ONE Question: Unapologetic Questions for Unapologetic Results

This is a question I've asked time and again, that's changed the game for me in every way, and my unapologetic answer is what's behind my booked out, multi-six-figure business as well as every personal win. In Episode 183, we jam on: the confronting conversation I had with my coach over five years ago, and ONE Question I've asked consistently ever since to focus and get what I want. the surprising way lack and scarcity thinking can show up for driven and high-achieving entrepreneurs, and how to use this question to take your power back, feel more in control, and set yourself up for your own inevitable success. the practical science behind the woo to help quiet the doubting voices in your head, shift your resistance, and allow you to benefit from your unapologetic answer for your own unapologetic results. the truth about timelines and how to draw a line in the sand to guarantee your outcomes. example responses you can borrow if you're feeling stuck, unclear, or limited, and my reminder for you before you try these on for size. Choosing to be an entrepreneur while navigating the complexities of motherhood requires an honest conversation. Let's not sugarcoat it – it can be challenging, and the guilt accompanying it can be overwhelming. Kristen welcomes Jennifer Allwood for an open and candid conversation exploring the challenges entrepreneurial women and moms face, emphasizing the importance of not letting guilt become a hindrance. In the pursuit of business, mothers might find themselves wrestling with guilt, but the resounding message is clear: Fear is not the boss of you. Let's look at a few highlights: Kristen and Jennifer touched upon a common struggle among women – the reluctance to give themselves permission to go all the way. It's a battle that's less about permission and more about confronting the fear that often lurks at the surface. Many women may inadvertently use their roles as mothers as excuses, feeling guilty about pursuing their entrepreneurial aspirations. The key takeaway is clear: It's impossible to do it all at once, and that's perfectly okay. Before being someone's mom, you were someone. Jennifer encouraged mothers to rediscover and embrace the identity that existed before the journey of motherhood began. The concept of "Entrepreneur Math" comes into play – the strategic art of delegation and prioritization. It's time to question why certain aspects are undervalued and consciously prioritize what truly matters. A common obstacle women face in their entrepreneurial journey is the fear of success. This fear can manifest as self-sabotage and excuses, hindering us from reaching our full potential. Motherhood and business don't have to compete – they can coexist, and by embracing both aspects with intentionality, we can create a life that aligns with our values and aspirations. The entrepreneurship journey intertwined with money, marriage, and motherhood is a multifaceted adventure. It's about breaking the chains of fear, guilt, and self-sabotage. It's about giving ourselves permission to be amazing at both, understanding that something will always have to give, and that's perfectly okay. The Bachelor franchise used to promise contestants the possibility of two things: true, happily-ever-after love… and a lucrative spotlight. Ben Higgins knows this, probably better than anyone. Many card-carrying members of Bachelor Nation would argue that Ben represents the peak of the franchise, but for Ben, that was just the beginning. Nicole talks to Ben about his business successes and failures, and the sometimes sticky topic of money in relationships. Ben shares how he and his wife Jess tackle their finances, how they navigated the uncomfortable topic of estate planning, and whether a Ben junior is on the horizon. Anna Ott died in the Wisconsin State Hospital for the Insane in 1893. She had enjoyed status and financial success first as a physician's wife and then as the only female doctor in Madison. Throughout her first marriage, attempts to divorce her abusive second husband, and twenty years of institutionalization, Ott determinedly shaped her own life. Kim E. Nielsen explores a life at once irregular and unexceptional. Historical and institutional structures, like her whiteness and laws that liberalized divorce and women's ability to control their property, opened up uncommon possibilities for Ott. Other structures, from domestic violence in the home to rampant sexism and ableism outside of it, remained a part of even affluent women's lives. Money, Marriage, and Madness: The Life of Anna Ott (U Illinois Press, 2020) tells a forgotten story of how the legal and medical cultures of the time shaped one woman--and what her life tells us about power and society in nineteenth century America. 53% of people report behaviors associated with financial infidelity, but only 27% of people admit to committing financial infidelity. This gap suggests that there are a lot of marriages suffering from financial secrecy that are in some degree of denial about it. Tune into this week's episode to learn what financial infidelity is, why it's such a problem, and how to spot problematic money behaviors in your marriage.
