Some of the best health strategies are the most simple and basic; unfortunately, it's the simplicity that makes them easy to quickly overlook and undervalue. As much as I love reading the newest books and most up-to-date research to stay on the leading edge of wellness and longevity, I also believe that some of the most treasured information can be obtained from hidden gems from times of yore. Even some of the most prolific research on how light impacts our health originates from the 40s, 50s and 60s, thanks to John Ott (remember those solosodes, long-time listeners?!). Not to mention, some of the most reliable health and medical strategies were produced from our ancestors thousands of years ago via Traditional Chinese Medicine and Ayurvedic Medicine, to name a couple. The best techniques and approaches inevitably stand the test of time.Enter Charles Atlas, "The World's Most Perfectly Developed Man," who was a veritable biohacker way back in the early 1900s — multiple generations before the term came into use. And don't worry, this episode isn't about bodybuilding or necessarily about perfecting our physique. Rather, Charles Atlas created a program in the 1920s - 1940s that consists of a dozen separate lessons where each lesson goes over various health and wellness strategies; ranging from the mental, to the physical, to diet, to the importance of "building magnetism" and much more. In today's episode, I want to go over those approaches that I felt would be interesting and relevant to you all.Charles Atlas (born Angelo Siciliano; October 30, 1892 – December 24, 1972) was an Italian-American bodybuilder, entrepreneur, and fitness pioneer. He is best known for his mail-order fitness program and for being dubbed “The World's Most Perfectly Developed Man.” Atlas claimed he was inspired to change his body after seeing statues of Greek and Roman gods at the Brooklyn Museum. His fitness philosophy emphasized health, strength, and self-confidence. Atlas is considered a pioneer in promoting fitness to the general public and is often credited with sparking the modern fitness culture. He was an advocate for a healthy diet and a clean lifestyle. If you found the information in today's episode particularly interesting and/or compelling, please share it with a family member, friend, colleague and/or anyone that you think could benefit and be illuminated by this knowledge. Tony Howard provides insights on navigating astrological aspects in August 2024, including Mercury Retrograde, Jupiter square Saturn, and two prominent t-squares. Tony emphasizes the importance of slowing down and reflection during the first half of the Mercury retrograde cycle, and setting realistic limits to balance the energies of Jupiter and Saturn. You'll hear some positive intentions for Jupiter in Gemini as well as Mars conjunct Jupiter, in addition to some pitfalls to avoid. Hear how Sagittarius offers an antidote to overdoing Gemini. Learn how the Mars-Jupiter conjunction adds to the complexity of the t-square with Saturn and Venus. And how the additional t-square on August 19 gives us a lot to work with as certain dynamics come to light or fullness under the Full Moon. Get the declination highlights, including thoughts about working personally with the out of bounds Moon, Mercury contraparallel Saturn, and the strong aspect that closes out the month with Venus opposite Neptune and Venus contraparallel Neptune at the same time. The forecast concludes by highlighting a positive date on August 25, when the moon in Taurus trines Venus, offering a soft landing for projects that involve endings or closure.Learn more about Aspect patterns like the t-square:https://www.astrologyuniversity.com/shop/courses/aspect-patterns-course/August 2024 Astrology Forecast with All Dates:https://www.astrologyuniversity.com/astrology-forecast-august-2024/Register for the Astrologer Diploma Program with our annual discount offer (July 30 through August 24): https://www.astrologyuniversity.com/program/

The episode begins with the panelists - Jörn, Louise, Jeff McIntyre of GLI and Roger - discussing one thing each found particularly striking at the recent Paris NASH meeting. Most comments centered around three themes:1. A general appreciation of the quality and diversity of talks at Paris NASH.2. Disappointment with the regulatory response from Frank Anania of FDA on the question of moving beyond biopsy and changing the shape of conditional drug approvals.3. The “dynamic tension” between forces pushing for rapid progress vs. forces slowing pace of development. The group further considers the influence of providers, manufacturers and patients versus that of regulators and payers. Jeff and Roger agree that payers are likely to present the last- and likely highest- barrier to rapid progress on prescription medicines and testing.

