Between 1962 and 1964, the Boston Strangler was labeled as the person responsible for a series of murders in the Back Bay Area of Boston, MA. The victims, ranging in age from 19 to 85, were sexually assaulted and strangled, often in their homes. Albert DeSalvo, a handyman with a criminal history, eventually confessed to the killings, though doubts about his guilt linger due to inconsistencies and lack of physical evidence linking him to all the crimes. DNA evidence later tied DeSalvo to the final victim, but some experts believe more than one person may have been involved in the murders. The case remains one of the most notorious in American criminal history.Listen to new monthly episodes wherever you get your podcasts! True Crime Episode 1 - Boston Strangler This article is about the murderer. For the 1968 film, see The Boston Strangler (film). For the 2023 film, see Boston Strangler (film). The Boston Strangler is the name given to the murderer of 13 women in Greater Boston during the early 1960s. The crimes were attributed to Albert DeSalvo based on his confession, on details revealed in court during a separate case,[1] and DNA evidence linking him to the final victim.[2] In the years following DeSalvo's conviction – but prior to the emergence of this DNA evidence – various parties investigating the crimes suggested that the murders (sometimes referred to as the "Silk Stocking Murders") were committed by more than one person.[3]

Albert DeSalvo was forced to watch his mother have her fingers broken one at a time. His father beat his children frequently and had prostitutes at the house. Albert never had a chance and he transferred his violence to female victims. Albert never served a day for the strangler murders, he was convicted of a string of rapes in the area. Desalvo was a stone killer and Boston would suffer because of his madness.A&E Boston Stranglerhttps://bit.ly/3FiVeG0

Psycho's and Sociopath's Albert DeSalvo the Boston Strangler
With St. Patrick's Day being tomorrow what better way to celebrate than with a beer and to watch Hulu's adaptation of The Boston Strangler starring Keira Knightley who portrays journalist Loretta McLaughlin. Reporters Loretta McLaughlin and Jean Cole were the journalists who wrote a four-part series on the Boston Strangler that connected the dots of the prolific murderer and gave the killer his title. The Boston Strangler case is a debatable one, was it the man they believed to be responsible Albert DeSalvo? Or were the killings the work of more than one man?
A severely abused child, raised in the depths of the great depression grows into a depraved sadist, that terrorized Boston in the early 1960's. The Boston Police were nowhere near finding the Boston Strangler, until he confessed. A sting of rapes conducted prior to the thirteen murders should have tripped Albert DeSalvo up, however his murderous rampage would not be prevented. There is so much more to the story, in fact did you know that the Boston Strangler escaped from prison and also sold woman's "chokers" from his jail cell? A remake of the movie "The Boston Strangler" originally starring Tony Curtis is beginning filming December 2021. The new movie reportedly stars Keira Knightly. The victims of the Boston Strangler-Boston Globehttps://bit.ly/3wnFXjTThe Boston Strangler-Tony Curtis, Henry Fondahttps://amzn.to/3085PV5The Boston Strangler Biography Channel A & Ehttps://bit.ly/3CU8MqL

On this episode, contributing reporter David Wright brings us the long criminal history of Boy 402, aka Albert DeSalvo, aka The Boston Strangler. Then Michelle San Miguel brings us an intriguing story about a world where some people not only hear music, but also see it and where even the words they see can have flavors and colors and smells. The neurological condition is known as synesthesia and more of us have it then you might think. Finally, producer Isabella Jibilian takes us to Rose Island where the Island's manager Mike Healey gives us a tour for our continuing series, Window on Rhode Island.
From 1962 to 1964, the Boston Strangler terrorized the Boston area, praying mostly on older and vulnerable women. The police eventually connected the murders due to the signature methods that this predator used. Many of the women were strangled with a piece of their own clothing, and the killer tied a knot, and often a bow. 11 murders were eventually connected to the Boston Strangler. A man named Albert DeSalvo eventually confessed to all 11 of the murders. But did he actually commit them? Join Mike and Morf as they discuss the infamous killer who became known as the Boston Strangler. Albert DeSalvo was undoubtedly a bad man. He was in prison for other crimes when he confessed to being the Boston Strangler. His other crime sprees earned him the monikers of "The Measuring Man" and "The Green man." But many people did not believe that DeSalvo was the Boston Strangler even though he was able to provide a lot of information on the murders. A fellow inmate named George Nassar has been looked at by many as the real perpetrator. And some people believe not all 11 murders were committed by the same person. In recent years DNA has shed some light on Albert DeSalvo's connection to the murders. But, for many, quite a bit of mystery still surrounds this case. This is Part 2 of the Albert DeSalvo case. For this episode, I have Brittany joining me to discuss our thoughts on the case as a whole as well as what we think is at play here. Was it nature? Nurture? A combination? Why?We talked lot about HOW someone would have been able to gain access to each of the victim's homes without a struggle. As if they knew the perpetrator or trusted them for some reason. But the victimology still doesn't add up for us. At least not if it was one killer.QUESTION FOR YOU: Do you think DeSalvo was the Boston Strangler? What about Nassar? Do you even believe that it was one perpetrator who committed all the murders? Share your thoughts with us!QUESTION FOR YOU: Do you know what Albert DeSalvo did for a living/as an occupation? If you are interested in ad-free and extra episodes as well as merch and other swag; think about joining our Patreon at Patreon.com/NVNpodcast for as little as $1 per month!Check out our website for sources and more - at www.naturevsnarcissism.com Until next time; stay inside, stay alive.

Albert DeSalvo was found guilty much after his death. Technology and science gave closure to his victim's families --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/themonstersofhistory/support
Between June 1962 and January 1964, thirteen women, between the ages of 19 and 85, were sexually assaulted and and murdered in their homes in the Boston area. In late 1964, a woman was attacked and almost assaulted, but the attacker stopped and said "I'm sorry" before leaving. The victims description of the man matched that of other rape victims in the area. That man was identified as Albert DeSalvo. He was arrested on rape charges. While in jail, DeSalvo admitted to another inmate that he was the Boston Strangler. His cellmate brought this information to his attorney, and he represented DeSalvo at his trial. When interrogated by police, DeSalvo confessed to the murders and gave great detail about each crime scene, details that were not shared with the public. Although confessing, there was not enough evidence to convict DeSalvo for the murders. Instead, he was convicted for several rape charges and sentenced to Life imprisonment. He was stabbed to death in prison in 1973. For the next 40 years, doubts about the Boston Strangler were strong. Many believed that there were multiple murders, rather than DeSalvo. Some even believe that DeSalvo never murdered anyone, but confessed for the attention. In 2013, new DNA evidence emerged from the Strangler's last victim. DeSalvo's body was exhumed and tested. His DNA and the DNA at the crime scene matched, debunking the theories and marking Albert DeSalvo officially as the Boston Strangler.
Episode #9 - The Boston Strangler Part Two - In this episode, the hosts take a closer look at the man who ultimately confessed but was never convicted of the crimes - Albert DeSalvo. Sherman and Wedge will explore the mind of the man who claimed to be one of the most notorious killers in history. DeSalvo was a dangerous person; he was a sexual predator, a con-man, and a thief. But was he a killer?
