Continuing the "journey" of Chris is on Infinite Earths! Chris never really wanted to start a blog... and with this episode, he can (kinda) prove it!  Justice League #1 (1987) originally appeared on chrisisoninfiniteearths.com on New Year's Day, 2017... though, it was originally supposed to hit the internet on New Year's Day, 2015 at the Bwa-Ha-Blog! (which never became a thing). Ya see, it was something of a New Year's Day tradition for Chris to start (and abandon) a brand-new blog... so much for that Resolution to "write more"!  Two years (and a whole new blog) later, this discussion of Justice League #1 would finally be completed. Greetings, Dangerous Humans!  As we are currently in what might just be the final month of DC's Young Animal imprint, your Young and Animalistic hosts, Chris (@acecomics) and Reggie (@reggiereggie) thought it might be fun to share with you their initial thoughts on the launch!  In this extra-sized (or, over-sized) episode they look at all four "number one" issues.  Since the Young Animal launch was staggered from September-November, 2016... there are also a couple of "non-number one" reviews in there as well. Head back with us into the not-so-distant past... and relive some Young Animal memories.  Learn just how much we initially hated Mother Panic, and how over the Moon we were with Doom Patrol and Shade the Changing Girl... boy, how that changed!  Feel free to follow along at home... let's send the Young Animal imprint into the sunset with a smile. ***Warning: We might be a little bit looser with our language during these episodes -- These segments originally aired during the Weird Science DC Comics Podcast during the Following Episodes: Episode 89 (09.18.2016) - Doom Patrol #1 Episode 92 (10.09.2016) - Shade the Changing Girl #1 Episode 93 (10.16.2016) - Doom Patrol #2 Episode 94 (10.23.2016) - Cave Carson Has a Cybernetic Eye #1 Episode 96 (11.06.2016) - Shade the Changing Girl #2 Episode 97 (11.13.2016) - Doom Patrol #3 and Mother Panic #1 -- You can get a hold of us at weirdcomicshistory@gmail.com -- For our weekly writings check out www.weirdsciencedccomics.com For Chris' daily writings check out www.chrisisoninfiniteearths.com -- Check out www.weirdcomicshistory.blogspot.com for show notes! -- Visit us on Facebook at: www.facebook.com/CosmicTMillHistory and on Twitter @CosmicTMill -- Subscribe to the show on iTunes, Spotify, Stitcher, Google Play, iHeartRadio... wherever's most convenient! Order in the court!  (Ham and Cheese) For their final installment of "Exploring the Mysteries of Miracleman", your favorite legal eagles Chris (@acecomics) and Reggie (@reggiereggie) don their long robes and powdered wigs and do their darnedest to figure out just who owns Marvelman! They will discuss the wheelings and dealings of one Spawny fellow... and spend far too much time discussing the characters of Angela, Cogliostro, and Medieval Spawn... but they promise it all (mostly) fits the story. Overall, it's an hour and change of audio likely to make you even more curious and confused about Marvelman, and just how his story finally "shook out". -- You can get a hold of us at weirdcomicshistory@gmail.com -- For our weekly writings check out www.weirdsciencedccomics.com For Chris' daily writings check out www.chrisisoninfiniteearths.com -- Check out www.weirdcomicshistory.blogspot.com for show notes! -- Visit us on Facebook at: www.facebook.com/CosmicTMillHistory and on Twitter @CosmicTMill -- We're also now on YouTube... just search "weirdcomicshistory" (all one word) and you ought to be able to find us! -- Subscribe to the show on iTunes, Spotify, Stitcher, Google Play, iHeartRadio... wherever's most convenient! There comes a time when everybody has to leave home... and that's no different for our new friend Marvelman, who, during this episode makes the trek across the Atlantic, and starts getting published stateside by Eclipse Comics.  Not before a little tweak in his title though. For their middle installment of Exploring the Mysteries of MarveREDACTED... let's try that again.  Exploring the Mysteries of MarREDACTED.  Hmm... okay, we'll do it their way... For this installment of Exploring the Mysteries of Miracleman, Chris (@acecomics) and Reggie (@reggiereggie) discuss more growing pains than a house full of Seavers when they continue their long-form look at our Kimota-shouting hero.  This week they will set the stage for the domestic (if you live in the United States) arrival (and sorta-kinda revival) of Miracleman... and briefly discuss the remaining Alan Moore run as well as the still unfinished Neil Gaiman run. Then... they start getting into the nitty-gritty, and really the "meat and potatoes" of any real Miracleman discussion... the rights!  