This week on the Shetler Show we sat down with Conrad Ferla, who has been putting together the Battle of the Beach 7 surf contest. We got to go down to South County, RI and check out an epic nature walk, jumped in the ocean, got some food, then went back to Conrad’s barn to podcast. This episode is a fun one to listen to. Enjoy! Divisions include open shortboard, mens longboard, ladies longboard, grom shortboard open, grom longboard open, retro transitional, and single fin showdown. Today we spoke with Jason Chapman, owner of Charmcity Skatepark, and his friend Andy Gardner. In this episode of The Shetler Show, Anthony Shetler catches up with Rod James. Rod started skating with his twin brother and older brother, and has been skating for over 20 years now. Rod James tells Anthony why he didn’t take to traditional sports, but fell in love with skating. Rod and his brother were especially into art work, and loved seeing the skate deck graphics. After moving to Cali, Rod James (who thought he was always gonna rep east coast only) started working in the skate industry. Rod goes into exactly why he was “feeling it” in Cali, and why he decided to stay out there. Anthony Shetler and Rod James describe why skateboarders can connect with each other all over the world, simply by noticing that the other person has a skateboard. Rod James with works with several brands in skateboarding, and actively looks for ways to help the skateboarding industry.
