For all of my twenties I was trapped in a cycle of excessive drinking and I became subdued, a half-version of myself. I began to realise the damage alcohol was doing to my relationships and career and in 2019, I became teetotal for three years, completely changing my relationship with alcohol. It's the best decision I’ve ever made and inspired me to start my own business, CleanCo, which is now the largest independent non-alcoholic spirits brand in the world. Building a business has been the most challenging thing I’ve ever done and I’ve become fascinated by how other people have developed a mindset for success. Each week I’ll be speaking inspirational people to find out what it takes to overcome life’s obstacles and be the best at what they do. This podcast is full of useful tips on how you can become the best version of yourself.
The Big Fish with Spencer Matthews is an incredibly insightful podcast that offers a unique perspective into the lives of individuals who are not often heard from. As someone living and working in New York, I found myself captivated by the first two episodes, which I listened to during my daily commute. The conversations and pieces of advice shared on this podcast stayed with me throughout the day and even into the evening. It's refreshing to hear stories that resonate so deeply, despite coming from people with very different backgrounds.
One of the best aspects of this podcast is how it allows listeners to gain valuable insights into the lives of others. The interviews are thought-provoking and provide a deeper understanding of various life experiences. From successful entrepreneurs to everyday individuals striving for personal growth, each episode sheds light on different perspectives and challenges. Spencer Matthews has a natural ability to create a comfortable space where guests feel open to sharing their honest thoughts and experiences.
Another commendable aspect of The Big Fish is its focus on providing practical advice that listeners can apply to their own lives. Whether it's discussing entrepreneurship, personal development, or overcoming obstacles, each interviewee brings a wealth of knowledge to the table. It's inspiring to hear how they have navigated through hardships and come out stronger on the other side. This podcast serves as a source of motivation for anyone looking for guidance or inspiration in their own journey.
While there are many positive aspects to The Big Fish, one potential downside is that it may not cater to everyone's taste. Some listeners might prefer more light-hearted content or comedic elements in their podcasts, which this show does not necessarily offer. Although it doesn't strive to be entertaining in the same way as comedy podcasts do, it more than makes up for it with its incredible depth and authenticity.
In conclusion, The Big Fish with Spencer Matthews is an exceptional podcast that delves into the lives of individuals who have experienced both success and hardship. With insightful conversations and practical advice, this show offers a unique perspective that is both thought-provoking and inspiring. As someone who greatly enjoyed the first two episodes, I would definitely recommend it to a friend or colleague. I eagerly look forward to the next episode and what new stories it will bring to light.
