Pop the kettle on! Welcome back to Our Creative Commune, Episode 108. Pete, Laura, Liam, and Bee are here with the usual coffee-fuelled chaos, chatting all things wedding photography and videography. This week, the pollen count is trying to take us OUT, Liam's back from a surprisingly chilly Spanish wedding (his 21st there! Buckfast may have been mentioned), and snapping portraits of the lovely Martin Cheung. We swear everyone else has been doing some work too!Things have gone a bit crazy – suddenly everyone wants to book us, pay us, and meet us! We're navigating the 'OMG money!' vs ‘****, tax bill!' tightrope, and, of course, drooling over rumoured new cameras. Liam's also attempting to bring back the 90s with film photography (spoiler: he forgot the film). Then we get stuck into the proper meaty stuff: Is it cool for photographers to shoot a bit of video (or videographers to grab stills) when you're both on a job? What do you do when a supplier you recommended bails for a stag do THE NIGHT BEFORE?! And you absolutely HAVE to hear the story of the 'Scottish Retreat' – think Fyre Festival, but for photographers. Seriously, it's a car crash. As always, we've got our highs (awards night planning is looking lush!) and lows (Pete's hay fever, Bee's iron levels, Liam's twitchy eye – it's a medical marvel over here). Plus, we day-dream up our own hopefully-not-a-disaster creative retreat. So grab that coffee (or a Buckfast, no judgement) and join the commune!Watch on YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@OurCreativeCommuneTIMESTAMPS:00:00 - Hello & What's In Our Mugs?00:32 - Hay Fever vs. Wedding Pros: The Struggle is Real03:00 - Liam's Spanish Wedding No.21 (Minus the Sun, Plus the Buckfast)06:25 - Liam Shoots Martin Cheung07:02 - Are Shorter Weddings The New Thing?09:00 - It's All Kicking Off! Wedding season is kicking off! Join Pete, Laura, Liam, and Bee as they shake off the winter slumber (and recover from some intense DIY projects) and dive back into the world of weddings. This week, we tackle the hot topic: is 35mm film making a comeback? We discuss a client request, the pros and cons of shooting film today, the costs, the nostalgia factor, and whether digital can truly replicate the look. Plus, is Liam finally gearing up to actually try it!We contrast the analogue love with the rise of AI editing and culling tools – are they helpful or hindering authenticity? We also get real about the business side: handling unexpected cancellations, the ethics of contracts and refunds (including a tricky divorce scenario), and the changing landscape of referrals in industry groups. Hear about recent weddings in Scotland and the Lakes, dealing with tricky lighting, and our usual highs and lows. Out in the New Mexican landscape three Spanish words were carved in store 442 years ago - “Pasó Por Aquí.” Translation: “Passed this way.” "Passed by here." Pasó Por Aquí. You can breathe these words wherever you find yourself today. Because wherever your journey has taken you at this moment, Pasó Por Aquí is your testimony as well as mine. It is the testimony of everyone who surrounds us. We're just pilgrims passing through. Pasó Por Aquí. Passed this way. Passed by here. It denotes the journey, not the destination. The travel, not the arrival. Pasó Por Aquí. Bodies in motion walking across terra firma that never stops spinning. Human satellites that seldom sit. Pasó Por Aquí. Even when standing still we're rotating at a 1000 miles per hour while speeding through space at 67,000 miles per hour. Pasó Por Aquí. You're not where you were when you started to read these words mere seconds ago. Pasó Por Aquí. Featuring "Pilgrim" by John Mark McMillan (Used by Permission through Musicbed).

