TECH CLUBBERS PODCAST W/ DAHRAXT DAHRAXT is the techno project of the electronic music artist Alessandro Mannella ( formerly known as Mannella ). Italian-born and Berlin-adopted, he expresses his multi-faceted talent producing music, DJing and performing live. Apart from being heavily influenced by the UK techno sound, DAHRAXT's musical narratives oscillate between industrial techno and distorted electro soundscapes, all the way to the more mental techno textures. Moving at a young age to Ibiza, he crafted his DJ mixing skills performing regularly at important venues like Space and throwing illegal parties around the island. Not long after, he moved to Berlin and immediately caught the attention of many, playing at the iconic Tresor basement and shaking the dancefloors of other major clubs such as About Blank, Arena and Suicide Circus, as well as hosting events at the former Griessmühle. Eventually, as one of the founders of the multidisciplinary event project ENIGMA, he brought a brand-new event concept at Tresor Club. Besides Germany, DAHRAXT has made appearances at other influential venues across Europe such as Gare (Porto) and FOLD (London) among others. Touring overseas and taking part in the underground festival circuit, DAHRAXT has performed with the likes of Ancient Methods, Ben Klock, Detroit Techno Militia, Nene H, New Frames, Tommy Four Seven, Scan7, Sunil Sharpe and many more. His unmatched dexterity in bringing the crowd into his own visionary trip and the intensity of his DJ sets allowed him to also gain a residency at the techno party Vocoder in Mexico City (2018) and most recently at ARIA, London. As a long-time vinyl collector and supporter, in 2015 DAHRAXT founded two record labels: “Jtseries”, (a techno dancefloor-oriented imprint) and “PicNic34” (having a more experimental direction). On those, he has collaborated with Blawan, Cristian Vogel, Charlton, Kucera, Santiago Salazar, Tobias, Vladislav Delay and VSK to name a few. With an arsenal of music ready to hit some of the most important music platforms out there, DAHRAXT's ever mind-expanding DJ and studio experiments are bound to be experienced by many. *The Mix was live recorded at Tresor Berlin* Follow DAHRAXT here: Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/mannella.dahraxt Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/dahraxt/ Soundcloud: https://soundcloud.com/dahraxt

Und immer daran denken, sharing is caring!! Errorbeauty - Mix for Modulations Bulgarian born, London-Berlin based Errorbeauty has been meticulously piecing together her impressive catalog of releases since beginning Djing back in 2003. A professional flute musician by way of background, she gradually became drawn to electronic music's intricately textured soundscapes - more specifically the broken, aggressive shades of Detroit Electro. In 2012 she moved to London where she started her musical journey as a producer, meeting many artists whose music she's been collecting for ages, and rapidly appeared on the scene playing alongside Plaid, Mr Switch (4 times DMC World champion), Andrea Parker, ADJ, Bitstream, Flint Kids to name a few. Errorbeauty's work continues to evolve and offers listeners a distinct reflection of Motor City's relationship with the genre whilst demonstrating her own unique perspective of Electro, which brought her twice to the legendary Tresor Club for Berlin Atonal. Earlier this year she has performed at Berlin's underground well-respected event series Skizze in OHM as well as Bold, Exquisite Berlin and Disobedient Circumstance at Suicide Circus Berlin where she proudly became one of the residents in the club this year. Together with XOR12, she recently launched the new electro/techno record label Arkada Records. The first EP featuring T15DM and Errobeauty herself was released on July 15th this year. Chubby! on Facebook: www.facebook.com/chubbyrecords Mike Grant/Moods & Grooves on Facebook: goo.gl/IIyWhD @mikegrant50 http://www.big50entertainment.com/ At the end of the 1990s, Mike Grant re-emerged as one of the leading figures in Detroit’s growing house scene after spending the majority of the decade and late ‘80s pursuing other ambitions. When Grant’s fresh Moods & Grooves label began raising more than a few eyebrows with its catalog of releases by many of Detroit’s best house producers, few knew that he has been a key figure in the Motor City’s early to mid-‘80s electronic dance scene as a talented DJ. Grant is one of the few Detroit DJs who plays complete deep house/house or techno sets as well as a mixture. While traveling throughout Europe Grant earned the distinction as being the first American DJ to have a residency at Tresor Club in Berlin. Grant’s musical career began at an early age, influenced