On this week's episode, Zach and Mike take a look at Batman: Damned . We're joined this week by our newest Dick Grayson tier backer, Matt McThorn, who wanted to talk about series released under DC's mature readers (mostly) super-hero imprint, Black Label. We have the infamous debit book of the line, where Batman goes full frontal, a story of the Joker driving his therapist insane (not that therapist, another one), and a journey through a dark mirror Gotham. And yes, even Gotham can have a dark mirror, as hard as that is to believe. We are back. Matt and Jay catch up, then hop into Scott Snyder's Batman run, looking at it as a whole and in smaller pieces to determine if this is one of the best Batman runs we've seen and one of the best runs in comics overall. They touch on Superpowered: The DC Story on Max, DC TV shows, and the Punisher. They then go to a galaxy far, far away to discuss the first 5 episodes of Ahsoka, the possibilities of retconning the sequel trilogy, and the Bad Batch. They finish with homework, including Transformers: Rise of the Beasts, The Prestige, Baby Driver, Bachelors, Essex County, and Batman: Damned. Hey all and welcome to the Nerd Rejects podcast! Gasper, John and Ty talk about everything that one can feel nerdy about in this day and age, where this episode revolves around how sex can potentially be a sales point within the comic book and manga industry. The trio ends up connecting that that idea to what occurs in comic book movies as well. A controversy occurred recently on the cover of a My Hero Academia manga cover and within Batman: Damned #1 in recent years, where the question that comes to mind relates to, "Were these attempts for attention or included within the storyline somehow?". This is a big topic within the media world today, especially in comparing how sex sells between different genders. Following that, the hosts delve into John's favorite nerdy quote from the DC animated movie universe and they end up comparing the superheroes and villains between the two large comic book superpower publishers. With the addition of more video game news and talk about what's to come in that nerddom, there's more to come with what the three have to talk about. **There's also a big announcement about the future of the podcast towards the end of the episode! Stay tuned and be on the lookout for more from this podcast sooner than later! Thank you for choosing the Nerd Rejects podcast to entertain you for around an hour. I finally got a chance to read Batman Damned. Written by Brian Azzarello and art by the amazing Lee Bermejo. Some people have said it was a bit of a follow up to their work on Joker about 10 years before. There was some hype a few years ago when Damned came out with the news of Batman showing his penis. Apparently that was on the first printing because my hardcover of the full 3 issue series didn't have it. What a let down! Let's talk about the very different Batman story, origin too, in this episode of House of Black. Episode 119!? This week we are switching things up! We were lucky enough to be included in the #UniteTheSeven event! Unite the seven is a comic book podcast crossover event where each of us will highlight a member of the Justice League! If you're a long time fan of the show you might be surprised to see that we picked Batman! We are still reviewing a book and are giving our thoughts on "Batman: Damned"! THE JOKER IS DEAD. There is no doubt about that. But whether Batman finally snapped his scrawny neck or some other sinister force in Gotham City did the deed is still a mystery. Problem is, Batman can't remember...and the more he digs into this labyrinthine case, the more he starts to doubt everything he's uncovering. So who better to set him straight than...John Constantine? The problem with that is as much as John loves a good mystery, he loves messing with people's heads even more. So with John's "help," the pair will delve into the sordid underbelly of Gotham as they race toward the mind-blowing truth of who murdered the Joker. Batman: Damned is a groundbreaking supernatural horror story told by two of comics' greatest modern creators: Brian Azzarello (Dark Knight III: The Master Race, 100 Bullets) and Lee Bermejo (Hellblazer, Joker). Gather close Bat-Fanatics while Uncles Joe & Kendall share with you a story of death, rebirth, judgement, and… penises. That’s right, this time we delve into the unreasonably infamous Batman: Damned. Written as a loose sequel to Azzarello & Bermejo’s Joker, this title was the flagship that launched DC’s Black Label imprint. It asked a simple question: What would happen if Batman killed the Joker? The imprint was supposed to open up flagship DC characters to stranger, darker, more mature themes. Then you show Batman’s penis and the whole thing goes into a tailspin. Does this story deserve infamy? Probably not, but it did deserve a whole new segment: Cataclysmic Controversy! Is it good? We don’t know, but we certainly give you our opinions. Is the art phenomenal? Oh yeah. So dive into a supernatural mystery of life and death, rap-battle with the demonic J-Blood, and get judged by vagrant Spectre! Oh.My.Damn. Batman Damned. We all damned if you don't listen. Maybe not. Just listen, damnit.
Was bedeutet die okkulte Verschwörung wirklich?
A new addition to the Podcast Channel - A Comics Review Show! Again I am joined by Keith, Ciaran and Stephen, and hope to make this a monthly show where we look back over our favourite comics released that month. It is also my hope to rotate the guests and get as many points of view into the podcast network as possible. For the first show, it was going to be a quick 20 minute conversation which would have gone before our Previews show, but the conversation was too good to restrict it to that short a time frame! So you may hear us chat at the start about it being part of that format, I thought I'd just leave it in so as to keep it as raw and spontaneous as possible! In this show we talk about - Doomsday Clock #7 Batman #55 Bully Wars #1 Amazing Spiderman Annual #1 Avengers #8 Oblivion Song #7 Fantastic Four #2 Mister Miracle #11 Heroes in Crisis #1 Action Comics #1003 Justice League Dark #3 Cosmic Ghost Rider #3 And then there's a special long discussion at the end regarding a certain Batman Damned #1...... In this podcast, spoilers are kept to a minimum but for future podcasts they will be spoiler filled as we can delve into an issue much more thoroughly by discussing specific plot points and story developments. Hope you guys dig the new format, and if there are any questions you'd like to ask us, or any issues / subjects you'd like us to discuss, feel free to drop an email to coffeeandheroes@hotmail.com or drop us a message through the Facebook Page...
So viele Fragen. So viel Spannung. Großartige Zeichnungen in einem wunderschönen Album. Viel Spaß mit meiner Rezension zu Batman: Damned 1.

Michael and Derek are back at their local shop, Heroes Aren't Hard to Find, to discuss recent mainstream and indie titles that have captured their attention. Mike starts the ball rolling by focusing on recent expressions of a couple of second-tier characters, Doctor Strangeand Hawkman, as handled by Mark Waid and Robert Venditti, respectively. He then takes the conversation into a more "adult" direction with the first issue in Batman: Damned, part of DC's new Black Label imprint. This title is notable for a couple of reasons. First, it's now difficult to find, and as such, both fans and retailers are selling copies for a hefty price. But even more significant is the fact that in this first issue, readers get to see Batman naked. That's right, Wayne's wang. Batman's junk. The recent titles that Derek brings up are much tamer in nature. He begins with Matt Kindt and Tyler Jenkins's Black Badge (BOOM! Studio), the second issue of which will be released next week. This is a promising new limited series that has all of the secretive, undercover, and espionage-y markings of a Kindt narrative. However, Derek isn't as excited about the new Image series, Man-Eaters, written by Chelsea Cain and art by Kate Niemczyk. While he admires the message that seems to be embedded in the story, the first issue is rather sketchy in laying any satisfying narrative groundwork. But Derek more enamored by the minicomic Common Blessings and Common Curses, written by Maritsa Patrinos and nominated this year for an Ignatz Award in the Outstanding Minicomic category. It was a wonderful find at this year's Small Press Expo. Remember that The Comics Alternative's on-location series is now part of the Queen City Podcast Network!
