A new report from Beyond Plastics estimates that New Yorkers could save $1.3 billion over just one decade if the Packaging Reduction and Recycling Infrastructure Act is adopted. We hear from three speakers: Judith Enck, President of Beyond Plastics and former Region 2 EPA Administrator; Senator Pete Harckham, the lead Senate sponsor; and Ulster County Executive Jen Metzger. The report — called "Projected Economic Benefits of the New York Packaging Reduction and Recycling Infrastructure Act" — outlines substantial cost savings, reduced packaging waste, and higher recycling rates from adoption of the bill into law. The staggering amount of single-use packaging waste is not only bad for the environment and public health, but it is also a huge waste of taxpayers' dollars. Biden's EPA advisor admits $50B “insurance policy” against Trump, Judge gives Dept. of Government Efficiency massive win, PCA repents of helping illegals stay

It's Thursday, February 20th, A.D. 2025. This is The Worldview in 5 Minutes heard on 125 radio stations and at www.TheWorldview.com.  I'm Adam McManus. (Adam@TheWorldview.com) By Adam McManus 74% rise in hate speech in India targeting Christians and Muslims While India's Prime Minister Narendra Modi met with President Donald Trump last Wednesday to discuss the threat of increased tariffs between the two countries, the Center for the Study of Organized Hate found a 74% rise in hate speech incidents last year in India compared to 2023. About 10% of the 1,165 incidents targeted Christians — a population that makes up just 2.3% of the population — while more than 98% of cases targeted Muslims, either alone or together with Christians, reports International Christian Concern. In John 15:18-19, Jesus said, “If the world hates you, be aware that it hated Me before it hated you. … Because you do not belong to the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hates you.” Judge gives Dept. of Government Efficiency massive win On Tuesday, a federal judge refused to immediately block Elon Musk and the Department of Government Efficiency from accessing government data systems or participating in worker layoffs, reports The Guardian. U.S. District Judge Tanya Chutkan, an Obama appointee, found that there were legitimate questions about the billionaire's authority, but said there was not enough evidence of grave legal harm to justify a temporary restraining order. The decision came in reaction to a February 13th lawsuit filed by 14 attorneys general in Democratic states challenging the Department of Government Efficiency's authority to access sensitive government data. But the Trump administration has maintained that layoffs are ordered by agency heads. Biden's EPA advisor admits $50 billion ‘insurance policy' against Trump In an undercover video that was released last December, Project Veritas revealed that the Environmental Protection Agency was frantically doling out billions of dollars before then President-elect Donald Trump took office on January 20th, 2025. The video revealed that Brent Efron, Special Advisor for Implementation at the EPA, was having drinks with a undercover Project Veritas reporter, bragging about how much hard-earned taxpayer money he was doling out to liberal climate groups. Listen. EFRON: “We've given out, like, tens of billions of dollars.” REPORTER: “The EPA has?” EFRON: “Like last year, like $50 billion.” REPORTER: “$50 million?” EFRON: “No. billion dollars. Billion with a B.” REPORTER: “$50 billion?” EFRON: “Yes, for climate things.” Shockingly, Efron described what they were doing at the EPA leading up to Trump's January 20th, 2025 inauguration as throwing gold bars off the Titanic. EFRON: “It truly feels like we're on the Titanic, and we're throwing, like, gold bars off the back end.” REPORTER: “Does it really?” EFRON: “Yeah.” REPORTER: “It's gotta feel weird.” EFRON: “It's weird. I mean, it's it's not good vibes. It's not good. I mean, everyone's very sad.” REPORTER: “Where are the gold bars going to?” EFRON: “Non-profits, states, tribes, cities.” REPORTER: “Anything, like, in the news that I would know of?” EFRON: “Not yet.” The undercover Project Veritas reporter wanted to know what would happen if the Trump people discovered what the Biden appointees were doing with the money. REPORTER: “What happens if they try to stop it? They can?” EFRON: “When they come in, if we haven't gotten out the door, then they can stop it.” REPORTER: “You've got like two months. If they don't get it out by a certain date. What's that date?” EFRON: “It's the inauguration, the 20th.  It's noon on the 20th of January.” REPORTER: “You can work right down to the minute?” EFRON: “It's probably like a little after noon. Yeah.” REPORTER: “Hey, throw a couple billion here or there.” EFRON: “It's until the Trump people come in and tell us we can no longer give out money.” REPORTER: “Wow!” Efron also said, “We gave them [the nonprofits] the money because… it was an insurance policy against Trump winning. Because they aren't [a government agency], they're safer from Republicans taking the money away.” Trump's EPA Administrator found $20 billion siphoned away by Biden's people Lee Zeldin, Trump's Environmental Protection Agency Administrator, was horrified by this revelation, reports The Western Journal. ZELDIN: “An extremely disturbing video circulated two months ago featuring a Biden EPA political