by Detroit’s fledging music scene and his uncle, the general manager at a local R&B/dance radio station, WKWM. By 1980, the young Grant had joined a DJ collective known as Men of Music while becoming close friends with schoolmate Blake Baxter. Baxter showed Grant the art of beat mixing while the two made mix tapes after school, and Grant eventually joined Baxter’s DJ group, The Beat Sound Company. A few years later in 1983, Grant was scoring club residencies in Detroit alongside legends such as Ken Collier and also managed to make appearances on The Scene, a video dance show on WGPR alongside even more local DJs such as Jeff Mills. During this mid-‘80s era, Grant’s reputation as one of the city’s top DJs led to eventual friendships and partnerships with many of that eras other top DJs, most notably Eddie Fowlkes, Derrick May, and Juan Atkins. During the summer of 1985, he became a member of Detroit’s first radio mix show, “Street Beat,” where the foundation for what would later become early Detroit techno was ultimately formed. Prior to the Street Beat show, Grant made a commitment to join the military not knowing what doors would eventually open. During this time in the military, he continued to DJ on the base and in Seattle, where he introduced the sounds of Detroit techno to the unsuspecting West Coast. Following his time in the military, Grant then studied telecommunications in Chicago and began his career in this same field, while occasionally returning to his hometown for the occasional performance. In the late ‘90s, Grant planned his return, beginning with a recording as Black Noise on Metroplex Records, titled “Nature of the Beast.” Rather than just DJ and produce tracks, he went to the lengths of starting his own label, Moods & Grooves, and began releasing the work of his peers as well as his own. By mid-2000, the label had received substantial acclaim – including a high-profile appearance by Grant at the landmark Detroit Electronic Music Festival. In 2001 Grant launched the techno based label End to End and urban sounding Afrosyntrix. Additionally, he’s remixed the Detroit classic “Sharevari,” been selected to perform at Midem’s Electronic Showcase, selected and participated in DEMF/Movement, and included in the “Techno – Detroit’s Gift To the World” exhibit at the Detroit Historical Museum.

The lights and darks, the atmosphere and sound. From then there was no way back. Over the years he played at several local and transregional clubs and organised together with friends his own local parties. After leaving his hometown he settled down in Berlin and started intensively working on his musical view and producer skills. The future plans grew and by launching ‘Crossing‘ end of 2013 he established his own platform for floor orientated puristique electronic music. Italian techno Dj and producer, Synthek evolves in Berlin under the wings of his own Natch Records and the residency at Tresor Club. Synthek moved the first steps in his hometown Naples, extending then to the London club scene, before settling in Berlin. Always seeking for new influences, over the past years his musical background had a constant growth, which can be seen through the evolution of his productions and sets, rich of deep rhythmics and powerful, introspective vibes. For the last two years he has made numerous outputs on various labels such as Edec Music, Limited or LC Series. Among his outings we can mention Aaron EP on Translucent Label, his last track “Coherence” for the second episode of D.A.N.C.E. on Attic Music Label and the 2 ep “Reclaim Your City” and “The Storm Abive Us, featured by great remix by Raffaele Attanasio, Mattias Fridell for the 004, and Zadig & Jearon Search for the 005, both on his imprint Natch Records. Moreover several of these releases are supported by many great artists. His first album “Unwise” released on Natch Records with Audiolouis, is a bold sequence of powerful tracks devotedly written for the dancefloor, but still keeps a certain emotional aspect made of few melodic Detroit rooted cuts, standing as a tribute to the author’s primary inspirations. The album has been remixed by some of the most relevant names of the techno scene like Antigone, Zadig, Tadeo, Polar Inertia to name a few. After the long collaboration with Audiolouis, he decided to focus on his solo project and, in the early 2015, launched a new imprint “STK” with the main purpose to release his own productions. Since January 2014, his residency at Tresor allowed him to take care of the New Faces Nights, monthly event focused on the young talents of the Techno scene. Always delivering strong and powerful set, Synthek is characterized by solid mixing skills sharpened through many years behind the desk.

