Hey everyone! This is just Colton here, delivering some update information. We haven't died, we have just shifted gears into a music project and away from this one. For the time being Keith and I are working on a duo rock group and we really wanted to put 100% of our energy into that project. We don't have a lot of free time together, so taking a break here was the only real path forward. We enjoy this and want to come back, but we want to execute the music project first. When we come back we will likely stay on YouTube to build more of a following and then come back to other streaming platforms.Again, thank you all so much for the love and support. I hope that you will also enjoy our music endeavors. We'll see you on the other side!-Colton and Keith

We talk about everything and just catch up on mic. We talk a lot about trying to pursue dreams and knowing when is the right time to drop fun pursuits. We try to have some fun, this one is just breaking back through the ice.

Something big is impacting the digital scene. Well it already has, but we're finally talking about it. NFT's are here, and I'm sure you're tired of hearing all of the internet crap about them, but we wanted to talk about it from the angle of someone creating and selling digital art.Non Fungible Tokens seem to give anyone the ability to "scarcify" their digital creations. Now it's possible to have a "first edition" version of your digital artwork, music, podcast, or even your blog posts. The NBA has been doing it with video clips of some of their best players, and people seem to love it!We talk about how artists are currently using this new medium and how smaller artists, such as ourselves, could start using it to make some dough. We try to talk about this in a way we haven't heard others talk about, so we hope you enjoy. Please follow us on social media @BWLTPodcast, leave us a glowing review on your preferred listening app, and please tell us what you want to hear! The future is a wild place. It could be dystopian, utopian, or somewhere in between. One thing is certain though, technology will become outdated and be replaced with newer tech.In this episode we talk about all the parts and pieces of modern life that we think will be replaced by technology in the future. We cover everything from currencies to fast food employees, and everything in between. Of course this is all our speculation, who knows what will actually happen. We also spend a good bit of time trying our hand at making light of recent events, so if you don't like the idea of nothing-off-the-table humor then you very much won't enjoy this one, but tell us what you think!

We know what you're thinking, why are we talking about a feel-good children's story featuring a boy and his pet death lizard. Well folks, we wish we were, but unfortunately this story is much more intense than that.Roko's Basilisk is a thought experiment that originated in an online philosophy forum and it presents quite the paradoxical problem for anyone who hears it. If you don't handle existential dread or deep philosophical problems very well, DO NOT LISTEN. Now, Keith and Colton don't really give credence to the idea presented in this experiment, but it is what many people would consider harmful information. You have been warned. The first few minutes of this episode are spent covering our t-shirt orders. If you'd like to see the physical shirt please find us on YouTube and watch the video version of this episode! You all have until Sunday, March 7th to send us a message to order one. We've referenced his work numerous times on this show and will continue to do so. He wasn't a very good person, quite a racist one actually, but he was groundbreaking for the horror genre. We would wager that almost all modern horror exists because of what Lovecraft was able to conjure out of his strange mind.We cover his whole life as well as what we think his influence means to us.We also address some details about our custom shirts. Hopefully this still works well on earbuds and speakers, but please swing by Youtube to check out the full video! This episode is a bit different than what we have done in the past. In honor of us getting our camera up and running we decided to do a jelly bean Russian roulette challenge. Basically every 2 minutes for an hour we eat a random jelly bean out of a bowl that is mixed with normal jelly beans and the Beanboozled jelly beans. The Beanboozled ones taste like garbage by the way. Welcome to 2021 everyone, and thank you so much for bringing us along with you. We may have hoped and prayed that this year would be a more relaxed time for us all, but so far it's coming on strong like the twice divorced retired DJ at your local bar. We are only 8 days into this bad-boy and things are still turned up to 11.A wild group of protesters turned rioters took over Capitol Hill on Wednesday and stormed the halls of Congress. The President seemingly pushed them towards it on a crusade to "save our democracy". Now, it doesn't matter whether or not you agree with them, what does matter is they did it and seem like they may be willing to do it again. There is still almost two weeks before the inauguration and who knows what could possibly go down. We've been wanting to have our friend Conlee on the show to talk about the certification of the electoral ballots for a while now, but that was all completely overshadowed by the events that unfolded earlier that day. This is our attempt at understanding what happened, why it happened, and what could possibly come from it. Colton believes this is a pride issue, as in people (many millennials) aren't taking pride in the work that they're doing. We discuss the potential reasons for this. Is it because we see jobs as transitory in our lives? Is it because we think it ultimately doesn't matter? Follow along as we try to figure it out ourselves, and chime in with what you think as well. And we try to avoid the boring political talk as much as possible. Instead we focus on the implications of an assumed victory, why we think both sides won't want to accept the opposite side's victory, and most importantly of all we laugh at how insanely dumb this whole thing is.We also talk a bit about the electoral college, our beliefs on who is actually going to win and why we think owning guns is absolutely and objectively stupid. Nothing bad could possibly come from all of this tension and unrest. You guys are paranoid. Also all of our guns were lost or destroyed in boating accidents this month, which is unfortunate =(

Some things are changing here at Big Word, Little Thought! We're officially condensing each episode into a 45 minute bracket to keep things consistent, we're switching gears into more philosophy and topics of deeper thought. We will do our best to keep the serious political mess to a minimum, we promise. Life is filled with it enough without us engaging in more, so if we do discuss it we will tie it in to our philosophy or comedy thought trains to keep it fresh. And of course our heart's beat with music so that's not going anywhere! Now, this episode is a bit of a rebranding of our approach to podcasting. We're coming back to our philosophy and logic roots by reviewing the ideas in "The Fourth Turning" by William Strauss and Neil Howe. "The Fourth Turning" is a sort of prophetic book written in the late 90's to try and warn the American people of the coming (historically proven) crisis. This crisis was due to climax around 2025, which is basically our current timeframe, and we believe it has. In this episode we try to explain briefly what "Turnings" are and how each generation fits into the mechanical movements of each turning. More importantly we look into the "job" that us Millennials hold during this climactic time in American history as well as how we feel about our generational standing currently. The Boomers, Generation X, and the Millennials all have to work together to maintain balance and ensure that we continue moving forward as a society. What does this mean for the Millennials? How do our morals and values play into our role? The waves of history are constantly lapping at a new generations feet, but now it's our time to be the heroes and help pave the way to the new era of American history. We get deep, but we keep it light when possible. If you enjoy this episode please check out "The Fourth Turning" and "Generations" by the authors William Strauss and Neil Howe, you will love them.
