In this episode of "Gerrin' on wi' it," Paul Hayes speaks with Dr Dan Olner from the University of Sheffield about bridging the gap between academia and local government. As a policy fellow embedded within the South Yorkshire Mayoral Combined Authority (SYMCA), Dan shares his experiences working at the intersection of data science, regional economic policy, and collaborative governance. Dan discusses his dual role as both university researcher and embedded policy analyst, explaining how he helps answer critical questions about South Yorkshire's economy, growth sectors, and regional strengths. Rather than operating as a traditional academic expert transmitting knowledge from on high, he describes a collaborative model where experts from different backgrounds work together on equal footing. Dan contrasts his ongoing, open approach with traditional consultant models, emphasising the value of sustained relationships and accessible data. The conversation also examines the sustainability of such embedded roles, the benefits to both academics and policymakers, and the need for collaborative funding from national bodies, regional authorities, and universities to mainstream this type of engagement. Ultimately, Dan makes a compelling case for why these bridging roles matter for evidence-based policymaking and regional development. This episode was recorded on 17 December 2025. If you would like to get in touch, please contact contact@y-pern.org.uk. A transcript of this episode is available. About the speakers: Paul Hayes is Senior Policy Engagement Fellow at Leeds University Business School, supporting academic colleagues in developing impacts from their work and in engaging with the policy community and public bodies. He was formerly corporate policy manager at Wakefield Council and policy lead for the Key Cities Group, an association of 27 mid-size UK cities. This role encompassed policy advisory work to local, regional and national politicians; development and authorship of local and regional strategies and plans; engagement with and representation on working groups of UK government and national bodies; and responses to consultations. The role also included scoping, commissioning, and joint development of academic and think tank research and engagement with business and voluntary and community sectors. Dr Dan Olner is a data analyst and geographer based in the School of Management at Sheffield University and, through the Yorkshire & Humber Policy Engagement Research Network (Y-PERN), is working with South Yorkshire Mayoral Combined Authority on all things economic and regional and data. Dan hasn't strayed far from Yorkshire, studying politics at Sheffield University and a PhD at Leeds University. Find out about Dan's work at

"And it was night." In this sermon on John 13:18-38, we witness the darkest moment in the Upper Room as Judas leaves to betray Jesus. We also see Peter overestimate his own loyalty, promising to die for a King he would soon deny.Yet, in the middle of this betrayal and weakness, Jesus gives a command that changes history: "Love one another as I have loved you." Join us as we explore the tragedy of self-reliance and the power of sacrificial love.#John13 #Betrayal #NewCommandment #BibleStudy #JesusChrist
836 Worshiping with Fasting and Prayer Night and Day, A Guided Christian Meditation on Luke 2:36-38 with the Recenter With Christ app The purpose of this podcast is to help you find more peace in and connect with the true source of peace, Jesus Christ. Outline: Relaxation, Reading, Meditation, Prayer, Contemplation and Visualization. You can sit comfortably and uninterrupted for about 20 minutes. You should hopefully not be driving or anything tense or unrelaxing. If you feel comfortable to do so, I invite you to close your eyes. Guided Relaxation / Guided Meditation: Breathe and direct your thoughts to connecting with God. Let your stomach be a balloon inflate, deflate. Scripture for Meditation RSV 36 And there was a prophetess, Anna, the daughter of Phan′u-el, of the tribe of Asher; she was of a great age, having lived with her husband seven years from her virginity, 37 and as a widow till she was eighty-four. She did not depart from the temple, worshiping with fasting and prayer night and day. 38 And coming up at that very hour she gave thanks to God, and spoke of him to all who were looking for the redemption of Jerusalem. NAB 36 There was also a prophetess, Anna, the daughter of Phanuel, of the tribe of Asher. She was advanced in years, having lived seven years with her husband after her marriage, 37 and then as a widow until she was eighty-four. She never left the temple, but worshiped night and day with fasting and prayer. 