Send Shirah Chante a TextIn this heartfelt continuation of Perfect Body, Shirah Chante shares a deeply personal reflection on love, loss, and the spiritual lessons hidden in unresolved relationships. Drawing from Proverbs 4:23, “Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it,” this episode explores how past love can quietly shape our present and even block our future.Through music, testimony, and prayer, Shirah opens up about reconnecting with a college love after more than 30 years and the powerful revelation God brought through that conversation. Sometimes the “issues of life” flowing from our hearts are tied to endings that were never healed. What if closure isn't about going back but about being released to move forward? If you've ever struggled to understand why love felt out of reach, this episode will encourage you to examine your heart, seek resolution, and trust that God's design for love is intentional and redemptive. It's time to build on the Rock, so when the storms come, your love will stand.Support the show

In this parasha Beshalach on "Shabbat Shirah" – "The (Red Sea rescue) Song-Shabbat" – we hear sung, "And you have become my salvation." This salvation/rescue is not some meager, just-barely-effective deflection of the sabotages of God's Adversary (Ha-Sa-táhn). It is the UTTERMOST "rescue" God can provide, leaving BOTH our Free-Will and His Sovereign Will honorably intact. Not "meager" - but "to the uttermost" we are saved. We explore this together now. Shalom!

https://www.butterflyonbooks.com/book-package/ben ...  In this episode, we dive into the mission of Resilient Peeps, an Oakland-based collective led by Shirah Wagner that is reimagining emergency preparedness as an act of radical community solidarity. At a time when political systems often feel fragile and social fabrics are fraying, Resilient Peeps suggests that our greatest hope lies not in bunkers or isolation, but in the strength of our neighborhood networks. Wagner and her team translate complex federal procedures into inclusive, "people-friendly" strategies—ranging from situational awareness in volatile contexts to mutual aid organizing. By framing preparedness as "resilience as rebellion," they offer a powerful antidote to fear, proving that when we organize for the worst, we actually build the trust and connection needed to make our everyday lives better. It's a vision of political hope rooted in the belief that while the systems above us may falter, the people beside us are exactly who we need to survive and thrive. https://www.piedmontaveresiliencecommittee.com/ https://www.resilientpeeps.com/

There was such a feeling of fun and excitement when I chose my bold colored, striped spread for my twin dorm room bed, posters to hang on the wall and courses to take at Penn State. I don't recall anyone giving me mace or offering tips or advice on how to stay safe when walking alone or heading off to a frat party. Thankfully, I managed to make it through my years without being assaulted or harmed, even though I made some really dumb choices to walk alone intoxicated through dark alleyways and spend time alone with young men who were also intoxicated. Today young women face even more threats with their drinks being spiked . We are at least fortunate that more people are talking about assaults and educating on how to prevent it from happening to you. This week I'm featuring highlights from two amazing prior podcast conversations about the topic of safety for young women. After Chelsea and I attended her amazing event where we got to meet other founders, business owners, VCs and new startups it was clear that Shirah knew what she was doing and an unstoppable force. Her story began as a teen whose friend had her drink spiked at an outing which led to Shirah thinking that there has to be a way to stop that from happening. Her thought turned to immediate action where she took a scrunchie and other materials and created a rough prototype that essentially covered any drink to prevent from drink spiking. With the help of her family she took her idea and started to work with manufacturers and production facilities until the exact idea became a reality which is now called NIGHTCAPit. As a result, she was invited on Shark Tank and pitched her idea where Shark Lori Greiner invested in helping her grow the product. Shirah has sold over 500k products in over 40 countries and now focusing on legislation where bars, clubs and other places will have to provide a covering on drinks if asked for. Now, Shirah focuses her time on running her business from anywhere she pleases and looks to connect and grow with other founders and business owners. If you are thinking about an idea, starting a business or seeking an entrepreneurial journey she says "throw yourself into it' and make it become a reality. You can reach Shirah @shirahbenarde or @palmbeachfounders or learn more about her product @nightcapit or www.nightcapit.com. We hope you enjoy the show!

On SUPERWOMEN, I talked to Shirah Benarde, the 22-year-old CEO and co-founder of NightCap. When she was just 16, Shirah found out that one of her friends had been roofied. Not long after, she got to work, taping together a pair of pantyhose and a scrunchie to make a prototype of a device that can help protect people from drink-spiking. Cut to one year later: Shirah and her brother Michael pitched the product on “Shark Tank” and secured a deal. But launching her business as a Gen Z founder was far from easy. “I knew deep down that I had no idea what I was doing, and that made it really hard for other people to see me in a professional way,” she told me. Shirah pushed herself to really understand her business, making costly mistakes along her journey.“We definitely spent a lot of money on things that we didn't know that worked,” she said, “but it was a huge learning lesson.” In the process of building her company, she discovered how to get people to trust her vision: “You have to take yourself seriously.” NightCap has since taken off, partnering with nonprofits, and over 200 universities. The company has also been spearheading legislation to help people stay safe when they go out. This week on SUPERWOMEN, I talked to @shirahbenarde, the 22-year-old CEO and co-founder of @nightcapit about drink-spiking and her life-saving (literally!) accessories that help people stay safe when they go out. Shirah lets us in how she deals with the stigma of being a Gen Z woman in business, her time on “Shark Tank,” and how she personally convinced the CEO of a multinational fashion company at a conference to team up with her company.Thank you for listening! NightCap, as Shirah describes it, is a fun solution to a serious problem. She shares how having something slipped into your drink is a much more serious problem than many are aware of. This is often due to the fact that most incidents do not get reported. This happened to one of her friends when she was a teenager, and she was inspired to design a product that deters bad actors and also serves as a method of prevention for having your drink tampered with when you are out having fun. With the help of her family, she was able to turn this idea into a successful business. When you socialize regularly in college, you tend to develop deep and lasting relationships. Even if some of the connections are shorter-term, they can support you in different ways. For example, maybe a college friend in your major is interested in starting a business with you.   According to American Addictions Centers, around 50 percent of women and men surveyed have had their drinks or food spiked at least once. This is a major issue facing Americans. It is also not an act that always involves street drugs being discreetly slipped into a victim's drink. Most often, alcohol is used to facilitate the crime of drug-assisted sexual assault. What also complicates spiking may be a lack of confidence in reporting the issue or even recognizing the symptoms.   Shirah Benarde is the CEO and Co-Founder at NightCap, an innovative company addressing drink spiking prevention. NightCap was invented by Shirah Benarde from West Palm Beach, Florida when she was 16 years old. The idea came to her in a dream after hearing about the horrors of drink spiking from friends who experienced it after going off to college. Fortunately, her friends were okay, but Shirah was determined to come up with a pragmatic solution to this problem that could protect her and her friends when they went off to college.   Shirah, a 21-year-old Forbes 30 Under 30 honoree and co-founder of NightCap, transformed a personal tragedy into a mission to safeguard nightlife after a friend fell victim to drink spiking. At just 17, she appeared on Shark Tank, securing one of the fastest deals in the show's history. NightCap has since sold over 500,000 units across 40+ countries and partnered with over 170 major universities.   She also wanted to make sure that the product would be something that girls would feel comfortable using. The next morning, she went to her mother's closet, grabbed a pair of pantyhose, cut them up, and attached them to a scrunchie to create the first prototype.   For more information: https://nightcapit.com/ Follow: @nightcapit
