It's a strange balance, isn't it? On one hand, we're deeply connected to the infinite, the unseen, the magical. THE DIVINE! On the other hand, we're navigating a world that feels rigid, materialistic, and transactional.Sometimes it feels like living with one foot in each world—trying to honor our spiritual truths while still playing by the rules of this 3D reality. And let's be real, it's not always easy! How do you stay grounded in your spirituality while managing the demands of a world that doesn't always make space for it?That's exactly what this podcast episode is all about. I'm sitting down with Jackie Ortez, psychic medium and Reiki Master Teacher, who has been waist-deep in her own spiritual healing and guidance business since June 2017.Jackie's mission in life is to show people that life can be what they want. It doesn't have to be a stress and anxiety filled experience. Everyone's birthright is to be loved, to share love and have unlimited abundance. And in this episode, she and I have a delightful conversation about what it means to live a “normal” life while also being highly spiritual. Stay tuned!

We had the pleasure of interviewing Grace Davies over Zoom video!Grace Davies unveils her latest single 'Another Night,' a masterfully crafted, feel-good pop anthem which showcases her remarkable vocals and creative talent within songwriting & music production. The track's infectious energy immediately captivates listeners, creating an irresistible and timeless soundscape that will leave you instantly hooked.Crafted in collaboration with producer Paul Whalley & topliner Ben Lythe, 'Another Night' draws inspiration from Grace's childhood musical influences, notably ABBA, infusing the track with a nostalgic, warm, fuzzy feeling that resonates deeply with us all. The production masterfully balances retro elements with contemporary pop sensibilities - creating a unique for current times, yet universally appealing sound that wraps listeners in a comforting sonic embrace. ‘Another Night' is a result of an unconventional songwriting approach for Grace – working backwards from melody to lyrics. "I never work like that, normally" Grace reveals. "I usually have a specific topic I want to write about, come in with lyrics pre-prepared, and then find a melody. This time “Producer Paul” had the piano part already in his voice notes and I just mumbled gibberish over the top that happened to sound like the words “Another Night”. It was really fun to imagine what the song could be about from a title, rather than picking from past experiences." Grace, Ben & Paul have become somewhat of a “dream-team”, in their own words, across the forthcoming project - with ‘Another Night' being their inaugural co-write together. At its core, 'Another Night' explores the delicate balance of relationships pushed to their breaking point. The track delves into the territory of paranoia in love, chronicling the moment when small grievances snowball into irreparable damage. The song's gradual build-up mirrors this emotional journey, culminating in a powerful revelation of vulnerability and regret. Yet, true to Grace's artistic vision, she transforms this heavy narrative into an uplifting dance-pop experience. When listening to Grace Davies' single ‘Another Night' she playfully notes, "You can't help but dance... ‘Dance Cry', my personal favourite genre!" This brilliant juxtaposition of emotional depth and catchy chorus, paired with the nostalgic melodies, creates a fun pop anthem that is not only relatable but encourages listeners to find joy and have fun, even in life's more challenging moments.About Grace DaviesGrace Davies is a 27-year-old singer, songwriter, musician and producer from Blackburn, Lancashire. Since the beginning of her career, Grace has scored huge success, with over 100M+ streams for her songs on Spotify alone, support across the board at radio and acclaim everywhere from The Sunday Times to the BBC. At the age of 18, Grace's first self-released project received national BBC Introducing support, was championed by BBC 6 Music and had a track remixed by Radio 1 Dance Music DJ, Danny Howard. In 2017, she was invited to appear on the X Factor and her audition video of original song ‘roots' went viral. In a first for the show, Grace shook up the format by showcasing her original material throughout the competition and triumphed as runner up - gaining a top 2 iTunes chart position and numerous top 10s. 2020 marked the start of a new era in Grace's career – her debut EP Friends With The Tragic reaffirmed her reputation as an exceptional songwriter. Following the closure of her former label SYCO, she self-released her second EP I Wonder If You Wonder in 2021, which was an even bigger success - with standout release ‘roots' (written solely by Grace), reaching the Top 3 in the UK iTunes Single Charts, the Official Charts Top 100 and the UK Big Top 40, as well as plays on BBC Radio 1Xtra, BBC Radio 1, BBC Radio 2, Heart & Capital FM. Her last EP, It Wasn't Perfect, But We Tried sees her at her most confident and in the producer's chair for the first time. As well as writing credits on all five songs, she co-produced three tracks, and fully produced two of the tracks herself, proving her a true multi-hyphenate. Grace's catalogue continues to gain in popularity for sync in international TV programmes, including Love Island, Britain's Got Talent, I'm A Celebrity (Get Me Out Of Here), Strictly Come Dancing, American Idol, Eastenders, Hollyoaks and many more. Grace is completely owning her sound and is never happier than being at the forefront of her projects, both sonically as well as creatively. As a result, she is blazing a trail for women in a male-dominated industry. Grace Davies has had a consistent stream of incredibly crafted music that deeply connects her to her listeners; part of that body work includes her previous single “A Wonderful, Boring, Normal Life' generating acknowledgement from Clash Magazine, Equate Magazine and The Official Charts Company. Now with her latest single 'Another Night,' she channels her artistic excellence into a nostalgic pop anthem that proves Grace Davies is back better than ever, ready to dominate both playlists and dance floors across the UK.We want to hear from you! Food Allergy Made Easy | Food Allergy Safety Based On Experience and Research
