Tap here to text the showYes, your eyes and ears don't deceive you. For the show's 4th anniversary(!), we're here with an episode we made way back in March, so our audio engineer's snarglies have been seized for quite a while. They are now un-seized, and not only is our show worth the wait to hear, but it's worth the weight it takes to make. The 'weight' being all the times in our lives we have to spin every plate, juggle each task, and push forward despite the setbacks. We all can relate to that, and we all need a good laugh. Without further ado, Episode 42!You can find our links here: https://linktr.ee/siblingsspillingtea
Pastor Christy Johnson preaches a message "Kingdom Scales: Worth The Weight". When we ask God to use our lives, what we don't realize we are asking for is for the Lord to prepare us. We are going to have to go through some moments of pressing and pruning which end up being quite painful but instead of complaining when those things happen let's aim to become people of prayer! The weight of God's glory on our lives might not happen easily but it will happen faithfully and that glory will always be worth the wait. We cannot abort the assignment because on the other side of our faithfulness we will experience the beautiful birth of something impactful.

I greet you in Jesus' precious name! It is Saturday morning, the 2nd of March, 2024, and this is your friend, Angus Buchan, with a thought for today. We start in 1 Corinthians 3:12-13: “Now if anyone builds on this foundation with gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, straw, each one's work will become clear; for the Day will declare it, because it will be revealed by fire; and the fire will test each one's work, of what sort it is.” God weighs what we bring to Him. He does not measure it, He weighs it. What do we mean by that? Well, often you have seen a little donkey walking along a country road with a huge bundle of hay tied on his little back. Sometimes you can hardly see his face, it looks very cruel, but you know, the hay actually weighs nothing, it's just bulk. Now we take a little honey bee - have you ever felt the weight of a small jar of honey? It is solid weight. It feels like lead. It's heavy because it has cost that little honey bee everything. They say a bee only lives for about 3 weeks and it literally works itself to death. It works very, very hard. I am a beekeeper. I love bees and that is why I will not see anybody destroy a little bee. They work so hard. It takes them about a lifetime to produce one teaspoon of honey, but that honey is solid and that is how we have to be with our service towards the Lord Jesus Christ. It's not all froth and bubbles and noise. God is interested in solid things. We have to walk the talk, we have got to be an example to the world of how a Christian lives, not so much by what we say but rather by who we are. Today, let us start building that house with gold and silver and precious jewels, not wood, hay and stubble that will burn up. Jesus bless you and have a wonderful day,Goodbye.

A stone-cold classic. Quite possibly our best episode ever, certainly our most recent.
Grace & mercy is interceding on your behalf. The weight of your situation my be uncomfortable but the reward shall be great. Keep holding on to the unchanging hand of God.
On this week's episode of the B-Side, Carl and Coffee Mike sit down one-on-one to talk about, among other things, a passage from Revelation chapter 3. What can modern believers learn from Jesus' rebuke to the broader faith community in ancient Sardis? This brings us to a connection with a rebuke Jesus gives the Pharisees in Matthew chapter 23. Are we stumbling in a similar way, and are we blinding ourselves to it like they did? Also, we look at the faithful remnant in Sardis, and what it means when Jesus declares them “worthy”. Let's dig in together! [Bible Study: Revelation 3:1-6; Matthew 23:1-3,27-28] Thanks for listening. We pray that it's a blessing to you! Dr. Jonny begins a series discussing his personal journey toward health and weight loss. He describe our current culture and the disconnect between the world we were created to live in and the land of access and excess we find ourselves in. Being overweight or obese is epidemic in our society and is slowly being considered the new normal.
Being someone who used to be 100 pounds heavier, one of the FAQ's I get is : HOW DID YOU LOSE THE WEIGHT? HOW CAN I LOSE WEIGHT? There's no magic answer. There's no magic pill (and, in fact, beware the magic pills, y'all.) The most important thing is to approach it from a gaining your health and adding in nutrition standpoint, from a positive perspective as opposed to something that society tells us you SHOULD do. And to LISTEN to your body and mind. This is my trajectory told in a somewhat timeline standpoint. --- Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/whosdatphatgirl/support

