Join us for a journey to the depths where we percolate in the rhythms of change. We honor the shifting seasons, from equinox to eclipse portal, and explore how these cosmic events shape our inner and outer worlds. As we steep in the astrological new year and embrace spring's bloom, we navigate the ebbs and flows of life. Maya shares her experiences with Pluto squaring her sun, embodying the energy of death and rebirth, while Elle grapples with Saturn's influence on her south node, prompting her to move away from what's held her back. Together, they reflect on how these shifts influence familial and romantic relationships, career paths, and our understanding of self. Time flies, and we confront the fleeting nature of reality, recognizing the illusion of control we often cling to. We discuss the many timelines we live in, the universe's constant expansion, and the impermanence of everything. Through the wise words of oracle card pulls, we gain perspective on the month's themes and revelations. As always, thank you for being part of our sacred listening community. Welcome to this month's episode, sweetest listener! Join us as we delve into the depths, per ushe. In this episode, we grapple with the strange fear of actually getting what we want. We ask ourselves the question, "Why does it feel scary to actually GET the thing I've been saying I wanted all this time?" We emphasize the importance of gratitude for the present moment and the acceptance of ourselves in the here and now. Riding the wave of an unexpected tangent, we find ourselves in a fresh introvert chronicle, unraveling the difficulties we face in amplifying our voices in a world that often drowns out the soft and the subtle. We share their mutual challenges in taking up space within social interactions and the frequent instances when our soft-spoken voices go unheard. The conversation touches on the uniquely un-opinionated presence we often bring to our interactions because of the wide spiritual lenses through which we see the world. Thank you for being here as we navigate the twists and turns of the human experience! So much love for you, sweet community, and until next time, VORTEX OUT! Hi, Vortex fam! This week, Elle's sweet, authentic, and wise soul sister Kyla is back! In this conversation, we explore the art of cultivating a secure attachment style in a world where the only constant is change. We reflect specifically on the dynamic nature of our identities, acknowledging times past when we did NOT embody secure attachment styles, and the relationship challenges that manifested as a result. Thank goddess for the gift of learning from past missteps. We extend an invitation to you, sweetest listener, to contemplate the meaning of secure attachment and emotional availability in your own life. Join us as we grapple with questions like, "What does secure attachment mean to me?" and, "Is healthy detachment synonymous with secure attachment?" To the best of our abilities at our current levels of self-discovery, we share our insights and perspectives on these big concepts with the intention of reaching a more profound understanding of the intricate dance between attachment and detachment in the tapestry of our lives. We're BACK for Q&A part twoooo! Last week's questions were too juicy and good for us to leave all the rest behind, so today we sit with 3 more of our favorite listener questions and in true vortex fashion, dive into DEEP (like, 30 minutes long kinda deep) contemplations around each one. We speak on: Our advice to someone who is looking to step more into their divine feminine amidst this masculine world. (This answer is nottt what you think it's gonna be). Our advice to someone dealing with the college transition: adjusting, homesickness, and missing family. We dig deep into the vault of nostalgic college memories for this one! Our favorite fruits and what they symbolize to us. We close out this visit to the vortex with a resonant card pull from Kim Kran's Wild Unknown archetype deck. We love you! Hi, gorgeous listener! Today, we give you one of our FAVE Q&A sessions in vortex history. Your questions were just *too* good. We are proud of ourselves for getting through 5 out of the nearly 20 submitted! (Don't worry, Part 2 is already in the works.) These are the juicy questions we answer: How does one find the sweet spot between the spiritual and material worlds - or in other words, the 5D and the 3D? Do we think about death often? What are our current contemplations around it? When was the first time we thought about death? How can we be fully, unapologetically ourselves while staying mindful of other people's triggers? (We dig into this one big time by questioning whether others' triggers are our responsibility to begin with. TEA!!!) How do we break the conditioning that worthiness is tied to romantic partnership? Which Taylor Swift song defines the overall vibe of 2023, and which one describes how we're feeling about 2024? Swifties, buckle up! We're so grateful for your amazing submissions. Thank you for co-creating this with us. It means the world. Hiii, Vortex! Today we're having a big ol' chat about having a secure attachment style to life! (Attachment theory is a psychological concept coined by psychoanalyst John Bowlby in the 1950s which outlines how your bond with your primary caregivers sets the foundation for how you navigate relationships throughout life.) We kick it off by telling you about Maya's current state of exhaustion, and realize real time that it's because her soul is living in three different timelines at once... the present moment, the one where a certain outcome she's waiting to hear about does come to fruition, and the one where it doesn't. Damn. Then, we pop on our psychologist hats and dive into attachment styles as they relate to our current mega life changes and unknowns - emphasizing the secure attachment style we're both striving to embody. Elle then tells us about the Icarus energy she's actively summoning into her life (she's wanting to fly closer to the sun than ever before outside of the comforts of home). We casually pivot to the tattoos we want before two perfect oracle cards summarize this ethereal trip to the Vortex. OH VORTEX, join