Godzilla and Robot Man - sorry, Jet Jaguar - battle the dastardly Megalon and psychopathic Gigan. Along the way, we meet fashion icon Robert Dunham and wonder if Goro and Jinkawa are more than friends. Plus, what do Ultraman and John Belushi have to do with this film? Then enjoy Peter Lorre's review of The Unknown (1927) starring Lon Chaney. All that and more as we discuss the campiest Godzilla movie this side of Seatopia. Thanks for listening, friends. Welcome to the place where we get to let our geek flags fly and talk about all things geek. Basically a fuzzy guide to life, the universe, and everything but mostly geek stuff. This is a look into the world of geekdom and some geek news, comics, The Simpsons, Star Wars, and whatever randomness finds its way onto the recording. Over five episodes, this podcast dedicated itself to discussing 94 heroes representing diversity in comics and after way too long a break, Blue and I are back for more. As always it is a joy and a pleasure to discuss comics as an important medium of representation and cover diverse heroes that matter so much. The world may seem divided but we are united in talking about this. For this round, we add Robot Man, Captain Universe (Tamara Devoux), Kid Quick, Kalel Superman of Earth 23, Synch (Everett Thomas), Darwin (Armando Munoz), Cardiac (Elias Wortham), Atom (Ryan Choi), Big Hero 6, Deadly Class, Wong, Doctor Mid-Nite, Green Lantern (Kyle Rayner), Red Wolf, Black Manta, Midnighter & Apollo, Moon Knight, and Hawkeye for your consideration. We've been saving a bunch of mail-calls for this unboxing video! Paul picked up a House of Secrets issue 1 CGC 3.5. This is the book which started the HOS run which later in issue 92, Swamp Thing makes his first appearance. The FOMO book was Thor issue 6 Second Print in a CGC 9.8. This cover shows Thanos wearing the 7th Infinity Stone which apparently is a big part of the comics story moving forward. Again, pure spec and FOMO. Jimmy went with Gargoyles 1. This is the second series produced for the Gargoyles storyline after the show was cancelled in the 90s. The series did not last long and the trade paperbacks are actually extremely rare and high priced because of the small production run. With the latest Gargoyles Dynamite series, had to add this to the collection. My Greatest Adventure #80 This is a book Jimmy has been looking for a while after watching the Doom Patrol on HBO MAX. This is the first appearance of the original Doom Patrol, with Dr. Niles Caulder, Negative Man, Elasti-girl, and Silver Age Robotman. Found a great deal after the hype died down a little as we try to not play into the FOMO aspect of the hobby. If you haven't checked out the show, do yourself a favor and please do because Diane Guerrero as Crazy Jane and Brendan Frasier as Robot Man are incredible in the show. #fomo #unboxing #comicbooks https://linktr.ee/MagicCityPodcast Appease the Algorithm Gods!
