Ahead of this year's final of Melodifestivalen, Sweden's national final, Andy & Ryan give their take on this year's finalists. They're paying extra special attention as this year they're actually going to be in the audience in Stockholm cheering and whooping from the tenth row. Until Heat 4 it was perhaps fair to say that this year's Melfest might not be as strong as the last 2 years, but the long-awaited return of Loreen seems to have turned everything around. Either that or it's just the fact that we can finally listen to them all on Spotify and play them continuously. But we're getting ahead of ourselves, let's explain the format of the episode… We're going to play and score 10 songs in total. The eight finalists and two semi-finalists. As we write the semi-final has yet to happen, but when this episode goes out, you will know which 4 acts progressed to the final. We only chose two - one each - as we hadn't realised four acts would make it through from the semi-final, but, no matter, we're confident that we chose the best ones anyway. If we'd known though we would have also reviewed Kiana and Nordman. We wonder if we picked the right four? Onto the songs. We start with Tone Sekelius who walked the Heat 1 voting and reminded us why we fell in love with her when she sang My Way last year. Then there's perennial performer, Swedish-Sámi singer and jojkare, Jon Henrik Fjällgren with Arc North feat. Adam Woods with Where You Are which won Heat 1. Country duo Tennessee Tears won Andys' heart in Heat 2 and are his pick of the semi-finalists, while Theoz's pop sunshine track Mer av dig is Ryan's favourite to progress from the semis. Football chant On My Way from Panetoz is next, followed by Ukrainian Maria Sur who blew everyone away with her confident performance a few weeks ago. Then we have Paul Rey with Royals, the lyrics of which Andy has probably looked into a little too deeply, and Norwegian duo Marcus & Martinus, winner of Heat 3, whom the Swedes seem to have really taken to despite their ill-fitting trousers. Linkin Park-meets-Evanesence band Smash Into Pieces rocked their way into the final, but were ultimately no match for the stupendous Loreen whose vocals and stage presence made her performance everyone's highlight of Melfest 2023. Could she even be a contender for the Eurovision crown?! Vi går igenom deltävling nummer fyra där vi helst ville skicka vidare mellanakten till finalen. Det handlade bara om Pernilla, Per, Eric och The Mamas nämligen. Vi snackar om duellerna i Andra chansen - vilka tar sig hela vägen till final och har de ens något att sätta emot de som redan är där? Paul Rey är sjuk och riskerar att missa tävlingen - vi pratar om hur krisplanen ser ut. Med: Jenny Ågren, Tobbe Ek och Markus Larsson.

Nu börjar melodifestivallåtarna märkas bland bubblarna. Till exempel har Jessica Andersson en chans till revansch med Horizon och från festivalen märks även Paul Rey med The Missing Piece. Smith & Thell överraskar med att både komma tillbaka med Year Of The Young och bli nykomlingar med Radioactive Rain och fyller därmed nionde- och tiondeplatserna. THE PLAY LIST and SHOW PAGE   Due to Corona Pandemic that hit the Earth in 2020 and still forces countries to a total lockdown Radio International starts the second series of the EUROVISION LOCKDOWN which are two extra live shows of Eurovision madness on Saturdays and Sundays for the time of the Corona Lockdown in the United Kingdom starting on Saturday 09 January 2021.The Team of Radio International - The Ultimate Eurovision Experience thought of easing the tough times with two additional Eurovision radio shows on Saturdays and Sundays. The idea is to entertain the listeners and fans with lots of Eurovision music of the 66 year history of the Eurovision Song Contest plus new music the Eurovision artists have released after their performance in the contest and most of all also the music requests of the listeners and fans. In the last series from March till June 2020 the show became popular and fans joined JP and the Radio International Team to present themed hours. We would like to continue on this in the second series.  Fans can actively take part in the show to join JP and his team in the studio via a SKYPE phone call live on air to talk about their thoughts and request their favourite song which does not need to be a Eurovision song.The shows are live via Castlepoint FM and Run FM in the United Kingdom but available also via the Radio International Facebook Group "Eurovision Radio International" where you can find the chatroom. Sveriges Radio Finskas sommargäster 2020: När Pauli Jokela blev artisten Paul Rey förlorade han sina rötter i Sverige, Finland och Chile. Men hur mycket kostar den amerikanska drömmen? "I ett försök till att gömma min språkliga osäkerhet till mina föräldrars ursprung förkortar jag bort namnens nationella klang. Pauli blir till Paul och Reyes blir till Rey. Genast känner jag mig mer bekväm", berättar Paul Rey om de första stegen till hans internationella karriär. Men någonstans på vägen går han förlorad i den amerikanska imagen. I Sverige får han ett överraskande mottagande: "Du är ju en så att säga amerikansk artist! Där blir ironin fulländad. Hur hamnar jag här?" I Finland blir han istället tagen som deras egen artist: "Här var det Pauli Jokela som var i fullt fokus. Jag var nu varken en amerikansk eller svensk artist. Pauli Jokela mer känd som Paul Rey är artist, låtskrivare och musikproducent. Han har sina rötter i hiphopen, men 2015 debuterade han som popartist. Pauls första EP ”Good As Hell” tog honom till USA och samarbeten med Snoop Dog och Quincy Jones. Sen dess har han släppt EP:n Note To Self och flertalet singlar som gått varma på både svensk och internationell radio. Den 4 oktober 2019 släppte han singeln HURT. Melodifestivalvinnarna The Mamas får starkt stöd av folket och avancerar starkt. Lyssna på resultatet av veckans Svensktoppen här! Nu är det kvinnorna som dominerar på listan. The Mamas klättrar men Dotter och Miss Li håller undan och behåller förstaplatsen med Lev Nu Dö Sen. Dotter ligger inte många poäng efter på andraplatsen med Bulletproof. Dessutom avancerar The Mamas till tredjeplatsen med Move. Tidigare ettan Some Say med Nea kommer tillbaka till listan efter två veckors bortavaro, men återkommer på en blygsam niondeplats. Från att tidigare varit en lokal, underground rappare i hemstaden Lund så har han omvandlats till ett välkänt artistnamn som bl.a. släppt megahiten California Dreaming! Jag fick en pratstund med honom där vi betade av allt ifrån hur han tvingades spela instrument av sin mamma när han var barn, om att våga ta steget och utnyttja sin potential till fullo, kärleken till sin hustru, hur alkohol och droger inom musikbranschen lätt  kan bli en fälla. Samt det intressantaste uttrycket hittils i podden: "Folk e fan dumma i huvet"!  Vill dock be om ursäkt för att inspelningen tyvärr blev lite bullrig/ekande! Rhys utsågs till "framtidens artist" här i P3 under våren och kommer till Zia med Nessvold i P3 för att snacka om genomslaget och spela en akustisk version av sin singel "Last Dance".