Hey Food Allergy Mama, If you've ever found yourself wondering, Can my food allergy kid really live a normal, well-balanced life? then you're in the right place. This is one of those questions that hits hard, right? I mean, it's something we food allergy moms think about all the time—especially at diagnosis. I still remember that moment so clearly. My mind was spinning with thoughts like, ‘Wait, does this mean no birthday cake? No cookie decorating at Christmas? No pizza at sleepovers?' It felt like a tidal wave of emotions because until you're in the thick of it, you don't realize just how deeply food is woven into every part of our kids' lives. It's at every event, every celebration, every little moment. That was 17 years ago, but I've revisited that question again and again. And if you're anything like me, you probably have too. So today, I'm sharing my personal stories, my real-life reflections, and the life lessons I've learned along the way. Whether you're brand new to the food allergy journey or have been navigating it for a while, this episode is packed with insights that'll make you feel seen, heard, and hopefully a little more empowered. (Conversation recorded on April 23rd, 2024) Show Summary: On this episode, Nate is joined by climate physicist Levke Caesar for a comprehensive overview of the Atlantic Meridional Overturning Circulation (AMOC) and its connections to broader planetary systems. Amid a complex and heavily interconnected climate system, the AMOC is a powerful force for regulating temperature between the Northern and Southern Hemispheres along the Atlantic Ocean - yet it's estimated to have slowed down by about 15% over the last few decades. What are the possible domino effects of this slowing oceanic powerhouse at a regional and global scale? How well do we understand what drives the AMOC, its cyclical patterns, and connections with other currents? More importantly, how does the AMOC interact with other biospheric mechanisms that have shaped our stable, life-supporting planetary home? About Levke Caesar: Levke Caesar is a climate physicist at the Potsdam Institute for Climate Impact Research, mainly known for her studies on the Atlantic Meridional Overturning Circulation (AMOC) and its pivotal role in the climate system. Her research primarily focuses on the past, present, and future evolution of the AMOC and its intricate interactions within the North Atlantic region. Caesar's seminal work on the historical evolution of the AMOC has been featured in prestigious journals such as Nature and Nature Geoscience, garnering hundreds of citations. Since October 2023, she has assumed the role of scientific lead for the newly launched Planetary Boundary Science Initiative (PBScience) at PIK. “There's no normal life Wyatt, It's just life. Get on with it.” ― Val Kilmer as "Doc" Holliday To give them hope, dig them out of a funk or to help them heal from some shame or regret they may be experiencing. You cannot ever judge someones journey and experiences against another's for no two are exactly the same from conception to death. So stop looking to the next guy to gauge what you have or where you are in life because you can't compare the two as they are not the same things. There is no normal life, there's just life. the Bible reminds us that all life comes from God, both physical and spiritual. God holds the power of life and death in His hands. The Bible also says that Jesus, the Son of God, is the Author of Life. Jesus Himself stated, “I am the way and the truth and the life” (John 14:6). What we call Christianity was once called THE WAY. It's a different way of thinking. Of operating. It's counter cultural today. When you are sitting around sad because the publisher clearing house guy didn't come to your house, your child wants to be something they are not, the bills are so high you can't pay attention, your spouse is giving you the blues, your take home pay can't take you home, you want a vacation, but your money is funny. Stuff just keeps. Going wrong even though you are doing right, remember that life is just life. These times, like I am going through have changed me. I'm doing things differently, I have a deeper sense of self and purpose, a greater appreciation for life and loved ones, and an increased capacity for empathy and desire to act for the greater good. I care less about the minutia. Most things today are minutia. TV sucks to me. I can do without video games, pop culture is abhorrent. I am having a hard time still being a caregiver. But we all have our crosses to bear. Talking about my problems is not attractive to me. I can cry now at the sound of a lyric. I think my prayers are more sincere though. I am trying not to let my emotions rule. I listen to God more than I talk. He is not disappointed or frustrated by our struggles, doubts or pain. I don't expect and have been disappointed in every therapist and doctor I have met in the past three years. They are just people. Just like plumbers, electricians, contractors etc that you call and they do crappy work. Just people. We give them more power than we should. And our dissapointed every time. Well at least I am. the Bible says that our pain has a purpose. Romans 5:3-5 Romans 8:26-27 — The Holy Spirit prays on our behalf. Sometimes our suffering is so intense that we can't even find the words to pray. But our inability to form cohesive thoughts doesn't frustrate God or derail his plan. The Holy Spirit takes our unspoken confusion and heartache to the Father, translating our tears into effective prayers: “And the Holy Spirit helps us in our weakness. For example, we don't know what God wants us to pray