It's easy to see what's trendy when it comes to fashion, TV shows, and music, but with a taboo subject like money, it's a much different story. As a financial planner and a Certified Financial Therapist-Level I™ Practitioner, I am in a relatively unique position to understand the common themes and trends that are on couples' minds in 2022. And so, in this week's episode, I wanted to share the five most common things I'm seeing right now regarding how couples are managing their money together. I also provide strategies for how to handle the issues at hand for any of these trends that resonate with you and your spouse.
Suzanne explains what millennials get wrong when it comes to money and marriage. According to a 2021 Fidelity Investments Survey, one in five couples aged 25 and older who are either married or in a relationship identify money as their greatest relationship challenge. Over 50% of millennials don't want to get married “until their finances are in order.” Suzanne discusses why this is the wrong approach. Why being a TEAM, as opposed to living like roommates, is the surefire path to financial success when you're married Why being equal partners doesn't have to mean performing the same tasks NEW STUDY: "Pooling finances and relationship satisfaction" concludes that couples who pool all of their money, compared to couples who keep some or all of their money separate, experience greater relationship satisfaction and are less likely to break up. --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app
Money is the number one thing that couples argue about and next to infidelity it is the second highest cause for divorce. With 86% of couples starting out in debt in the last five years, it's no wonder that the higher the burden of debt, the more conflict it causes in the relationship. Today we are talking about Money and Marriage to help you get unstuck and unstoppable with Financial Coach Cassie Rajewich. Listen in to learn: Why money causes such big problems in marriages The 3 keys we need for our marriage and money matters How spending plans (aka budgets) are critical to us gaining traction The power of unity in our finances Favorite Verses: Where there is unity, God commands a blessing. (Psalm 133) “I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing.” John 15:5 “The rich rule over the poor, and the borrower is slave to the lender.” Proverbs 22:7 Favorite Quotes: “There are usually spenders and savers in a relationship, so we aren't in agreement.” – Cassie Rajewich “Instead of calling it a budget, call it a spending plan.” – Tiffany Jo Baker “When people come together in a strategic unified front (for their finances) that's where there's more power and blessing.” – Tiffany Jo Baker Check out all the things Cassie Rajewich is up to here. What's your favorite excuse? For me, it's that I don't have enough. I hate to admit this, but I wake up in the morning, and the first thing I think is, “I didn't get enough sleep last night.” Then it's “there's not enough coffee or milk for breakfast.” So now I'm not going to have enough energy to do all my work. And I don't have enough time to go get more. And even if I did have the time, I don't have enough money right now. And that's why I need to get busy with work because if I don't, my husband will think I'm not doing enough. And if he thinks I'm not doing enough, he won't love me enough. And if he doesn't love me enough, then I won't be enough. And if I'm not enough, What's the point? Most days it doesn't usually go to that extreme, but it's not hard to see how we get there right? And that's why today I want to talk with you about scarcity in money, marriage, and ministry. I'm also going to share with you some very important questions you need to ask yourself in order to get into alignment with the truth, especially in relation to your God-given desires. Let me be real with you about my own excuses and what I'm doing to lay them down before the Lord and I'm going to invite you to do the same. My prayer is that as we get honest about these issues we will be able to not only heal but thrive. --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/foreverlove/message

In this episode, Ryan and Katie Anderson talk through one of the most powerful things they have done to strengthen their marriage: share their financial info with a group of friends. We have a conversation on what they did, why they did it, and what that one conversation seven years ago led to in their marriage. Revealing our financial info feels off limits and strange, even in our deep church relationships where we are not hesitant to talk through sex, pornography, anger, doubt...why? Keeping these issues to ourselves and siloed in our marriages is a recipe for sin and miscommunication with our spouse. Opening our whole life, including our money life, to trusted friends takes away the burden of walking through financial issues alone and gives us a lifeline if money is leading to stress, pain, and hurt in our marriages. We invite all of you to listen and reach out to us if you are interested in doing something similar.
