1. Do you sometimes feel like the closer you get to GOD the more you are misunderstood by man? If so isn't this kind of weird as one would think that becoming more like Christ should make us more loving, gentle and meek so then in turn we should be easier to understand? 2. Leviticus 16:29 says: “And it shall be a statute to you FOREVER that in the seventh month, on the tenth day of the month, you shall afflict yourselves and shall do no work, either the native or the stranger who sojourns among you.". Now, I know that Jesus as the sacrifice is the new and permanent atonement for us, but why, knowing that Jesus would someday die for our sins, did a God command that we afflict ourselves, and why do we not honour this day when we were commanded to do so forever?

Marvel fans should be sure to check out Duane’s Pick of the Week, Spider-Man: Forever Young! Created from Marvel’s prose novel by veteran comic writer Stefan Petrucha, this one is based on classic story arc from late 60’s entitled the "Stone Tablet Saga." In Forever Young, we see Spidey’s bad luck reach all-time highs, as he is caught up in a battle royal between the Kingpin and the Maggia crime outfit, who are vying for possession of a mysterious tablet. Things get even worse for his alter ego, Peter Parker, who finds himself at odds with his close friends, including the love of his life, Gwen Stacy. As a huge Spider-Man fan, who is quite familiar with the ‘60s storyline, Duane was thrilled to hear this one in the GraphicAudio format. He says, "Director Scott McCormick and Sound Designer Justin Wortz do their magic once again to deliver a very entertaining production...By all means, you need to cop a copy of Spider-Man: Forever Young!"
A stunning selection this week, kicking off with the absolutely spectacular Congolese band KoKoKo!. We also have new music from the legendary Aphex Twin alongside new tunes from some of those he has undoubtedly inspired, such as Karen Gwyer. There's deconstructed drum n bass from Pessimist, space music from Henge, digital dub from Roger Robinson, a beautiful, long piece from Man Forever, something from down under in the shape of Suburban Cracked Collective, thrash punk from Casual Sect, and the latest stunn

Joe talks to Brooklyn drummer Kid Millions about prep. school, Oneida, Metal Machine Music, tuning drums with Brian Chase, and his solo percussion project, Man Forever.
John Colpitts is a prolific and skilled percussionist based in New York City. Also known as Kid Millions, he’s a founding member of the Brooklyn-based band Oneida who are acclaimed for their euphoric, propulsive, and open-ended rock sound. Over the past four years, Colpitts has been exploring the outer limits of drums under the moniker […]
On today's show, I talk to John Colpitts AKA Kid Millions of the bands Oneida and Man Forever. John started drumming in high school and moved to New York in the late-90s to get into music more seriously. After working in music adjacent jobs like being the booker for The Knitting Factory and playing in a jazz trio, John and some friends eventually formed Oneida. In the last 16 years, Oneida's released a dozen albums and toured all over the world. Most recently, John put out an album of minimalist percussion under the name Man Forever. It's on Thrill Jockey, and it's really awesome!Check out the website for Beginnings, subscribe on iTunes, and follow me on Twitter!
John Colpitts, aka Kid Millions, is a founding member of the band Oneida, but he’s toured and recorded with tons of bands including Yo La Tengo, Spiritualized, Akron/Family, Marnie Stern, The Boredoms, and the Rumpus’s own Rick Moody. More recently, he’s focused on his solo percussion project, . Man Forever is currently on tour, and the new album, , which is a collaboration with the ensemble, comes out this month on Thrill Jockey.
Sweetheart of the rodeo Kid Millions (Oneida, Man Forever, People of the North, Spiritualized) drops in to "give the drummer some" and delivers an worst gig tale of monumental proportions that involves an eleven band bill in a creepy old hotel in the Santa Cruz mountains where a river runs through it, literally. Kid also speaks on Oneida's storied history, entertaining annoying British "journos," what Williamsburg was like before the Goldrush of '01, and the idea of "going for it." Spend a kouple of minutes in Kid's Korner on this week's WORST GIG EVER!
