At the height of his ministry, he felt empty. Dr. Stephen Marshall is pastor of Living Room Church and author of Live Life Strong: Unlocking the Power God Has For Your Life. Stephen grew up with an alcoholic father who left when he was seven. But he rose up out of poverty and sickness to do things he never thought possible – traveling and singing for Jesus. It was there, at the height of his ministry – doing great things for God - that he felt empty and weak to the point that he had suicidal thoughts. In a world where challenges and uncertainties abound, the pursuit of a life filled with strength is not just a desire but a necessity. Stephen says, “When God’s Word gains access to your life, your destiny aligns with His great plans for you.” Your life matters! Unlock the power God has for your life through this conversation with Stephen and in the pages of Live Life Strong. Also in this podcast.... The spirit brother of Lucifer, the archangel Michael, one among many gods, one of many ways to God. There are a LOT of beliefs about who Jesus is. Perry shares a mountaintop moment in life when the Spirit revealed to him who Jesus really is. In Judas’ worst moment of his life, Jesus called him “friend”. While we were still sinners Christ died for us! Even in our worst moments Jesus befriends us. What a friend we have in Jesus!Donate to Moody Radio: http://moodyradio.org/donateto/morningshow/wgnbSee omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
Greg begins the hour talking about the growth of sports betting since 2018 and the dangers for not only individuals but for the overall trustworthiness of sports competition itself caused by betting scandals. He then questions why sports betting corporate interest would spend so much money trying to legalize an activity that many say is already happening in epidemic proportions and in need of regulation. Greg then highlights a new study about why people cannot remember being a baby.Greg visits with Dr. Stephen Marshall about his book Live Life Strong and Living Room Church. The idea of OI as opposed to AI is discussed.

More universities have reverted back to testing students with pen and paper exams because of the difficulty securing digital exams from cheats. Since the Covid-19 pandemic, more university courses have relied on virtual exams - allowing students to bypass protections and cheat their way into better marks. Professor Stephen Marshall, the director of Victoria University's Centre for Academic Development, says they've caught a number of students cheating in digital exams - but the metrics are difficult to track. "It's actually very difficult to really nail down exactly what might be happening in a remote environment or on a remote device. We haven't actually, to my knowledge, pursued many formal cases, if any." LISTEN ABOVESee omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

We're currently taking a break for some summer travel. We'll be back with new episodes starting on July 19, 2023. This episode originally aired on January 25, 2023. Merriam-Webster defines story as: 1) an account of incidents or events and 2) a statement regarding the facts pertinent to a situation in question. Storytelling is a very powerful part of the human experience and a key tool used throughout human history. It provides a level of familiarity and when done well, it conveys information in a way that resonates with all involved. During a recent episode, guest Stephen Marshall said “Story is the glue for new facts and information.” How does story apply to brands? What does effective storytelling do for a brand? How can brands ensure they are authentic? On this week's episode of the 33 Tangents Podcast, Jim and Jason are joined by two special guests to discuss brands and storytelling. The first is returning guest Stephen Marshall, the CMO of the East Tennessee State University's Research Corporation whose purpose is building academic/industry partnerships. The second is first time guest Chase Friedman of Vanquish Media Group. Chase Friedman is the Founder & CEO of Vanquish Media Group, a digital marketing collective specializing in brand strategy, development, and marketing for entertainment for brands and storytellers. VMG has managed more than 100 brand, film and television, and integrated digital campaigns across multiple distribution windows and platforms. Stephen Marshall, Ph.D. is an award-winning media professor, (digital) marketer/brand consultant, and higher education administrator. Stephen's consulting brand portfolio includes work for Siren Marine/Yamaha, Adobe, Nielsen, Coca-Cola, Texas Pete, BoxDrop, Tennessee Hills Distillery, and various other for-profits and nonprofits. This week's episode of True Crime New England involves a case of a double murder with a side of some moral gray areas mixed in. Katie and Liz tell the story of the troubled and angsty Stephen Marshall, who grew up moving around the country and even to Canada, all while expressing his hatred for governmental structure and women. In April of 2006, Stephen decided to take justice into his own hands and become a vigilante killer, writing down the addresses of 29 sex offenders from the Maine State Sex Offender Registry. From here, he tracked down two men and shot them execution style, before fleeing on a bus to Boston. When the police showed up to arrest Stephen, he killed himself and took the answers to his heinous crimes with him. --- Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/truecrimene/support

