C'è molta confusione intorno a cosa significhi Mindfulness. Vuoi sapere come?

When I was young my mother listened to old country songs and one of the songs had the chorus “if I knew then what I know now”. I thought that was rather silly because you could not go back to the past with the knowledge from the present. But it was an interesting thought and when I got older I remembered that phrase and more than once, I wished that I could go back in time and tell my past self what I had learned so she could avoid making certain choices. The things we secretly hope and dream of if we could just turn back time. How often have you said those words to yourself? The relationship we would leave or would work harder to keep. The words we would say or would keep to ourselves. The choices we would make or avoidWhat would we do if we could turn back time, go back to the past, do-over portions of our life, and especially, not make certain choices? But while we think about these things we also know they are just pipe dreams. There is no way to turn back time, to undo what has been done, or to re-do a choice or action. The past is a fixed moment in time. We cannot undo the past or go back to it and the only reason we would want to is because we think that somehow we could undo the lessons and experiences of the past and have a much different present. Just imagine if we had not said yes, or said no, made a different choice, or realized how important the choice we were making at that moment, which we thought was inconsequential, was actually one of the most important choices of our life. If there is anything that is immovable, unchangeable, and set in stone in our lives, it is the past. There is nothing we can do to change what once happened but there is something we can do to change the effect the past has on our life in the present. We cannot time travel to fix the past but we can use our timelines to shift what is happening today and to create transformation. The secret to time travel, to turning back time, to knowing something new, is in understanding timelines.Timelines are the linear expression of an energetic imprint. A timeline is the outcome of an energetic event that sets us on a specific path and that path and its energy determines the frequency, vibration, and flow of our life's energy and all of its connections. The timeline continues on autopilot, sometimes like a runaway train or an avalanche that wipes out everything in its path, until we decide we have had enough of that and we want something different. Then that timeline starts losing energy until it comes to a full stop – it has run out of energy road. And now we have two choices – to restart that time line with a rebirth (renaissance is one word people like to use) or to create a new timeline. We can always restart an old timeline by going back to it but it doesn't feel the same, everything is off balance and different, and we feel stuck and out of place. It's like going back to your high school reunion and remembering all of the old battles and rivalries and realizing how much you didn't like those people then and they are still not very nice to you. You try to talk to them and there is no energetic connection. That timeline is ended and there is no bringing it back. read the rest of the article on the blog at enlighteninglife.com

Occult artist Micki Pellerano and I talk about the classic book THE MYSTICAL QABALAH by Dion Fortune, one of the primary classics of 20th century occultism, and often one of the first books that people interested in magic start with (and are often bewildered by). How does the book hold up, nearly a century later? Who was Dion Fortune, and how do the facts of her life change the context of the book? And what, actually, is Qabalah after all? This was an epic, excellent show that will be of interest to anybody interested in Qabalah, Western magic or spirituality in general. Learning to unlearn is not easy but it is possible.Throughout our lives we learn how to do things, how to behave, how to interact, how to do a task, how to parent, how to cook and so much more. We can arrive at a place in our lives where we no longer want to do things a certain way not because it was wrong and sometimes because we realise it doesn't serve us anymore. We then have a conscious awareness we want to change and sometimes we don't know where to start to make the change. As the saying goes "You don't know what you don't know" Relationships, we want them to be more loving, more open and have more intimacy, a greater level of respect and love. If you haven't developed this to the level you want you may have to unlearn some old habits and learn new ways of being.Family, we want more joy and fun and adventure in our family but were never shownBusiness, we don't want to hustle, we want business to be congruent with our goals and be able to be inspired not burned out.Career, to be working in a job that feels inspiring and you are doing what you are passionate about, not just existing for a paycheck or the security because that was learned.
Listen to some great advice from Danielle and Jimmy as they talk about life throwing curve-balls and creating the life of freedom they have always desired. After living a life of trading time for money and money for time and then going on to creating a balance for the future, ensuring their family stays strong in times of great adversity. I loved it when Danielle talked about mindful musings, a practice she has shared with their children to be able to express themselves and understand their emotions when they go through difficult times.Home schooling and how that puts a strain on families, Danielle put her foot down and took the pressure of her Son, making it OK if you don't get it all done. Being able to take a breath in the school holidays to re group and learn from what has passed. Jimmy openly talks about being made redundant for the 4th time in his working life and making the decision to join Danielle in their online business, create a laptop lifestyle so they can travel and enjoy the freedom of working from anywhere in the world.I loved their definition of what it means to be resilient and how you can build a family unit to be stronger in times of challenge and change. Sharing great tips like being vulnerable, talking about it all no matter how uncomfortable and not blaming the other person, I hope you enjoy listening as much as I enjoyed interviewing them both, Thank you Jimmy and Danielle it was a please to have you on the podcast.

