Special announcement – The GenX Book Club is up and running, and we will begin discussing the first selection this October! The Book club can be found as a Facebook Group or can be found on Bookclubs.com for those of you not on Facebook. We will select one book a month (for the time being) that members of Generation X will enjoy. It may be an autobiography/biography of a Gen X celebrity, or books that take place from the 1970s through the 1990s, or books that members of Gen X grew up reading. All generations are welcome here because we're cool like that. There will be discussions throughout the month, and a Zoom meeting at the end of the month, which may be aired on the Return to the '80s podcast. I will also try to get the author of the selected book on the call/podcast. Today was an unexpected podcast. Back in February, my @Returntothe80s Twitter account of 17,000 followers was hacked and stolen. I tried to get it back, but to no avail. So I started over. Then I just got an email today from Twitter saying that it has been rectified. I now have my old account (and most followers) back! While I was in a good mood, I wanted to give a special shout out to my close friends and followers that I could think of, as well as promote some newer retro podcasts I've been loving. Finally, I have started a Patreon page. It was started for my Rhode Runner side of things. But, there is '80s extras in there as well. You can visit https://www.patreon.com/TheRhodeRunner to check it out, and see if you'd like to donate $3. Currently, there is a podcast episode about The Romantics self-titled debut album, as well as a short story I wrote about my boot camp experience in 1989. Podcast mentions: Buzzn The Tower Genx Voice The Untitled Genx Podcast Choose 80s You can follow Return to the 80s at: rtt80s.com Find Return to the ’80s on Facebook Twitter: @returntothe80s Email: returntothe80s@gmail.com Also, you can subscribe to the Return to the ’80s podcast on Apple Podcasts Stitcher Spotify iHeartRadio Podbean PlayerFM