us for the THIRD ANNUAL capturing of Elle's sobriety journey. These episodes are sacred time capsules that move us to LOUD gratitude as we share with you. WE GO THERE this ep: We capture loud words on the wisdom of expression BENEATH words: to feel is enough. We contemplate feeling truths in our bodies as opposed to trying to understand them intellectually. We remind ourselves that “no” is a full sentence. We ponder: what if our vices were looking at the sky, petting dogs, and hugging strangers? Elle puts words to the temptress alcohol is, as this go around the sun gifted profound confrontation of these energetics. She details the level of fantasy she's entertained - an *almost* renegotiation with her devotion to the sober path. She's committed, but she honors the temptation. Join us as we hold the WHOLE picture. And so. much. more. THERE'S A MAN IN THE VORTEX Y'ALL, AND WHEWWW THIS IS A DIVIIIIIIIIIINE CONVERSATION. Prepare yourself to be welcomed into this week's container by Jeff Wexler's sultry tones. Elle magnetized this remarkable soul into her romantic realm, and today we capture their story (and Maya meets him in real time - EEP). Together we GO THERE: we capture the origin story of Jeff and Elle's soul contract (in this lifetime, hehe) we talk about the similarities between vulnerability and DEATH we dive into what we think happens when we die we have a casual chat about the quantum realm another casual chat about enlightenment & the "end of separation" we glean lessons from nature's complete lack of urgency and force (& remember that we ARE nature) and so... much... more. Vortex, join us in welcoming a true earth angel, Nicole Weber. Elle met Nicole in music school and as fate would have it, they've since reconnected and fallen into the depths of sisterhood as their spiritual expansion journeys hold much divine synchronicity and alignment. In this sacred interview, we dive into: Contemplations spotlighting LOVE (how Nicole experiences and practices this divine phenomenon) As a soul raised with a lot of duality (Christian mom, Jewish dad), Nicole voices the beauty in being raised in the gray. She is SEASONED in her ability to hold multiple values in the same breath. Maya recently landed in a space where “unconditional love” was questioned as a value, so we share our independent philosophies and LAWD does it move us. We ask: Is all conflict just an attempt to find love? Maya's lens of neutrality comes to visit and we learn a new epic SAT word: magnanimous . We put words to the absolute portal that is vulnerability - voicing gratitude to be alive during a time when our culture is actively honoring this concept. We compare the archetypal energies of feminine flow and masculine structure/strategy/logic to our society's fielding of vulnerability. We explore the similarities between excitement and anxiety. Nicole invites us to try on the love lens as opposed to the fear lens. We share a VERY ethereal story-time where Elle experienced Nicole's face shape-shift right before her very eyes. AND SO. MUCH. Hiii Vortex! This week, we're joined by psychic medium of astronomical proportions, Katelyn Poland (yes, the Katelyn who gave Maya the reading that's featured in our 3 no's and a monkey episode!). We have the privilege of learning the ins and outs of what it's like being able to communicate fully with spirits, angels, guides, and the dead. We dive in by asking Katelyn how she discovered her gifts. She shares that they were present since childhood, but working with a mentor and entering motherhood in 2019 were the catalysts for her to claim them fully. Since then, she's been on a journey of unlearning what her religious upbringing taught her about psychics and mediumship being taboo, and continuing to navigate being a human who happens to be in constant communication with the other side. Katelyn tells us what it's like to channel at such a high level and how she creates boundaries with spirit by shutting down communication when necessary. She shares her belief that everyone has channeling gifts and abilities, and affirms Maya's recent claiming of her own psychic gifts. She then casually channels Elle's guides, who share that her truth REALLY wants to be expressed through musical offerings. This ep will blow your mind and crack your heart open in awe of just how thin the veil is between our world and those beyond - and we know you'll love and appreciate Katelyn as much as we do.
Welcome back to the Vortex, sweetest listener! Today we are talking about an all too familiar topic: ANXIETY. We kick it off by sharing the witchy synchronicity that led us to this conversation... hint hint: soul sister telepathy is becoming a very real thing. We dive the heck into it with the remembrance that our body is SO WISE, and anxiety is one of its many ways of communicating that something is out of whack. Maya reminds us of her lifelong journey with anxiety and the Mount Everest she climbed, overcoming daily panic attacks between the ages of 5 and 10. Elle speaks to her beef with pharmaceuticals and reaching for band aid solutions instead of root cause healing. As always, there's nuance to it all. We take a deep look at the way society urges us to bypass our feelings in service of pushing forward, and how anxiety-causing that inherently is. We express our deep belief in the importance of taking time to listen in, feel, and address anxiety as holistically as possible (and IF that includes bringing Western medicine into the holistic mix, that's PERFECT). We round it out by discussing what it looks like to design lives that are as anxiety-proof as possible. Epic card pulls bring us home! We love you! Hiii, Vortex! What an ep this is. Today, Elle's recent deviation from a daily spiritual practice is our launching pad. We get into the nuanced lessons this time of "getting off track" has taught her, and the pressure we put on ourselves to remain militantly consistent with our practices. Specifically, we examine what a "spiritual practice" actually is - IS it sitting on the mat in meditation every day? Or can that definition be expanded? We also speak to our cyclical nature as humans and practicing self-forgiveness in seasons where consistency wanes. A rather large