Welcome to the first episode of It All Comes Back to Superman Series Two, the pretty much the same, not really all that new reaffirmation of my Kryptonian faith. I am your host, Michael Bailey, and this time out I am starting a two part series celebrating Superman's 85th anniversary because...I really want to. It's just that simple. For this first installment I do an off the cuff solo episode where I talk about six of the sub-anniversaries happening during Superman's 85th. Superman The Movie, Superman III, the Ruby Spear Superman animated series, the live action Superboy series, Lois and Clark: The New Adventures of Superman, and Man of Steel all have big anniversaries this year and I thought it would be fun to go through them all in one shot instead of devoting specific episodes to them for...reasons. Various reasons. Reasons I go through during the episode itself. I mentioned during the episode that I had done a commentary for Superman The Movie back in 2013. That was on episode 153 of Views From The Longbox, which I don't have a handy link to...sadly...because the post with the show notes for that episode no longer exists. Views is readily available on just about all podcatching services, so it should be easy to find. For those interested, episode 155 of Views was a commentary for Superman II and episode 162 was the commentary for Superman IV that I did with Scott Gardner. Not to be outdone, if you search for episode 135 of the Palace of Glittering Delights where Andy Leyland had me on to yak over the "coherence cut" of Superman IV. Feedback for It All Comes Back To Superman Series Two can be sent to itallcomesbacktosuperman@gmail.com. You can subscribe to the show on Apple Podcasts/iTunes or stream it through Spotify and Audible. The Fortress of Baileytude Podcasting Network is on Patreon. It's mostly a tip jar as I have no time at the moment to produce exlcusive content, but if you like the content I do produce please consider contributing a dollar a month. The opening and closing theme to the show is titled Journey and was composed by Pontus Rufelt. It is licensed from Shockwave-Sound. Next Time: The second part of Happy Anniversary, Superman!
John Colter was an American frontiersman and explorer known for his incredible survival ordeal in the early 19th century.John Colter was a member of the Lewis and Clark Expedition, which explored the newly acquired Louisiana Territory in the early 1800s. After the expedition's official journey ended in 1806, Colter decided to continue exploring the vast wilderness of the American West.In 1807, Colter found himself in the region that is now Yellowstone National Park.He and a fellow fur trapper, John Potts, became the first white men to encounter the geothermal wonders of the area, including geysers and hot springs. However, their exploration took a harrowing turn when they were captured by a group of Blackfoot Indians. While Potts was killed, Colter was stripped of his clothes and given a head start in a deadly race for his life. He managed to escape the pursuing Blackfoot warriors, and what followed was a legendary survival ordeal.Colter endured a grueling journey through the wilderness, covering hundreds of miles on foot, and surviving in harsh conditions, including extreme cold and hunger.Colter's survival skills and resourcefulness were put to the test as he navigated through the Rocky Mountains. He eventually reached a fur trading post in South Dakota, where he recounted his astonishing adventure. His story of survival became legendary and was the subject of numerous accounts and tall tales.John Colter's remarkable journey through the untamed American wilderness solidified his status as one of the early mountain men and explorers of the West. His survival story remains an enduring part of American frontier history, demonstrating his exceptional resilience and adaptability in the face of extreme adversity.(commercial at 7:16)to contact me:bobbycapucci@protonmail.comThis show is part of the Spreaker Prime Network, if you are interested in advertising on this podcast, contact us at https://www.spreaker.com/show/5003294/advertisement

