Skipping across the country in a desperate attempt to stay one step ahead of the authorities, Peter is quickly realizing that he's a psionically-charged "harbinger" with the potential to reshape the course of human history. But Peter's plight has not gone unnoticed. Respected philanthropist and fellow harbinger, Toyo Harada, is about to offer Peter the chance at the things for which the boy has always longed ― family, inner peace, self-control ― and induct him into the sprawling, secret network of conspiracy and subversion known as the Harbinger Foundation. Now, Peter begins his long road towards a destiny that will shake the very foundations of the Valiant Universe. His first lesson? All power comes with a price! Collecting the first five issues of the critically acclaimed series by New York Times best-selling author Joshua Dysart (Unknown Soldier), acclaimed artists Khari Evans (Carbon Grey) and Lewis Larosa (PunisherMAX), this is the perfect place to catch up with the series that Comic Book Resources calls "superheroes at its best." "The government has dispatched Amanda McKee – the technopath codenamed Livewire – to investigate the ruins of a secret facility formerly run by Toyo Harada, the most powerful telepath on Earth and her former mentor. In his quest for world betterment at any cost, Harada sought out and activated many potential psiots like himself. Those who survived, but whose powers he deemed to have no value to his cause, were hidden away at this installation. But Livewire, having studied Harada’s greatest strengths and learned his deepest weaknesses, senses opportunity where he once saw failure. A young girl who can talk to birds… A boy who can make inanimate objects gently glow… To others, these are expensive disappointments. But, to Livewire, they are secret weapons…in need of a leader. Now, as a mechanized killer called Rex-O seeks to draw them out, Livewire and her new team of cadets will be forced to put their powers into action…in ways they never could have imagined…" Merch: https://www.zazzle.com/focpodcast Be Sure to Follow us on Social Media Twitter: @FOC_Podcast Facebook: FOCPodcast Instagram: @FOC_Podcast Email: focpodcast@gmail.com Music: Aural Bandito And remember to drink responsibly --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/fortress-of-comictude/support

WCA 2019: In Conversation with Joshua Dysart (recorded at WonderCon Anaheim, 30th March 2019) Comic-Con International's sibling convention, WonderCon, has over the years grown and developed into a truly epic event in the North America comic convention calendar, selling out over its entire weekend and bringing thousands of talented creators, publishers, artists, writers, cosplayers, actors and actresses and much more to Anaheim in California. WonderCon has developed and evolved from what was primarily a passive 'experience' delivering show into one which companies and creators can now bring new projects and share updates on brand new content - we have been lucky to have a couple of correspondents visiting the show as Press, catching up with a number of these fresh stories. One such correspondent is Dan Berry (@fatj00) who met up this weekend with esteemed and prolific, award-winning and best-selling comic book writer Joshua Dysart, someone who has had quite the career to date - and still it just keeps growing from strength to strength! He's currently working on TOYO HARADA for Valiant Entertainment, as well as GOODNIGHT PARADISE for fresh new publisher TKO Studios... and it seems that there's a lot more to come down the line. Here, in conversation with Dan, he talks about his current projects and teases about a couple of future books that have most certainly been a long time in the making... Thanks to Joshua for taking time out of his very busy con to talk, and also to Dan Berry for bring the interview to us. Intro Music: 'Punky', bensound.com

Human settlements are ringed by a dense wilderness from which ferocious new animal species prey on the helpless. The high ground belongs to the rich and powerful that overlook swampland shantytowns from their fortress-like cities. Iron-fisted rule ensures order and allows the wealthy to harvest the poor as slaves. Delve into the first chapter of Orchid, the tale of a teenage prostitute who learns that she is more than the role society has imposed upon her, from the mind of musician Tom Morello (Rage Against the Machine, Audioslave, The Nightwatchman). Jim Shooter chronicled the psionic tug-of-war between Peter "Sting" Stanchek and the enigmatic Toyo Harada for over 40 issues in the early 90s. Nearly 20 years later, Valiant Entertainment is back, and with it, an all new interpretation of Harbinger. We spoke to series writer Joshua Dysart about his new vision for the iconic struggle between two impossibly powerful men equipped with the full range of telekinetic abilities. In each new issue of the "Renegade" arc, starting with this week's Harbinger #6, latent fans will meet Peter's allies in the war against Harada's ubiquitous corporation and its legion of psionic warriors. We'll also see the Valiant universe as its never been seen before, rendered by a new artist each chapter. And, geez, what a sensational list of artists it is. Things are about to get mental. Writer: Joshua Dysart Penciler: Phil Briones Cover Artist: Mico Suayan, Matthew Clark $3.99/32 pages ALL-NEW ARC! From out of the ashes – RENEGADES! After a crushing defeat at the hands of his would-be mentor, Peter Stanchek lies critically wounded and the only person who can save him is the person that hates him the most – his childhood love Kris Hathaway. As Harada's Eggbreaker strike force closes in, the helpless Peter wonders if he is going to find forgiveness at Kris's door – or unbridled vengeance. But when Faith returns as the superhero she's always dreamed of being, the game is going to change for everyone involved… Music: "The Hive" Deus Ex: Human Revolution (Original Soundtrack) Michael McCann
