We end Season 7 with BEAST BOY! A wild therapy session, plus a touching tribute to the late George Perez - listen now! Intro Appropriate doing this episode in the wake of George Perez's passing Season finale - apologies for no episode last week Background Beast Boy (Garfield Mark Logan) created by Arnold Drake and Bob Brown in The Doom Patrol #99 (Nov. 1965) Garfield Logan was living with his parents in Africa when he contracted an illness that was lethal to every species except the West African green monkey - his parents attempted to turn him into a monkey for 24 hours to let the disease run its course, but the experiment gave him the ability to transform into any animal, but he retained green pigment skin/fur His parents die, and he's court appointed to a villain who wants to use his powers - he is rescued by the Doom Patrol, and he joins their ranks for a time Later joins the Titans West, and then joins the New Teen Titans - renames himself Changeling As a member of the Titans, he had a relationship with Terra which ended when she revealed she was working for Deathstroke After Donna Troy's death, he forms a new Titans team with Cyborg & Starfire, but the team is beaten by Superboy-Prime He begins a relationship with Raven, but after they break up he leaves the team and rejoins the Doom Patrol Reintroduced in the New 52 as a member of the Ravagers, with red fur instead of his usual green due to connection to a extradimensional power source called The Red Is in a relationship with Terra once again, but after a battle with Deathstroke leaves him near death, he is rescued by Raven, who then mind controls him in a war against her father #BecauseComics In Rebirth, he once again joins the Titans, and is in a relationship with Raven Issues Ariel - where does his obsessive wisecracking come from? - Facade used to hide inner pain from loss Ariel - explain his relationship with Raven (14:11) Inferiority complex (25:06) Break (37:47) Plugs for BetterHelp, Scotch N Sports, and Howard Mackie Treatment - Theme is evolution (39:45) In-universe - He has to change each session and explain why Out of universe - (42:32) Skit (50:42) Hello Garfield, I'm Dr. Issues. - Please, call me Beast Boy…but I'm aaaaaall man, if you catch my drift. That's…um…incredibly awkward. You don't have to prove anything to me. - That's right, I don't. Now if you'll excuse me I Wait, we haven't started yet. -But I proved my point. I can do my own thing and get whatever I want, when I want. I don't need a doctor to tell me how to feel. Good, because I don't do that. -Alright then. *pause* Soooo…are you going to actually answer anything I say with a real answer and not just find a way to shrug it off? - Maybe. How much? My typical fee is - *interrupting* No, how much do you pay ME to put up with you being boring? You don't even know me! -You did a lot of school, right? Yes, but -*interrupting* and you think you're pretty smart, right? I don't brag -*same pace* I bet to have an office like this, you have a lot of money coming your way, too. That's none of your -*last time* But am I wrong? *pause* I can't remember the last time somebody tried to boil my essence down to bare bones stereotypes without a single hint of who I truly am. Let's try this the other way. You're a living being, right? - Yeah. You're a superhero, correct? -Sure You're incredibly desperate for attention, obviously -I wouldn't say *interrupting* And you're probably single, I take it - That's not *same pace* Plus you have weird ears - Low blow, man *same pace* And I I don't know what's up with your voice -*angry* STOP! I'm just matching tit-for-tat -No, NO, you're just trying to be a bully. And yet, like you said, was I wrong? What's the difference between what you did and what I did? -I was trying to pump you up, so you'd leave me alone. Instead you made it sound like I was making fun of you. There's a huge difference, and if you can't see that, then I don't think we should talk anymore. What if I told you that I failed at mimicking your style because it's unique? Does it sound more like a compliment? Plus, I enjoy being weird. -But that doesn't excuse busting my chops about being lonely sometimes! I didn't say you were lonely, just desperate for attention. -*pause* I don't get it. You sound like the life of the party. Do you have friends? -Yeah. Do you have an intimate relationship - Whoa, whoa, I don't go around telling bedtime stories. Let's just say, my name suits me. Oh brother…So anyway, you have friends and close relationships, but you