Having made his feature film debut starring in the teen comedy CAVEGIRL Daniel Roebuck quickly realized that there was only one direction to travel in his career. Up!Soon after CAVEGIRL, Roebuck established himself as one of the industry's youngest character actors with his haunting portrayal as the teenage killer, Samson in THE RIVER'S EDGE.Since then Daniel Roebuck has continually challenged himself with each new role he undertakes. His fearlessness was readily apparent as Roebuck took on the guise of Jay Leno in THE LATE SHIFT, HBO's critically acclaimed telefilm, written by Bill Carter, directed by Betty Thomas, and executive produced by Ivan Reitman. THE LATE SHIFT detailed the "late night wars" as NBC jockeyed for the services of Jay Leno and David Letterman following Johnny Carson's retirement from "The Tonight Show." Roebuck described the task of playing such a high-visibility entertainer as "the hardest thing I've ever done." However, after driving past Leno while on his way to an initial make-up test for the role, Roebuck believes there is a "definite serendipity" to his involvement in the project.Never one to be satisfied, Daniel stepped into another set of famous shoes when he was asked to play Garry Marshall in BEHIND THE CAMERA; MORK AND MINDY, THE UNAUTHORIZED STORY. A long time fan of Marshall's oeuvre, Roebuck was thrilled to yet another leap into the world of Bio pics.Aside from his numerous on camera projects, Daniel has recently lent his voice to two animated films. In the first, CHRISTMAS IS HERE AGAIN, Daniel plays an elf named Paul Rocco. Roebuck is also producing the 2007 release. The second film is THE HAUNTED WORLD OF ELSUPERBEASTO. In it, Daniel reprises his role of Morris Green, from Rob Zombie's THE DEVIL'S REJECTS. Although many actors have played the same character in 2 different movies, this may be the first time that one project was live action and the second film was animated! In 2005 Roebuck settled back into series television when he joined the cast of LOST in the last three episodes of the acclaimed series' first season. Daniel played the misunderstood Dr. Leslie Arzt and made TV history when he exploded on camera in the season finale!Roebuck has been a familiar face on television over the last 20 years, he was a regular for three seasons on the evergreen hit drama, MATLOCK, portraying attorney 'Cliff Lewis," the junior partner of the law firm headed by Andy Griffith's beloved character, 'Ben Matlock.' Interestingly, his landing the role was the fulfillment of a promise made several years earlier with his first appearance on "Matlock" in its inaugural season. At that time, Roebuck was told that Griffith had been so impressed with his work that he would be back as a regular on the show. It took five seasons, two more guest shots as different characters, and a change of networks, but Griffith kept his promise and Roebuck indeed became a series regular. In the fall of 2003 Mr. Roebuck returned to series television as Pete Peterson in A MINUTE WITH STAN HOOPER, Fox TV's new comedy starring Norm MacDonald. In the series Roebuck portrayed a gay owner of the local diner where much of the action took place.Audiences will also remember Daniel for his many unforgettable guest star roles on television over the years. Grateful that he's never been typecast Roebuck has played cops to crooks and everything in between. Some of his memorable characters include a super villain attempting world domination on LOIS AND CLARK, THE NEW ADVENTURES OF SUPERMAN, a Romulan on STAR TREK, an Army lieutenant on THE WEST WING, a Catholic Priest on ANY DAY NOW, a sex addict on SIX FEET UNDER, a distraught husband on ER and a fleeing mob accountant on MONK. Other recent credits include NAVY NCIS, GHOST WHISPERER, CSI, BOSTON LEGAL, LAW AND ORDER and DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES and CLOSE TO HOME.However it was a turn as the gun wielding crazy,

Acting in a critical and commercial hit like Rian Johnson’s “Knives Out” is nothing new for actress K Callan. Throughout her storied career, she has appeared in numerous hit projects, including “All In The Family,” “How I Met Your Mother,” “Nip/Tuck,” “One Day At A Time,” “Lois and Clark: The New Adventures of Superman,” and “Veep.” K even appeared in commercials with former podcast guest Paul Dooley. She is once again delighting audiences with her portrayal of the mysterious and hilarious Greatnana Wanetta, the matriarch of the dysfunctional Drysdale family in the Oscar- and Golden Globe-nominated “Knives Out”. In this interview, K recalls staking out an acting career in New York City as a single mother, and discusses what it takes to become a successful actor. She also talks about having a ground-breaking role on an Emmy-winning episode of “All In The Family,” getting the call that Rian Johnson wanted her in his all-star follow-up to “Star Wars: The Last Jedi,” and her book “How To Sell Yourself As An Actor,” which is available on Amazon.
