IF YOU DIDN'T CRY, YOU'RE A MONSTER. Judy and Linda give up on trying not to cry through their discussion of the latter half of "When Life Gives You Tangerines" (폭삭 속았수다), starring IU, Park BoGum, Moon SoRi and Park HaeJoon.     Our next episode will cover KPop Demon Hunters, an animated movie coming out on Netflix on June 20! It stars Arden Cho and Ahn HyoSeop. Are you excited for Linda's incandescent rage? Time to watch "Rogue One"! 16:52 - If you're a fan of ballet and dancing, Linda recommends "Etoile", a "Gilmore Girls"-esque show set in New York and Paris. 19:35 - Judy is playing "It Takes Two", a fun co-op puzzle platformer game. It's basically like "Honey, I Shrunk the Kids", if you remember that 1989 gem.     Some Korean terms: 파투: [pah-too] to call off (as in a wedding). 우리 집 안 보게 하고 살게: [oo-ri-jip-an-bo-geh-ha-go-sal-geh] 얼씨구: [eol-ssi-goo] exclamation of surprise admiration as in, "Hooray!" or "Look at you!"; can be used sarcastically as in, "Yeah right!" 저승사자: [jeo-seung-sa-ja] grim reaper. 앵벌이: [aeng-beol-ee] begging. 부족하다: [boo-jok-ha-da] to be lacking. 있어보이다: [eet-seo-bo-ee-da] to look fancy; literally "to look like you have it".       Audio clips: Son Lux - "Thunderbolts" - "Thunderbolts" Nicholas Britell - "Andor" - "Main Title" Kristofer - "It Takes Two" - "Deadly Disco"     Please send any questions, comments or suggestions on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram (@kdramamyeyesout) or e-mail us (kdramamyeyesout(at)gmail.com).   You can become our patron at patreon.com/kdramamyeyesout for as little as $1 per month!     Download this and other episodes and while you're there, write us a review:   Apple Podcasts   Google Podcasts   Spotify   Libsyn RSS   The KDMEO theme music is 'Relaxing Ballad', by Alexander Nakarada (www.creatorchords.com) Licensed under Creative Commons BY Attribution 4.0 License https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/

FYI - I CRIED EDITING THIS. Judy and Linda try not to outright sob through their discussion of "When Life Gives You Tangerines" (폭삭 속았수다), starring IU, Park BoGum, Moon SoRi and Park HaeJoon.     Digressions:   0:57 - New Patreon donor and Listener E-mails! 12:21 - Judy watched "Twisters", starring Glen Powell and Kiernan Shipka. It just didn't have the same charm as the 1996 film. Boo. 14:20 - Linda was surprisingly absorbed by "1883" and "1923", prequels to "Yellowstone". Who knew she would be so into Westerns? 18:08 - Judy read "Convenience Store Woman" by Sayaka Murata and was fascinated by the POV of the main character and her unusual way of dealing with the pressure to conform in society. 20:30 - Judy watched "Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny" and couldn't believe she slept through the climax. Yikes.      Some Korean terms: 감사합니다: [gam-sa-hap-ni-da] "thank you", formally. 폭삭 속았수다: [pok-sak-sok-at-soo-da] "thank you for your hard work", in Jeju dialect. 사랑에 빠진게 죄가 아니잖아: [sa-rang-eh-ppa-jin-geh-jweh-ga-a-ni-jan-a] "It's not a crime to fall in love". 해녀: [heh-nyeo] traditional Korean women divers. 잠녀: [jam-nyeo] Jeju dialect for "해녀". 배째: [beh-jjeh] "I will never give in"; literally "slit open your belly". 짜증나: [jja-jeung-na] "I'm so annoyed". 삐뚤어지다: [ppi-ddool-eo-jeot-seo] to be bent; to go down the wrong path, in reference to a delinquent person. 제사: [jeh-sa] death ritual.     Audio clips: Brian Tyler - "1883" - "1883 Theme" John Williams - "Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny" - "Auction at Hotel L'Atlantique" 김정미 (Kim JungMi) - "봄" (Spring)     Please send any questions, comments or suggestions on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram (@kdramamyeyesout) or e-mail us (kdramamyeyesout(at)gmail.com).

Judy and Linda watched "Melo Movie" (멜로무비), a Netflix drama starring Choi WooSik, Park BoYoung, Lee JunYoung, Jeon SoNee and Kim JaeWook.     Digressions:   0:46 - Listener E-mails! 17:28 - Judy is playing "Dragon Age: The Veilguard", but isn't romancing anybody! So far, the story feels a bit nebulous, but the gameplay feels great and she's enjoying it! Judy uses the wrong pronouns for the character of Taash, because she hasn't gotten to the point in the game where they confirms their pronouns as they/them. Sorry! 21:56 - Linda was hooked by the end of the first episode of "Paradise", starring James Marsden and has binged the entire first season! Check it out! 24:57 - Judy watched "The Witcher: Sirens of the Deep" animated film on Netflix, and it was goofy fun but we were not expecting straight up Little Mermaid. 27:04 - Linda watched "THE MOON" (더문)  starring D.O. about a lone astronaut who survives a disaster on the moon.     Some Korean terms: 솔의 눈: [sol-eui-noon] pine bud;     Audio clips: Hans Zimmer - "Dragon Age: The Veilguard" - "Dragon Age: The Veilguard Main Theme" Siddhartha Khosla - "Paradise" - "Welcome to Paradise" Joseph Trapanese - "The Witcher: Sirens of the Deep" - "Allamorax Attack" 하람 (feat. 기탁) - "더문" (THE MOON) - "The Moon"     Please send any questions, comments or suggestions on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram (@kdramamyeyesout) or e-mail us (kdramamyeyesout(at)gmail.com).