still said I cracked wise about being lonely. That doesn't match up. How can you think that way even when you put so much energy out there to get people to like you? -They like me because I'm entertaining…no revelation there. *sigh* I'm talking about from YOUR side, though. Something is in your schtick that wants to be on all of the time. That usually means the person is hiding pain or sadness. Which is it? - *pause* I guess both. How long can you keep up that act? -It's not an act, alright? I really am this awesome! Asking a different way…how long do you stay in your basic form without turning into something else? - I'unno, I don't do it unless there's a reason to. So why do you do it with personal interactions? -*pause* You're really pushing this as a “thing,” aren't you? It's what I do. -Alright, here goes *morphing sound* What are you doing? -Hold on…almost *screaming* MY OFFICE CAN'T FIT - *elephant trumpet* I guess we'll have to address things my way. *angry* YOU DIDN'T HAVE TO BECOME THE ELEPHANT IN THE ROOM! - I figured we could stop using metaphors. *muffled* I can't even write my notes down - Guess you'll just have to…use your memory You are not permitted to use any more elephant jokes -*morphs again* How about this then? A gorilla…how droll. Let me guess, you weigh 800 pounds? -No, just 790. I had to get a little weight off of my shoulders I swear you are going to drive me bananas. Quit monkeying around and we can actually get somewhere. -No need to go ape over this. You are beyond annoying now. Please stop. -But you're playing into the puns yourself. It's a reflex and it's gotten me into some trouble. If you relax for a moment, I'll let you in on a secret. Humor is my main defense mechanism because the world is a tough place, and I don't know if I would survive without levity. I play into jokes more than any psychiatrist I know because it's my comfort zone. But sometimes I go too far, and I make those that love me pissed off because I had to learn when to stop and hear them without pre-loading a retort. So I'm leveling with you…from a professional stranger…pump the brakes once in a while so you can appreciate the sadder things in life more. Cry, ponder, just for a little bit. Otherwise you'll notice that others are experiencing things on a deeper level and you'll always miss out. - *pause* Dude, you really are a nerd. Thank you! Now can you just be Beast Boy? -*morphing sound* Call me Gar. Okay then. *pause* yo, for real, those puns were on point. -I KNEW IT! Don't let it go to your head. Willing to talk again? -Sure, whatever. But you're not, like, TRYING to make me cry or something, right? My old motto used to be “If you ain't cryin, I ain't tryin' “ - Glad you didn't use a bummer like that! See you around. Adam & the Emerald Enthusiast return to the early days of Kyle Rayner's run as he faces off with Dr. Polaris and confronts his feelings about Donna Troy.
So for the 100th episode of the Character Corner, Kriss & Dpalm are finally back on the DC side and we decided we didn't want to make it easy on ourselves and so we're tackling the Legion of Super-Heroes. The the history of the Legion of Super-Heroes is one that rivals Wonder Woman, Donna Troy and Hawkman as having some oof the most convoluted and rebooted/retconned history on the DC side. There are several reasons for why the history of the Legion is so hard to pin down. Part of that is like with a lot of these characters, it was never the plan for them to be around as long as they were. That coupled with a few other things make the Legion really hard to follow a history on: They're from the future. The 30th century (and 31st century) and time travel almost always makes things messy Their history is centered around Superboy So the first isn't too big of a deal. there's a lot of characters in DC history that play around with time. But when it comes to tying the characters to to Superboy…the follow up question has to be: Which One? Now we've covered Superboy's history on another episode but there's going to be some overlap here. Particularly in the early years of the Legion. Remember, there is a version of Superboy, particular the one we're talking about with the Legion that is a version of Clark Kent that later grows up to become Superman. Some other notable Superboy versions: Superboy Prime - From earth prime. Earth destroyed during Crisis. Becomes a villain The Metropolis Kid/Connor Kent (the clone) But for the Legion, we're talking Earth-1 Superboy (Later Pocket Universe Superboy which we will get into