Season #7, Episode #1Self Discovery Occurs in Stillness – Donna MouldsSo excited to start off 2022 and I want to share some of what I do to kick of the year on the right foot. Journaling can be very therapeutic and can help get the crap out of your head and onto the pages where you can decipher what's happening. The only way to truly reflect and find what is inside is to be alone and still long enough to think about what you really want this one life to look like.I start with reflections on what has gone, not wallowing, simply reflection, I then move into what I am truly grateful for especially looking at the year that has gone what am I most grateful for and I know for some it will be that I am grateful this year is over, and that's perfect for you.I then start writing my intentions for the up coming year in all aspects of my life, career, family, relationships, all if it. I build a clear picture of my intention so I can cement that and stay on track especially in challenging times.I then look to my future and plan this out and stay aligned to my values.Remember we are all resilient beyond what we contemplate is possible.Book picks for the month·         Set Boundaries, find peace – Nedra Glover Tawwab·         The Arc of Love – Esther PerelFollow and subscribe to our podcastApple: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/the-resilience-movement/id1493036606?uo=4Spotify:  https://open.spotify.com/show/5IqQe2AcH9d9NHVP46K328If you want to create a better life and be able to overcome challenges instead of being debilitated by adversity than you are in the right podcast, your host Donna Moulds has a wealth of experience in overcoming adversity, pushing herself beyond what she thought was possible and coming out the other end more resilient, more confident and with a zest for living life with purpose and passion. The Resilience Movement was created to help you find the tools and the determination to have the life you deserve helping you discover not only resilience beyond contemplation, it's about discovering yourself, and developing self love and self worth creating more trust and belief in yourself to thrive in life, lets face it you only have 1 life make it magical.Follow us on:Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/theresiliencemovementInstagram: https://www.instagram.com/theresiliencemovement/Website: www.theresiliencemovement.com.au

We all know plans aren't always set in stone but that doesn't mean we should make big plans. We know from the research that news years resolutions don't work, so STOP IT! Think about this if you make a subtle change in the amount of food you eat you will have a change, eat less junk food, you may have weight loss, eat more junk food you may have weight gain, exercise more you will have greater fitness and exercise less and you will have a decline in your fitness, you get the point. And never forget Resilience is accessible to everyone!Book picks for the month·         Burnout – Emily Nagoski and Amelia Nagoski·         The One Thing – Gary Keller and Jay Papasan·         The Choice – Edith Edgar Follow and subscribe to our podcastApple: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/the-resilience-movement/id1493036606?uo=4Spotify:  https://open.spotify.com/show/5IqQe2AcH9d9NHVP46K328If you want to create a better life and be able to overcome challenges instead of being debilitated by adversity than you are in the right podcast, your host Donna Moulds has a wealth of experience in overcoming adversity, pushing herself beyond what she thought was possible and coming out the other end more resilient, more confident and with a zest for living life with purpose and passion.Donna has resiliently bounced back from 3 Divorces, domestic violence and a breakdown after her Son was incarcerated for the first time in 2017 after his ICE addiction took over his life. Episode NotesSeason #5, Episode #7TraumaCollective TraumaThis chapter was going to be called “When you don't heal your past, it bites you on the ass”. Instead it's a more appropriately titled “Trauma” and I am very passionate about this chapter, all that I have learned from my own experiences and other research from real experts such a Brene Brown, clearly proves how we must heal trauma if we want to move into the future with our hearts and minds wide open. Trauma can be deep inside even if you don't see it and feel it all the time, if you haven't healed it it's still there and will come up again and again until you do. From my own experience it comes up when you least expect it. One of my friends once told me that the Universe will only give you what you can handle. To be honest I never really saw how the collective trauma had accumulated over time until a really big event in 2009 and then another significant event in 2017. When I look back I have had many significant events that I had ignored the process of healing and at a time where I was dealing with some challenges it all came up at once, that also led to overreacting to an event that may not seemed significant but it was again the collective trauma that comes up and compounded. And never forget Resilience is accessible to everyone!Book picks for the month·         Burnout – Emily Nagoski and Amelia Nagoski·         The One Thing – Gary Keller and Jay Papasan·         The Choice – Edith EdgarFollow and subscribe to our podcastApple: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/the-resilience-movement/id1493036606?uo=4Spotify:  https://open.spotify.com/show/5IqQe2AcH9d9NHVP46K328If you want to create a better life and be able to overcome challenges instead of being debilitated by adversity than you are in the right podcast, your host Donna Moulds has a wealth of experience in overcoming adversity, pushing herself beyond what she thought was possible and coming out the other end more resilient, more confident and with a zest for living life with purpose and passion.Donna has resiliently bounced back from 3 Divorces, domestic violence and a breakdown after her Son was incarcerated for the first time in 2017 after his ICE addiction took over his life. Episode NotesSeason #5, Episode #6The Power of ForgivenessForgiveness is a gift you give yourself - Tony RobbinsForgiving myself set me free from so much of my pain and whilst the pain is part of my past you have to be able to heal that pain, most importantly it set me free from Shame and Guilt, two of the most debilitating emotions we can burden ourselves with. Brene Brown talks about the difference between the two and her research has revealed so much that I could really resonate with. In her Blog from 2014 she shares shame is focused on self, and guilt is focused on behavior when we feel shame “I am bad” Guilt “I did something bad” so imagine when you compound them, that's a really toxic burden to hold internally.A Forgiveness process is one of the most powerful actions you can do for yourself. To forgive can release you from pain and suffering, you can regain your authentic self with forgiveness. Forgive yourself and set yourself free and then forgive others to allow yourself to be free from pain, judgement, resentment and bring yourself into the present moment rather than keeping yourself shackled to the past. I hope you enjoy this little snippet. Resilient Dating - Here are some tips for surviving online dating

