This week on TaPod we are lucky to spend with some time the ATC Innovation Lab Judges award winner – Stan Wasowicz from Scotty AI and Richard Barnett from award sponsor Hays.Stan is adamant we are entering the age of automation and Scotty has the capacity to complete the recruitment process from start to finish. And that's not all he has in store for us. His presentation at ATC was controversial and today he gets to drill down on the detail… fascinating. Thanks to SmartRecruiters for your continued support.
Hello, from Scotland!.. Not really. But we do taste and smell some Scottish treats in this episode. We also discuss Grace, And Accountability, and how the two shake hands, or at least... How they should... Enjoy!
It took two years for Nicki Minaj to take over the world. Following her 2009 mixtape Beam Me Up Scotty, she caught the attention of Lil Wayne who signed her. Minaj quickly became ubiquitous, taking over the charts and winning over rap heavyweights and pop divas with her next level guest verses. It was Nicki's debut album Pink Friday and single “Super Bass” that made her a force to be reckoned with across the board. Her pop pivot was a huge risk, especially as she pulled double duty singing and rapping on the hit. But it paid off: the song was her first Top 10 single and became the highest charting song by a female rapper since Missy Elliott's “Work It.” Joining us to discuss the song's impact and the ups and downs of Minaj's legacy is Rolling Stone staff writer Mankaprr Conteh.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
Our fifth season of "Science Straight Up" kicks off with Dr. Michael Wasielewski of Northwestern University talking about the basics of quantum theory and how it will change our lives. We can't beam people aboard the starship just yet, but teleportation of information using quantum techniques is happening right now. Many of us have heard about quantum computers and some of the amazing things that they will do, literally a “quantum leap” in performance. However, this is not the whole story. The quantum world and innovative technologies being developed from it will significantly enhance secure communications and be capable of sensing single atoms and molecules, even when they are within living cells. How does this work? Dr Wasielewski has some answers. Our session was moderated by veteran broadcast journalists Judy Muller and George Lewis.
„Beam me up, Scotty!” „Beam me up, Scotty!” Im Original sagt Captain Kirk: „Two to beam up, Scotty“.

May 14, 2021 is a day that will forever go down in history. Yes the Migos dropped their first single off of their upcoming album, "Culture 3". & yes J. Cole dropped his sixth album, "The Off-Season"... But we all know what release took the cake. That re-release of Beam Me Up Scotty, that's what! Apple finally dropped some of Nicki's old heat and she blessed us with two new songs. GhiaLogic thinks it is safe to say two things: Fractions will be the song of the summer. It for sure will be the ladies' anthem! Drake has reached GOAT status. Likeeeee this man is the one and NOT the two. All three releases were great and had significant replay value. On Seeing Green with Wayne, Nicki, and Drizzy, it was like a blast into the past! Very nostalgic song right there. Crazy how we grew up listening to all of these acts! We survived the 27 club and episode 28 is here! Connor and Steven return with, arguably, their most fluid episode yet and one that they agree is probably their best one from a production standpoint. That being said, they begin the episode on an uncomfortable note regarding the film Cars and Mater. The hosts talk about washing cars, chipping teeth, and how problematic men writing female characters can be. Also with the new release of Nicki Minaj's Beam Me Up Scotty debuting on streaming services, the two talk about the normalcy of hip-hop mixtapes releasing on streaming platforms. If you want to listen to young Nicki Minaj, arguably at her best, check it out!