Hope it's good!   Digressions:   1:18 - Listener E-mails! 4:27 - Judy watched "The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent", starring Nicholas Cage and Pedro Pascal. It was a delightful meta action comedy, and you should check it out! 5:52 - Linda watched Part 2 of "Alienoid" (외계+인), and found a massive plot hole. 7:54 - Judy finished playing "Baldur's Gate 3" and is suffering from post-game depression once more. Time to catch up on the jillion games on her backlog! 9:51 - Linda watched the second season of "Night Agent" on Netflix, which is good to have on in the background.     11:59 - "When the Phone Rings" (지금 거신 전화는) is an MBC drama starring Yoo YeonSeok and Chae SooBin. Some things definitely work better as a webtoon. 31:04 - "The Queen Who Crowns" (원경) is a tvN drama starring Cha JooYoung and Lee HyunWook. The first episode is definitely scattered and hard to follow, but it shows much promise in terms of exploring the story of a very influential queen in Korean history.  42:19 - "The Trunk" (트렁크) is a Netflix drama starring Gong Yoo and Seo HyunJin. This one is weird, but we liked it? 49:55 - "The Trauma Code: Heroes on Call" (중증외상센터) is a Netflix drama, starring Ju JiHoon. Just don't take it too seriously.     Audio clips: Mark Isham - "The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent" - "Score Suite" 이병훈 (Lee ByungHoon) - "외계+인" (Alienoid) - "외계인" (Alien 1) Borislav Slavov - "Baldur's Gate 3" - "Main Theme Part I" Robert Duncan - "Night Agent" - "End Credits"     Please send any questions, comments or suggestions on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram (@kdramamyeyesout) or e-mail us (kdramamyeyesout(at)gmail.com).

Our first attempt at ASMR! 9:08 - New Patreon donor and Listener E-mails! 17:44 - "Borderlands" movie is irredeemably awful, and Judy can't figure out who is was made for, other than the actors who were extremely bored during the pandemic. 21:12 - Gasp! Linda watched "Revenant" (악귀) starring Kim TaeRi? New horizons have opened up! 24:02 - "Gladiator II" was so disappointing. If you have such an uncharismatic lead character, who am I supposed to root for? Judy is mad that there isn't enough Pedro Pascal.  29:03 - Linda finally watched "Mister Sunshine" (미스터 션샤인) and found it to be beautiful but long. 32:40 - Judy's new dinnertime show is "White Collar", starring Matt Bomer and Tim DeKay. 34:50 - Linda watched "Blitz" starring Saoirse Ronan on Apple TV, which is excellent for historical reference but aimless as a film. 37:55 - Judy started playing "Indiana Jones and the Great Circle", and is thrilled that she gets to be the whip-cracking archaeologist.  40:47 - Linda watched Part 1 of "Alienoid" (외계+인), and found it...interesting.     Some Korean terms: 솔의 눈: [sol-eui-noon] pine bud; literally "eye of pine" 머리까지 시원해지는 느낌: [meo-ri-kka-ji-shi-won-heh-ji-neun-neu-kkim] "cooling sensation to the top of your head". 파스: [pah-seu] pain relief patch for muscle ache. 뻔데기: [ppeon-deh-gi] silkworm chrysalis. 고구려: [go-goo-ryeo] kingdom in the Korean peninsula from approximately 500BCE to 918AD. 공기: [gong-gi] Korean game, similar to jacks. 제기: [jeh-gi] Korean version of hacky sack. 김밥: [gim-bap] rice roll.     Audio clips: 주인로 (Joo InRo) - "악귀" (Revenant) - "신내림" Harry Gregson-Williams - "Gladiator II" - "Overture" Hans Zimmer - "Blitz" - "September 1940" Gordy Haab - "Indiana Jones and the Great Circle" - "The Great Circle" 이병훈 (Lee ByungHoon) - "외계+인" (Alienoid) - "외계인" (Alien 1) 정재일 (Jung JaeIl) - "오징어게임" (Squid Game" - "그때 그 시절" (Way Back Then)     Please send any questions, comments or suggestions on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram (@kdramamyeyesout) or e-mail us (kdramamyeyesout(at)gmail.com).   You can become our patron at patreon.com/kdramamyeyesout for as little as $1 per month!     Download this and other episodes and while you're there, write us a review:   Apple Podcasts   Google Podcasts   Samsung Podcasts Spotify   Libsyn RSS   The KDMEO theme music is 'Relaxing Ballad', by Alexander Nakarada (www.creatorchords.com) Licensed under Creative Commons BY Attribution 4.0 License https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/

It was a fine way to kill some time. 14:54 - Like everyone else in the world, Linda has started watching season 3 of "Bridgerton". And like everyone else in the world, we can't remember exactly what happened at the end of season 2.  18:09 - Linda watched "20th Century Girl" (20세기 소녀), starring Kim YooJung and Byeon WooSeok. It's a documentary about a terrible crime in the suburbs of Toronto. 29:29 - Linda threw off Judy's calculations by taking the MBTI test again. She has abandoned the INFJ collective! 33:36 - Judy watched "Believer" (독전), starring Cho JinWoong, Ryu JunYeol and Cha SeungWon. It's no "The Usual Suspects", but Cho JinWoong was onscreen 95% of the time, so it was still a great time. 37:10 - Linda has been watching "Queen of Tears" (눈물의 여왕) like everyone else in Korea. It stars Kim JiWon and Kim SooHyun. 39:36 - Judy and Robert have been watching the second season of "Physical: 100", as motivation to get healthier in our advanced age. 42:18 - As a history buff, Linda watched "Masters of the Air" on Apple TV+. She enjoyed it, but it didn't have the level of character development that "Band of Brothers" did. 44:47 - ***SPOILER ALERT*** Judy dragged Robert to watch "Exhuma" (파묘), starring Kim GoEun, Lee DoHyun, Choi MinSik and Yoo HaeJin. Check it out on Netflix for a fun, easy watch! 