What qualifies me to speak on this?I'm single in my 50's,I'm dating,I have tried multiple dating sites,I have had terrible experiences,I have had wonderful experiences and made friends,Ive done the work on my self and healed from my past,I know I am enough, I love myself, I trust myself, I am worthy of the best relationships that 2 people can create.Dating in 2020 is challenging, how do I know this?  Well I'm single and on the dating roller coaster, yes it really can feel like a roller coaster for both men and women. Not only have we had lock downs this year, which meant you haven't been able to go on the typical coffee date, movie or dinner date. You have had to get creative and have Zoom dates and Face time, get to know each other without physically meeting for some in different states. So how do you stay resilient whilst dating, here are some really key ideas to staying true to yourself and keeping your sanity and dignity.Be yourself - If you start out being yourself you re more comfortably and  open and can share yourself and find out more about them. If your photos are current and real you are saying here you are, this is me. Be authentic in the way you speak and describe yourself, what you like, what you don't like and what you want in your future. If you are adventurous then share what that means to you but if you are not adventurous and you are trying to impress this will come out later.Don't be afraid to ask for what you want, if you are sure what you want then maybe its time to take he time and write down what you are looking for and what you need.Learn these 4 beautiful practices;Self Love - I am enough, I am who I am and I accept myself and love myselfSelf Worth - I am worthy, worthy o love, worthy of respect ad worthy of a loving relationshipSelf Trust - I trust my decisions, I listen to my intuition, I do what is right for the greater goodSelf belief - I can do this and I can put myself out there in an authentic way and trust the process DO NOT Tolerate bad behavior and DO NOT behave badly - having boundaries is really important and also understanding what your expectations are for a relationship, friendship or hookup (if that is what you are seeking). Know what your big values are and be real about them, if your main values don't align then their will be conflict, for example if Family is a high value to me but not to the other person that can be an issue (not always) so it needs to be discussed. In my opinion Smoking is bad as it doesn't support health and well-being so I wont even go on a date with a smoker.Be OK with being alone for now, as it's not being alone forever.

Episode #5 with Nathan Hawken - Letting go of the outcomeWe all strive for things, outcomes and hopefully set some audacious goals for our life, career and future success. Sometimes we don't get there and we struggle to understand why we failed or why we just don't have the drive and tenacity to make things happen.I must have 1 Million DollarsI must have this new thingI must be able to get out of bed at 4am as that's what successful people do.But when you ask someone why they must have the THING they often cant answer other than to say that's success. Defining what you want in life is important, setting the goals is necessary and taking action is the key. Then just do what you know is working and let go of the outcome, let go of the obsession and just keep taking the action, you will get there. If you do want a successful business is that really about 1 Million dollars or is it about something bigger than dollars, is it about service, is it about the experience?I hope you enjoy Nathan and his beautiful lesson on letting go of the outcome and getting what you desire.

