of flying cars you can control with your mind, he is operating more in the here and now. He does this because he believes the future is coming at us faster than ever before, “I’m describing something that is happening in the world, and all of my trends are based on something that’s happening now. I specifically don’t do 10-year predictions… And the reason I do it on such a short term is because I’m really describing the accelerating present.” He goes on to add: “This is stuff that … is going to accelerate in the next year and therefore really matter for your business.” Highlights from this week’s “Marketing Today” podcast include: Kicking ass: Rohit discusses the idea of “Fierce Femininity.” (3:05) “Lovable Unperfection” — Imperfection as a source of strength. (5:11) The challenge of self-aware data. (6:45) “Precious Print” — Physical artifacts still carry value in today’s digital world. (10:18) What’s next? Developing habits to help you identify and understand trends. (12:03) Emerging brands: It’s in the details. (18:00) Rohit shares his idea of “Passive Loyalty.” (19:51) Support the show.

Social media is never going to get the credit it deserves when driving commerce and here's why: My wife gave me a brand new laptop bag for Christmas (for the first time ever, I told her exactly what I wanted). I had heard about the bag from my friend Rohit Bhargava, who recommended it in a private Facebook group that I'm a part of. The bag is not sold in the United States, so I gave my wife the link. As a result, the bag company will never know that I heard about it from social media. Instead, they'll see it as direct traffic or potentially organic traffic from Google. This is an important reminder for marketers. Just because you can't always see the impact of social media doesn't mean it doesn't exist. This is why brands are using surveys more and more to figure out what social media's true value is. How are you measuring the value of social in your marketing? Project Management Podcast: Project Management for the Masses with Cesar Abeid, PMP
It’s a new week, so welcome to a new episode of the Project Management for the Masses Podcast! I recently devoured a book called “Likeonomics” an Amazon #1 best seller in “Global Marketing,”Motivation and Self-Help,” and in 6 other categories. In this book, Rohit Bhargava convinced me through real stories and lots of research, that […]
Rohit Bhargava has spent most of his career inspiring better marketing by helping companies act in more human ways. He is the #1 best-selling author of Likeonomics: The Unexpected Truth Behind Earning Trust, Influencing Behavior, and Inspiring Action. The book offers a new vision of a world beyond Facebook where personal relationships, likeability, brutal honesty, extreme simplicity, and basic humanity are behind everything from multi-million dollar mergers to record-breaking product sales. There is a real ROI to likeability, and exactly how big it is will amaze you. His latest book is Always Eat Left Handed: 15 Surprisingly Simple Secrets Of Success. It gives entertaining lessons and tried-and-true words of wisdom beyond the obvious and oft-repeated "Make mistakes. Do what you love. Take risks. Never give up."
Ever have the sneaking suspicion that no matter how hard you work, you could be passed over for a promotion or new opportunity for someone who’s not smarter or more talented, but simply more likeable? Marketing expert and author Rohit Bhargava will confirm those fears in this Social Capitalist interview but also offer actionable solutions, with host Sara Grace. He talked about his book Likeonomics, which tells us that nothing is more important to your success, and the success of your company, than the simple metric of likeability.
Host Phalana Tiller talks with Rohit Bhargava, a professor of global marketing at Georgetown University and the author of Likeonomics about the impact of likeability personal and organizational success. Tiller also chats with Peter Post, a director of the Emily Post Institute and the author of five etiquette books, including The Etiquette Advantage in Business. The conversations explore the role that having good manners and being likeable play in any well-functioning organization. And, Rick Wartzman delivers a piece about a performance studio created by the Grateful Dead’s Bob Weir.
Moe and Rohit Bhargava discuss the unexpected truth behind earning trust, influencing behavior, and inspiring action.
Welcome to episode #313 of Six Pixels Of Separation - The Twist Image Podcast. Rohit Bhargava has an impressive resume. He is the SVP of Global Strategy & Planning for Ogilvy and a professor of global marketing at Georgetown University. He has one of the most popular marketing blogs on the Internet called, Influential Marketing Blog, and is the author of Personality Not Included and his recently published sophomore effort, Likeonomics. Rohit describes Likeonomics like this: "Likeonomics is a new book about why some people and companies are more believable than others and why likeability is the real secret to being more trusted, getting more customers, making more money - and perhaps even changing your life." Powerful stuff from one of the smarter marketing brains out there. Before getting on with the show, I am frequently asked about the music at the end of the podcast. The song is 'St. Lawrence River' and it's by David Usher. I've been friends with David forever and his music always inspires me. He let me know that a new project he's working on, Artists For Amnesty, is giving away this song for free. Just go to the site and follow the instructions. Enjoy the conversation...