appointee talking about how they were tossing gold bars off the Titanic, rushing to get billions of your tax dollars out the door before Inauguration Day. The gold bars were tax dollars, and ‘tossing them off the Titanic' meant the Biden administration knew they were wasting it.” To his credit, Zeldin was able to recover $20 billion of our taxpayer money, according to his Monday video. ZELDIN: “Fortunately, my awesome team at EPA has found the gold bars. Shockingly, roughly $20 billion of your tax dollars were parked at an outside financial institution by the Biden EPA. This scheme was the first of its kind in EPA history, and it was purposely designed to obligate all of the money in a rush job with reduced oversight. “Even further, this pot of $20 billion was awarded to just eight entities that were then responsible for doling out your money to [Non Governmental Organizations] and others, at their discretion, with far less transparency. Just under $7 billion was sent to one entity called the Climate United Fund.” Zeldin explained what he intends to do now. ZELDIN: “Here's my position as EPA Administrator. The financial agent agreement with the bank needs to be instantly terminated, and the bank must immediately return all of the ‘gold bars' that the Biden administration tossed off the Titanic. “EPA needs to reassume responsibility for all of these funds. We will review every penny that has gone out the door. I will be referring this matter to the Inspector General's office, and we'll work with the Justice Department as well.” Presbyterian Church in America repents of helping illegals stay And finally, The Presbyterian Church in America (PCA) recently issued a statement repenting for guidance on one of its websites that advised illegal immigrants how to avoid detainment by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, reports The Christian Post. After it went viral on X last week, the conservative Presbyterian denomination deleted a resource page titled "Refugee & Immigrant Ministry for Churches: Help Immigrants Facing 2025 Policy Changes.” It was published in January by Mission to North America, a subsidiary of the PCA. Megan Basham, author of Shepherds for Sale: How Evangelical Leaders Traded Truth for A Leftist Agenda, tweeted, “The verbiage of this document from the [Presbyterian Church in America] is overall emotionally manipulative, showing no respect for U.S. immigration law. It assumes that the only way you can love your immigrant neighbor is by helping him continue to remain in the country illegally.” After the guidance was deleted, Mission to North America Director Irwyn Ince issued an extensive statement of repentance. He wrote, "We affirm that it is our Christian duty to obey the lawful commands of the civil magistrate and be subject to their authority (Romans 13:1-4; 1 Peter 2:13-14). To counsel otherwise is a sin. We confess that we fell short of our Biblical and Confessional standard. We repent and apologize.” Indeed, 1 Peter 2:13-14 does say, “Submit yourselves for the Lord's sake to every human authority: whether to the emperor, as the supreme authority, or to governors, who are sent by him to punish those who do wrong and to commend those who do right.” Close And that's The Worldview on this Thursday, February 20th, in the year of our Lord 2025. Subscribe by Amazon Music or by iTunes or email to our unique Christian newscast at www.TheWorldview.com. How the Infrastructure Investment Act, Inflation Reduction Act and CHIPS Act have been huge boosts to Ohio – and how other communities can tap them too. Plus, insightful career advice, such as… “Often we put women in these do-gooder roles, and, these socially beneficial roles, and they take significantly lower salaries because part of what they want to achieve is service and positive societal benefits forward.…(but) ask for a higher salary, even if it is in a social service oriented sector.… I think any woman in any job, whatever she is trying to achieve…take whatever you think your level is, and add at least 20% because you're definitely underselling yourself.” Betha Burke on Electric Ladies Podcast Read Joan's Forbes articles here. On this episode of the podcast, Rick Gates, then-first time presidential candidate Donald Trump's 2016 Deputy Campaign Chairman dives into the anticipated transition process for President Trump's second term, highlighting critical appointments and their far-reaching impact. Gates reflects on President Joe Biden's respectful meeting with the incoming 47th president, suggesting Biden's cordial approach was a gesture of recognizing Trump's ‘resounding' victory. He also underscores President Trump's strengthened national security team, shaped by insights from the first term and extensive transition process. Other key appointments include Tom Homan as Border Czar, Elon Musk to streamline government efficiency and Pete Hegseth as Secretary of Defense — each seen as essential to Trump's second-term agenda. Gates also envisions transformative leadership within several agencies, discussing the potential of Cabinet members like Florida Representative Matt Gaetz as U.S. Attorney General and former New York Congressman Lee Zeldin as EPA Administrator as they're both poised to bring sweeping reforms under their leadership and at the direction of President Donald J. With that, President Trump has also named Stephen Miller as White House Deputy Chief Of Staff, Lee Zeldin to serve as EPA Administrator and Elise Stefanik as US Ambassador to the United Nations. Green Connections Radio - Women Who Innovate With Purpose, & Career Issues, Including in Energy, Sustainability, Responsibil