and wild tangent also inhabits the dead center of this episode, in which we unpack cancel culture, particularly around the recent Colleen Ballinger scandal that's taken the Youtube world by storm. We wrap it all back around by returning to nuance as the centerpiece of it all, and conclude that nothing - from committing to a daily spiritual practice to cancelling a Youtube star - is black and white. Wheee, thanks for coming along for the ride! We love ya! Vortex out. This week, we're welcoming THE ICONIC Leya Van Doren to the Vortex and woooosh, are her words RICH with meaning, wisdom, and deep consideration. Leya is one of the best-spoken and most insightful people we have ever had a conversation with and we are buzzing with excitement for you to hear this convo! IT'S SO GOOD. We start by diving into Leya's recent move to Washington, DC, and marvel at the way cities create a microcosm for the full spectrum of the human experience. Then, we get to hear Leya's uber-unique origin story growing up in a 10-person family with a Soviet mother and moving to an ashram at age 14. She speaks to her deep roots in music, homeopathy, and spiritual practice (particularly in the yogic & Hindu traditions). We hold deep contemplations around the commercialization of spirituality and the rich Indigenous & cultural traditions that the modern world has separated so fully from their source. Leya believes that nature is our greatest teacher when it comes to returning to the purity of these spiritual practices, and she shares her most postent lessons & learnings from nature as an herbalist! Welcome back to the Vortex! Maya is in a season to behold, so we created some space to do JUST THAT. This entire year has held a huge pivot in her life and business, and now that she finally feels like she has arrived on the other side, it felt like high time to put words to it. This is the first time that Maya is sharing the full story of letting go of her identity as "business coach" and stepping back into the work she came here to do - deep healing & spiritual development work that reminds women that they have the power to be the creators of any reality they choose. She shares the details of the pivot, how she made it happen, and the magic that's unfolding on the other side like sobriety (& the body coming along for the ride in general), coming into the identity of "psychic," and feeling more grounded than ever in her gifts and leadership. Bless this season of ARRIVAL! We hope this episode inspires you. Xoxo! Vortex, welcome to THE holistic conversation about all things alcohol! We are both in very interesting seasons of reevaluating our relationship with this substance, so of course we had to capture it on the mic. Maya is listening to her body's loud call to take a break from drinking, and is almost a full month sober as of the release of this episode! She shares about how she feels and what it was like to make this decision from a deep place of self-love. Elle is fielding her first bout of temptation in her 3 years of sobriety, and puts words to how she's working through it. We break it all down, dig deep, and come to the epic conclusion that everyone's journey with alcohol is completely different and NOTHING about sobriety, sober-curiosity, or choosing to drink is black and white. As long as you're bringing mindfulness to the conversation, we believe it's all gonna be okay. We love youuuu! Hiii, Vortex! Elle is BACK from a 3-week family trip to Japan and whewww, she's got stories babes. We take a beat of gratitude for being back to our regularly scheduled programming of being forced (in the best way) to sit down with each other every week and put words to our feelings in real time. Maya starts us off by sharing how this epic Pisces Full Moon (which is also blue and super - whoa dude) has been working on her via physical ascension symptoms, exhaustion, and big ol' revelations about riding the waves of life with as little resistance as possible. Then, we get into Elle's tales and takeaways from Japan - tiny napkins, foamy soap, bidets everywhere, clean escalators, and so much more. We of COURSE can't help but put a big fat spiritual spin on all of it, marveling at the ways Japanese culture radiates reverence, respect for self, each other, and the planet, devotion, and kindness. Maya is moved and inspired as hell. We hope your soul parts are lit up by these glorious and poignant lessons from Japan! Love youuu! This week, we're welcoming a SUPER special guest to the Vortex: Elle's sweet soul sister, Kyla Romero. As you'll soon discover, Kyla and Elle share the gift of walking through the world with a high level of WONDER for this life and all that it holds - and sometimes, it sends them into a spiral of pure existentialism, lolz. We love them for it! They immediately have a full-stop moment for how meta it is to have a conversation for the sake of presenting it to an audience. That sends them into some profound musings on social media, parasocial relationships, imposter syndrome, and enoughness. They touch on how not only valid but essential it is to listen to your body when a school or work situation isn't right for you. They also hold space for a PROFOUND reflection on the ways spirituality can become detrimental when we only focus on the "5d," AKA the love and light. Kyla beautifully reminds us that light needs shadow, and shares vulnerably about how she discovered this through the process of grieving her mom. This is a chat filled with accents, giggles, big love, and big realness. We love you! Today in the Vortex, we're welcoming back a precious member of our soul fam: artist, vocalist, and yogi, Jamie Schmidt. If you heard Jamie's first episode with us (#62 if anybody wants a refresh!), you know the magic that this being embodies. We start the conversation with Jamie's absolute glitch-in-the-matrix story about manifesting a front-row experience at a Lana del Rey show. Your jaw will be ON THE FLOOR when you hear how it all went down. We bask in the lesson that when you surrender the how, you give the Universe a glorious opportunity to fill in the blanks. Then, we get into Jamie's story with Ayurveda and holistic health. They share with us the POIGNANCY of their first