2:36 - Judy didn't realize that she would get so into "Muscles & Mayhem: An Unauthorized Story of American Gladiators", but the documentary series does a great job of giving the cast the spotlight they deserve. 5:01 - "Renfield" is a weird gory movie about Dracula's put upon familiar. Nicolas Cage is his wacky self and Nicholas Hoult is great, as usual.     Some Korean terms:  간이식: [gan-ee-sik] liver transplant; sounds like 강희식 [gang-hee-sik]. 빵: [ppang] bread. 군소: [goon-so] sea hare.     Audio credits:   Lorne Balfe - "Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves" - "Thick As Thieves" Snap! - "Muscles & Mayhem: An Unauthorized Story of American Gladiators" - "The Power" Marco Beltrami - "Renfield" - "Renfield Blues"   Please send any questions, comments or suggestions on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram (@kdramamyeyesout) or e-mail us (kdramamyeyesout(at)gmail.com).   You can become our patron at patreon.com/kdramamyeyesout for as little as $1 per month!   Please check out Judy's Twitch channel (twitch.tv/ladyjutea) or her Instagram (@ladyjutea) for non-Kdrama geeky content! Good for the production team for swinging a Maserati sponsorship somehow? 36:36 - "The Devil's Plan" (데블스 플랜) is a Korean reality show, featuring brain games. Judy liked "The Genius" better, but is hopeful that future seasons will become more interesting. 41:17 - ***SPOILER ALERT*** Judy watched "Ahsoka" on Disney+, and was less than impressed.    Some Korean terms:  미안해요: [mi-an-heh-yo] "Sorry". 입맞춤: [ip-mat-choom] kiss. 뽀뽀: [ppo-ppo] peck, smooch. 비둘기: [bi-dul-gi] pigeon. 미친거 아냐?: [mi-chin-geo-ah-nyah] "Are you crazy?"; "Has it gone mad?" 힙하게: [hip-ha-geh] coolly. 한강: [han-gang] Han River. 무당: [moo-dang] shaman.   Audio credits:   Kevin Kiner - "Ahsoka" - "End Credits"   Please send any questions, comments or suggestions on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram (@kdramamyeyesout) or e-mail us (kdramamyeyesout(at)gmail.com).   You can become our patron at patreon.com/kdramamyeyesout for as little as $1 per month!   Please check out Judy's Twitch channel (twitch.tv/ladyjutea) or her Instagram (@ladyjutea) for non-Kdrama geeky content! Prepare yourself for a rant. 23:29 - Linda finished "See You in My 19th Life" (이번 생도 잘 부탁해), and it did go downhill very quickly. 27:29 - If you want a chill indie game, "Dordogne" is a beautiful watercolour depiction of the French countryside. Just don't expect a deep story arc. 32:12 - Linda feels too old to be watching "The Summer I Turned Pretty". 34:52 - Judy was very disappointed with the Marvel series, "Secret Invasion". Judy and Linda are finally back to catch up on some e-mails and give their First Impressions of "The Glory" (더 글로리), "Under the Queen's Umbrella" (슈룹), and "The Interest of Love" (사랑의 이해). The next episode will be about season 2 of "D.P." (Deserter Pursuit), starring Jung HaeIn, Koo KyoHwan, Son SeokKoo and Kim SungKyun. Sorry about audio issues with Judy's microphone!   Digressions:   2:43 - New Patreon donors and Listener E-mails! 33:40 - Judy recently played the "Resident Evil 4" remake, and had such a fun time fighting zombies and ineffectively flirting with hotties. You can check out VOD of her playthrough on Youtube. 37:04 - Linda has caught up on all seasons of "The Crown", and needs everyone to go to therapy. 39:28 - Linda also watched both "Enola Holmes" movies, and had a fun time. If only there was more of Henry Cavill! 40:53 - ***SPOILER ALERT*** Gasp! Linda is actually watching a K-drama? She started off liking "See You in My 19th Life" (이번 생도 잘 부탁해), but is not liking that the main characters have already gotten together.   46:01 - "The Interest of Love" (사랑의 이해) is a JTBC drama starring Yoo YeonSeok and Moon GaYoung, as bank staff who can't be together for some reason. I just typed that and immediately yawned.    54:46 - "Under the Queen's Umbrella" (슈룹) is a Netflix sageuk, starring Kim HyeSoo and Kim HaeSook. Judy was heartily annoyed by historical inaccuracies and Linda was simply bored.    59:53 - Finally, we talk about the revenge saga, "The Glory" (더 글로리) starring Song HyeKyo and Lim JiYeon. As bingeworthy as it was at the time of airing, the ending unfortunately left a bad taste in our mouths. If anyone at Netflix is paying attention, we don't need a second season of Song HyeKyo and Lee DoHyun getting revenge on the guy in jail, thanks. For an infinitely better revenge tale, read "The Count of Monte Cristo" by Alexandre Dumas (the unabridged version, Judy insists).   Some Korean terms:   아줌마: [ah-jum-ma] way to address an older woman. o: [ee-eung] In "The Glory", the character of Lim JiYeon's mother is named 홍영애. In Korean fortunetelling, both "ㅎ" and "ㅇ" count as the same letter, which made her the most dangerous to Lim JiYeon, according to the shaman. 선배: [seon-beh] person in an organization with more experience; opposite of "후배" [hoo-beh].   Audio credits: 2PM - "Heartbeat" Kota Suzuki - "Resident Evil 4" (2023) - "Baile de la Muerte" Hans Zimmer - "The Crown" - "Main Title"   Please send any questions, comments or suggestions on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram (@kdramamyeyesout) or e-mail us (kdramamyeyesout(at)gmail.com).   You can become our patron at patreon.com/kdramamyeyesout for as little as $1 per month!   