for. But the Holy Spirit prays for us with groanings that cannot be expressed in words. And the Father who knows all hearts knows what the Spirit is saying, for the Spirit pleads for us believers in harmony with God's own will” Romans 8:26-27 — The Holy Spirit prays on our behalf. No matter how deeply you ache now, suffering has an expiration date: “I heard a loud shout from the throne, saying, Look, God's home is now among his people! He will live with them, and they will be his people. God himself will be with them. He will wipe every tear from their eyes, and there will be no more death or sorrow or crying or pain. All these things are gone forever” (Revelation 21:3-4 — Our suffering will end in joy. Our hard times won't just get better — hardship will completely cease to exist someday! This passage isn't wishful imagination. It's an unshakeable promise of a real day when we'll live with God and experience his complete restoration in heaven. There will be no more sin or brokenness, no more fear, loss or grief. There will just be freedom, joy and wholeness forever. Just hold on and live. Romans 8. Read the whole chapter, pray and soak in more radiant truths like these: Living in relationship with Jesus removes all condemnation from our lives (v. 1). The Holy Spirit sets us free from the control of sin and leads us to life and peace (vv. 5-6). We don't need to fear because God is our Father (v. 15). What we suffer now can't compare to the glory that's coming (v.1 8). God transforms even the hardest things into tools for our ultimate good (v. 28). Absolutely nothing can separate us from the love of God (v. 38). I now know I didn't know anything when I was a younger pastor. My words of comfort were hollow. If I h=did any good it was the Holy Spirit working through me. I didn't have the answers. I was still learning myself. Well, I am taking the exam right now. Maybe you are too. Stuff happens. Family, friends, finances, people are dying, we are in various stages of grief, the country and our culture is self destructing, here's the thing, you are not alone, you are not going through this ( I almost cussed) situation alone. Someone somewhere knows exactly how you feel. Someone somewhere is willing to listen. And until you find them talk to God. He will never leave you, nor forsake you, no matter what you think you have done against HIm. He is patient and long suffering. More than we are. He knows your limitations. And you are probably stronger than you think you are. 34 I will bless the Lord at all times: his praise shall continually be in my mouth. 2 My soul shall make her boast in the Lord: the humble shall hear thereof, and be glad. 3 O magnify the Lord with me, and let us exalt his name together. 4 I sought the Lord, and he heard me, and delivered me from all my fears. Rex Heuermann, a prime suspect in the notorious Gilgo Beach murder case, is once again under scrutiny, and this time, so is his wife. According to fresh allegations, not only did Heuermann have deep ties to the deaths of several sex workers, but he might have led a darker life than anyone imagined. So, what shadows did the walls of the Heuermann household hide, and how much of it was visible to his wife, Asa? The latest revelations paint a picture of Heuermann as a man deeply involved in a swinger-style sex life dating back to 1996. As discussed on the "Hidden Killers" podcast with Tony Brueski and Forensic Psychologist Joni Johnston, some former sex workers claimed to recognize Heuermann, describing him as an easily distinguishable figure. More chillingly, they described occasions when he would take them to his house, specifically to the basement, for sex parties, while his wife stayed upstairs. As Brueski highlighted, "But the allegations are that she was very aware of what was going on." Asa Heuermann has thus far claimed ignorance of any sinister activities. Johnston commented on the distinction between knowing of her husband's sexual escapades and associating him with torturing and murdering women. "There is obviously a huge gap between knowing that your husband is a swinger... and then all of a sudden, thinking that your husband is torturing and luring, you know, sex workers and then torturing and murdering them," she remarked. But the continuous waves of allegations are casting a shadow of doubt on Asa's claims. A significant point of debate is the duration of Rex Heuermann's deviant behavior. The general consensus among many was that his crimes were limited to the 2000-2010 timeframe. However, Johnston expressed skepticism, hinting at the possibility of Heuermann's activities spanning a much broader timeline. She remarked on the concerning behaviors before and after the known period, indicating that the investigation is still in its early stages. The role and knowledge of Asa Heuermann are undeniably under the microscope. Yet, connecting the dots between her being aware of her husband's swinger lifestyle to the assumption of her knowledge about his alleged crimes is a leap. Both Brueski and Johnston emphasize the importance of evidence before drawing conclusions, especially in a case as convoluted as this. But how does someone like Rex Heuermann, if guilty, live such a dual life? He was, after all, a successful architect with a family. Johnston shed light on the psychology of such individuals, comparing it to the different roles people adopt in various situations but amplified manifold. The ability to compartmentalize, rationalize, and dehumanize are traits that potentially allowed him to detach from his alleged heinous crimes. The revelations surrounding the Heuermanns have caused a ripple in the world of crime investigation. While the evidence will ultimately decide Rex Heuermann's fate, the testimonies and debates provide a disturbing insight into the depths of human nature. This brings us to the chilling question: In the midst of such revelations, can we ever truly know the people closest to us? Want to listen to ALL of our podcasts AD-FREE?