Welcome to the story, Mr. McFarlane... hope you survive the experience! Next week we will do our best to "tie a bow" on Miracleman, his story, and the creative forces all vying for ownership! Reading a comic book... then discussing it on the air, how hard could that be? Well, Chris (@acecomics) and Reggie (@reggiereggie) found out the first couple of times they tried recording this... without anything resembling a script or shownotes!  Fortunately, gentle listener... that's not the version you're going to be (hopefully) downloading today. In this, the VERY FIRST episode of the Cosmic Treadmill, the guys discuss the first appearance of DC Comics' first post-Crisis Superhero (or is he?) Booster Gold, created by Chris' very good friend Dan Jurgens (I hear they once took a picture together... just ask Chris, he'll tell ya!). It's a fun-filled half-hour of 80's excess... fashion... pop-culture... and horrible impressions of cultural icons Yakov Smirnoff and Balki Bartokomous.  Also, Booster Gold's in there somewhere!  Listen in and see how far we've (hopefully) come! -- Twitter Poll Results: 15% - Sandman #6 (24 Hours) 58% - Booster Gold #1 (1986) 27% - The World of Krypton (1979) From 53 votes!  Thank you to everyone who voted and shared! -- Originally aired in segment form during Weird Science DC Comics Podcast, Episode #78 (July 3, 2016) -- You can get a hold of us at weirdcomicshistory@gmail.com -- For our weekly writings check out www.weirdsciencedccomics.com For Chris' daily writings check out www.chrisisoninfiniteearths.com For our half-hearted blog/image depository check out www.weirdcomicshistory.blogspot.com -- Visit us on Facebook at: www.facebook.com/CosmicTMillHistory and on Twitter @CosmicTMill -- Subscribe to the show on iTunes, Stitcher, Google Play... wherever's most convenient! That sound you just heard was that of a bubble bursting!  What goes up, must come down... even in the world of comics.  Much of this "coming down" just happened to occur in the year 1995.  Our time-trapped twosome deliver another heaping dollop of nostalgia when they chat about things like the O.J. Simpson murder case, Sony PlayStaton, WCW Monday Nitro... and even some comic books! Comic events discussed include X-Men: The Age of Apocalypse, The Death of Aunt May, DC vs. Marvel (or Marvel vs. DC if you prefer),  Marvel's attempt to self-distribute their books... which led to our current Diamond monopoly... and the most devastating thing to happen that year, Chris walking away from comics for awhile.  It's a sobering tale of a boy and his lunch money... Throughout this re-upload, Chris (@acecomics) and Reggie (@reggiereggie) mention an episode of Cosmic Treadmill they were researching during this time.  The episode in question is #24 (January 15, 2017) where they discuss the Spider-Man Clone Saga.  It is available in the archives.  Share your own stories from 1995 with us... unless you weren't born yet, that'll just make us feel really bad about ourselves... we'll probably begin questioning our life decisions as well... (Please note that around the four-minute mark, we refer to Arnold Drake and Leslie Waller's merged pen name (on It Rhymes With Lust) as Leslie Drake... when it was actually credited to Drake Waller) Whoops!  Wea culpa! -- ***Originally aired as a segment during Weird Science DC Comics Podcast, Episode #90 (September 25, 2016) -- You can get a hold of us at weirdcomicshistory@gmail.com -- For our weekly writings check out www.weirdsciencedccomics.com For Chris' daily writings check out www.chrisisoninfiniteearths.com For our half-hearted blog/image depository check out www.weirdcomicshistory.blogspot.com - Currently featuring pictoral evidence of EVERY (to our knowledge) pre-Crisis appearance of the enigmatic Monitor! -- Visit us on Facebook at: www.facebook.com/CosmicTMillHistory and on Twitter @CosmicTMill -- Subscribe to the show on iTunes, Stitcher, Google Play... wherever's most convenient! To coincide with the Cosmic Treadmill's (ongoing) 50th Podiversary Crisis on Infinite Earths extravaganza, Reggie (@reggiereggie) and Chris (@acecomics) have decided to dive a bit deeper and discuss the DC Comics (pre-Crisis) Multiverse... like, all of it!  They will discuss the "main Earths" most fans already know about, while also covering the nearly one-hundred that were added after the fact in Crisis on Infinite Earths: The Absolute Edition (2005). Don't worry about commiting the name of that book to memory, you're likely to hear it a time or two during the show! Prepare to learn about the skatey-eight hundred times Superman and Lois Lane got married and had children... marvel at the thought of Superman and Batman acting as villains while Lex Luthor plays the hero.  Just Imagine a world where all coffee is decafinated and Superboy wears red instead of blue... okay, we made that last one up.  Listen as we spoil more formerly "imaginary stories" than you can shake a chunk of Red-K at... and much, much more! -- Did we leave any of the "infinite Earths" out?  Are there any you'd like for us to expand upon?  Please reach out!   Any listener-theories?  We'd love to hear'em!