K1971 PODCAST - DJ T-1000 aka Alan Oldham Alan Oldham has been called "Detroit Techno's Renaissance Man" (Musik, UK).A lifelong cartoonist and graphic designer, a young Oldham published his own comic book "Johnny Gambit" in 1987 to local notoriety. Hired that same year by his childhood friend Derrick May to illustrate several memorable pieces for the new Transmat label, this led to Oldham's first involvement in the fledgling techno scene. Besides his art and writing, 1987 also saw Oldham's radio debut on Detroit's WDET-FM with the long-running 'Fast Forward' program. Originally meant to be a free-form rock, jazz and fusion show, Oldham's passion for both local and international electronic music gradually took centerstage until it finally became the only radio program in Detroit to feature techno and house music exclusively. The early cassette, reel-to reel and four-track material of such (now) well-known international artists as Underground Resistance, Carl Craig, Kenny Larkin, Octave One, Anthony Shakir, and Richie Hawtin made its on-air debut here, as well as being the first and only show to break international acts like Moby, Joey Beltram, 808 State, LFO, Front 242, Nitzer Ebb, and others in Detroit. In 1988, Oldham graduated from Wayne State University with a degree in Radio-TV-Film. In 1990, having finally produced his own EP at a friend's studio, Oldham sold the project to a small Dutch label whose fax number he found in the record bins of Recordtime. His pseudonym for the four-track project was Signal to Noise Ratio released by the small Dutch label, DJAX Records. After the release of the EP, label boss Saskia "Miss DJAX" Slegers hired Oldham to create the graphic identity of DJAX-UP-BEATS. Ten years on, DJAX dominates the Dutch techno scene and Oldham's trademark visual style still defines the label. In 1992, Jeff Mills left Underground Resistance to become a solo act. "Mad" Mike Banks, needing an immediate replacement DJ for a month-long Austrailian live tour, tapped Oldham for the job. Without rehearsals, Oldham took the leap of faith that changed his life. Jump start into infamy. Leaving his increasingly-thankless WDET airshift behind forever and adopting the onstage personal of DJ T-1000 (taken from the shape-shifting liquid metal cyborg in "T2"), Oldham began rocking decks for UR and never looked back, setting the stage for subsequent UR "assault DJs"Rolando and James Pennington. Upon returning from UR's triumphant Austrailian tour, Banks again tapped Oldham's many talents, this time asking him to create a label to be distributed by a new company that Banks was organizing, a distributorship that would within a few years come to dominate the Detroit landscape: Submerge. Oldham agreed and his second and most successful attempt at a label, (the first was the disasterous Technika records 1989) would be called Generator. It was also during this time that Oldham once again became prolific, artwise. A fully-painted "Danger Girl" comic strip in Muzik UK and the album cover for Astralwerks "Beyond The Third Wave" (ASW6170) compilation marked 1995, as well as his debut retrospective at Detroit's Cement Space Gallery and a new "Miss DJAX" comic. With his solo career in full swing, however, it was time for his music to follow suit. Oldham established the Pure Sonik label in 1996 with the double-barreled, double-vinyl statement of intent "Pure Sonik Manifesto" (PURE1). This move garnered his first cover story in Magic Feet (UK), and a music video that aired on MTV UK's "Party Zone". Three years later, the label continues to feature Oldham's production talents as DJ T-1000, the best moments of which can be found on the CD/2x12", "A Pure Sonik Evening" (PURE10) . In 1998, Oldham began an alliance with legendary German techno label, Tresor when their label manager vacationing in Detroit, was blown away be his demo tracks. Signing him on the spot, the first product of that transatlantic union was "Jetset Lovelife EP" (Tresor87) and his debut performance at the Tresor club in Berlin. In between a solid year's worth of DJ dates both in the US and abroad, the release of his first-ever mix CD "Live Sabotage" (BML/X-Sight 6386), and many personal changes at home, Oldham delivered his debut album "Progress" (Tresor128). It was released in Europe in October 1999 and a world tour quickly launched, capped by an epic, four-and-a-half hour set at the Tresor Club, broadcast live over the internet. "Progress" was bracketed by the dual release of "Codes And Structures Vol 1" (PURE11) and "Vol 2" (PURE12) on his own Pure Sonik label. As the new millenium began, Oldham produced a second mix CD "The Last DJ On Earth" (PURE14) , launched 2 websites (both for label and his art), participated in DEMF 2003, released of another album "Neutra" (PURE17CD), and a return to artwork. After over a decade in the music business, DJ T-1000's job of World Sonik Domination is never done. Oldham in 2006 started his first-ever, low-tempo/experimental, CD-only label, "xfive." and presented its first release, "The Art of Transformation" (X5001CD) inspired by his art gallery openings in France, Los Angeles, Chicago, and Germany. Another "Art of Transformation" CD released in January 2008. In 2009, Oldham released an all new Johnny Gambit comic with accompanying original soundtrack with 2nd installment and soundtrack finished in March 2013, awaiting release.2012 saw the rise of the moniker, Detroitrocketscience (first appeared on xfive), and debut of label of same name with the release of a series of 10" records in 2012/2013.
