The common parlance of the American Right contains quite a few novel adages these days. ‘Make America Great Again' is the main call to arms, and ‘Let's Go Brandon' expresses a pseudo-secret resistance to Joe Biden. Another, is a warning to fellow capitalists ‘Go Woke Go Broke'. Dylan Mulvaney's disastrous team-up with Bud Light is the exemplar of the rule, but then again, the socially progressive ice cream giant Ben & Jerry's has doubled its profits in the last ten years. This week on The KOKO Show we put all our shit aside and moved footy to the fore, breaking down all the round 4 action from both the Superb Rugby and Six Nations. The lads can't resist hooping and hollering at the hot throbbing product that is Super Rugby Pacific 2025, as they discuss a week of footy that was packed full of upstarts, uprisings and upsets. Within our new segment ‘KOKO's Top 5 Takeaways' the crew highlights how the Waratahs have found their fire, the Brumbies have built themselves a backbone and just how beautiful a weekend is when only one Kiwi team wins.Plus, these pheromone sodden phenoms take a little walk on the wild side as they unpack all the action from up north in the ‘Six Nations Summation', bringing light to the fearless French, interrogating the incompetent Irish and somewhat extinguishing the excitable English. Moreover, with only one round left in the greatest rugby competition in the world, the boys have a little look and spirited debate about who holds poll position heading into their final 80 minutes.Lastly, we are joined briefly by the Aussie breaker of English hearts and Waratahs young gun Mr Max Jorgensen (full interview on Thursday) for a little chinwag about his red hot form in Super Rugby and the guys get down and dirty as they immerse themselves in a Quiz. So, throw the kids on the ipad, leave everything in the sink, pop a couple xannies and melt into your well weathered lazy-boy, it's time for Kick Offs and Kick Ons. The All Blacks have knocked Ireland off the top of the podium, defeating the number 1 ranked team 23-13. 18 of the points were scored by first-five Damian McKenzie who kicked six penalty goals, Will Jordan scoring the final five with a crucial try. This was a good performance from the All Blacks to wrap the Rugby Championship. A performance that reassured us this All Blacks team has the raw materials to consistently challenge the top sides in the world. There are some tough test matches to come in November - England, Ireland and France in consecutive weeks - and we'll learn more about them when those matches roll around. But for now, it feels like things are trending in the right direction, There was more than enough there last night, on both sides of the ball, to feel better about the progress of this side than perhaps we have at other times during 2024. Wallace Sititi - exceptional last night from a bloke playing out of position in just his third test start. There was plenty of debate when he was chosen ahead of Hoskins Sotutu at the start of the All Blacks season, and I think we can safely say they got that one right. Will Jordan at fullback - he played there often for Razor's all-conquering Crusaders. Last night was his third straight start there for the All Blacks. The extra space he's got back there, the way he assesses the game in front of him, the way he runs and his elusiveness in broken play, which led to another try last night - there's no doubt he'll become our all-time leading test try-scorer. He's got 35 in 37 tests now, the record is Doug Howlett's 49. But his defensive work under the high ball was good too - the 15 jersey is his to lose now. I'm loving seeing Caleb Clarke get back to the form he showed when he first became an All Black in 2020. He's drifted in and out a bit in the time since, he had that brief dalliance with sevens of course - and he played just 5 test matches last year and only 2 starts, he played just 2 of the 7 games at the Rugby World Cup, and they were against Namibia and Uruguay. But in 2024, he's become the first-choice left wing. 2 more tries last night and a good all-round showing despite that slightly mysterious late yellow card. And to Tupou Vaa'i - who's played every game this year -7 of the 9 from the start. When Sam Whitelock and Brodie Retallick left, lock was a position where there didn't appear to be as much depth as we would have liked. Tupou Vaa'i has stepped up well and truly - and there's a very real contest between he and Patrick Tuipulotu to partner Scott Barrett in the second row. And just a word on the crowd - Wellington has been rightly criticised in recent times for not turning up for test matches. Well last night, they turned up to a sold-out Sky Stadium. And right across the weekend, there was a different kind of buzz around the city. It's what test rugby used to feel like here in the Capital, it's what it should feel like. May there be many more nights like that. LISTEN ABOVESee omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
Robertson verwag ʼn taai kragmeting.