“You need to be looking 360 in terms of industry, what's developing, what's coming down the pike from a technology standpoint, from a risk standpoint. You should be educating yourself constantly and stretching yourself to go into a new area. Don't just be content to sit and do the same thing….Push yourself to do something a little different, stretch…because that broadens you as a professional, first of all. It's just so much more interesting than doing the same thing every day. But, it also makes you a better professional… because you are seeing things that the other people who are just doing the same old, same old, aren't necessarily seeing.” Tara Giunta on Electric Ladies Podcast The air is electric with the range of changes swirling around us. How Climate Policies Boost Economic Opportunities – Gina McCarthy, Fmr. White House National Climate Advisor & Head of the Climate Policy Office (Biden Admin.), Fmr. EPA Administrator (Obama Admin.) “(People) just have to work with their own local communities….We are talking about $400 billion of investment in the Inflation Reduction Act already captured. That's just two years. This is a 10-year bill…To me, what's most exciting is that the opportunities are real, and you can grab them.…Already 3.4 million families have grabbed Inflation Reduction Act tax breaks, and put solar on their roofs, made their homes more energy efficient, which considerably lowers energy bills for those families. And, when you get into families and communities and people can see and feel the benefits, that's when it's going to take off. And so I'm seeing that happening already, but we're also recognizing that we just have a, a wealth of broader opportunities available.” Gina McCarthy on Electric Ladies Podcast In this year's historic election, many people may be confused about how climate policy relates to the economy – or they may think it's only an economic drain. But it turns out that climate and energy policy are huge economic drivers. How? Listen to Gina McCarthy, fmr. White House National Climate Advisor & Head of the Climate Policy Office and fmr. EPA Administrator in this enlightening conversation with Electric Ladies Podcast host Joan Michelson live from the Democratic National Convention. They also share insightful career advice. You'll hear about: How do the Inflation Reduction Act & Infrastructure Investment Act create economic growth? How can regular people, homeowners and small businesses seize opportunities in the IRA, no matter what state they're in? (McCarthy offers tips & explains where the money is going so far.) How will Vice President Kamala Harris address climate change and clean energy? Why doesn't she talk about it more? Where the funding and incentives are for training in these new climate- and clean energy-related industries and fields. Plus, insightful career advice, such as… “My advice would be to look for a career path that makes you happy. One that makes you feel like when you got home, you did something….and I would be open to many different things…I don't think women should pigeonhole themselves. I think they should look for stretch goals. Go into something you didn't do before, and it will excite you to learn….I just want women to consider something new and different. I want them to have the courage to say, ‘I can do this.'” Gina McCarthy on Electric Ladies Podcast Read Joan's Forbes articles here. The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency is gearing up to fund $40 billion of electric grid and sustainability projects. In this episode of Grid Talk, host Marty Rosenberg talks Zealan Hoover who is the EPA Administrator's Senior Advisor for Implementation. They discuss the range of projects to be funded.“We've received over $100 billion dollars in supplemental appropriations. A lot of that is for electric system decarbonization and other climate investments,” Hoover said. The amount far exceeds any effort the agency has undertaken in its 50-year history. “We have received tens of billions of dollars across multiple programs through the Infrastructure Law and the Inflation Reduction Act to both accelerate grid decarbonization and to get more zero emission equipment plugged into that grid.”States, cities, and tribes are now competing for $4.6 billion worth of projects, with awards to be announced starting in July. “We've received over $30 billion dollars in project proposals so we will be funding the best of the best. We're seeing really innovative proposals that are tailored to the needs of local communities and states,” Hoover said.Zealan Hoover has led EPA's agency-wide implementation of more than $100 billion in programs authorized under the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law and the Inflation Reduction Act. Prior to that, he worked in the private sector advising organizations on a wide range of strategic and operational matters with an emphasis on decarbonization and managing climate risk. Hoover graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