consultation with an Ayurvedic practitioner, and we marvel at just how holistic, all-encompassing, and root-cause driven this modality is. Jamie gives us a crash course in Ayurveda and shares some small ways we can all walk its slow and methodical road towards bodily equilibrium. We hope these tips plant fertile seeds for you on your individual holistic health journey! WE'RE PODCASTING IN PERSON FOR THE 3RD TIME EVER IN VORTEX HISTORY!!! Welcome to this love-bomb-giggle-fest-5,000. A few weeks ago, your favorite soul sisters came together in Elle's hometown of Albuquerque, NM to chat about the most important lessons we've learned from one another. We start off with a share from Maya about her spontaneous detour to her home from a past life, Santo Domingo Pueblo, en route to ABQ (if you haven't listened to episode 22 explaining this entire past life tale and how it ridiculously intersects with Elle in this lifetime... you gotta). She reflects on the trippiness of experiencing a place your soul has been before, but in another lifetime. Woosh! Then, we get into the lessons we've learned from each other. Elle speaks to the ways Maya has helped her heal the codependent frequency by holding space without taking sh*t on as her own. Maya speaks to the ways Elle teaches her to flow with life and allow, surrender, trust, and marvel in the mundane. We think this quote sums up our sweet lil twin flame love story: "So many things had to align for us to be the way we are an interact the way we do." Ohhh, the balm of this soul sister friendship. Hi, gorgeous Vortex! Today, we're coming in hot with the astro report of the CENTURY (Elle did RESEARCH... what a time to be alive). We know approximately 7 things total about astrology now and we're about to tell you all of them. Buckle the heck up! This Venus Rx in Leo is the season to reflect on LOVE (if your exes are coming out of the woodwork too, you are NOT alone lolz), so we decided to chat about the root of ALL love we call into our lives: self-love. This astro transit is bringing up reflections on self-esteem, personal freedom, joy, painting the canvas of your life any which way you desire, and loving yourself so authentically that it inspires others to do the same. We reflect on our own personal definitions of self-love and where we're at in our relationships with ourselves in this season of life. We invite you to ask these questions with us: How can I love myself more? How is this way I love myself showing up in my relationships? What can I do within my own inner landscape to attract more love to me? We LOVE you extra in this sweet season of loooove.
Hey, gorgeous Vortex Fam! Today, we're talking about all things TRAVEL: our personal takes on travel, what it means to us, how it grows us, the realities of travel anxiety, hot takes, and our dream destinations. We kick it off by putting words to the duality between being little introvert girls who LOVE their homes more than just about anything - and the deep knowing that leaving our physical homes via travel and being forced to find home WITHIN is one of the most expansive things we can do for ourselves. Maya tells us of her lifelong struggle with flying and plans for her upcoming trip to Santa Fe, NM. Elle shares about the family trip to Japan (!) she'll be embarking on this August. We conclude that everywhere you go, there you are. Finally, we share our bucket list travel destinations!!! Hi, gorgeous vortex fam! This might be our new favorite episode title ever, JUST behind "Pollinate Me, Bitch." This week, we're recapping a rather insane story that began with Maya pulling the "No!" oracle card TWICE (and seeing a monkey in the most ridiculous, serendipitous way, which you'll hear about in the ep!). This series of signs prompted some confusion and concern, so she sought out an emergency psychic reading with the out-of-this-world Katelyn of Soulful Expressions. In this convo, Maya gives us aaaall the juicy deets on her reading, which we don't want to spoil before you've heard it for yourself, but these are the main takeaways: Your inner child wants to tag along with you on your journeys, honey. Don't forget her. Invite her in. Honor your body's signals, make appointments for health concerns even though it's uncomfortable, and listen to your deepest knowing. Block or unfollow the people you're energetically bothered by in your social media spheres like, yesterday. Protect. That. Energy, babes. A THIRD NO CAME OUT... but it held a totally different meaning and context after the reading. Woooosh! We hope you enjoy this ridiculous, witchy, psychic-y, epic storytime! Hey, vortex fam! Your fave soul sisters are back together this week for a conversation all about letting yourself be a BEGINNER. We have both had recent experiences as total beginners in different capacities (Elle in a new job and Maya playing a new sport, hah), and they grew us and asked us to get to know ourselves better in big and small ways. Bringing our brains and bodies to brand new experiences has catalyzed expansion, brought us face to face with the choice to embody our highest selves in real time (or not), and shown us courageous and capable parts of ourselves we didn't even know were there. We conclude that confidence and self-belief come through action... and letting yourself suck at something so you can learn how strong you actually are when you come out the other side of it. Oh, we also decided we're getting matching tattoos in this episode. What do you think?! We love you! Hey, sacred listener! This week is a BIG week because... Elle comes to the mic SOLO for the first time in vortex history! The stars did not align for your favorite soul sisters to converse in real time this week, but we'll be back for our regularly scheduled togetherness next week! For today, we are celebrating Elle's courageous, vulnerable, creative heart. This episode is essentially a solo book club sesh on Elizabeth Gilbert's "Big Magic." As you'll hear, these words and ideas have been WORKING on Elle. These 37 minutes are an ode to the creative heart that lives in within each of us - and the magic we have access to at our fingertips in every moment should we choose to let it in. Join as our passionate