Mike Hill joins for me for a multi-episode exploration of the masterful book “Lila: An Inquiry Into Morals” written by best-selling author Robert Pirsig. This book may be one of the most undervalued ever written, as it proposes an alternative interpretation of reality that Pirsig calls “The Metaphysics of Quality” (MOQ). According to MOQ, reality is not made up of substance, but rather it is composed of distinct patterns of value. In a Copernican-like revolution of perspective, MOQ sheds new light on age-old debates such as moral relativism, the nature of subject-object duality, good vs. evil, science vs. religion, the importance of freedom, and the primacy of action.Be sure to check out NYDIG, one of the most important companies in Bitcoin: https://nydig.com/GUESTMike's Website: https://www.mikehill.design/PODCASTPodcast Website: https://whatismoneypodcast.com/Apple Podcast: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/the-what-is-money-show/id1541404400Spotify: https://open.spotify.com/show/25LPvm8EewBGyfQQ1abIsE?si=wgVuY16XR0io4NLNo0A11A&nd=1RSS Feed: https://feeds.simplecast.com/MLdpYXYITranscript:OUTLINE00:00:00 “What is Money?” Intro00:00:08 A Purpose of Evil is to Test the Integrity of the Good00:06:09 Christ on the Cross as Emblematic of the Dynamic Tension of Being Human00:07:37 Society Frees Individuals from the Biological Chains of Necessity00:10:28 The Dynamic Tension Between The Individual and Society00:14:35 Authoritarian Government as a Wolf in Sheep's Clothing00:16:54 Evaluating the Sovereign Individual through the Lens of MoQ00:19:55 “Every Consciousness is a Center of the Universe”00:22:16 A High Quality Socioeconomic System Assimilates a Maximal Quantity of Perspectives00:25:25 A Human Being is a Collection of Ideas…00:27:07 NYDIG00:28:15 The Dynamic Tension Between the Biological and Social Layers00:32:30 The Role of Totalitarianism in the Bootstrapping of Societies00:36:22 Conditions of Oppression as a Precursor to Liberation00:39:09 Nietzsche's Three Metamorphoses: The Camel, The Lion, and The Child00:43:17 “The Moral Equivalent of War” and Life as Disobedience to Gravity00:46:35 The Dynamic Tension Between Central Banking and Bitcoin00:51:57 What Happens after The Lion Becomes The Child?00:53:31 “What is Money?” OutroSOCIALBreedlove Twitter: https://twitter.com/Breedlove22WiM? In this episode of Progressively Incorrect, Zach Groshell and Bradley Arnold discuss "The Dynamic Tension at the Core of the Grammar of Schooling" by David F. Labaree (@DLabaree). The discussion has us both acknowledging that organizational needs - i.e., what is doable - often prevent large-scale changes to the "grammar of schooling", such as age-graded classrooms, teacher-centered instruction, and a decentralized curriculum.

@norman-nodge has been a resident DJ at Berghain since 2005. Being a life-long music lover, DJ and promoter of his own parties during the 90s, Norman achieved his current status as Berlin's secret weapon for serious techno. Born in East German Leipzig, raised in Brandenburg, Norman got bitten by the techno bug after the wall came down. In 1994 he started to promote several events and launched his career as a DJ. At these parties, he got to know @marcel-fengler and @marceldettmann and literally became their mentor for all things techno. At the end of the 90s, Nodge backed out of the local nightlife in order to focus on becoming a lawyer and starting a family. Five years ago, Marcel Dettmann pitched him to @berghain management and he returned to DJing and became a resident instantaneously. Since then, he plays Berghain once a month, specialising in the almost forgotten art of warming up at the beginning of a night. In 2005 he also started to produce his own tracks. His maturity proved to be very beneficial in terms of his artistic vision, as he made up his mind about what he likes and what not a long time ago already. Unsurprisingly, his outings on Dettmann's @mdrofficial label, as well as his track “Native Rhythm Electric” for @ostgutton-official left a deep impression with headstrong techno lovers. With his dusty funk, static hiss and the rich thump of his kick drums, he managed to get himself recognised as one of techno's more unique auteurs. Norman Nodge cites Detroit techno (@axis-jeff-mills, @roberthood, 430 West), Chicago House (@reliefrecords, Dance Mania) and Techno (@luke-slater, Peacefrog, Mark Broom - @beardman) as his most essential influences. Hence, it is not surprising that he fuses the old with the new and the soft with the tough when he plays out. “It is my goal as a DJ to make people dance without walking on trodden paths of recent trends. I want to sensitize dancers for unusual sounds, old and new.” Stay Rave with #R13! Tracklist: 01 K. Hey everybody... it's Pete. Jerry Campbell is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. He's been doing the work since 1975. In those early years, he worked in an agency, supervising therapists serving as head of therapy, a road that eventually lead to private practice in 1988. Judging by his reviews online, it's no question how Jerry has developed a reputation as a therapist's therapist. He joins Dodge today to talk about his approach. As he says it, it's "an integration of mind, body, and spirit modalities within a family systems framework. I like to say I work with people navigating their own hero's journey, get more of what they want, and have a transformational experience." Around these parts, anyone who trucks out Joseph Campbell is aces from the jump. They take on learning and fear this week, with a provocative dance with our friend the amygdala. Key in on the three F's — Find, Focus, and Follow. It might just turn out that this trio is a powerful set of F-words you can really set your mind by. Thanks for doing the work, Pete