Please check out Judy's Twitch channel (twitch.tv/ladyjutea) or her Instagram (@ladyjutea) for non-Kdrama geeky content! HALLO~!  Happy New Year! It's time to catch up with Judy and Linda.  Our next episode will be a First Impressions episode with "The Glory" (더 글로리) starring Song HyeKyo, "Under the Queen's Umbrella" (슈룹) starring Kim HyeSoo and "The Interest of Love" (사랑의 이해) starring Yoo YeonSeok and Moon GaYoung.    Digressions:   1:34 - Listener E-mails! 19:25 - Surprisingly, Linda is enjoying "Money Heist: Korea - Joint Economic Area" (종이의 집: 공동경제구역) and now the second season is out. 23:09 - Judy was disappointed by the Netflix show, "Korea No. 1" (코리아넘버원) with Yoo JaeSuk, Lee Kwang Soo and Kim YeonKoung. For a show that's supposed to impress you with the skill of master artisans, it focuses too much on the squabbling between the cast members.  26:44 - Linda finally tried "Community" and loves the first four seasons. Judy is ecstatic. Everyone should watch it, we say! 28:20 - "Andor" is Judy's favourite show from 2022. The struggles of regular people against the vast Empire in the Star Wars universe is portrayed in a way that makes the danger palpable and relatable.  30:06 - Linda binged the new popular series, "Wednesday" and found it to be good fun! 31:20 - Judy and Robert watched "Dragon Age: Absolution", an animated show on Netflix. It takes place soon after the events of the video game, "Dragon Age: Inquisition". Psst, Judy talked about the video game in KDMEO episode 181! 34:37 - Linda watched "Matilda the Musical" that was just released on Netflix and really enjoyed it. 37:17 - "Pentiment" is an excellent video game from Obsidian Entertainment and Judy wishes more people had played it for its deep dive into art, religion and faith in the Renaissance era. The VOD of Judy's playthrough is now up on Youtube. 41:38 - Linda's favourite kpop group, NCT DREAM, has remade the first generation kpop classic, "Candy". Click here to watch their music video. Then click here to watch H.O.T's remastered video.  43:30 - Judy is currently playing as a 1940s detective in "L.A. Noire" and is constantly wondering if she's doing it right.    50:04 - Judy and Linda check out some Kdrama trailers to pick out the candidates for the First Impressions episode.    Some Korean terms:   국뽕: [gook-ppong] slang for national pride.   Audio credits: 김태성 (Kim TaeSung) - "Money Heist: Korea - Joint Economic Area" (종이의 집: 공동경제구역) - "Opening Theme" The 88 - "At Least It Was Here" Nicholas Britell - "Andor" - "Main Title" Danny Elfman & Chris Bacon - "Wednesday" - "Main Titles" Penka Kouneva - "Dragon Age: Absolution" - "Opening Credits" Tim Minchin - "Matilda the Musical" - "School Song" Alkemie Early Music Ensemble - "Pentiment" - "Sister Amalie's First Vision" NCT DREAM - "Candy" Andrew Hale - "L.A. When will we get another fun nostalgic show? 24:02 - Judy and Linda suddenly become variety show experts and critique "Young Actors' Retreat" (청춘MT).  32:15 - Linda is very into IU's music right now. It's very good! There's nothing else to say about that.   34:03 - "If You Wish Upon Me" (당신이 소원을 말하면) is a feel good drama from KBS, and stars SooYoung, Ji ChangWook and Sung DongIl. It is literally our favourite out of the three we checked out. Good for you, SooYoung! 44:09 - "Good Job" (굿잡) is a heist drama, starring YuRi and Jung IlWoo. All we have to say about this show is: EAGLE VISION. 55:32 - "Jinxed At First" (징크스의 연인) is a fantasy ?romance from KBS2, starring SeoHyun and Na InWoo. It is one of the most nonsensical things we have ever seen.    1:12:05 - We skim through the list of kdramas coming out in November and are unimpressed.   Some Korean terms:   내숭: [neh-soong] coy. 천재: [cheon-jeh] genius.   Audio credits: Markus Schmidt - "Call of Cthulhu" - "Hospital #3" Spice Girls - "Who Do You Think You Are" IU - "Lilac"   Please send any questions, comments or suggestions on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram (@kdramamyeyesout) or e-mail us (kdramamyeyesout(at)gmail.com).   You can become our patron at patreon.com/kdramamyeyesout for as little as $1 per month!   Please check out Judy's Twitch channel (twitch.tv/ladyjutea) or her Instagram (@ladyjutea) for non-Kdrama geeky content! PUT TWO AND TWO TOGETHER!!! Judy and Linda were fine with "Extraordinary Attorney Woo" (이상한 우영우), an ENA drama starring Park EunBin and Kang TaeOh. The drama starts off charming and showcases great acting from the cast, but definitely suffers in the latter half from some nonsensical decisions from the writer.  To celebrate their recent 15th anniversary, we'll be recording a Girls' Generation-themed episode next. So check out the first episodes of "If You Wish Upon Me" (당신이 소원을 말하면) starring SooYoung, "Jinxed At First" (징크스의 연인) starring SeoHyun and "Good Job" (굿잡) with YuRi. Unfortunately we can't figure out where to find YoonA's "Big Mouth" (빅마우스). Also an episode of "Young Actors' Retreat" (청춘MT) for the heck of it.   Digressions:   3:32 - Listener E-mails! 20:29 - "Chorus" was one of the first games Judy streamed on her Twitch channel (twitch.tv/ladyjutea) and had a great time in spite of it taking itself way too seriously. 24:48 - Linda watched the film version of "Dear Evan Hansen" on the plane to Korea and loved it.  26:15 - Judy watched "Assassination" (암살), a period piece set during the Japanese occupation of Korea. It stars Jun JiHyun, Jo JinWoong, Lee JungJae, and apparently every single respected Korean actor. 