in episode 2). For this episode we keep it nice and simple and cover all the way up to the Great Darkness Saga which is still pre-crisis and before things get all weird. We focus mostly on how the concepts and early stories for the Legion of Super-Heroes really laid the groundwork for a lot of modern stories both in and out of comics. In episode 2 we'll really dive down into some of the specific characters as well as try to unwrap the craziness that happens post-crisis. Issues: Adventure Comics #247 - First Appearance First Appearance of Cosmic Boy, Saturn Girl and Lightning Lad/Boy Adventure Comics #267 - Second Appearance Adventure Comics #304 - “Death” of Lightning Lad Adventure Comics #329 - Brainiac 5 Introduces the Legion's Flight Ring Adventure Comics #346 - Jim Shooter's first story. Creates Ferro Lad, Karate Kid, Princess Projectra, Adventure Comics #352 - First Appearance of the Fatal Five Adventure Comics 353 - First real death of a Legionnaire Earthwar Superboy and the Legion of Super-Heroes #241 - 245 Gerry Conway, Roy Thomas and Paul Levitz Run Legion of Super-Heroes #259 - 286 The Great Darkness Saga Legion of Super-Heroes vol 2, #287, #290 - 294, Annual #1 & 3 Like what you hear? In this week's episode, we welcome special guest and friend of the show, Jack Adrien. We cover Jack's entire secret origin: what got him into pop culture, who his favorite childhood heroes were, when he found Mint Condition, how we all became friends, Jack's favorite Star Trek episodes across all series, and more. If you enjoy this episode, please like, share and subscribe to the podcast. You can reach us at Secretoriginsmc@gmail.com and visit the Facebook group The Secret Origins of Mint Condition. We are also on Instagram @secretoriginsmc. :14 James introduces the show and guest Jack Adrien. We dive right into what got him into pop culture. We talk about the first comics he started with: The Legion of Superheroes, Green Lantern (Hal Jordan specifically), The Flash (Wally West) and his other major influence, Star Trek. 5:40 Chris asks Jack why he was such a fan of The Legion of the Super Heroes. Jack and Joe talk about why they both enjoyed The Legion; Jack tells the tale of how The Legion comic allowed him to connect with his lifelong friend Pete and how comics brings us together. 10:00 James asks Jack where he got comics growing up and what his first comic book store was. This launches us into the conversation as to how Jack came to Mint Condition. 13:13 We start the conversation about how Jack became a store regular and started hanging out with people at the store. This leads into how Jack and James met. 18:02 We turn to when Jack and Joe first met at the store. They recall some of their crossover working for Barnes and Noble. 20:14 We talk about how Chris and Jack met: Chris tried to teach Jack Pokémon! Chris talks about how he enjoyed the fact that Jack wanted to hang at the store with him. 23:40 We discuss how Jack used to jump in and help at the store; Joe and Jack recall working an out of the store birthday party (brought up in the first episode of the podcast). Also, they commiserate about how the register at Mint Condition was very tricky to work and perhaps belonged in a museum. 26:34 Our conversation leads to the Comic Book Bull Session we used to have at the store, with Jack being the center piece of a few of them. Joe and Jack share that while at times they had differences of opinion, it was always a learning experience. We also get into Jack's favorite bull session topics and ones he would like to revisit on future podcasts. Plus, Chris gives a quick plug for the DC book Farsector. 32:44 We call back to the start of the episode and Jack talks about Hawkman. 35:45 We ask Jack to give his recommendation for a comic book to a new reader. This leads us to talk about Jack's favorite comic book/ books of all time, which include: The first run of The Sandman, Who is Donna Troy? and Mr. Majestic at the End of Time. 43:38 We ask Jack to name his favorite pop culture hero now. Jack reveals that is Benjamin Sisko, which leads us to talk about Jack's favorite Star Trek episodes through all the series. 55:44 We ask if Jack is currently reading comics, and what type of pop culture stuff he is following currently. This somehow gets us talking about Josh Bernhard's pick of Star Trek the Motion Picture as his favorite Star Trek and the future debate surrounding this contentious pick. It also opens up a conversation about diversity in MCU projects, and how sometimes they don't go far enough with the social part of commentary, and comic books usually take bigger risks with the social commentary and message. 1:15:00 We end by asking Jack how he's been introducing his son to classic movies, which his son considers “old movies”