This inspired her to commit to losing some weight. When it comes to Bo's Impossible Question of the Day, one from this week might ruffle your feathers. The question asked: Which is heavier, 100 pounds of rocks or 100 pounds of feathers? Diane from Store 40 in Moberly, Missouri, isn't taking for granite that she was the first caller to answer Bo's Impossible Question correctly. However, associates Nathan, Andrew and Tucker were rock stars themselves also calling in with the right answer. When you wait on God, when you remain obedient to Him, you will gain strength. He will strengthen and set you up for a future greater than you can imagine. God has plans for you that are beyond your wildest dreams. There is no greater plan for your life than God's. And this is why we so often have to go through trials and tribulations, to prepare us for the future. God uses these trials and tribulations to grow our faith and strengthen us in ways we could not have otherwise been strengthened. And while the preparation God is giving you for the future is important, there is something else that is also important: the promise. When you wait, it is often waiting on something God has promised you. And so today, we are going to look at why it's worth the weight of waiting and obeying to see God's promises to you come to fruition.

This episode will shed light on the value of carrying heavy things, figuratively and literally. We discuss the muscle memory necessary when dealing with difficulty and the 'weightiness' of life's drama. Heavy can help. Heavy can build. In this episode, we attempt to to breakdown misconceptions that exist in the fitness industry, in addition to explaining our personal and combined experience of over twenty years of training and educating ourselves in proper workout techniques. As with everything in the fitness industry, information changes and may not apply to one person as much as it does another. What we hope to do with this episode is to give the individual a starting point towards building a better body and this blueprint applies to experienced lifters, as well as brand new gym-goers. For clarity, neither of us hold degrees in in this field, but we actively engage new research and draw a lot of evidence from personal experience, both positive and negative. Additionally, we have found a large portion of information pushed by "experts" or social media to be outdated if not made up altogether. More than all else, we simply want to help give someone the confidence to begin their gym journey, because we believe that is never to late to start and everything we laid out can be used as a guide to navigating what can be an intimidating journey.

The weight of the Christian life is a burden, which leads one to ask, why would someone even bother to pick up that cross? In this sermon we take a look at Paul's explanation in 2: Corinthians 4:8-18 of why the Christian life is worth the weight. I. We will be troubled. (Vs. 8-9), II. We will be tried. (Vs. 10-11), III. We will testify. (Vs. 12-15), IV. We will triumph. (Vs. 16-18).

Do you remember a time when you didn't have the right tool for the job? Maybe you lacked an allen wrench whilst putting together IKEA furniture, or instead of using a ruler to do you crush's algebra homework you used the Valentine's day card you didn't have the guts to give her as your straight edge. We can all agree that both situations are less than ideal and would be remedied by having the correct apparatus for completing the task. Well your health and wellness goals are no different. Sam and Manas discuss the variety of ways you can gauge your progress when it comes to measuring goals and why it's always better to have more than one option available.

Daniel 5: 1-31 - November 17th, 2019Have you weighed yourself lately? Disappointed? Surprised? The scales are not the enemy – they simply tell the truth, whether we like it or not! The question is what we decide to do about it. Belshazzar, the biological predecessor of Nebuchadnezzar, knew the weight of God’s grace in his father’s life, but he shunned it. Instead of weighing himself, he divulged in a sinful pattern that led to a bold challenge against the true God. So God took his weight for him. This memorable story illustrates that God is not mocked, and whatever a man sows, that he will also reap.

Mara is another author I came across during "the Next Big Thing" blog hunt. Most authors say they've been writing forever. Not so with Mara. She always had the stories, but they played like movies in her head. A few years ago she began transferring the movies to pages. She writes mysteries with romance, thrillers with romance, and romances with...well, you get it. Looking forward to chatting to her about her books including the latest in her "worth" series "Worth the Weight"