28:01 - Linda watched the 2018 film, "Swing Kids", starring Do KyungSoo. 29:27 - "She-Hulk: Attorney at Law" is the latest Marvel series on Disney+. Judy, as with most things, wishes it was edited tighter. 30:45 - Linda watched all of "Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha" (갯마을 차차차) and it was cute. That's all there is to say about that. 32:45 - Judy watched "Thor: Love and Thunder" and Christian Bale was the best thing in it. Gasp! 34:39 - Linda's nostalgic love for the original movie was not enough to save the new series, "A League of Their Own". 37:40 - Despite the many bugs and obtuse puzzles, "Sable" is a beautiful indie game about finding your place in the world. 40:01 - "Terminal List" is a graphically violent series out a super soldier going on a revenge mission and why the heck did Linda watch all of it? 44:21 - "Boyfriend Dungeon" was a fun indie combination of a dungeon crawl and dating sim. Of course, Judy dated a kpop singer who can turn into a lightsaber! 47:51 - Linda fell asleep constantly during "Lightyear", which is pretty damning. 49:10 - Judy is currently streaming "Trek to Yomi", in which you play a samurai on a quest to save his village and his love. Check it out on her Twitch channel on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays! 52:58 - Linda celebrated Girls' Generation's 15th anniversary by watching the JTBC show, "소시탐탐" (SoShiTamTam). WUTHERING HEIGHTS IS FULL OF GARBAGE PEOPLE. Judy and Linda ponder JTBC's "My Liberation Notes" (나의 해방일지), starring Kim JiWon, Lee El, Lee MinKi and Son SeokKoo.  We really enjoyed watching this quiet contemplative drama, for its realistic portrayal of depression and ennui. Even though the final episode may have been more vague than we would have liked, we definitely recommend checking this out. Kim SeJeong, Seol InAh and Kim MinGyu are fantastic and we will continue to follow their work, but the latter half of this was decidedly disappointing. 25:07 - "Our Blues" (우리들의 블루스) is a TVN series in omnibus format, about a small community in Jeju Island. It was great while it lasted.  Our next episode will be about the popular series, "Business Proposal" (사내 맞선) starring Kim SeJeong, Ahn HyoSeop, Kim MinKyu and Seol InAh. If you have suggestions for the Spring First Impressions episode, you know where you contact us!   Digressions:   1:26 - Listener E-mails! 16:22 - Both Judy *and* Linda watched the second season of "Bridgerton". It was definitely better than the first season, but it does become slightly tedious near the end. But the dresses!!! 22:07 - Judy watched "Turning Red", and it was fine. Perhaps Pixar has set our expectations too high, but somehow the ending felt trite to us. Is it too much for an animated movie to fix our real-life issues?  25:19 - Linda is almost done with "Business Proposal" (사내 맞선), and we'll be doing a special episode on it in two weeks. 26:38 - Judy is enjoying the newest looter shooter from 2K, "Tiny Tina's Wonderlands". It's lighthearted goofy fun! Obviously, Judy's main is a Stabbomancer.  28:42 - "Moon Knight" is the newest Marvel series on Disney+. We have officially given up on it. 23:32 - Linda has finished watching all of "True Beauty" (여신강림), and it was dumb fun. 25:23 - Judy is playing "Chicken Police - Paint it RED!", a Polish indie video game with surprising depth and production values. If you enjoy film noirs, it might be worth checking out! 28:19 - Linda watched Pixar's latest film, "Turning Red", which is great, but it's missing a little something that she can't quite put her finger on. 30:50 - ***SPOILER WARNING*** Linda watched "Spider-Man: No Way Home", which is fun but not as great as the first two movies starring Tom Holland. 33:03 - On Apple TV+, there's a Broadway production of "Come From Away". Linda LOVED it. 34:15 - "The Adam Project" is a typical fun Ryan Reynolds action movie. 34:32 - Linda usually detests anything to do with "Romeo and Juliet" but she found Steven Spielberg's remake of "West Side Story" watchable for the dancing and singing. 36:17 - Linda tried "How I Met Your Father", and does not recommend it.   Some Korean terms:   한국말: [han-gook-mal] Korean. 인절미: [een-jeol-mee] sweet rice cake dusted with roasted soybean powder. 선배: [seon-beh] person in an organization with more experience; opposite of "후배" [hoo-beh]. 느끼함: [neu-ggee-ham] cheesy; corny; greasy. 엿: [yeot] Korean traditional sticky candy made with grains. 퐁퐁: [pong-pong] pompom. 딱밤: [ddak-bam] finger flick usually on the forehead; a punishment used in games. 오징어: [oh-jing-eo] squid.   Audio Credits: Laszlo Vincze - "Chicken Police - Paint it RED!" - "For a Handful of Feathers" Ludwig Goransson - "Turning Red" - "Turning Red" Michael Giacchino - "Spider-Man: No Way Home" - "Arachnoverture" Irene Sankoff  and David Hein - "Come From Away" - "Me and The Sky" Leonard Bernstein - "West Side Story" - "Cool"   Please send any questions, comments or suggestions on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram (@kdramamyeyesout) or e-mail us (kdramamyeyesout(at)gmail.com).   You can become our patron at patreon.com/kdramamyeyesout for as little as $1 per month!   Download this and other episodes and while you're there, write us a review:   Apple Podcasts   Google Play Music   Stitcher   Spotify   Libsyn RSS   The KDMEO theme music is 'Cute', by Bensound (www.bensound.com), and is licensed under Creative Commons Attribution Non-Commercial No-Derivatives 4.0 International.