Will Jordan's move to All Blacks fullback has been short lived. Jordan shifts back to the right wing for Saturday afternoon's Bledisloe Cup test in Sydney, with Beauden Barrett restored to fullback and Caleb Clarke on the left wing. It's the same back three that started in Johannesburg against the Springboks, before Barrett switched to the bench for Cape Town. Coach Scott Robertson says they believe it's best for this week with Clarke now fit again. Jordan told Mike Hosking that while Australia is not South Africa, they all know how important the Bledisloe Cup is, and losing that certainly provides plenty of fear. He said that it's about maintaining or even lifting their intensity from over in South Africa, and making sure they put Australia on the back foot from the start. All Blacks coach Scott Robertson has made some line-up changes ahead of this weekend's Bledisloe Cup opener in Sydney. Beauden Barrett returns to fullback, Will Jordan moves to the right wing, and Ethan de Groot and Caleb Clarke make their return after recovering from injuries. All Blacks prop Tyrel Lomax hopes the team can turn their luck around after the two recent defeats in Cape Town. He expressed his disappointment with how the last couple of games went for the team - especially towards the end. LISTEN ABOVESee omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

The SQ3 goes behind the producer boards with the incredibly talented and diverse producer, beatmaker, hooper and shoe collector E. Jones! Talking with the mind responsible for so many classic hip hop, r&b and instrumental joints was truly an honor and a pleasure! We enjoyed presenting him with his flowers. We had the pleasure of being joined by Mr. Al Pete, as we delved into E.Jones' basketball background, how the church played a huge part in his musical development, as well as how he caught the ears of hip hop legends. We also spent time discussing the inspiration for the Deadstock series, how to recover from “producer block”and the origin of “hurt niggas jammin'” LOL. This episode was recorded shortly after receiving the news about the Master Teacher Frankie Beverly. We took time to process the news collectively and dedicate this episode to his memory. This was a great conversation that we truly looked forward to and a must listen for everyone who wants to know more about E. That first half - Sam Cane called it a clinic afterwards, and that's a pretty good description. Everything the All Blacks did in that first 40 was pretty much perfect, and in fairly challenging conditions at times - it was pretty wet at kickoff. The rain did ease off for large parts of the game, but the execution of skills in those conditions was really impressive. To their immense credit, the Pumas regrouped at half-time and were much more competitive after the break - the second half score was 7-all, but the damage was done by an utterly brilliant first half. With TJ Perenara, it would appear rumours of his imminent demise have been somewhat exaggerated. He was tremendous last night - what a response to his challenging evening in Wellington. That run and pass for Will Jordan's first try was sublime. His awareness to see the opportunity down the blindside and the skill to execute it, I bet he slept well last night. Ethan Blackadder was absolutely terrific. 2 tackles, and he was still tackling in the 83rd minute at 42-10 ahead. It's the kind of workhorse performance that epitomises his approach to the game. There was also a huge shift from Ethan Blackadder. And it seems almost repetitive to mention Ardie Savea, but we have to. Just exceptional, yet again. The stats only tell some of the story, but here they are: 18 carries and five defenders beaten, another try - his 27th in tests - he's level now with Richie McCaw as our highest try-scoring test forward. He also gave the final pass for Caleb Clarke's try. And on the other side of the ball, 12 tackles and no missed tackles. Afterwards, he said he demanded physicality from his team through words and actions. "We'll lead and let the boys follow us." Imagine having Ardie Savea as the guy to follow. You'd run through brick walls and still be looking for the next one. LISTEN ABOVESee omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
Former captain Sam Cane has returned to the All Blacks in the way he played much of the early part of his test career - via the bench. Cane will back up the loose forwards in Saturday's rematch against Argentina from jersey 20 in his first test since last year's World Cup final. There are four changes to the side that lost in Wellington - with Tamaiti Williams, Rieko Ioane, Caleb Clarke and Will Jordan all starting. Sportstalk host D'Arcy Waldegrave explains further. The All Blacks lineup has entered the spotlight, with four changes made for Saturday's rematch against the Pumas at Eden Park. Rieko Ioane's swapped in for Anton Leinert-Brown to start at centre while Caleb Clarke and Will Jordan are the starting wingers. Ethan de Groot's out with a neck injury so Tamaiti Williams starts in the front row while former captain Sam Cane's onto the bench. Former All Black Sir John Kirwan says this will be a good chance for TJ Perenara to redeem himself