Join me as I share a deeply personal journey, marking the near fifth anniversary of the Wednesdays with Watson podcast. Born from the solitude of the pandemic and my struggle with PTSD, this episode takes you through the significant moments that shaped my path toward healing. From a life-altering stay in a psychiatric hospital to moving in with a friend who transformed my approach to counseling, we explore the profound role of faith, community, and a trauma-informed support system in navigating life's darkest periods. In a candid discussion, I recount the decision to entrust my journey to Dr. Pettit, a Christian counselor who became a beacon of hope and safety. Despite my initial skepticism about having a male counselor, his approach turned a meeting room into a sanctuary for healing. Through recounting sessions filled with breakthroughs and challenges, this episode underscores how a worldview larger than oneself can be pivotal in recovery. You'll hear about heartwarming and sometimes humorous anecdotes, like my notorious sense of direction, even on the simplest drives from Clearwater to St. Pete.As we recount the trials of facing threatening emails during hospital stays and the solace found in unexpected friendships, this episode is a testament to the transformative power of support and connection. The narrative reinforces a powerful message: no matter how bleak circumstances may appear, hope is unwavering, and every story is still being written. As the podcast approaches its fifth year, we celebrate not just survival, but the discovery of purpose and worth in the face of adversity."Safe in Your Arms" by Josh Baldwin, used by permission MusicBed.com You ARE:SEEN KNOWN HEARD LOVED VALUED

Welcome back to the Kitchen, Chefs
Welcome to the first fresh Table of 2025. A New Year is only an imaginary line on a calendar, but there's something about a fresh start that appeals to us. I think it might be because we all know we need one. The coming of the greatest fresh start the world has ever been offered was celebrated a few days ago. And now, we have just stepped into a lesser one. Brand new in some ways; same old in others. Thanksgiving preceded Christmas and a New Year comes along like an encore to grant us one more song of gratitude. To be grateful for the year that was. To be grateful for whatever possibilities lie ahead. To be grateful for the journey that will be. One gratitude for what just happened. The next for all we anticipate in the next 12 months. The final gratitude for all we hope to be declaring one year from now. Today's episode explores the season that has not quite left us yet. The world may be hastening on; there is no need for our souls to join the rush. You're invited one more time to "rest beside the weary road and hear the angels sing!" Featuring "May You Find a Light" by Josh Garrels (Used by Permission through Musicbed).

Bronte, a family medicine resident with a significant TikTok following, brings her passionate perspective on social justice and women's rights to the conversation. Isabel Brown, host of The Isabel Brown Show and conservative voice who has worked with Turning Point USA, offers a different view. As an author of "The End of the Alphabet: How Gen Z Can Save America," she shares insights on faith, dating, and politics through a conservative lens. What a joy it is to bring Christmas and hope to those in need, all over the world, and hear the stories of such great men and women dedicated to this mission work! We had the awesome opportunity to track down and visit with Rev. Ken Harbaum, our dear friend and long-time ministry partner of JMICF and TMM.About Pastor Kenneth HarbaumIn 2008, Pastor Harbaum fulfilled a lifelong goal to establish a means of providing missionaries with practical management services so they can focus on ministry. He established this administrative ministry through Covenant Global Evangelism (CGE). CGE's purpose is to keep missionaries in the field with little concern about how they will keep in contact with their partners and handling resources given for their overseas ministry. After much prayer and confirmation for God, the name of Full Gospel Temple was changed to Covenant of Peace Church on January 1, 2015. The mission and vision of the church remains the same. The name of the church was changed to reflect the covenant of God's peace that we as believers share with our heavenly father.Today, thanks to his friends and partners in ministry, Lightnings of God Ministries still puts an intense effort into fulfilling the call by taking qualified teams into Kenya and conducting seminars for pastors and leaders. The growth of Lightnings of God Ministries has included a Branch Office in Kenya along with local churches under the name of Covenant of Peace Church.Pastor Harbaum is honored to serve on Dr. Mark T. Barclay's President Cabinet for the Righteous Preachers Network. Pastor Harbaum is also the Director of the World Missions Department for the Full Gospel Fellowship of Churches and Ministers Int'l.Learn More: https://copiministries.orgWebsite: https://terrymize.comOrphan Giving Site: https://orphan1.comGIVE HERE! https://cutt.ly/ttW2I5ZFollow Terry Mize Ministries on FACEBOOK: https://cutt.ly/terrymizeministries-FACEBOOKYOUTUBE: https://youtube.com/user/terrymizeministriesListen to the Terry Mize Podcast- https://cutt.ly/TfnK8I6ABOUT THE MINISTRY OF TERRY L.