AH, THE PASSION OF YOUTH! Judy and Linda feel hopeful after trying out some new February K-dramas.   Digressions:   0:57 - Listener E-mails! 13:49 - Judy was expecting more Henry Cavill sword fighting from the second season of "The Witcher". 17:09 - Linda watched the second season of "Steel Magnolias" which is a bit cloying but easy to digest. 19"02 - Judy loves Ali Wong and her latest comedy special, "Don Wong" is out on Netflix!   21:23 - "Forecasting Love and Weather" (기상청 사람들: 사내연애 잔혹사 편) is a JTBC drama set at the Korean Meteorological Administration, of all places. It stars Park MinYoung and Song Kang. It's gotta be funded by KMA, seeing as how they love showing montages of why accurate weather prediction is so important? And graphs. So many graphs. 38:25 - "Twenty-Five, Twenty-One" (스물다섯 스물하나) is a TVN drama with strong "Reply 1988" vibes. It stars Kim TaeRi and Nam JooHyuk as bright-eyed youths against the background of the 1990s IMF crisis. They are an absolute delight to watch. 50:30 - "Thirty, Nine" (서른, 아홉) stars Son YeJin, Jeon MiDo and Kim JiHyun as a strong-knit group of friends. This TVN slice-of-life drama also has 3 male leads, but who really cares about them? The leading ladies have great chemistry and we're looking forward to what's going to happen next.   Some Korean terms:   불륜남: [bool-lyoon-nam] adulterer (male).   Audio credits:   Joseph Trapanese - "The Witcher: Season 2 OST" - "Kaer Morhen" Nickel Creek - "Destination"   Please send any questions, comments or suggestions on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram (@kdramamyeyesout) or e-mail us (kdramamyeyesout(at)gmail.com).

The first two seasons are now available on Disney+. Check it out if you like Taika Waititi and Jemaine Clement's work! 40:25 - Linda and Judy found "Hawkeye" to have a great balance between comedy and drama. Who knew we would look forward to a show starring arguably the worst Avenger? 42:04 - Wow, "Eternals" is bland bland bland. ***MAJOR SPOILERS BUT DO YOU CARE*** at 42:04-44:19. 47:24 - Linda finally finished "Squid Game" (오징어 게임)! We do not like this trend of trying to force shows into multiple seasons. 49:44 - If you haven't started yet, Judy insists that you watch "The Book of Boba Fett". You might think "Where the heck is this going?", but Judy INSISTS. You won't regret it. 50:39 - Linda gave up on the Marvel animated series, "What If?" after 10 minutes. Yeah, don't bother. 51:49 - Judy is a newbie at "Sea of Thieves". Even though there are scary PVP randos around, it's the only chance to kind of be at a beach and eat a coconut, dammit! Also, watch "Master and Commander", you cowards! 58:41 - Linda is sad about the slapdash final season of "Kim's Convenience". Get your stuff together, CBC! 59:40 - Judy needed another Bioware RPG with romance, so obviously she played "Dragon Age: Inquisition"! KDMEO, WE DON'T KNOW DRUGS. Judy and Linda stall for fall by watching four ridiculously popular Kdramas from 2004-2013! How is every single one of these about a poor dumdum uncovering a rich douchebag's heart of gold? We will be hibernating for December, in hopes that we'll get some dramas worth checking out in 2022. Happy holidays and happy New Year!   Digressions:   1:51 - New Patreon donor and Listener E-mails! 14:14 - On a whim, Judy tried out "Inspector Koo" (구경이), starring Lee YoungAe. It's pretty watchable and has a great supporting cast. 16:51 - "The Handmaiden" (아가씨) is a hauntingly memorable film. It was directed by Park ChanWook, who also directed the Vengeance series of films. 18:27 - A notorious dictator is dead! Judy celebrated by watching "A Taxi Driver" (택시운전사), a 2017 film about the 1980 Gwangju Uprising. 21:03 - "Arcane" is a Netflix animated series based in the "League of Legends" universe and is an amazing show, even if you have never played the video game. 22:36 - Judy has been walking down the anime nostalgia lane with the 2019 series, "Fruits Basket" (フルーツバスケット). Ignore the stereotypical shoujo fantasy premise and focus on the message about friends, family and helping each other heal from trauma.   25:21 - "The Heirs" (왕관을 쓰려는 자, 그 무게를 견뎌라 – 상속자들) is an SBS drama from 2013, starring Lee MinHo, Park ShinHye, Kim JiWon and Kim WooBin. Ah yes, rich people problems and English-speaking "actors", Judy's favourite things in a drama. 35:50 - "Princess Hours" (궁) is a 2006 MBC drama set in an alternate universe in which Korea has a constitutional monarchy. It stars Yoon EunHye, Ju JiHoon and Song JiHyo. Yoon EunHye is playing pretty much the same character as in "Coffee Prince", a spunky girl who has to save her family from poverty. 43:17 - "Master's Sun" (주군의 태양) is a 2013 SBS drama, starring So JiSub and Gong HyoJin. Linda didn't manage to finish the episode, so Judy struggles to recap the latter half, which is absolutely bonkers. 54:30 - "Full House" (풀하우스) is a 2004 KBS drama, starring Rain and Song HyeKyo. Words cannot adequately express just how awful this drama was. How was this so popular?   Some Korean terms:   흙수저: [heuk-soo-jeo] literally "dirt spoon" as compared to "silver spoon"; from an impoverished background. 알바: short for 아르바이트 [ah-reu-bah-ee-teu]; taken from German word, "arbeit", meaning "work"; minimum wage job. 미숫가루: [mi-soot-ga-roo] mixed grain powder that is usually blended with water, ice and sugar to make a summer drink. 범생: [beom-seng] short for "모범생" [mo-beom-seng], meaning "model student". 가채: [ga-che] intricate traditional wig worn by women. 한복: [han-bok] traditional Korean clothing. 사극: [sa-geuk] historical drama. 눈치: [noon-chi] a combination of "tact" and "situational awareness"; to be lacking in "눈치" is an insult. 모자라다: [mo-ja-ra-da] "to be not enough"; "to be slow" if used to describe a person. 제수씨: [jeh-soo-ssi] respectful way of addressing the significant other of a younger brother/friend.    Audio credits:   TRPP - "Inspector Koo" (구경이) OST - "Yeah (Round and Round)" Jo YeongWook - "The Handmaiden" (아가씨) OST - "The Tree from Mount Fuji" Cho HyeWon - "A Taxi Driver" (택시운전사) OST - "The Customer I Left Behind" (두고 온 손님) Imagine Dragons - "Arcane" - "Enemy" Beverly - "Fruits Basket" (フルーツバスケット) - "Again"   Please send any questions, comments or suggestions on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram (@kdramamyeyesout) or e-mail us (kdramamyeyesout(at)gmail.com).

