Support the show: https://krant.nlSee omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
FC Twente overleeft in Zweden. Message from Tim Hartman on June 25, 2023
Earlier this month, Tim Hartman, CEO of GovExec, and I took the stage at Omeda's Idea Exchange to do a live recording of the podcast. This is the outcome of that conversation. We talked about what it was like closing on the GovExec deal only days after the Covid-19 lockdowns had taken place. We also talked about how the company has acquired and integrated various other companies. Finally, we dug into the different aspects of GovExec's business model.
Kwame Bediako was one of the great African theologians of his generation. Challenging the assumption that Christianity is a Western religion, he presented a non-Western foundation for theological reflection, expanded the Christian theological imagination, and offered a path forward for post-Christendom theologies. Kwame Bediako: African Theology for a World Christianity (Langham Publishing, 2022) is the first full-length introduction to Bediako's theology. It engages Bediako's central concerns with identity – specifically what it means to be African and Christian in the aftermath of the failures of colonialism – the relationship of theology and culture, and the need of indigenous expressions of Christian faith for the health of theological reflection worldwide. Challenging stereotypical perceptions of African Christianity and pressing readers to interrogate their own theological convictions in light of cultural and societal presuppositions, this book examines the gift of Bediako's work not just for Africa but for the world. Byung Ho Choi is a Ph.D. student in the Department of History & Ecumenics, focusing on World Christianity and history of religions at Princeton Theological Seminary. His research interest lies in Indonesia and the Muslim dominant regions of Southeast Asia, from the postcolonial approach to Christianity and the coexistence of various religions, including the study of Christianity and the Islamic faith in a Muslim dominant society that includes challenges of ethnic diversity. AI projects might have started small, but today there's no doubt that they're picking up speed across the public sector. So, how is government adoption accelerating, why are big, transformational projects becoming the norm and why should agencies continue to invest? Those are the questions we'll be looking to answer in the final episode of The AI Tipping Point — a podcast by Government Executive Media Group in partnership with WWT, NetApp and NVIDIA that looks to answer the question: “If 2019 was the ‘tipping point' for AI, what's 2020?” On our final episode, host Tim Hartman, CEO of Government Executive Media Group, speaks with Anthony Robbins, the Vice President of Federal at NVIDIA; Kirk Kern, Chief Technology Officer at NetApp and Bryan Thomas, Senior Vice President of Public Sector at World Wide Technology to drill into the big picture of government AI.

The federal workforce is evolving. Employees who work for Uncle Sam are tech savvier than ever before and have more tools at their disposal to be more efficient. Thanks to artificial intelligence and machine learning, it might not be too long before AI coupled with humans become the norm in the workplace, helping make predictive and better analysis and decisions. But there is some hesitation. Opponents fear AI will replace humans in almost every role. Undoubtedly, if humans aren't about to be replaced skillsets will need to change to keep up with the technology at hand. Ultimately, AI can't do it alone, it will always need human components in order to make the tech successful. Learn more about how humans and machines make the ultimate pair in this episode of “MachineKind,” a new podcast from Government Executive in collaboration with Nvidia, Dell and GAI, dedicated to exploring the art of the possible in artificial intelligence. In this episode, host Tim Hartman, CEO of the Government Executive Media Group, speaks with Suzette Kent, the federal chief information officer, and Anthony Robbins, the vice president of federal at Nvidia, about navigating the way forward.

Life was looking good, until the rug was pulled from under him when he got blindsided by a linebacker while rolling out for a pass. He basically had his head go past his legs due to a hyperflexion. Dr. Tim was able to finish the game, but the next morning, his life changed forever. In May of 2001, I launched a martial arts community with a focus on respectful discussion and a generally family friendly atmosphere. The very next month, Bob Hubbard did the exact same thing. From an outward perspective, you might label us competitors and expect us to dislike each other. But we developed a friendship based upon mutual respect, which allowed us to compare notes and share knowledge around common challenges. On this episode, we discuss the benefits of being friendly with those managing “competing” communities. Plus: Community “brigading,” or coordinated attacks meant to disrupt an online community The threats that we received running communities where, more often than not, the members have been taught a form of physical combat How Bob approached selling his forum Big Quotes “If you make people choose, they won’t choose you. That’s always been my thought process. For instance, with my moderators and staff members, there’s no loyalty pledge – to borrow a phrase that’s really out there right now thanks to our president. There’s no loyalty pledge for joining my staff as a moderator.” -@patrickokeefe “I always tried to put MartialTalk on the mindset of you’ve just had a really good seminar, now you’re in the lobby of the school. You’re putting your gear away, and you’re shooting the breeze with everybody about what went on and what you’re going to do next. As opposed to some forums that had the attitude of no chit chat, just keep it on right on topic. You couldn’t deviate.” -Bob Hubbard “My own instructor got suspended [from my community] once or twice. It’s like, ‘Just because he’s the guy holding a belt rank in front of me doesn’t mean we’re going to give him a pass on behavior.'” -Bob Hubbard About Bob Hubbard Bob Hubbard is a photographer in Buffalo, New York. A native of Western New York, he speaks fluent chicken wing, beef on weck and sponge candy. He has a background is game development, programming and BBSs. "Martial arts develops character. Martial sports reveals character." Welcome to episode 102 of Martial Arts Radio, where today we get to hear from Datu Tim Hartman. Datu Hartman is a living legend in the world of Filipino martial arts and has offered numerous seminars across the globe. As a lifelong practitioner of Filipino arts, Datu Hartman has watched the growth of the various disciplines, including arnis, escrima, kali and the various approaches and styles to these arts. We hear about the man's past, what keeps him inspired to train and why he's still so passionate not only about martial arts, but about passing on what he's learned to newer students. Today's featured whistlekick product line is our suggestion. They're available in zip-up and pull-over, in quite a few colors and sizes. What do they have in common? Style, comfort and quality, just like everything we make. For full show notes, including links, photos and video, please visit: http://www.whistlekickmartialartsradio.com/102-tim-hartman/
