Rough day for the BD Baseball crew. The A's got shelled, the Rockies lost a close one at Wrigley, and the Tigers bats went cold in Houston — so naturally, we had plenty to work through. In this episode of BD Baseball, we run through the full June 17 MLB slate with a little extra attention on the homer teams. The A's pitching staff got beat up by the Pirates, Ryan O'Hearn drove in six, and Zack Gelof at least kept his hitting streak alive. The Rockies gave up a seven-run inning to the Cubs, but Sterlin Thompson hit the first two homers of his big league career, Hunter Goodman kept swinging it, and Colorado's lineup still looks a lot more interesting than the record says. On the Tigers side, it was a frustrating one. Detroit only managed three hits against Houston, Peter Lambert shoved, Kevin McGonigle got one off Josh Hader late, and Gleyber Torres heading back to the IL with an oblique issue is a real kick in the teeth. We also get into Andrew Painter getting lit up again and finally sent down, the Shohei Ohtani pitching/DH rule conversation, umpire challenge drama, the Yankees doing Yankee things without Judge, Kyle Bradish punching out 12, the Mariners going to a six-man rotation, and why the A's need pitching help if they're going to keep hanging around the wildcard race. Tuesday, May 5, 2026 brings two brand-new second-round NBA playoff series to the floor, and Munaf Manji and Uncle Diamond Dave Essler are locked in with every angle you need before tip-off on this edition of Cash That Ticket, airing on the Straight Outta Vegas AM feed. The guys open by recapping Monday night's conference semifinal openers, starting with Jalen Brunson's dominant 35-point performance in New York, where the Knicks blew out the Philadelphia 76ers 137-98 with Brunson dropping 27 in the first half alone. Tyrese Maxey finished with just 13 points and had limited shot attempts in a game that was over well before the final buzzer. In the late game, Victor Wembanyama put together one of the most statistically remarkable individual performances in playoff history, blocking 12 shots to set a new NBA single-game postseason record, while adding 11 points and 15 rebounds for a triple-double, yet San Antonio still fell 104-102 to Minnesota as Julian Champagnie's buzzer three drifted wide. Anthony Edwards played 25 minutes off the bench in his return from injury, scoring 18 points including 11 in the fourth quarter to seal the Timberwolves win. From there, Munaf and Dave dive into tonight's action starting in the East, where the Cleveland Cavaliers travel to Detroit to face a Pistons team riding momentum from three straight comeback wins. The line has moved significantly from four down to as low as two and a half, with heavy Cavaliers money driving it, and Dave is landing on the Pistons money line while Munaf leans the Pistons on the spread if you can still find the two and a half. Both hosts flag the tired-legs factor heavily, as each club played a Game 7 with just one day of rest. In the West, the Oklahoma City Thunder are a massive 15.5-point home favorite over a Lakers squad still without Luka Doncic. Munaf points to the regular-season data showing Oklahoma City outscored Los Angeles in all four meetings, with the Lakers reaching just 96 or fewer points in three of those games. Dave takes the Lakers team total under and the game total under, while Munaf plants his flag on the Thunder team total over and says he wouldn't hesitate to lay the spread. LeBron James averaged 38.7 minutes per game in the Houston series without Luka available, and both hosts see that fatigue as a meaningful factor heading into Game 1. The guys also break down a deep MLB Tuesday card covering the Reds-Cubs matchup, Cade Cavalli's recent hot streak, the Dodgers-Astros series with Shohei Ohtani on the mound, Peter Lambert's track record against Los Angeles, line movement on Framber Valdez in Boston, and a full run through the rest of the slate. Griffin Warner talks betting for Thursday. Griffin Warner returns for Episode 33 of What I Bet with a full Thursday betting card breakdown across Major League Baseball and the Stanley Cup Playoffs. The show opens with a quick look back at a winning Chicago Cubs underdog pick before moving into a busy MLB slate led by Detroit at Atlanta, where Framber Valdez as a plus money underdog against Bryce Elder immediately catches Griffin's attention. The Braves have been dangerous offensively, with Ronald Acuña Jr. heating up and the bullpen holding together better than expected after Raisel Iglesias went on the injured list, but Detroit's matchup still creates value because Griffin likes backing Framber Valdez in underdog roles. Kansas City against the Athletics in Sacramento brings interest in both the Royals and under nine and a half, with Griffin pushing back on the idea that the park should already be priced like peak summer conditions. Toronto at Minnesota closes the baseball portion, with