Intro Thanks to all our Patrons: Humble Citizens Dan & Kate; Local Officials Frank, Rey, Jonathan; Mayors Angela, Chad, Devon, Maggie, Matt, Nyan, Ryan, Tasha; Presidents Ariel, Jeanine, Matt, and Ruby Background (2:00) Donna Troy created by Bob Haney and Bruno Tremiani in The Brave and the Bold #60 (July 1965) Donna Troy was originally introduced as Wonder Girl, Wonder Woman's younger sister, created in an effort to desexualize Diana and make her (and comics) acceptable to parents Given a name and backstory in 1969 - Donna was an orphan rescued in a fire by Diana, brought to Themyscira, and given Amazonian powers - took the name Donna Troy as a secret identity, and joined the Teen Titans #BecauseComics In 1984, Marv Wolfman & George Perez expanded the backstory in New Teen Titans - her birth mother was an unwed teen who put her up for adoption, and her adoptive mother put her back up for adoption after she couldn't make enough money to raise Donna - she ends up being sold, but the sellers get caught in a fire, thus resulting in her orphaning #BecauseComics She marries a man named Terry Long After Crisis on Infinite Earths, the DC history is rewritten, so that Wonder Woman is newly introduced to the world - this necessitated retconning Donna's history as well - now she is one of 12 orphans created by the Titans of Myth as “Titan Seeds”, who were named after ancient Greek cities and destined to become great heroes - the Titans of Myth erased her memory and sent her into the world - while battling her “sister” Sparta, the memories came back - Donna changes her name to Troia #BecauseComics Donna becomes pregnant with a child by Terry - a group of time-traveling Titans from the future reveal that her child is born as a god and destroys the world - to prevent this from happening, she sacrifices her powers and Robert is born normally #BecauseComics She joins the Darkstars and becomes an interstellar protector, but this splits up her marriage to Terry - Terry, Robert, and Terry's daughter are all killed in a car accident, and the grief ends her brief relationship with Kyle Rayner Origin retconned again where she was created by an Amazonian sorceress as a clone of Diana to be her friend - the clone was kidnapped by Dark Angel, who tortured Donna, forcing her to restart her life repeatedly - later revealed that Dark Angel is in fact a Donna Troy from another reality #BecauseComics THEN it's revealed that Donna is the only one who somehow retains memories of all the Multiverse pre-Crisis, and that every version of her origin story is simultaneously valid, because they are all alternate-universe versions of Donna #BecauseComics Following Infinite Crisis and One Year Later, Donna takes up the mantle of Wonder Woman while Diana serves in the US government In New 52, Donna is revealed to be created by an Amazonian sorceress to take over Themyscira from Diana, while also somehow having been a Teen Titan - she then joins the Fates after being killed in battle #BecauseComics Rebirth reconciles the discrepancy once again by saying she was created to destroy Diana, but the Amazons gave her false memories of being rescued to help normalize her #BecauseComics Issues (8:07) Identity issues Relationship issues - 2 marriages, plus she loves Roy Harper (16:02) Tragedy of loss of family in one fell swoop (23:22) Break (32:04) Plugs for BetterHelp, Last Sons of Krypton, and Meredith Finch Treatment (34:13) In-universe - Give Donna a bracelet made of threads from the Lasso of Truth Out of universe - Focus on addressing the immediate needs first, and build from there (37:25) Skit (feat. Jeanine) (44:47) DOC: Hello Donna, I'm Dr. Issues. DONNA: Hi Doc, nice to meet you. DOC: So, what's been going on that you came to see me? DONNA: I'm not exactly thrilled about this, but I'm having trouble turning the page in my life. DOC: Go on… DONNA: This is going to be a bit...complicated so try to keep up. DOC: You don't have to preface anything. My job is to listen. You're the one in charge of your life and how it unfolds. DONNA: Am I though? Anyway, I guess you can say it starts with family problems. I always felt like I owed everything to my sister, and I started to resent her for it. It's not easy living in the shadow of someone like that. DOC: Yes, I could see how