As someone who focuses on practical execution rather than just mindset work, he reveals how he helps clients bridge the gap between strategy and results.
Bubbly is an understatement. She is bouncy, beautiful and ultimately driven by a love for her business. Her second child. Listen as this Tuscola woman talks about working at the outlets, always wanting to be at work over school, following what she excelled at over what she envisioned for her future, scaling down the dream of a family of five to one, managing a home and business with a commuting husband, not liking to rely on others for help, the constant cycle of adjustments and caring and conversing over selling and the bottom line. Her raspy voice, love for talking and obvious zest for life made for a compelling and easy conversation. I'd like to thank this episode's sponsor Illini Pella Windows & Doors of Champaign. Well…that wasn't very good, was it? England had made a steady start to life under Lee Carlsey, but our man at Wembley Jack Pitt-Brooke called them ‘abysmal' as they crashed to a 1-2 defeat. Belgium boss Domenico Tedesco could have been in trouble too, his side were being played off the park by Italy until Lorenzo Pellegrini was sent off and so the Belgians came back from 0-2 down to draw 2-2. Australia had a great result against China, Ghana didn't against Sudan (yes, we're casting our eye over the rest of the world now) but the worst news of the day is undoubtedly the announcement that Football Manager 2025 will be delayed until March next year. In this episode, Dr. Alex Stewart and Tyler Sanders read through chapters 2 and 3 of Revelation, focusing on the seven letters to the seven churches in western Asia Minor. These seven letters share a repetitive structure, influenced by Imperial edicts and Old Testament prophets. Each letter addresses a specific church, identifying Jesus as the speaker and revealing Jesus's intimate knowledge of the church, and offers either encouragement or a call to repentance.
Dr. Stewart and Tyler Sanders delve into the first chapter of Revelation, highlighting John's authority, the Trinitarian greeting, and Jesus' roles as a faithful witness, firstborn from the dead, and ruler of the kings of the earth. They explore the significance of John's suffering and his connection with the readers, and the importance of trusting John's message due to its continuity with early Christian teachings and the Old Testament.
Tyler and Dr. Stewart cover the final principle for interpreting Revelation. They discuss the importance of understanding Revelation in the context of the Old Testament and Christian theology, the theological significance of the book, and the limitations of understanding. In this season, Tyler and Dr. Stewart will analyze the book of Revelation by working their way through Dr. Stewart's book entitled, "Reading the Book of Revelation: Five Principles for Interpretation", and then reading through Revelation. In episode one, they introduce the first principle; the purpose of visions. It can be easy while reading Revelation to become distracted by the grand imagery, so what are readers actually supposed to take away from the apocalyptic visions in this book?

This week we're checking in on a couple of podcasts we haven't heard before, starting with a show about sex and sex workers. When adults use words like “naughty,” you know it's going to be lame. But then we check out a show about obese women dating. I'd rather be engaged in “blood play.” Doug from Who's Right takes a break from job hunting to join the show and talk about meeting your future wife at a strip club. After we get to know Pixie, again, we check out Swipe Fat and meet Alex Stewart. Alex had a rough week. She fell down on the stairs, she had her period, and her boyfriend asked her if she is planning on losing weight at some point. Sounds horrific. We also check in on Paddy Brokenskull, he's also had a rough week. But his show with Manny is fire! Then, a local newscaster gets StutJo to talk about Kevin Brennan, Chad Zumock is fighting with Ray DeVito and NLO, Louis CK does the bong hit transplant joke, Stuttering John's landlord shows up, and we all try to poke a dabbler. https://whosrightpodcast.com/ Support us, get bonus episodes, Vic and Hannah pics, and watch live every Saturday and most Wednesdays: http://bit.ly/watp-patreon https://watp.supercast.tech/ Learn more about your ad choices. Body composition changes are easier for some people to make than others. However, that doesn't mean that they're impossible for everyone else. In this episode, I'm discussing the barriers to success when we're trying to make a body composition change, including mental, emotional, and physical barriers. Things like our mindset, perception of time, a tendency towards emotional eating, and the blindspots in our nutrition audits. Barriers to Successful Body Composition Change Mindset Perception of Time The Scale Thought Distortions Emotional Eating Blindspots in your Nutrition Audit Inconsistent Weekends Barriers to Body Composition Changes When it comes to making body composition changes, we need to look at what's going on inside your body, not just what's getting reflected on the scale. In fact, the scale does not give an accurate look at body composition changes at all. We need to look at your lean mass to body fat ratio, waist circumference, and measurement changes to accurately see any body composition changes. Not thinking you have enough time to make a change is one of the barriers to body composition change. You can start positively changing your body composition in as little as ten minutes a day. It's all about making consistent changes that you can keep long-term. Emotional and Physical Barriers Thought distortions and should statements are another barrier to body composition changes. Thinking you should be following this diet, or eating in that way, or that you should have lost more weight by now is detrimental to making the changes you want. Emotional eating, or eating when you're not actually hungry, is another barrier, especially if you're eating over and above your total daily energy expenditure. Not taking account of your dietary blindspots during a nutrition audit can also be a barrier to body composition changes. I find that most people overeat dietary fat, eat too little protein, eat too much-added sugar, and eat too little fiber to make successful changes to their body composition. What are the most common emotions daily that you experience? What do you do when you have those feelings? What actions do you take? Let me know in the comments on the episode page. In This Episode What to look for in body composition [3:30] Why you need to identify your own limiting beliefs to body composition change [6:00] How ten minutes a day can make a difference to your body composition [10:00] The importance of being consistent with your body composition changes [12:00] Why the scale