Newer imaging technologies integrated into current diagnostic algorithms are aiding in the diagnosis of RVO and guiding therapy. Further, significant visual and anatomic improvements have been demonstrated with anti-vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) therapies in patients with central or branch RVO-related macular edema, and refinement of treatment protocols have the potential to further enhance outcomes as well as reduce treatment burden.