Judy and Linda stall for fall by watching four classic Kdramas from 2000-2010!  Next week, we continue to stall for fall by trying out "Full House" (풀하우스), "Princess Hours" (궁), "Master's Sun" (주군의 태양) and "The Heirs" (왕관을 쓰려는 자, 그 무게를 견뎌라 – 상속자들).   Digressions:   1:22 - New Patreon donor! 1:40 - Judy, like a fool, thought that she could just enjoy the candy-coloured Pixar movie, "Luca" without crying. Check it out!   6:01 - "Autumn in My Heart" (가을동화) is a ridiculously popular KBS melodrama from 2000, starring Song SeungHun, Song HyeKyo and Won Bin. Who knew we would scream so much while watching it? 17:53 - "Winter Sonata" (겨울연가) is the next offering from the creators of "Autumn in My Heart". Bae YongJun and Choi JiWoo are decidedly not young enough to play teenagers, but here we are. If you want to visit Nami island, the tourist attraction that Linda talks about, it's only about 50km away from Seoul! 28:02 - "Coffee Prince" (커피프린스 1호점) is a MBC reverse harem drama, starring Gong Yoo, Yoon EunHye and Lee SunKyun. Gong Yoo's character is your typical rich pretty boy who mooches off his family, while Yoon EunHye's character is more spunky and fun! 35:07 - "My Girlfriend is a Gumiho" (내 여자친구는 구미호) is a 2010 SBS fantasy drama. Lee SeungGi's character is a poor imitation of Gong Yoo's character from "Coffee Prince". Shin MinAh proves that she has always been frigging gorgeous.    Some Korean terms:   시장: [shi-jang] marketplace. 국밥: [guk-bap] meat and vegetable stew with rice. 과학고: [gwa-hak-go] science high school.    Audio credits:   Dan Romer - "Luca" - "Meet Luca"   Please send any questions, comments or suggestions on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram (@kdramamyeyesout) or e-mail us (kdramamyeyesout(at)gmail.com). The "Judy has a crush on Jo JinWoong) theme is 'Love', by Bensound (www.bensound.com), and is licensed under Creative Commons Attribution Non-Commercial No-Derivatives 4.0 International.

Coming soon!   Digressions:   0:47 - New Patreon donors and Listener E-mails! 11:39 - Judy insists that you watch "Seinfeld", now on Netflix, but only from season 2 onwards. 14:29 - Let season 2 of "The Baby-Sitters Club" give you a warm, comforting hug. 15:49 - "Far Cry 6" is out! Judy is new to the franchise and is eager to acquire the so-called Battle Chicken, but will it be enough to stave off the post-Mass Effect depression? 19:04 - Linda really enjoyed "Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings", reminiscent of beautiful martial arts movies of old.   23:37 - "Yumi's Cells" (유미의 세포들) is a TVN drama, starring Kim GoEun and An BoHyun. It's based on a 2015 webtoon, which may have been amusing, but the animated bits slow down the pace way too much. Kim GoEun's bangs and An BoHyun's chin scruff are distractingly awful. 30:29 - "Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha" (갯마을 차차차) is a TVN romantic comedy, starring Shin MinA and Kim SeonHo. Judy remembers the 2004 movie with much fondness. This is an easy watch with two adorable lead actors, so try it out!  39:24 - "Police University" (경찰수업) is an eyeroll-inducing piece from KBS. It stars JinYoung (B1A4), Krystal (f(x)) and Cha TaeHyun, and they can't do anything to help the godawful material.    Some Korean terms:   답답하다 [dap-dap-ha-da] to be frustrated. 뽑기 [ppop-gi] candy made with sugar and baking soda; currently super popular due to "Squid Game".   Audio credits:   Jonathan Wolff - "Seinfeld Theme" Potty Mouth - "I Wanna" DJ Shadow - "Nobody Speak"  Joel P West - "Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings" - "Xu Shang-Chi" "Jurassic Park" - "It's a UNIX system! Judy and Linda are grateful for episodes 1-2 of “Hospital Playlist” (슬기로운 의사생활), a TVN medical ensemble drama starring Jeon MiDo, Jo JungSuk, Yoo YeonSeok, Jung KyungHo and Kim DaeMyung.   Some of the nicknames we used for characters in season 1: Buddha - Ahn JungWon, pediatric surgeon played by Yoo YeonSeok Ice Man - Kim JoonWan, cardiothoracic surgeon played by Jung KyungHo Long Winter - Jang GyeoWool, General Surgery resident played by Shin HyunBin Captain Doctor - Ahn ChiHong, Neurosurgery resident played by Kim JunHan   Digressions: 1:03 - Listener E-mails! Nadira is a guest host in the first 2 episodes! 19:10 - ***SOME SPOILERS*** Linda and Judy are loving Tom Hiddleston and Owen Wilson in "Loki" on Disney+ 24:30 - Judy watched "Raya and the Last Dragon" on Disney+ and it was great! It did not get the hype that it deserves and you should definitely check it out! 26:39 - Linda rewatched all of "Downton Abbey" and found it wanting as the seasons went on. 29:00 - Judy binge watched "Fleabag", starring Phoebe Waller-Bridge. It's a black comedy about broken people and you can't look away.   Some Korean terms: 애교: [ae-gyo] overwhelming cuteness expressed through childishness. 비참하다: [bi-cham-ha-da] to be wretched. 아줌마: [ah-jum-ma] way to address an older woman. 돼지국밥: [dweh-ji-guk-bap] literally "pig soup rice"; thick pork broth served over rice. 떡볶이: [ddeok-bok-kki] spicy rice cakes.   