In this episode of our ARPDC Podcast - Literacy Across the Curriculum Series, we visit with Elyse Morin, one of our ARPDC team of Designers of Professional Learning and a seriously intense champion of reading and books in the classroom and at home. Elyse discusses some 15-plus titles for the Francophone or French Immersion classroom with Rick Gilson and Charlie Kraig - the conversation is in English. (for the most part;-)). Several books Elyse talks about are available in both French and English versions. One such example, Killer Underwear Invasion! or Alerte: Culottes Meurtriéres by Elise Gravel, has come up in a couple of episodes recently; the sub-title is timely for adults and younger children in today's world: "How to Spot Fake News, Disinformation & Conspiracy Theories." Spoiler Alert: Not everything called fake news is fake; not everything called news is news. Great books, how and why you might use them in the classroom is the focus of our conversation. The Rich Zeoli Show- Full Episode (03/07/2023): 3:05pm- On Monday night, Fox News host Tucker Carlson released never-before-seen footage from the January 6th riot at the U.S. Capitol. The footage revealed several instances in which the January 6 Commission lied, or withheld, relevant information to advance the left's preferred narratives. 40,000 hours of Capitol footage was provided to Carlson by Speaker of the House Kevin McCarthy (R-CA). 3:25pm- Among the storylines Tucker Carlson shed new light upon was that of Jacob Chansley aka the “QAnon Shaman”—who the media established as the face of January 6. However, thanks to new footage, it appears he was escorted around the Capitol by police officers and never acted violently. While he was undoubtedly in the wrong for entering the building, was his 4-year prison sentence justifiable when considering this new footage? Why wasn't this footage made available sooner? 3:45pm- Appearing with Alisyn Camerota, CNN Senior Media Reporter Oliver Darcy accused Tucker Carlson of attempting to “rewrite” history. Former Congressman Adam Kinzinger called Carlson a liar and claimed the January 6 Committee conducted “one of the most transparent hearings in history.” 4:10pm- While speaking on the Senate floor on Tuesday, Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) called on Fox News owner Rupert Murdoch to silence Tucker Carlson, preventing him from airing anymore never-before-seen January 6 footage. Should a United States Senator ever call for media censorship—even if he disagrees with the message? 4:20pm- Matt says Rich's impersonation of Senator Majority Leader Chuck Schumer sounds almost exactly the same as his impersonation of Mama Zeoli…Does anyone else agree? 4:30pm- Zeoli speaks to listeners who react to the January 6 revelations from Monday night's Tucker Carlson broadcast. 4:40pm- In Tuesday's edition of The Philadelphia Inquirer, the newspaper documents WHYY's decision to unjustly fire Jad Sleiman—a reporter who worked for the publicly-funded station's science show, “The Pulse.” Sleiman, a Marine veteran, is also a standup comedian. According to Sleiman, he was fired for “violating WHYY values” with material featured in his stand-up routine, which was completely unrelated to his work at WHYY. He joins The Rich Zeoli Show to discuss his “cancellation.” You can follow him on Instagram at: https://www.instagram.com/jadslay/?hl=en 5:00pm- The Drive at 5: A major announcement! The 6th Annual 1210 WPHT Radiothon to Benefit the Travis Manion Foundation will be held on March 24th. All the money raised will go directly towards empowering veterans and the families of fallen heroes. 5:15pm- On Sunday, far-left activists attacked an Atlanta Police Department—even using Molotov cocktails. According to a report from NewsBusters, CBS Mornings has, thus far, “refused” to cover the story. Meanwhile ABC and NBC omitted that the rioters were “left-wing.” 5:20pm- Appearing on Fox News, Senator Rand Paul (R-KY) stated that the reason Dr. Anthony Fauci quickly dismissed a laboratory leak being the cause of the COVID-19 pandemic, was because Dr. Fauci has some degree of “culpability” for providing Wuhan, China gain-of-function researchers with funding. 5:40pm- Former President Donald Trump reacted to Tucker Carlson's January 6 revelations—congratulating Carlson for “one of the biggest ‘scoops'…in US history.” 6:00pm- For weeks, the national media has tethered Governor Ron DeSantis to legislation proposed by the Florida State Senate which, is passed, would require bloggers to register with the state. However, on Tuesday, Gov. DeSantis said he has never supported the bill, nor would he ever support it. Will the media retract their previous claims? 6:10pm- According to Ben Zeisloft of The Daily Wire, “British Health Minister Matt Hancock wanted to ‘frighten the pants' off the nation to scare residents into compliance with a sweeping COVID lockdown regime, according to more than 100,000 leaked messages among senior officials in the United Kingdom”—ultimately, choosing what time would be most convenient to “deploy” the promotion of a new variant. You can read the article here: https://www.dailywire.com/news/british-lockdown-official-wanted-to-frighten-the-pants-off-nation-and-asked-when-to-deploy-the-new-variant-leaked-messages-show 6:30pm- Where does “woke” come from? 6:50pm- Rich is sick—how long can he go without coughing uncontrollably? Spoiler Alert: Not long.

We moved to a new state the week COVID shut down the world. SPOILER ALERT: Not a great time to build community or new friendships. We lived in a new neighborhood bustling with new families, but I didn't really feel connected to anyone. It seemed as if everyone had their own group, and no one had kids our age so it didn't automatically match up. But what I learned is if I really wanted community I needed to ask for it. So I did…. (28:20) Do you find Dad Bod's attractive? Anna doesn't but if you can convince her otherwise, you could win a $200 Home Depot gift card! Today, Anna decided to speak to an expert, Anthropology Professor Richard Bribiescas, to get his take on the subject! (31:55) Derek believes that his fiancée Keisha is not faithful when she stays out all night "with her girlfriends". Keisha says that if he trusts her, this is a non-issue, sometimes it's just late and she crashes. When asked why she goes out if she knows it bothers him so much, she says she's allowed to have her freedom too. Would it bother you if your significant other slept out on "friends night out"? (35:54) Jennifer thinks she's got what it takes to beat Raven in pop culture trivia! Can she succeed and win the $800 jackpot? (45:01)

For almost as long as there have been new cultural phenomena created by a hit film, there have been less talented people wishing to cash in on said phenomenon to make money fast, and quality of the actual film be damned! We wrap up the end of the season, discussing Duke's short-lived NCAA tournament run, who's leaving the program, who's staying, and figure out how to feel about it all (SPOILER ALERT: Not 100% Terrific). We may be closing out this Duke basketball season, but due to somewhat popular demand, we will be back next season and throughout this offseason.

On this episode, Kyo and T-Hat count down their favorite "guilty pleasures." We put that in quotes because there's a case for any Eurovision entry to be a guilty pleasure. Plus we take a look at the infamous four way tie in 1969, and a little bit of how the scoring changed after to try and prevent that again. Finally, we open the lid of the garbage can we'd like to call, "Eurovision's Worst Losers."