The Kingdom: Temporal and Spiritual Realities in Dynamic Tension Biblical Life TV | UTK74 The Laodicean nature of the Church in the Western world has caused the Body of Messiah to lose sight of the Kingdom. There is a dynamic tension of the Kingdom within and Mystery Babylon without that the Church must understand and deal with. Until this is accomplished within the Westernized Church, we will not be able to move in Kingdom power as revealed in the New Testament. There is a paradigm adjustment coming to Remnant that will result in an end-time explosion of Kingdom power! Dr. Michael Lake is the Senior Pastor of Biblical Life Assembly, the Chancellor and Founder of Biblical Life College and Seminary, and is the author of the best-selling books, The Shinar Directive: Preparing the Way for the Son of Perdition, and The Sheeriyth Imperative: Empowering the Remnant to Overcome the Gates of Hell. Dr. Lake is a popular speaker at national Christian conferences and is a frequent guest on many Christian TV and radio/podcast programs in North America.

Ryan Davis used the old Charles Atlas terminology "Dynamic Tension" to challenge us on how to grow as believers and as the Church( the Body of Christ). "The more I worked through it, the more I felt led to dig into how we can learn to use the tension of living in a critical, cynical world, to help you and I personally grow closer to Jesus, and corporately as the body of Christ together to move towards being an ever brighter burning light to a broken and hurting world."

The next guest on the series doesn't need much introduction as he's been delivering experimental, industrial techno by way of Osaka, Japan for several years now; please welcome aboard The Erratic Podcast, RYUJI TAKEUCHI. His sound is eclectic and rooted in the sounds of old school techno. Founder of his own imprint LSN (Local Sound Network) and co-founder of HueHelix, he has released a plethora of his own works across these two labels over the last decade. Deep, potent, and extremely cerebral, the best way to consume Ryuji's unique take on techno is to do so slowly and on the rocks. Sit back and enjoy the next 90-minue ride full of exquisite Techno. www.ryujitakeuchi.com www.facebook.com/ryujitakeuchiofficial www.residentadvisor.net/dj/RyujiTakeuchi TRACKLIST 01. Born and raised in Potsdam, a town at the gates of Berlin he got in contact with the local Techno scene in the mid 90ies. After his first visit at the famous (old) TRESOR Club he got infected with the Techno virus. Soon he started to buy records at the well known HARD WAX record store which influences his taste in music until today. Being a DJ, he got the chance to present his version of raw and pure Techno sound to the crowd in Clubs like TRESOR, SUICIDE CIRCUS and SO36. Alongside ALEXANDER KOWALSKI he now produces club orientated Techno music on whose label DAMAGE MUSIC BERLIN and others. Mario Berger is a Resident-DJ at TRESOR in Berlin. How do we honor our traditions and still keep our shamanic practices alive and potent? How do we walk that interface between traditional teachings and spirit driven innovation to discover how to rise to the call of what is needed today in an effective shamanic practice? Contemporary shamanic practitioners are a hugely diverse lot. And yet, we are all faced with the same challenge—the need to be effective in our work. Shaman and host, Christina Pratt, will discuss “Outlaw Shamanism,” a new weekend class she will be offering in September in Glastonbury, Somerset in the UK. The weekend is designed by Spirit for participants to explore the dynamic tensions in the life of a contemporary practitioner. The challenge in looking only to the past is getting lost in the forms and not recognizing the functions that made the rituals and ceremonies of the past effective. The challenge looking only to the present is practicing forms that no longer function, accepting simplistic “answers from spirit” because there are no standards, and ignoring the effect of communities that do not respect the cultivation and energy renewal necessary for shamanic practitioners to practice with heartfelt power and without burning out. In essence we must learn what to bend and what must be broken. For registration and information about Outlaw Shamanism contact: office@isleofavalonfoundation.com or www.isleofavalonfoundation.com or 01458 833933.
Hold a chicken in the air, stick a deckchair up your nose and crank your amp to eleven — because we've another white-hot selection for you from the one and only El Kano of London's Adverse Camber collective. This man's DJ mixes are always bang on point, and this delightful spread of grimey electronica and twitchy dubstep is no exception. If you missed the mix he recorded specially for the site last year, head here and fill your lugholes — and should you be in need of more, drag your arse over to his page on the Adverse Camber site. Being a bit of a Photoshop wizard, he's concocted some cool artwork for the mix too. Enjoy! Tracklisting: Ben Frost — Bleeding the Sacred Heart (Inventing Zero Records) Shackleton feat.