Audio credits: Ak Dan Gwang Chil (악단광칠 aka ADG7) - "NOZANOZA" (노자노자) Natalie Holt - "Loki" - "TVA" James Newton Howard - "Raya and the Last Dragon" - "Prologue" John Lunn - "Downton Abbey" - "The Suite" Isobel Waller-Bridge - "Fleabag" - "Kyrie" Kim DaeMyung - "In front of the post office in autumn" (가을 우체국 앞에서)   Please send any questions, comments or suggestions on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram (@kdramamyeyesout) or e-mail us (kdramamyeyesout(at)gmail.com). DO YOU KNOW HOW HARD IT IS TO BUILD A SNOWMAN AFTER A MURDER? Judy and Linda try out newer dramas for Spring 2021. We're taking a short break! Think of us in cocoons dreaming of the second season of "Hospital Playlist" (슬기로운 의사생활). We'll be back here and there, if there's anything fun that comes out.   Digressions:   0:47 - Listener E-mails! 11:13 - Judy offers up a correction for episode 169: "As quickly as a lie" 12:54 - Vox has great informative videos on Youtube, but their Coronavirus playlist is particularly important. Please check it out for reliable information from experts. 14:36 - Linda is hooked on Wendy's (Red Velvet) first mini-album, but especially the song, "When This Rain Stops" 16:34 - Judy is fascinated with the documentary series about a single mom in Korea on SayuriTV 20:33 - Linda watched the second season of "Stranger" and was okay with it. 22:18 - Judy loves "Battlestar Galactica" (2004) so much. Even though it's sci fi, it's grounded in real human concerns and asks what it means to be human and whether we are worth redeeming.  25:33 - We had a watch party with our Patreon donors for the first episode of "Sisyphus" (시지프스) and it was only bearable because of the snarky company.   32:46 - "Mouse" (마우스) is a thriller from TVN, starring Lee SeungGi and Ahn JaeWook. The crimes were graphic and difficult to watch, but we also couln't take the drama seriously because of some pointedly stupid choices. 48:23 - "Vincenzo" (빈센조) is a TVN action comedy thriller (?) that is tonally all over the place. Song JoongKi plays a Korean-Italian mafia consigliere. We were hoping for a straight up revenge story, but there's some corporate shenanigans mixed with "Kung Fu Hustle"-esque cast of kooky characters. Linda's going to watch more of it though! 54:19 - "Navillera" (나빌레라) is yet another TVN slice of life drama. It stars Park InHwan as the most adorable elderly man who longs to learn ballet dancing, and Song Kang as an aspiring ballerino who's going to teach him. It's so predictable, but in a good, heartwarming way.   Some Korean terms:   거짓말처럼:[geo-jit-mal-cheo-reom] literally "like a lie"; unbelievably. 어처구니없어: [eo-cheo-goo-ni-up-suh] absurd.   Audio credits:   Wendy (Red Velvet) - "When This Rain Stops" Bear McCreary - "Battlestar Galactica" - "Season 1 Title Intro" T. Rex - "I Love to Boogie" Please send any questions, comments or suggestions on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram (@kdramamyeyesout) or e-mail us (kdramamyeyesout(at)gmail.com).

BEHOLD LINDA'S FURY. Judy and Linda try out older dramas suggested by our Patreon donors. Thank you for prompting us to try out shows that were on the back burner. Our Spring First Impressions episode will feature "Sisyphus: The Myth" (시지프스), "Vincenzo" (빈센조), "Mouse" (마우스), "Navillera" (나빌레라) and "River Where the Moon Rises" (달이 뜨는 강). Digressions:   2:43 - New Patreon donors and Listener E-mails! 6:39 - STOP AAPI HATE. 16:21 - Judy is uplifted by the "Feel the Rhythm of Korea" videos from Korea Tourism Organization. Check them out here! 20:46 - *NO spoilers* We're having fun watching "Falcon and the Winter Soldier"! 22:41 - Judy enjoyed the female friendships in "Hustlers". Jennifer Lopez, WOWZA. 24:46 - Linda rewatched "Little Women" and liked it better than the first time. 26:15 - Judy likes Andy Samberg and she likes "Palm Springs" 28:51 - Linda is loving the lightness of "The Mighty Ducks: Game Changers" series on Disney+   31:57 - "My Mister" (나의 아저씨) is a depressingly realistic drama from TVN (2018), starring IU and Lee SunKyun. There's excellent acting all round and Lee SunKyun's voice is delectable, but we were so crushed by the experience that we don't know if we can continue. 41:44 - "Stranger" (비밀의 숲) is a 2017 TVN drama about - surprise, surprise - corruption in the justice system. It stars Cho SeungWoo as a partially lobotomized (?!) prosecutor and Bae DooNa as a kickass detective! 47:59 - We were both surprised by how much we liked "Melo is My Nature" (멜로가 체질), a 2019 JTBC slice of life drama about a group of friends in their 30s. If you haven't seen it yet, you should check it out for the witty banter and touching moments. 56:39 - "You're Beautiful" (미남이시네요) is a 2009 SBS drama from Park ShinHye, Jang GeunSuk and Lee HongKi. It's part of the terrible trend in the 2000s where every romantic comedy tried to be "Boys Over Flowers".    Some Korean terms:   거짓말처럼 빠르게: [geo-jit-mal-cheo-reom-ppa-reu-geh] as quickly as a lie; expression used for something that's fast. 끔찍해:  [ggeum-jjik-heh] horrible. 판소리: [pan-so-ri] traditional Korean singing. 해녀: [heh-nyeo] traditional Korean women divers.   Audio credits:   LEENALCHI (이날치) - Tiger is Coming (범 내려온다)   Henry Jackman - "Falcon and the Winter Soldier" - "Louisiana Hero"   Cardi B - "Money"   Alexandre Desplat - "Little Women" Soundtrack - "Little Women"   Patrick Cowley - "Megatron Man"   Philip Glass - "Koyaanisqatsi" Please send any questions, comments or suggestions on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram (@kdramamyeyesout) or e-mail us (kdramamyeyesout(at)gmail.com).