While the English Book of Common Prayer had early use in Scotland, it is a fixed liturgy, providing a range of fixed prayers and detailed tables of fixed lessons. It is therefore not easy to compare it with the Directory. However, the Directory does very much follow the Book of Common Order used in Scotland from 1564, which derived from Knox's Forme of Prayers used in the English Congregation in Geneva. This book affords discretion in the wording of the prayers and no fixed lectionary.--The Directory was produced by a parliamentary subcommittee among the Westminster divines. The chair of the subcommittee was Stephen Marshall. Other members included Thomas Young, Herbert Palmer, and Charles Herle. Representing the Independents were Philip Nye and Thomas Goodwin, and representing the Scottish Presbyterians were Alexander Henderson, Robert Baillie, George Gillespie, and Samuel Rutherford. The text appears to be in the style of Nye's writing. from the wiki article

Worry can be one of life's biggest hurdles. It's something we all do, some more than others. Today on The Biscuit we speak to a guy who specialises in turning worriers into warriors, Stephen Marshall.Stephen is an ex military man who came out of the forces without the preparation he needed for civilian life. This amongst many other factors gave Stephen the motivation to starting a coaching company that can help others to always be prepared. This is a different approach to coaching than we've seen recently on The Biscuit but that's not to say it isn't effective. Some people need that assertive approach, for whatever reasons it works for a lot of people. Although Stephen is a sincere, understanding and humble guy he strives to get people to where they want to be.This is Stephen's story.Ft comments read from listeners from Facebook.

Also discussed at the cases of Patrick Drum and Cain Velasquez, who decided to take this same path. We also touch on YouTube's censorship of channels who make it a point to expose predators, and the challenges faced by creators in this genre. It is a fascinating account of Lincoln's vision and leadership. This vision inspired future presidents and offers important lessons for lawmakers and citizens alike in our current times. Guest John Avlon John Avlon is an author, columnist and commentator. He is a senior political analyst and fill-in anchor at CNN, appearing on New Day every morning. From 2013 to 2018, he was the editor-in-chief and managing director of The Daily Beast, during which time the site's traffic more than doubled to over one million readers a day while winning 17 journalism awards. Avlon served as chief speechwriter to New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani and won the National Society of Newspaper Columnists award for best online column in 2012. After the attacks of September 11th, 2001, he and his team were responsible for writing the eulogies for all firefighters and police officers murdered in the destruction of the World Trade Center. Avlon's essay on the attacks, “The Resilient City” concluded the anthology Empire City: New York through the Centuries and won acclaim as “the single best essay written in the wake of 9/11.” His first book, Independent Nation: How Centrists Can Change American Politics was described by Barron's as “a rewarding portrait of a political trend the established parties have tried to ignore” and hailed by TheModerateVoice.com as “the best political book ever on American centrist voters.” Wingnuts: How The Lunatic Fringe is Hijacking America was praised by President Bill Clinton, who said “Wingnuts offers a clear and comprehensive review of the forces on the outer edges of the political spectrum that shape and distort our political debate. Shedding more heat than light they drive frustrated alienated citizens away from the reasoned discourse that can produce real solutions to our problems.” The two Deadline Artists anthologies, which Avlon co-edited with Jesse Angelo and Errol Louis won acclaim from the Washington Post as “one of the greatest collections of newspaper articles ever compiled” while the American Journalism Review described it as “the most addictive journalism book ever.” Avlon has appeared on The Daily Show, Late Show with Stephen Colbert, CNN, Real Time with Bill Maher, PBS, and C-Span. He has spoken at the Kennedy School of Government, the Citadel, the State Department's visiting journalist program, and civic organizations around the nation.