Dr. Mick Krasner, Professor of Clinical Medicine and Professor of Clinical Family Medicine at the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry, practices primary care internal medicine in Rochester, New York. Dr. Krasner has been teaching Mindfulness-Based programs to patients, medical students, and health professionals for more than 20 years with a keen focus on the connection between health professional well-being and the effectiveness of the healing relationship. He has shared his work in peer-reviewed publications, scientific assemblies, workshops, visiting professorships, and intensives throughout the world and he describes his personal mission as centered on compassion in medicine- for the self and others, envisioning a personalized health professional-patient relationship where healing is truly bidirectional, care goals are mutually derived, and the uniqueness of the clinical encounter reflects this central act of mutual high regard. Not a personal failing, but the result of a number of systemic and structural forces that place unrealistic demands on our health professionals, upwards of 50% of physicians experience significant indicators of burnout, starting in medical school. Dr. Krasner discusses the growing role of mindfulness-based practices in assisting physicians and other medical professionals in coping with the many stresses of their profession. Dr. Krasner outlines some of the foundational tenets of mindfulness-based thinking as well as his experience across the globe in engaging his colleagues around this very unique brand of The Helping Conversation.

“…If you’re down to your final dime, can’t decide what else to buy to be happy You don't need a credit card to give your heart the beauty of the world..." ~ Peter Mayer Well the hustle and bustle of Christmas has come and gone, and it’s the end of another year. Snowflakes are gently falling outside. The presents have been opened. The children are happily playing in the other room, and you sit with the one you love, sipping hot chocolate reading from a book with Currier and Ives prints, in front of the crackling fire, and breathe a deep sigh of contentment. Sounds like a Netflix Christmas special doesn’t it? So your world doesn’t look like this? What is it about this scene that appeals to us? Aside from the peace and quiet that is finally here, what about this setting draws and attracts us like moths to a flame? Is it the beauty? Beauty is an interesting thing. The preferences and specifics can vary and change to a certain degree, but I think it’s safe to say that we all long for and appreciate “Beauty”. Sunsets and rainbows, scenic landscapes, ocean views, rich forests and placid lakes all speak to us in a language of the soul. Music and nature sounds, like gently falling rain, babbling brooks, whippoorwills, chickadees, crickets and spring peepers all soothe and calm us with their beautiful melodies. Story and song, paintings, quilt-work, sculptures and woodwork, jewelry and even finely designed clothing are all a reflection of the natural world around us and, help bring purpose and meaning into our every day lives beyond just making a living so that we can put food on the table and a roof over our heads. As best selling author Joyce Carol Oates says, “Art is the highest expression of the human spirit”, and if that’s true, as artists, and appreciators of art, if you will, when we create and enjoy beauty, we are leaning into our highest selves and therefore transforming into better human beings. There’s so much we could discuss about the power of beauty to help us transcend to new and glorious heights, but for the sake of time today, let me just encourage us each to take time to seek, express, appreciate and cultivate more beauty into our lives. The journey begins by recognizing the beauty of the world, and in truth, the entire Universe before us.