Pisces girl places us in contemplation around the beauty of creativity and sacred inspiration. We're back for some more ATTACHMENT CHATS babyyyy! Should we trademark that...? This week, your fave soul sisters Maya and Elle dive back into the concept of attachment. This time, it's in the context of romantic relationships. Elle has been having some mega-realizations stemming from a bit of a romantic situationship she's been in over these past weeks, and they're JUICY. We get into detachment vs. attachment to romantic partners, being a whole human in partnership with another whole human vs. codependency, the difference between a soulmate and a twin flame, and more. Maya said some ishhh about the quantum field that caused Elle to respond, "I feel like I'm on drugs." In true Vortex fashion, it was a vibe, it was a ramble, and it contained many a golden nugget about relationships that we hope will land beautifully in your heart. We love you! This week in the vortex, we're pondering the concept of attachment. We unpack Buddha's classic quote about attachment being the root of all suffering and ask... do we actually believe that? A huge giggle fit about how opposite our lives are right now and a big storytime from Elle about the ways unemployment has her looking at her own relationship to attachment serve as our launching pad. We dive into our personal musings on when attachment is harmful vs helpful, how attachment can work against us in the manifestation process, and how suffering miiiight just help us learn some of our most valuable lessons. As usual, everything is everything and we don't know anything, but that's okay. We're so happy to have you along for the ride. Hey, sweetest Vortex. Sooo, Elle quit her job - and we are celebrating with a big ol' ramble on the beauty (& scariness) of interrupting our own patterns. Elle gives us the beautiful details of what it feels like to enter this fertile void of transition - and we speak on how wild it is to make your life a totally blank canvas ON PURPOSE. We chat about some of the magical, mystical ways Elle wants to paint her canvas, and also leave all the room in the world to hold the uncertainty and questions. We touch on releasing the need to be understood fully by family and society as a whole when making non-traditional career moves and veering off the beaten path. In the second half of this convo, we explore a broader deep-dive about the power of noticing and consciously shifting our patterns. If the Universe is sending you the same situation over and over, that's your sign to PAY ATTENTION. Life will try to teach you the same lesson again and again... until you get it. Are you listening loud enough to notice and make shifts where you're being asked to? We would LOVE to have you join us for a single Meet Your Magic session! Upcoming sessions include: Voice & Throat Chakra Activation (June 11th), Human Design with Erin Panzarella (June 18th), and How to Channel (June 25th). TRIGGER WARNING: Miscarriage, abortion, infertility (not things we've personally experienced, but these are topics that come up in this conversation!) Hiii, beautiful vortex. Today, we're talking about WOMBS! Yes, wombs. Sparked by Elle's recent time spent learning from Zach Bush MD who opened a contemplation with her Fluorescence women's circle on the womb, this is a reverent conversation on the metaphysical portal that exists within people with wombs. It serves as a reminder of our infinite potential to create magic of all kinds. We dive deep into our thoughts on birth, the full life that exists within the womb whether a human baby is actually carried to full term or lives inside of it at all, and the way the womb symbolizes our divine power to create. This launch pad lands us in tangents on the healing power of animals, releasing the need to be understood, and, unsurprisingly, a quick episode of the Introvert Chronicles as Maya & Elle compare notes on their parallel experiences as introverts. We love you
Hello, beautiful Vortex fam! Today, we're continuing our death & rebirth special with some potent magic that Maya has been fielding in her world: a big ol' return to her soul's ultimate truth and a remembrance of the work she came to this life to do. Elle reflects on her current state of affairs, too - shedding layers, releasing what no longer serves, and leaning into RADICAL trust that the next phase of the journey will present itself in perfect time. As Maya exits the womb, Elle enters it, and they create their classic soul sister yin/yang. We love to see and hold every piece of it. Thank you, sweet listener, for riding the wave with us as ALWAYS. Our signature co-led program, Meet Your Magic: A Sacred Vortex Experience begins TOMORROW, 5/28/23! We are beyond ready to open this sacred circle of love, sisterhood, connection, transmutation, and healing. In case you missed it, here's the breakdown of our 6 weeks together! Then, we dive deep into the stories of our encounters with Jayson Tatum (Olympian & NBA All-Star), Jonah Kest (famous yogi), Camila Cabello (you guys know her), Aaron Rodgers (uber famous quarterback), and Natalie Portman (you know her, too!). Helloooo, Vortex. This ep is... perfectly, beautifully messy and imperfect. Tune in as we struggle with our words, lose our trains of thought left and right, have big trouble bringing our inner thoughts to the outer world, and tucker ourselves out trying. Laughing throughout it all, we start off with a mini homage to two of our favorite podcast icons, Dax Shepard and Monica Padman of Armchair Expert. Then, we get into a giggle fit over how introvert-y we were feeling on this day, and how oxymoronic and actually hilarious it is to be two deep introverts hosting a podcast together. Though we struggled, this episode is ultimately turned into a love note to the dreamer who is brave enough to declare their greatest visions and move towards them regardless of how long they may take to come to fruition or how they're perceived along the way. Join us as we declare some of our brightest and bravest dreams like being recording artists, millionaires, boss ladies and so much more. Eclipse season is truly shaking up this snow globe we live on, and thank god for that. We love