after last week's loss. "He'll get out there and make amends - or he'll be under some real pressure. That's probably why he's out there." LISTEN ABOVESee omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Will Jordan is back in black, following a season-long stint on the sideline. Sam Cane also sees a return – with the naming of the Rugby Championship squad squaring the line-up for the upcoming Argentina match. His strike rate speaks for itself, having scored 31 tries in 31 games for the All Blacks at international level and he's quickly approaching 100 if to add on his Tasman Mako and Crusader ones as well. However as we always hear on these episodes, the rugby professional rugby career is not just all good fun and scoring tries there are always ups and downs to go through with Will himself having had a tough run of late. Last year he suffered an unusual injury which had no time frame and left him struggling in a race against the clock to get back in time for the RWC. This year before the season has even started he's had to go under the knife on his shoulder which has ruled him out for the Super Rugby season. It was awesome to chat to Will about how he has handled some of these harder points in his career, as well as all the incredible things he has done recently including a very strong Rugby World Cup. As you'll hear, Will is one of the easiest guys to have a conversation with, he has a great mind for the game and is just an all round champion lad!See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

The Rich Zeoli Show- Full Show (10/16/2023): 3:05pm- On Monday, Judge Tanya S. Chutkan imposed a limited gag order on Donald Trump—in a case that alleges Trump conspired to overturn the 2020 presidential election. Judge Chutkan's gag order prevents the former president from verbally attacking witnesses and prosecutors publicly. Alarmingly, it may also restrict Trump's ability to criticize specific elements of the Biden Administration's Department of Justice. Could this gag order impact Trump's ability to campaign—and is it a violation of his First Amendment right to free speech and petition? Trump is expected to appeal the order. You can read more about the developing story here: https://www.inquirer.com/news/philadelphia-airport-shooting-arrest-richard-mendez-raul-ortiz-20231016.html 3:40pm- Will Judge Tanya S. Chutkan's imposed gag order on Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump impact his ability to campaign effectively? Under the order, Trump will be unable, for example, to criticize Special Counsel for the Department of Justice Jack Smith. From his Truth Social account, Trump stated: “WILL APPEAL THE GAG ORDER RULING. WITCH HUNT! A TERRIBLE THING HAPPENED TO DEMOCRACY TODAY—GAG ORDER!” 4:05pm- According to Audrey Fahlberg of National Review, “three avowed ‘no' votes—Representatives Mike Rogers (R-AK), Ken Calvert (R-CA), and Ann Wagner (R-MO)—all [signaled] in public statements that they will reverse course and back [Jim] Jordan's bid.” The House is expected to have a floor vote to decide the next speaker on Tuesday afternoon. 4:15pm- In a closed-door vote held on Friday, House Republicans nominated Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH) to be the next Speaker of the House—he received 124 votes. The only other candidate running against Jordan, Rep. Austin Scott (R-GA), announced he would withdraw from the race. Will Jordan be able to unify the Republican caucus and win the 217 votes necessary to be named speaker? 4:40pm- Rep. John Rutherford (R-FL) told reporters on Capitol Hill that he will not vote for Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH) to be the next House speaker. He explained: “I am a ‘no' on allowing Matt Gaetz, and the other seven [Republicans that ousted Kevin McCarthy], to win by putting their individual in as speaker.” Meanwhile, an optimistic Jordan told reporters: “We are going to elect a new speaker tomorrow.” 5:05pm- Max Marin of The Philadelphia Inquirer writes: “Police have arrested a suspect in the killing of Officer Richard Mendez and the wounding of Officer Raul Ortiz, who were shot on Thursday while responding to a car theft in a parking garage at Philadelphia International Airport.” During an afternoon press conference on Monday, the Philadelphia Police Department identified the suspect as Yobranny Martínez Fernández—though, they are still actively searching for two other suspects. If this is true, why isn't the Biden Administration prioritizing border security? Griff Jenkins, national correspondent for Fox News, reports that at least two Iranians on the terror watchlist have been arrested at the U.S. Southern border already this month. 5:25pm- While speaking with Scott Pelley on 60 Minutes, President Joe Biden conceded that there is an elevated terror threat in the United States following the Hamas attacks in Israel. Biden went on to accuse Hamas of “hiding behind civilians”—which makes it more difficult for Israeli forces to eliminate the threat of future attacks. 5:35pm- Rich is joined by 1210 WPHT producers Anthony and Dan who are at Citizen Bank Park ahead of tonight's Game 1 playoff matchup between the Philadelphia Phillies and Arizona Diamondbacks.