This Day in Legal History: Hoover DeadOn this day, May 2, in 1972, J. Edgar Hoover, the controversial and influential Director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), passed away at the age of 77. Hoover had been at the helm of the FBI since 1924, dramatically shaping the agency's direction and methods for nearly half a century. His tenure began during the tumultuous era of Prohibition when he aggressively pursued bootleggers and organized crime. This initial success helped cement his reputation and solidify his position within the U.S. government.Hoover's impact extended far beyond the fight against crime. After World War II, he focused the FBI's attention on combating communism, a stance that resonated with the fears of the American public during the Cold War era. Under his direction, the FBI also kept close surveillance on civil rights organizations and pro-rights groups, reflecting his belief in strict law enforcement and his skepticism of civil liberties movements. This approach led to extensive criticism of Hoover, particularly concerning his methods and the extent of his power. His leadership saw the introduction of scientific crime-fighting techniques, including the centralized fingerprint file and the FBI Laboratory. Hoover also initiated the FBI National Academy, which aimed to improve the standards and cooperation among different American police forces. However, his secretive actions and the unauthorized surveillance programs, such as COINTELPRO, marred his legacy and led to significant changes in how U.S. intelligence and law enforcement agencies were overseen.Hoover's death marked the end of an era characterized by aggressive enforcement tactics intertwined with significant controversies regarding civil liberties. His influence on the FBI and American law enforcement continues to be a topic of study and debate, reflecting the complexities of balancing national security and individual rights. His passing prompted a reevaluation of the powers and oversight of federal law enforcement agencies, ultimately leading to reforms intended to curb the excesses witnessed during his administration.A group of investment firms is poised to secure a significant profit from a $5.6 million investment in a legal case related to the bankruptcy of Sanchez Energy Corp. These firms, led by Benefit Street Partners, provided financial backing to a coalition of unsecured creditors involved in the legal disputes surrounding the 2019 bankruptcy of Sanchez Energy. This funding arrangement promised the investment firms 90% of any financial recoveries from the proceedings. The lawsuit centers on the control of Sanchez Energy, which has since been rebranded as Mesquite Energy Inc. following its emergence from bankruptcy. The Delaware Trust Co., representing these unsecured creditors, succeeded in gaining 70% control of the newly named company. Other firms involved include Brigade Capital, Avenue Capital, and Taconic Capital. However, a group of unsecured creditors, led by Lake Whillans and Clear Harbor, contested this arrangement, arguing that it improperly altered the bankruptcy reorganization plan by diverting a disproportionate share of the equity—potentially worth hundreds of millions—to the investors. They filed a lawsuit alleging that this deal was the result of a secretive conspiracy that unfairly benefited the largest claimholders. The legal challenge saw a development when Judge Marvin Isgur of the US Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of Texas dismissed one of the claims against this funding deal but allowed Lake Whillans and Clear Harbor to amend their lawsuit to pursue other specific claims.Investors Near $600 Million Windfall in Texas Bankruptcy CaseThe EPA has allocated $3 billion from the bipartisan infrastructure law to assist states in replacing lead drinking water pipes, as part of a broader $15 billion initiative that Congress approved to be distributed in yearly installments through 2026. This funding will be managed through the EPA's Drinking Water State Revolving Fund and is expected to aid in the replacement of approximately 1.7 million lead pipes nationwide.Michael Regan, the EPA Administrator, emphasized the urgent need for this initiative, pointing out the historical use of lead in service lines and its proven dangers. Regan highlighted that there is no safe level of lead exposure, underlining the critical public health issue this program aims to address.Illinois and Florida are the major beneficiaries in the 2024 funding tranche, set to receive over $240 million and nearly $229 million respectively. This funding distribution underscores the nationwide push to mitigate lead risks in drinking water.Additionally, the EPA plans to release a memo outlining how states can best utilize these funds and other resources to minimize lead exposure effectively. This includes the establishment of best practices for deploying the infrastructure funds.Amid these developments, utilities are under a tight deadline, set for October 16, to complete an inventory of all lead pipes as mandated by the Lead and Copper Rule from the Trump administration. Furthermore, the EPA is proposing a significant update to this rule, named the Lead and Copper Rule Improvements (LCRI), which would accelerate lead pipe replacements, requiring utilities to replace 10% of lead service lines each year over the next decade, a sharp increase from the current requirement of 3% annually. This proposal is expected to be