ya. Our 6-week spiritual transformation program starts May 28!!! Join us inside Meet Your Magic here. Helloooo, Vortex! Today's episode is all about how we're all casually dying & being reborn all the time. Whaaat? Don't worry, not literally. We're talking about the mini identity/mindset/energetic deaths & rebirths that come along with being a human who changes with the seasons. We start off the ep by reminding you that the doors to Meet Your Magic: A Sacred Vortex Experience, our 6-week container designed for deep healing, remembrance of the divine soul you are, community, and getting back in the driver's seat of your own soul-led life ARE OPEN!!! Lots of juicy behind-the scenes about our co-creation process & how cool marketing actually is can be found in this ep & the 2 previous. Sign up at the link below or DM us for more info! Then, we use a card pull as our launching pad, which directly into the current Scorpio Full Moon Eclipse viiiibes. Guided by the stars, per usual. We proceed into a divine, epic ramble on the beauty and magic of death & rebirth cycles. We get into the funkiness of the world telling us to "know who we are," when we're creatures who change like the seasons - ever evolving and shifting. We honor the importance of our words as the seeds we plant to create our own realities again and again - and affirm that at any moment we can renew our vows to remember that this life is a beautiful ceremony of our own making. We encourage our Vortex community to embrace a *casual* death of an old self this week to honor the eclipse! As always, we love ya like heck. Thanks for being here. Welcome back to the Vortex! In this week's episode, we kick it off by reminding you that we've created a 6-week program! Meet Your Magic: A Sacred Vortex Experience will be officially opening its doors for enrollment on May 2nd, and we want you in this portal of magic. This 6 week journey is about committing more deeply than ever to your spiritual journey, finding community along your spiritual path, being witnessed as you clear out the sh*t that's holding you back, and having loving space to expand rapidly into your soul's most authentic truth. We touch on the special kind of magic that happens when you choose to invest your time, energy, and finances into a container like this, and we want EVERYONE to know that feeling!!! DM us the word "waitlist" to be the first to know when sign ups open. Then, we get into the meat of this week's convos. Inspired by Elle's recent group Zoom call led by Matías de Stefano (casual), we dive into a rabbit hole on the Universal Laws, particularly Law of Compensation and Law of Attraction. We sit with the specific idea that maybe it's not the money, the relationship, the job that we're actually trying to manifest, but the things that come as a result. We gloriously remember that manifestation gets to be simple, that we're doing it all the time, and that it's our choice to elevate our vibration to the level of the very things we're manifesting at any moment. This is our birthright and our ultimate manifestation power! Who is coming along with us to harness it?! This is a special one. Lots of manifestation lightbulbs and sighs of relief at how simple it actually is. We love you. It's episode #66 sooooo... naturally our numerology-loving brains HAD to take this opportunity to talk about our personal DEVILS. Alt title: New Levels, New Devils Babyyyy. We preface the conversation by speaking to the big nerves that come up around letting ourselves be seen in our messes without necessarily having a neat conclusion or perfectly crafted lesson to learn from them just yet. We also bring up the poignant reminder that you don't have to go out of your way to FIND a devil (AKA problem/shadow/thing that needs to be healed in your life) - they will always knock at the door when it's time for them to be addressed. If it's not actively asking to be healed, take a deep breath and enjoyyyy where you're at, baby! You'll know when it's time. Then, we dive into the trenches. We put some vulnerable AF words to the biggest devils in our current realities, from social media (particularly Instagram) to masculinity and MEN in general to Maya's relationship with alcohol. We round it out with quite possibly the most freakishly accurate card pull in the vortex to date. We hope you enjoy this trip into the depths with us today, and that it invites you to lovingly explore your own devils, name them, and create space for them to heal in their own perfect timing. Hey Vortex fam! Today's episode is all about becoming friends with FEAR - the emotion that we have so deeply normalized as the showrunner of our lives - and learning to stop putting it in the driver's seat. In typical Vortex fashion, we open with an unrelated storytime about Maya's room at her mom's house being a casual portal to another dimension. #justvortexthings. Then, Elle shares a parallel experience that occurred during her adventures with ketamine therapy We get into the meat of it with Elle reading us a few pages of the PROFOUND “Mastery of Love” by Don Miguel Ruiz, which has recently been shaking up her world in the best way. That launches us into a philosophical AF conversation around FEAR the way it's woven into the very fabric of our human condition. We examine fear as a bit of a “design flaw” in this modern society where 99% of scenarios are not actually life or death, it's nothing more than an unhelpful sensation in the body. We explore the ways fear causes us to hold ourselves back, we ask ourselves the BIG question, “What are we even afraid of?!” and reflect on the idea that right now just *might* be the greatest time ever to be a human alive on Planet Earth. We also address the ways we judge our own fears and offer reframes that help us to give our natural fear instincts grace, and riff on the actual vibrational frequencies of certain emotions from lowest to highest as illustrated by the Emotional Guidance Scale (which we highly recommend Googling). WOOP WOOP. Another epic, existential-ass trip to the vortex. Y'all, it's happening. WE ARE IN PERSON FOR THE SECOND TIME IN VORTEX HISTORY, BABY!!! Welcome to the #1 weirdest podcast on the internet (you'll understand why that's our