that could be painful. You do seem to have a strong presence, so if your sister shares the same trait, I'm sure there were some conflicts. DONNA: Of course. There was the time she saved me, but I can be guilt free about that. I was a kid! Then I tried to take over for her, then I tried to be her...you know how it goes. DOC: Wait...what? DONNA: Nothing, really. She's just hard headed and gets emotional when I steal the spotlight. DOC: I see...I think. While I'm sure you know her well, I'd be careful to project your own interpretation of what someone else is feeling as pure fact. DONNA: Don't I know it! I think that's what a lot of people do to me! DOC: For instance… DONNA: I get rumors that people think I'm some sort of...I don't know...difficult person to get along with. They just can't handle a woman who's able to dish it out as well as take it. DOC: Haters always exist. Try to ignore the noise. DONNA: But what if it's your own husband? Hate's not the right word there. We were just...different to each other over time. Thank goodness I had the fortitude to learn that there are other fish in the sea. *pause, then gets emotional* Losing them still hurts, though. DOC: Yeah, I get that. Grief is totally natural. The pain fades, but it remains, only altered through time and reflection DONNA: Oh it's worse than that. I've lost so much, doctor. Not just divorce, but death. All of it is unfair. *bitter/angry* ALL OF IT! DOC: I hear it in your voice! Death is not something that anyone can take lightly. DONNA: And to relive it, only to die again, then try again, and be beaten down over and over...what would you do? Go crazy? No, I fight on. If it weren't for me, I wouldn't have survived. DOC: You...uh...showed a lot of resolution...in...um..conquering...your own...self doubt? I'm sorry, is this a metaphor or… DONNA: *still angry* I have to live. I have to be who I am! I'm nobody's puppet. Doctor, you can think I'm losing my senses all you want, but sometimes, things aren't going to make sense when I'm talking to you. I may screw up some details. But recognize that everything I'm going through is REAL. Nobody should have to endure what I have, and when I get the chance, I make sure I put a stop to ANYONE that tries to do that to someone else. Do I make myself clear?! DOC: *pause* From an emotional standpoint, yes. I'm not your enemy. DONNA: But what if I am? What if, based on everything I know about myself, everyone thinks I'm a risk that they don't want? What does that say about my love life? My career? How do I deal with the fact that the way I torture myself is to make myself fail over and over without mercy? How do I love myself enough to ignore how much I've hated myself? DOC: *flustered* You know what? I don't know. I won't pretend. I don't know how to process everything you've said so far. I'm still trying to untangle the convoluted way you've said things. BUT, I'm willing to do that. I'm not promising that this is going to be easy. I'll have to remain candid about the times that you lose me. If you're willing to still talk to me as I improve my grasp of your situation, I can offer some better insight. Until then, I think you need to slow down, just a bit, and let your thoughts catch up with your emotions. DONNA: I don't just sit back and let people tell me what to do. DOC: But I usually do sit back and let people tell me what they want. I'm doing that with you and it only leads to more tangents. I'm getting out of my comfort zone and roping it in just a bit DONNA: LIKE HER DOC: ...bad choice of words. I'm allowing you to focus. Back to basics. Who are you? DONNA: You start with the hardest question? DOC: Clarifying...what is your name? DONNA: Donna Troy DOC: And let's stop there. Thank you. DONNA: What? DOC: You can be confident in knowing you are Donna Troy. There is so much to unpack beyond that, but for now, let that be your principle. All of the other stuff may wax and wane in your conscience, but you need to keep yourself centered. You are Donna Troy. That is a worthy existence. Each session, I'll let you spend a bit of time saying what is on your mind, but in the end, we'll add one clarifying statement to conclude. That way, you'll be more sure of yourself so that you can trust yourself enough to know that you can handle anyone who gets in your way, even...yourself. DONNA: You don't get it...but you GET it. I can work with that. DOC: Wonderful. DONNA: DON'T START. Thoughts & reactions to Episode 8 of the Titans TV show introducing… finally!… Donna Troy! (21:27) MUSIC:...