finalized by October. This initiative and regulatory update are critical steps towards eradicating lead contamination in U.S. drinking water systems, reflecting a significant commitment to public health and safety.EPA Sends $3 Billion to States for Lead Water Pipe ReplacementMich. to receive $62 million for lead pipe replacements this year, EPA announcesJohn Eastman, an attorney for Donald Trump, faced a setback when his bid to lift his suspension from practicing law in California was denied. State Bar Court Judge Yvette Roland determined that Eastman failed to demonstrate that he no longer poses a threat to the public. This decision aligns with her earlier recommendation for Eastman's disbarment due to deceptive statements he made about the 2020 presidential election's electoral process.Judge Roland emphasized that the suspension serves to protect the public, citing Eastman's significant transgressions that involved moral turpitude and his continued refusal to acknowledge any wrongdoing. She indicated that these factors contribute to a likely risk of future misconduct, thereby justifying the suspension.Eastman, a former law professor at Chapman University, was placed on inactive enrollment shortly after the disbarment recommendation. The California Supreme Court is expected to make the final decision, but it is improbable that it will deviate from Judge Roland's recommendation.Further compounding Eastman's legal challenges, he and other associates, including former New York City mayor Rudolph Giuliani, were indicted for their efforts to overturn the 2020 election results in Georgia. They have all pleaded not guilty to charges of election interference. Amidst these legal battles, Eastman claimed that the suspension jeopardizes his livelihood and his ability to cover substantial legal fees, estimated at $3 million. The State Bar's Office of Chief Trial Counsel argued that the suspension is mandatory under California law for anyone recommended for disbarment, emphasizing that the suspension was not due to client complaints but due to the significant threat Eastman poses to public safety and justice administration. Eastman plans to appeal the decision, a process expected to take about a year.Eastman Judge Denies His Bid to Pause Law License SuspensionThe trial of Donald J. Trump, which is a landmark case as it involves a former U.S. president, resumed with attorney Keith Davidson back on the witness stand. Davidson previously represented Stormy Daniels and Karen McDougal, both of whom alleged affairs with Trump. The focal point of his testimony revolves around the negotiations for hush-money payments aimed at preventing these women from publicizing their stories prior to the 2016 presidential election.Davidson's testimony provided insights into the secretive world of celebrity scandal management, detailing a $130,000 payment arranged by Trump's lawyer Michael Cohen to silence Daniels. Cohen purportedly disguised these payments as "legal expenses" within the Trump Organization's books, an action for which Trump has been charged with falsifying business records. If found guilty, Trump could face up to four years in prison. He has pleaded not guilty and denied the allegations of the affair. The testimony highlighted Davidson's doubts about Cohen's reliability in making the payment, comparing his behavior to a distractible character from the movie "Up." Despite these uncertainties, Cohen tried to reassure Davidson by forwarding an email from First Republic Bank confirming his financial solvency.Davidson also touched upon his representation of McDougal, who received a $150,000 hush payment from the parent company of The National Enquirer, a deal aimed at suppressing negative news during the election campaign. As the trial progresses, the former publisher of The National Enquirer, David Pecker, testified about his refusal to facilitate a payment for Daniels, distancing himself from further financial involvement.Prosecutors are expected to conclude their questioning of Davidson soon, after which Trump's defense will cross-examine him. Additionally, the judge, Juan M. Merchan, will address instances where Trump allegedly violated a gag order by attacking witnesses and jurors, having already fined him $9,000 for previous violations. This session follows a series of significant courtroom activities, including video evidence from Trump's 2016 campaign rallies and testimonies that underscore the contentious atmosphere surrounding this high-profile trial.Additionally, today, the prosecutor has requested additional fines for Donald Trump for violating a gag order. The prosecutor argued that Trump's recent comments jeopardized the trial's integrity by intimidating potential witnesses. Trump's lawyer defended his right to respond to political attacks, but the judge appeared skeptical. Trump faces potential fines and even jail time for violating the gag order, with the trial continuing amidst a backdrop of political tension and legal challenges.Trump Trial to Resume With Testimony From Keith Davidson, Stormy Daniels' Lawyer - The New York TimesTrump hush-money trial judge to weigh more fines for defying gag order | Reuters Get full access to Minimum Competence - Daily Legal News Podcast at www.minimumcomp.com/subscribe