new niche and #brand once you listen to the intro of this ep...lol). Ahhh, how to even put words to such a chaotic, giggle-filled, magical conversation? We start off with a brief recap of our in person time together celebrating Elle's birthday and Elle coming to work with Maya at Miami Sound Choir where Maya plays piano (her fave part of her musical life right now). We reflect on our original theme music, We Shall Be Known by MaMuse, after having the glorious gift of getting to sing it together in person WITH all of Miami Sound Choir. What in the magic?! Then, a wild game of Truth or Drink ensues (AKA your fave soul sisters answer 4 questions in the span of an hour and tangent to the absolute high heavens). The question cards launch us into... The riskiest fashion choice we've made (tangents: body dysmorphia, starting a conspiracy theory about the patriarchy fueling women's body image issues via pant sizing being the most variant measurement scale on the planet, how we throw away all of our mail, where does all the trash go?!?) Our guilty pleasure music/songs (tangents: unlearning 'guilty pleasures' because all is worthy if you love it, Maya's past as a ZUMBA queen, Elle's inability to recall choreography for the LIFE of her, college a cappella sets, Rihanna's super bowl halftime show, how freaking violating, idiotic, and alcohol-centric reality TV-shows are) Monogamy vs. polyamory (tangent: reflections on the purity of loveeeeeee and ceasing to perpetuate old non-serving ideologies around partnerships) ARE YOU A TOP OR BOTTOM?! (tangent: loving on the internet's hated of the pillow princess archetype BAHAHA) We round it out with giggles so big our abs ended up being sore, a card pull, and of course, loads of bubbling gratitude. WE LOVE YOU. COME JOIN THE GIGGLE FEST. Helloooo, Vortex! This week, Maya & Elle, your resident astrology lovers (note: NOT astrology professionals, lol) interpret the hugeness of Saturn's transition into Pisces after three years in Aquarius. This transit creates a big emphasis on TRUTH, and your soul sister co-hosts share how that theme has been resonating with them in all areas of life. We share about big relationship truths coming out, big business truths making themselves known, big soul truths saying hey, and big health truths asking for attention. Maya shares about her recent adventures advocating for her own health as she navigates chronic migraines and heart palpitations. We also field truth and authenticity as THE most magnetic way we can show up in this world, and seeing ourselves truthfully as a great act of self love. How is the theme of truth showing up in your life? Join us in this ep to explore your own truths and what areas of your life might need some truth serum. We love ya! Oh sweet vortex, may we ignite the collective manifestation that this profound story spreads like wildfire. Meet Jamie Schmidt, a stunning non-binary soul who Maya + Elle crossed paths with (and fell in love with) in music school. We recount our origin stories with one another, reflecting on the operatic oddities we endured in our conservatory-esque education. Jamie reflects on their performance roots, noticing a parallel to their lifelong journey with gender dysphoria: “My experience performing has been me playing a character, who's playing a character… playing a man, who's playing a man.” They recount the way they've reckoned with sexuality vs. gender since the age of three, remembering the way they voiced, “I am a girl,” often in their youth. We deeply honor gender as the construct it is, overlaying the spiritual perspective that all labels are a veil to the mind - an attempt to organize this absurd and magical human experience. As Jamie perfectly says, "We're born into a world that's trying to predestine everything we do: name, gender, class, geographical location… don't forget you're the designer of your own life.” We also have the privilege of holding Jamie's story of being diagnosed with Crohn's disease and the liberating, gratitude-filled reframe they've taken on around their body's breakdown into illness. We bless the good, the bad, and the ugly of this life. May you drink in the magic with us, sweet listener. Welcome back to the vortex, sacred listener. This week we cultivate the forever throughline of this container - our relationships with our voices (we're two songstress podcasters after all). Elle takes the mic to share the latest and greatest evolution of her relationship with her voice with her singing soul sister Maya. "I'm JUST beginning to meet confidence...it's unreal to have a reverence for something inside of you." After a lifelong relationship with her instrument, a new steady, holy, reverence is settling into place. This episode is a portal into self-love and owning the gifts we're all born with. May these words set your heart aflame for the majesty of creation inside your bones. Vortex, today we are welcoming a super special human to the pod. Dr. Lauren Borden is here to chat about all things Human Design, leadership coaching, gene keys, plant medicine, GOD, queerness and so much more. WOW. This is a special conversation. Lauren starts us off with the sweet details of her work as a leadership coach. She describes leadership as a spiritual journey and her unique method of coaching corporate and entrepreneurial women to lead with their frequencies. Oh BOY do we get excited that she's facilitating these conversations in such traditionally masculine spaces. Lauren answers one of our favorite Vortex questions, “What is God to you?” in the context of her plant medicine healing experiences and WOOOO is it juicy. We all agree that God, Universe, Source, and Spirit (Guss, if you will) can be accessed from within and no chasing, forcing, or clawing for guidance is ever necessary. Lauren and Elle open a gorgeous dialogue on the ways their queerness and spirituality intersect. Tis a celebration of liberation. Finally, Lauren gives us her expert low down on Human Design. According to her, our HD is the unique and special way each individual is meant to show up in the world, and how when we operate in integrity with that, we heal the world. We also muse together about what a beautiful opportunity HD gives us to