Learning to unlearn is not easy but it is possible.Throughout our lives we learn how to do things, how to behave, how to interact, how to do a task, how to parent, how to cook and so much more. We can arrive at a place in our lives where we no longer want to do things a certain way not because it was wrong and sometimes because we realise it doesn't serve us anymore. We then have a conscious awareness we want to change and sometimes we don't know where to start to make the change. As the saying goes "You don't know what you don't know" Relationships, we want them to be more loving, more open and have more intimacy, a greater level of respect and love. If you haven't developed this to the level you want you may have to unlearn some old habits and learn new ways of being.Family, we want more joy and fun and adventure in our family but were never shownBusiness, we don't want to hustle, we want business to be congruent with our goals and be able to be inspired not burned out.Career, to be working in a job that feels inspiring and you are doing what you are passionate about, not just existing for a paycheck or the security because that was learned.

Beliefs shape what we do how we live and what we think and can hold us back from our true self. Research shows that our beliefs are formed at different stages and we can identify even if they have been formed pre birth. 0 - 7, 8-14, 15-21 and further research has indicated 22-27 is also an imprint stage. Another way to look at when beliefs are formed is 0-11 Childhood experiences, 12-21 Adolescent Experiences and 21 - today are your Adult Experiences, take a look at these times and ask yourself what beliefs were formed?Beliefs around Family, Money, relationships and so much more is imprinted on us or missing from our beliefs, I am enough and I am worthy are beliefs we form. At times it important to challenge the beliefs that don't serve you and change your beliefs if they don't align with you.As coached both Nathan and I know that beliefs are one of the most important things not only to identify what the belief is, but where and when was this belief created and do they serve me anymore, are they true? Our beliefs can create a STORY!!!!In this episode Nathan gets you to ask yourself some powerful questions to open your awareness, I hope you enjoy this episode as much as I did.

We were 2950ft up and it was certainly cold and windy but you can see how many people have been touched by the way as they have left their mark with rocks that looked like mushrooms my Mum said. Here is a brief video https://youtu.be/mXnWLUG6KCs

Zabaldika to PamplonaThis was a really short day as I listened to my body and was able to take some time to feel better. After finding a massage therapy studio across from my accommodation  I took advantage of what was on offer and had a leg and foot massage, it was the best decision. Later that day I was able to enjoy the sites of Pamplona and some lovely food and wine before getting a good nights sleep and starting my journey again the next day.

I had already walked almost 100km and it felt so surreal to be doing this journey. After walking more than 26km I found myself at this amazing Church at Zabaldika up a steep driveway, after getting freshened up and resting for a while we shared a meal and a wonderful blessing in the church where we shared our stories of why we are walking The Camino.

It was nice to stop at a Cafe and get a coffee and fresh croissant  (oh the croissants were mouth watering).I'm looking forward to good res  and a new day exploiting along The Way.

The snowball effect of Covid-19 will never be forgotten.I hope you enjoy listening.PS: we had some technical glitches so I apologise for a little static throughout this episode.

The feeling of gratitude can bring a sense of peace or joy but gratitude can never bring you anger. Having a gratitude practice doesn't have to be complicated it can be as simple as thinking about 3 things you are grateful for before you go to bed at night and wake up and say thank you for something.Having a journal that you write in can help you keep a daily practice of being grateful for what we do have rather than being focused on what you don't have. In this episode I talk about how I brought a gratitude practice into my life back in 2009. My practice of waking up and being thankful before I check my phone or do anything else.  Thank you for the good nights sleep, thank you for the warm blankets and thank you for the home that keeps me safe. It doesn't have to be complicated just simply gratitude and you can always find something.Being grateful will change your perspective as no matter how little we have we have things and experiences to be grateful for. When you are in gratitude you can not be Angry, resentful or Sad. Enjoy, I am grateful that you are listening.

In this episode I talk about how you can develop your awareness and live a more conscious life, saying yes to those things that you are excited about and saying NO when you need to. Stop worrying about what other people think of you and start to live your best life.Using a new mantra "Your opinion of me is none of my business"Think of the analogy of driving a car, you don't stay looking in the rear vision mirror you glance in their occasionally to check on your progress. If you kept looking behind you (in the past) you would crash. Look to the future and build a great awareness of what you really want in life and set about to have your best life.Ask yourself - If you were truly happy and had everything you desire what would that be like, how would you feel, and what would you be doing differently? What would it look likeHow would you feel and What would you see