Ken Cook is the president and co-founder of Environmental Working Group (EWG), whose mission is to empower individuals with breakthrough research to make informed choices and live a healthy life in a healthy environment. EWG lives its mission by empowering American families with easy-to-use, data-driven tools to help reduce their exposure to potentially harmful ingredients in everyday products like foods, personal care products, cosmetics, and cleaning products.   Ken testifies regularly before House and Senate committees, and for the past 20 years has briefed top White House officials and every U.S. Secretary of Agriculture and EPA Administrator on EWG's research and policy positions. In the 1990s, EWG's research was a major factor in the passage of the landmark pesticide reform law, the Food Quality Protection Act.  In this episode, we discuss: ●      Why products containing harmful ingredients are sold in retail outlets across the USA ●      The changing landscape of environmental policy in the USA ●      The power of the Internet to create transparency and empower consumer choice  Key Takeaways: ●      Investing in Progress, Not Stagnation - I wonder about the mountains of money poured into lobbying since 1996 to keep industries unregulated, clinging to a harmful status quo. Imagine, for a moment, if those funds were instead channeled into innovating for a better future. Where we direct our resources is a choice between stagnation and evolution. It's high time we bravely choose to evolve, not just for our sake but for the generations to come, shaping a legacy that's woven together with pride and progress. ●      Toxic Products – A Call for Responsibility - It's wild to me that a lot of products on store shelves contain known toxic ingredients. Known carcinogens as ingredients. The burden of screening products for safety should not be placed on the consumer, it should be placed on the government setting regulations that make toxic-free products a bare minimum before something can be sold. And the accountability should be placed on business leaders, ensuring consumer safety is standard practice.  ●      California Leading the Charge in US Product Safety - California's recent legislative victories in banning harmful chemicals in cosmetics are a beacon of hope and a call to action. With Governor Newsom's approval of legislation banning 26 toxic chemicals in 2023, following the landmark Toxic-Free Cosmetics Act of 2020, California is trailblazing personal care product safety. When the federal government lags, states like California step up. As the largest economy in the USA, California's laws can create a domino effect. If a company has to innovate safer products for California, those safer products will probably be sold in all states. But let's be clear: we've only scratched the surface. When you compare California's legislation to the European Union's ban on nearly 2,000 chemicals in personal care products, it's evident that our journey towards safer products is just beginning.  References: ●      Connect with Ken on LinkedIn ●      Environmental Working Group ○      Skin Deep database ○      Healthy Living App ○      EWG Verified ●      Natural Resources Defense Council ●      Environmental Defense Fund ●      World Wildlife Fund ●      EPA page on the 1990 Clean Air Act Amendment ●      Henry Rose Connect & Share: If you enjoy the podcast, would you please consider leaving a short review on Apple Podcasts/iTunes? Full Hour | In today's second hour, Dom leads off by offering even more developments after Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro condemned the usage of the death penalty, calling on lawmakers to consider banning it in the State. Then, Dom reveals a controversy that's broken out at the Jersey Shore, telling that an amusement operator has been banned from obtaining a license for ten years after investigators with the Legalized Games of Chance Control Commission determined that her company overinflated basketballs and teased false prizes, scamming customers out of their money. Then, Dom circles back to the death penalty news, playing back a clip from Josh Shapiro's press conference today in which the Governor said, after failing to explain to his son why we must kill somebody who's killed, he's gone back on his previous stance on the issue that helped win him the election. Then, Dom welcomes Nick Sortor, co-host of the Roundtable, a Twitter Spaces show found @NickSortor, back onto the Dom Giordano Program as he reports live from the scene of the controlled explosion of toxic chemicals at the train derailment in East Palestine, Ohio. Sortor reports that, since his appearance yesterday, both of Ohio's United States Senators and EPA officials have come to the scene, telling that he offered the EPA Administrator a glass of the tap water that residents were told was safe to drink until days ago. In 2020, then President-elect Joe Biden made history when he nominated North Carolina's Michael Regan as the first Black man in the spot of EPA Administrator. Recently, Tim spent time with Regan in Washington, D.C., and in his hometown of Goldsboro, North Carolina. It was there where Tim discovered Regan's years on a family farm had a major impact on his views and motivations in terms of the environment and climate change. His hometown also played a big role in his focus on environmental justice. Later, Regan talks to Tim about what it's like to work for a president, and if he would ever run for office himself.