Kevin Gausman against Bailey Ober and the under drawing some attention despite concerns about Minnesota's bullpen. The NHL playoff section begins with Dallas at Minnesota, where Griffin has a live viewing perspective after attending multiple games in the Stars and Wild series. He believes Minnesota has looked like the better team overall and is more drawn to the total than the Dallas side. Edmonton at Anaheim closes the betting breakdown, with the Oilers trying to stay alive and the Ducks holding a 3 to 2 series lead. Griffin expects strong Edmonton fan support in Anaheim, questions whether Connor McDavid is fully healthy, and says Anaheim plus money is tempting after a competitive series. Ein geschwungener Weg führt durch niedrige Beete zum unter einer Holzveranda liegenden Eingang. Die Geschichte der Villa erschließt sich, wenn man die zahlreichen Verzierungen und Details entdeckt, die vor allem mit einem Motiv spielen: der Rose. Die Adresse des Hauses im Norden Triers verrät, was es mit der Rosenvilla auf sich hat, denn die heutige Peter-Lambert-Straße trägt seit 1990 den Namen ihres Bauherrn. Peter Lambert, geboren 1859, war zu Lebzeiten ein in der ganzen Welt bekannter Rosenzüchter und Gartenbauer. Schon sein Vater und dessen Brüder waren Blumenzüchter, doch Peter Lambert ist mit seiner 1891 gegründeten „Baum- und Rosenschule“ noch weitaus erfolgreicher. 1899 heiratet er die Luxemburgerin Leonie Lamesch, die aus einer Rosenzuchtfamile stammt, in der Peter Lambert lernte. Im selben Jahr noch erbauen die frisch vermählten Rosenfreunde ihr privates Wohnhaus im Norden von Trier. Die Rose muss eine besondere Anziehungskraft auf das Paar ausgeübt haben, denn selten findet man Berufs- und Privatwelt in einem Haus auf so malerische Art und Weise vereint wie hier. Das Haus hat mit seinem runden Treppenturm und den aufwändig verzierten Erkern ein wenig den Charakter eines kleinen Schlosses. An der heutigen Straßenseite schmiegt sich ein Giebel mit überdachtem Freisitz an den runden Treppenturm. Für schönes Wetter liegt direkt daneben eine ausladende Terrasse, von der man heute nicht mehr auf die ehemals in unmittelbarer Nähe liegenden Nutzflächen der Firma Peter Lambert sehen, sondern eher den Stand der Dinge im Moselstadion verfolgen kann. Während die Hausflächen selbst schlicht verputzt sind, liegt das Augenmerk des Architekten auf den zwei Erkern, die der Trierer Bildhauer Carl Kaurisch aus heimischem Rotsandstein ausgeführt hat. Die besonders interessante Seite des Hauses ist der Mosel zugewandt. Direkt neben dem Eingang befindet sich einer der beiden Erker auf einer voluminösen Sandsteinbrüstung im ersten Geschoss. Auf der Konsole mit einer Girlande aus Äpfeln, Eicheln und Nüssen liegen drei quadratische Bildfelder. Links wird das Motiv der Obst- und Nussgirlande in noch ausladender Form wieder aufgenommen, überhöht von einem Frauenkopf mit Weintraubenschmuck im Haar. Das rechte Feld ist sein Pendant, diesmal sind es jedoch prall gefüllte Rosenblüten sowohl in der Girlande als auch im Haar der Dame. Im mittleren Feld wird dargestellt, wie solch Frucht- und Blumenpracht erst zustande kommen kann. Eine Putte mit Landschaftsplan auf den Knien sitzt inmitten einer Felsenlandschaft mit einer Architekturruine im Hintergrund. Noch ungeordnet ist das Ambiente, welches mit Hilfe von Werkzeug, Zirkel, Maßdreieck und Flächenmesser erst gestaltet werden muss. Neben diesen Symbolen für den Gartenbau weist ein Bündel Rosen auf die Rosenzucht im Betrieb von Peter und Leonie Lambert hin. Der zweite Erker wird von drei mannshohen Fenstern im Erdgeschoss an der Westseite des Hauses gebildet. Fünf hohe schmale Pilaster umrahmen die Seiten, den oberen Abschluss bilden gestaltete Gesimse. Die oberen Streifen und die äußeren Sandsteinfelder zeigen Szenen aus der Natur. Ein Knabe flötet unter einem Baum; Vögel, Ginkoblätter und ein Fuchs beleben das Schauspiel. Mit einem Bienenstock, Wassertieren und einer Eule wandert das obere Band bis zum rechten Pfeiler, der zwei Kinder zeigt, die auf einem Baum klettern, dessen Ast gerade kracht. Informativ wird es wieder in der Mitte. Die beiden inneren Lisenen sind mit Wappenfeldern geschmückt, die Daten und Fakten zum Wohnhaus liefern. With a Thursday night win over the Padres, your, my, and our Colorado Rockies have won 11 of their last 12 games at home and continue pushing themselves into second place in the National League West. In 2008 Fernando Lugo came to power in Paraguay promising a 'new dawn' based on social justice, democracy and greater empowerment of the country's poor but just four years later, with his reform programme in tatters. In his inaugural lecture, Professor Peter Lambert examines the failure of Lugo's reform programme through analysis of both immediate causes and wider factors related to domestic power relations and political culture. This in turn raises questions about the very nature of Paraguay's ongoing transition to democracy.