Welcome to Episode 140 of Broadcast Geeks! On this podcast we discuss all things geek and nerd related, provided our DVR's have space and our Netflix accounts are our own and none others. This week, ALL of the Geeks (Jeff, Jake, Mitch, Nate and Matt Orrin) are joined by Carlos Madrid and are back in the space formerly inhabited by Sexpot Comedy, right above Mutiny Information Cafe, for another packed episode of geeky goodness. We talked more Titans, because it SO GOOD!! Seriously, this show has been delivering each week and it's gonne suck when the season is done. Will Dick become Nightwing this season? Who is the big bad? Did Starfire just kill Raven? We assume the answer to that one is no, but the show made it seem like its a possibility. This last episode introduced Wonder Girl, Donna Troy, and mentioned both Wonder Woman and the Justice League. We're also excited for the upcoming CW crossover event, Elseworlds, which will introduce some new characters such as Batwoman and Lois Lane. We know a little about the crossover, and talk as in depth as possible. We also got news that they casted the role of Renee Montoya (aka the Question) in the new Birds of Prey movie filming next year. Hopefully, DC can start making movies as good as their TV. Marvel, on the other hand, has no problem with their movies. The new Captain Marvel trailer just dropped and we paused recording to watch it. We've all seen it multiple times since because it looks real good. We talk more about the character that Jude Law is playing, which is not the possibly hinted at Mar-vell. Unfortunately, they wont be including any of the Netflix characters especially since Daredevil was just cancelled. That leaves Punisher and Jessica Jones, both of which will probably be cancelled after their next seasons. If they ever did use those characters, would they recast them? We hope not with some, especially Punisher. It almost Christmas time, and Duck Tales (Woo Ooo) just had a great Christmas episode. Turns it that Scrooge doesn't hate Christmas, its just his only day off each year and he wants to unwind with his buds, which happen to be the ghosts of Christmas Past, Present, and Future. This brought up everyones favorite version of the Christmas Carol. Some say Scrooged, others say the Mickey Mouse version. What is your definitive version? We ended with discussion on the Caped Crusader, and his fighting prowess. We wondered if Dick has ever fought Batman for any reason and, if so, could he beat Batman? Could Batman beat Daredevil, or even Iron Fist, in a fight? Listen and find out our thoughts! You can send your feedback and show topic ideas to broadcastgeeks@gmail.com. Welcome to Episode 139 of Broadcast Geeks! On this podcast we discuss all things geek and nerd related, provided our DVR's have space and our Netflix accounts are our own and none others. This week, the trio of Geeks (Jeff, Jake and Matt Orrin) are joined by Carlos Madrid and are back in the space inhabited by Sexpot Comedy, right above Mutiny Information Cafe, for another packed episode of geeky goodness. It's all about Titans again this week as this show continues to rock! We're seeing a much darker Dick Grayson work his anger out, and get him closer to Nightwing. We don't know if he'll change during this season, but it is definitely going to happen at some point. The upcoming (current?) episode will introduce Donna Troy. We discuss her place in the world of DC, and how she compares to her more "adult" counterpart, Wonder Woman. We also talk about the upcoming Swamp Thing as this remains high on our interest list. We then talk about Venom and its worldwide financial success, especially for not being the next movie released in the last few years. It's getting close to hitting $1billion!! What does that mean for Spiderman going away from Sony and back to Marvel? Well, it doesn't look that good. If they can make a Spidey related movie, WITHOUT Spiderman, with this much success then who knows what they will continue to do. The new Spiderman game came up next and it is so much fun. Do you prefer to play games on Console or PC? This could be a hotbed topic for the Geeks! The CW-verse takes over the discussion next, and we talked about our favorite shows right now. Arrow seems to be atop the heap for another week. We're ALL anticipating the upcoming crossover event, Elseworlds, especially with the new trailer CW released. We cannot wait to see Batwoman make her appearance. Legends of Tomorrow, while not part of the crossover, is also worth the