shed the ways the world has asked us to be. Welcome to the HAIR EPISODE, Vortex fam! Inspired by Maya's fresh chop, we used this episode to reflect on the spiritual significance of hair. Maya starts us off by sharing the story of her epic new chop, and how good it feels to release the weight of literal trauma that can be stored in the hair for years. We honor and hold space for the many different cultural traditions in which hair holds high spiritual significance. Then, we dive into the patriarchal connotations around hair and how they've conditioned us with the “long hair is beautiful, short hair is sassy/rebellious” narrative. We play with the idea of shaving our heads (!!). Finally, we proclaim our active intention to release the ambiguous beauty standards placed on us by society and honor how beautiful these physical forms are in their most inherent, natural state. We reclaim the beauty of our natural faces, the natural ways hair grows on the body, and that beauty gets to be whatever we decide. We love you! It's the 40 Days of Devotion episode! Our 40 Days of Devotion practice (or 180 days if you're a devoted QUEEN like Elle) got lots of love and interest over on the old ‘Gram, so we felt it was only right to give you the rundown of our reflections on what this practice means to us. We kick it off by sharing what devotional practice actually is and our individual definitions of it. Then we go down a rabbit hole about the conditioning that diet culture and s*x shaming actively bring into our lives as a means of keeping us from our own power and truth - and how devotion serves as an active rebellion to that. Elle reflects on how devotion reminds her that we are not our thoughts, and that in any moment we get to choose our own thought patterns and create our own stories. We offer the tangible tip of speaking your fears & negative thought spirals aloud to diminish their power. We end with a sweet invitation to you, our vortex fam, to join us in the daily devotional practice for 1 day or 40 and try on the ways it helps you return to your own deep power, wisdom, and peace. We love you. Hello, sweetest Vortex. Welcome to THE REFRAME EPISODE. Today, we're taking a step back and remembering what's truly important in this life. Your cohosts bring to the mic a sacred conversation about their mutual desire to slow wayyyy down in life, spend significantly more time listening in, and using rest and sacred pauses as direct rebellions against the way society asks us to stray from our own power. This episode invites us all to look within and ask, “Are we truly living life the way our souls long to, and if not, how can we take the steps to prioritize that more?” We share a baby step that we both adore to help start you off on that journey: the practice of waking up each day, blessing it as holy, sitting in infinite gratitude for the sheer miracle of being alive, and holding the sacred remembrance that we never know when that gift may end. We hold space for the acknowledgment that the sweet, slow moments of time alone with ourselves ARE the beauty of life, and how much richness there is to be found in the mundane. We also speak to unlearning diet culture and releasing conformity across the board. This conversation is a reclamation of our sacred, infinitely wise, quietly powerful, Divine souls. We hope it inspires and moves you as it did us. We love you! Hey Vortex! Join us for a riveting game of Would You Rather: Spiritual Edition. Lest you forget that we are game aficionados in the Vortex, we thought we'd create this special and silly episode to remind you! We simply cannot live without games and this felt like the perfect way to blend that passion of ours with the on-brand weekly witchy content you know and love. Join us for highly controversial discussions (lol) on Palo Santo vs. Sage, Astral Projection vs. Past Life Regression, Yoga vs. Meditation, and so much more. We also found ourselves in a soul-feeding reflection on the idea that even things that are not EASY can be done with an ENERGY of EASE. Also, Maya made a lot of Harry Potter and Star Wars references. We hope you'll giggle along with us in this one. We love you. Vortex, welcome the incredible Dr. Lida Fatemi! This woman is a TRUE expert in the realms of medicine, psychedelics, spirituality, and activism, and we could not be more honored to have her joining us for this conversation. Lida and our very own Elle produce a podcast of their own entitled Conscious Physician: Medicine + Psychedelics, but today we land in a conversation centered around Lida's spirituality. Growing up in Iran where practicing any faith or version of spirituality outside of Islam was extremely dangerous, Lida speaks to the journey of allowing her spirituality to be fully expressed. She walks us through her understanding of God, what it means to be of service, the Iranian revolution (good LORD you gotta hear her words about this), facing off with the addictive nature of technology in the modern world, her conscious life practices, and her beautiful coaching practice. This is a MAGICAL conversation with depths of wisdom that we know will serve us listen after listen. We can't wait to hear what you think. In today's episode, your fave soul sisters are chatting all things MANIFESTATION. Feeling inspired by Manifestation Babe's Epically Aligned 2023 workshop, Maya was called to bring some groundbreaking new manifestation insights to the mic so that we can all have fun playing with manifestation in the New Year. We chat about… -shifting out of the energy of “I need” and into “I want this for the hell of it,” which helps the mind & body exit survival mode and enter expansion in the manifestation process -the energy of being compelled versus obligated to take joyful action on our goals -the vulnerability of joy (never not relevant) -a GREAT metaphor for how silly we are being when we try to force our manifestations -inviting irrevocable trust in the Universe that we. are. being. guided. Sweet listener, we invite you to join us in a low stakes manifestation challenge! Taking what resonates with you from this episode, play around with manifesting something small and sweet this week, and let us know how it goes! We love you.