38 And coming forward at that very time, she gave thanks to God and spoke about the child to all who were awaiting the redemption of Jerusalem. Reflection on Scripture: The prophetess, Anna, dedicated her life to God. This scripture outlines her frequency in the temple as well as prayer and fasting. She was where God's presence was represented to be. As a result she was able to see the redemption of God and was able to share it. Catholics and Orthodox Christians hold Anna in reverence as a Saint. It is such an interesting micro story that is shared here. The woman is called a prophetess and it references her father as though we are supposed to know who he is. Or perhaps symbolically because his name means "Face of God" One fact that is hard to deny is that if we spend our time where godly things happen, we are more likely to encounter godly things. If we want to encounter God more in our life we should ponder on going to the places where His presence is represented for example church and making our home a sanctuary to the Lord. I sometimes reflect on the nature of this dedication. Obviously us as fallen and sinful humans don't get to decide where God goes based on what we dedicate to Him. God can choose to go anywhere God wants to go. With that said, when we dedicate places to God and set it apart, such as the Temple, we put ourselves in the kind of mind where we look for and see God more. Perhaps it is because he chooses to bless us with His presence to encourage us to do more of the things that He wants. So the invitation stands for us to dedicate our homes as sanctuaries to God and treat them as such, not making habits of sins that would challenge that dedication. Also spending time with Godly music, and also spending time in community with others in church attendance and worship. Also making prayer and fasting a part of our process of building a relationship with the Lord. Meditation of Prayer: Pray as directed by the Spirit. Dedicate these moments to the patient waiting, when you feel ready ask God for understanding you desire from Him. Meditation of God and His Glory / Hesychasm: I invite you to sit in silence feeling patient for your own faults and trials. Summarize what insights you have gained during this meditation and meditate and visualize positive change in your life: This is a listener funded podcast at patreon.com/christianmeditationpodcast Final Question: If you consider the invitation and command to persevere in the faith, what change in your life does that bring to your mind? Welcome back to Everymum the podcast, I'm Aisling Keenan, your host, and my guest this week is a returning guest, the lovely Kelly Donegan. Many of you will know her from her Tallafornia past, but that's very far in the rearview for Kelly now. And as we chat today, her 12 week old son Jesse makes his little voice known, so if you hear some baby gurgles, I promise it's not me OR Kelly. Kelly joined me a second time for very good reason – I was dying to chat to her about her VBAC, or vaginal birth after caesarean, which she spoke about online at the time of Jesse's birth. Her first delivery on her daughter Cherry was so traumatic for her that when we spoke the first time she was sad, tired, angry, emotional, the full gamut of feelings. This time, well. She didn't stop smiling for the entire recording, even when talking about the 10 out of 10 contraction pain she was feeling during delivery. Motherhood changes us all, but motherhood seems to have changed Kelly twice – and I just find it absolutely fascinating how different her two birth experiences were. I know you'll enjoy this episode, I loved recording it as I just LOVE a happy birth story. Back next week with more chats. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.
Start with a laugh, stay for the clarity. We open by poking at flat‑earth tangents and headline noise, then zero in on what actually moves health: the words we use, the food we choose, and the daily habits that tell our cells whether to panic or repair. I break down why calling disease “chronically fermenting cells” changes the frame from doom to metabolism, then map the core strategy—remove impediments, restore essentials, let biology work.We go deep on NAC versus glutathione in plain English. NAC supplies cysteine, the rate‑limiting amino acid for glutathione; healthy cells use it quickly, while dysfunctional cells often don't. That's a smarter redox play than pushing IV glutathione that can be hijacked. From there, we slice through diet myths—kale and oxalates, soy, seed oils, lignans, “anti‑nutrients”—and rebuild a human plate that supports detox, microbiome resilience, and autophagy: plants in their colors, fiber as a rule, time‑restricted eating, and finishing meals five hours before bed for overnight cleanup. The Q&A gets gritty and useful. We challenge “baseline” MRIs that don't change action, talk parasites the right way (botfly larvae need extraction; tapeworms need properly dosed cycles like albendazole, praziquantel, niclosamide, nitazoxanide), and outline child‑safe, weight‑based regimens with liver support. Severe autism? Consider supervised chelation (DMSA/EDTA), real food, vitamin C and D at meaningful levels, and gentle juice fasts. Juvenile arthritis? Think triggers, toxins, mold, and gut permeability—then treat cause, not just inflammation. On a tight budget, I give the short list: vitamin C, D3/K2, mixed carotenoids and E, melatonin, iodine/thyroid guidance, fasting, movement, and sleep before supplements sprawl. When cases are advanced—lung lesions with brain spread—we add integrative oncology: IV vitSend us a text Join Dr. Lodi's Inner Circle membership and unlock exclusive access to webinars, healthy recipes, e-books, educational videos, live Zoom Q&A sessions with Dr. Lodi, plus fresh content every month. The siddur is not a hymnal; it is a symphony. It has been carefully composed to guide the soul through the unfolding drama of redemption. Far from being a random collection of prayers, the traditional Jewish prayer book is deliberately structured to echo the story of Israel's salvation and to awaken our longing for its fulfillment. This lecture explores how the rhythms and themes of the siddur prepare us to recognize, desire, and live in the light of redemption.