watch. They have been doing a lot of fun, magical, stuff. We finish up with Sylvester Stallone and the next Rocky based movie, Creed 2. This movie appears to be a double sequel, one to Rocky 4 and also to the first Creed movie. Regardless, we're pretty excited to see Dolph Lundgren once again on the screen, big or little. We started naming our favorite Sly films, as there are plenty of really good ones. Which is your favorite? You can send your feedback and show topic ideas to broadcastgeeks@gmail.com. Follow us on Twitter @broadcastgeeks. The Titans try to figure out who's the traitor on the team.Affiliate link included.Transcript:Graham: It's time for the Titans to root out the traitor. Find out all about it as we take a look at Titans Volume 3: A Judas Among Us.Announcer:Welcome to the Classy Comics podcast where we search for the best Comics in the universe. From Boise, Idaho here is your host, Adam Graham. Graham:The Titans have been around for 50 years in either the form of the Teen Titans, the original teen from the 1960s, with sidekicks for Batman, the Flash and Aquaman to the present day. There have been a lot of iterations of this. One of the more popular ones are the Titans, which are the original Teen Titans, people who knew each other since they were kids, now fighting together as adults, young adults. The Titans disappeared in the New 52. In Titans Rebirth, it was revealed that their memories had been stolen and Wally's return helped them to remember who they were and come together as a team with old Wally West, a big part of the action and what had happened. They went through a lot of difficult times including Lazarus Contract, which I covered very early in the series. In which they were given cause to doubt Dick Grayson over his agreeing to, with Deathstroke, to something called the Lazarus Contract. However, what exactly that entailed, I'm still not clear on and more importantly, the heart of the team, Wally West had his own heart injured as a teen when the teams traveled back in time to stop Deathstroke. This was Damian Wayne's decision at work. So, you've got the first 2 volumes of Titan stories and you also have the crossover event, the Lazarus Contract in the rearview mirror.I really do like the first issue of this book. It's a good starting place, even though it's the first issue of volume 3. Issue 12, if you were reading the issues individually as they came out. It begins with Omen visiting Psimon in prison to try and get information about H.I.V.E. They are a group that was masquerading as someone who was just helping out metahumans by getting rid of their powers and quirks so they didn't stop them from living a normal life and they had gotten, actually, some heroes to do it including Mal Duncan, the former guardian, who tried to get his wife to do it as well. She had the identity of Bumblebee. However, in the process she didn't get her powers taken, she got her entire memory. So, she doesn't remember Mal and does not remember her baby, which is a major problem they have to resolve. On top of Wally's heart, Donna Troy has learned that her own background is a lie. She's picked that up from Wonder Woman and this reflects the fact that Donna Troy's identity has been something that writers have been messing around with for decades when she was first introduced on the Teen Titans as a Wonder Girl, which was based off of Bob Haney's misunderstanding that there actually was a Wonder Girl from seeing covers of Wonder Woman comics when this was actually just Wonder Woman as a girl and not a separate character that he could use but it's become more serious and it becomes more serious still. The book still has a lot of fun and I think the art is great. Some of the resolutions, the question about old Wally West and his heart, really is addressed and it does intersect some plot points. I think the biggest thing is the crossed on the team because Simon in that first issue, states that there is a traitor on the Titans and that plot plays out and adds to the sense of suspicion on the team. With old Wally, it does put him in this very interesting mental state He is at risk of dying when he uses his powers but he still wants to help people and still wants to be part of the team and he actually has a moment with Donna Troy when he kisses her and that creates some problems with Roy Harper, aka Arsenal,
Amanda's super hitched, and Frank attended the wedding! Now he's got questions and critiques, and wants the inside scoop on what it takes to plan a dinosaur-themed wedding.