Ole Miss gave Caden Davis the kicking opportunity Texas A&M wouldn't.‘Cause make no mistake: Davis, admittedly, realized a childhood dream in spending four season as an Aggie. Texas A&M was his favorite team growing up.But Davis rarely saw the field outside of kickoffs, while Ole Miss offered a starting opportunity place-kicking, too. Even better, Davis was gonna get to hang around the SEC, the powerhouse conference of college football.Of course he transferred.“Ole Miss and A&M are night-and-day different culture-wise,” said Davis, the next guest on the Ole Miss Spirit's ‘Ivey League' podcast, powered by RiverLand Roofing. “I've loved it here since I've gotten here.“After four years and waiting and never getting my shot, it was a no-brainer (to leave). The coaching staff here, the culture within the players and the locker room, it's night-and-day different to Texas A&M. That's a big reason why we've had success here and why we didn't have a lot of success at A&M.”For all your roofing needs, text or call RiverLand Roofing today at (662) 644-4297. DO YOURSELF A FAVOUR. DON'T BOTHER WATCHING THIS DRAMA. Judy and Linda are dumbfounded by "Miss Night and Day" (낮과 밤이 다른 그녀), the JTBC drama starring Jung EunJi, Lee JungEun and Choi JinHyuk. Since we have decided to abandon this nonsensical show, we will instead be starting "Lovely Runner" (선재 업고 튀어), starring Byeon WooSeok and Kim HyeYoon. Digressions: 1:09 - Listener E-mails! 10:29 - Linda has started "Lovely Runner" (선재 업고 튀어) and is now hooked! 12:34 - Judy watched "Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga" in the theatres and enjoyed it very much. 15:40 - We've misled you! "Road to Avonlea" is not all free on GazeboTV after all, sadly. There are still some free episodes, so you can still check those out! 16:47 - Judy finally finished watching "Fallout" on Amazon Prime, starring Ella Purnell, Walton Goggins and Aaron Moten. It was a stylish adaptation of a beloved video game series, and you should check it out. Apparently Judy is on an apocalypse kick. 20:21 - Judy and Linda finished watching the third season of "Bridgerton" and it was predictably boring. Who cares anymore about this conflict, you guys. 23:57 - Judy picked up Sophie Kinsella's "The Burnout" on a whim in a physical bookstore! Even if you're not a fan of the "Confessions of a Shopaholic" series, this is a nice light read. Maya Marie & Night Wizards - "Night and Day," a 2023 self-released single Earlier this year, Seattle psych-pop band Night Wizards teamed up with soulful siren Maya Marie for the single "The Garden." Now they've reconvened for this sultry electro-pop jam. Here's hoping for a full-length from this collaboration in 2024. Seahawks are dead last in time of possession with teams like Arizona, New England and the Jets. This offense is way too talented to be in that mix. Pete Carroll says it's a night and day difference for Geno this week and didn't downplay the magnitude of this game in his presser yesterday and we revisit the KJ Wright show.