is not a successful measurement tool [13:45] The problem with thought distortions [15:30] Why you need to celebrate the positive things that happen to you [16:30] What emotional eating is [18:00] The dietary blindspots overlooked in a nutrition audit [25:00] How to make your weekends more consistent with your weekdays [29:30] Quotes “We have to start throwing away a lot of the old rules. The old rule that you need to do all this additional stuff to actually get a result. The rules that you can't eat certain things, and you have to follow a specific strength and cardio regime. We need to start going back to basics. We need to approach it as ‘work smarter, not harder.' We need to realize that every minute does matter.” [10:34] “We are creating our existence, our reality. We are making this happen. And we need to celebrate this.” [17:08] “If you are using emotional eating as a coping mechanism and eating beyond your total daily energy expenditure, then you are not going to have a positive body composition result. Not to mention that if you are having a lot of these negative emotions, you're probably going to have a higher stress response and more circulating cortisol.” [20:58] “Optimal body composition, even as we age, is available. There are simple tools to help you get there, and one of the most important things you can start thinking about is the physical, mental, and emotional barriers to success.” [30:51] “We can have tons of barriers and make these big stories about how it's so much harder for us, but at the end of the day, all we have to do is gain awareness for who we are authentically and uniquely. Then we put into place mental, emotional, and physical strategies to help you achieve what it is you are looking for.” [32:58] Resources Mentioned Learn About the Fit Dad Collective Join Transform Check out the full episode page here Find Life Coaching for Women Physicians Online Follow Dr. Ali Novitsky on Facebook | Instagram | YouTube Subscribe to Life Coaching for Women Physicians on Apple Podcasts Podcast production by the team at Counterweight Creative Related Episodes Episode 159: The Impact of Protein on Body Composition Episode 158: Transform Together with Dr. Mark Novitsky Episode 157: Fitness Talk with Dr. Alex Stewart
Men's health, fitness, and wellness need a different approach than women's. That's why, in collaboration with Dr. Mark Novitsky, this week's guest, and Dr. Alex Stewart, we are introducing Fit Dad Collective – a men's program for all aspects of your help. In this episode, we discuss the benefits of a men's program, and how it will transform your family and your relationship. The Benefits of Transforming Your Partner Develop a common language Inspire and motivate each other Catch a problem before it explodes Set a good example for the whole family Level the playing field About Dr. Mark Novitsky Mark A. Novitsky Jr., MD is a dual board-certified medical doctor, certified life coach/master coach, and proud girl dad. He majored in Health and Exercise Science at Wake Forest and completed medical school training at Lewis Katz Temple University School of Medicine. His private practice NOVITSKY MD boutique mind doctors was named the 2022 outpatient practice in Pennsylvania for their therapy-first approach and he has been named the top child psychiatrist in Maryland (2020) and Pennsylvania (2022). Following his child and adolescent fellowship, Mark was the medical director of one of Philly's largest non-profit mental health systems. While there, he sought additional training through the Beck Initiative - a partnership between Philadelphia's DBH and the Beck Institute, the birthplace of cognitive behavioral therapy. He later built upon this expertise with The Mind Firm Method cognitive coaching certification and master coach training. Mark has helped thousands of men in his career by helping them optimize their mindsets. He is excited to give fellow dads the mental tools to work through the many life stressors that may negatively impact their well-being. In his free time, Mark enjoys photography, live music, and walks outdoors with his wife Ali, two girls, and their labradoodle. Introducing Fit Dad Collective My husband, Dr. Mark Novitsky, joins me today to talk about our new program that he's running in collaboration with Dr. Alex Stewart. The Fit Dad Collective is for men to take an all-around approach to their health and fitness. Mark talks about some of the barriers men face when starting their wellness journeys and how to overcome them. We created a separate men's program because men's fitness has different needs than women's. Men also need to really understand the ‘why' behind the program, how it works, and why we recommend something over another. Fitness For All the Family Running the Fit Dad Collective along with my women's program, Transform means that you'll find a new level of support for and with your partner. Plus, not only are you supporting each other, but you're also setting a good example for your families. When both parents invest in their health, children are more likely to understand the importance of wellness, as well. We also talk about leveling the playing field. When both you and your partner have access to this information, you come to a new level of understanding between each other, catching thought distortions, and recognizing their stress patterns. Is your male partner going to sign up for the Fit Dad Collective? Do you have any questions about the program? Let me know in the comments on the episode page. In This Episode How to move past the intimidation to start a healthy lifestyle [5:30] What sets our programs apart from others [7:45] Why we created a separate men's program [9:15] The importance of understanding the ‘why' behind a decision [14:15] What happens when you support your partner in these programs [15:30] What impact we have modeling healthy behavior on our families [22:30] What happens when the playing field levels [24:30] What happens when you understand your partner's stress levels [26:30] Quotes “This is not CrossFit. This is not jumping into how much you can lift. This is understanding where I am at in this 43-year-old body. I might not be as capable as I was in my 20s, but I can still work on fitness. I can still feel better about myself. I can still make improvements.” [4:22] “Even though the tools were there, one needs to make that time commitment and understand what realistic goals are.” [7:40] “I think that the impact we have just be modeling it is so huge for families.” [22:58] “Exercising intimacy and the idea that showing up for ourselves individually will create more intimacy.” [30:43] Resources Mentioned Learn About the Fit Dad Collective Join Transform Check out the full episode page here Find Life Coaching for Women Physicians Online Follow Dr. Ali Novitsky on Facebook | Instagram | YouTube Subscribe to Life Coaching for Women Physicians on Apple Podcasts Podcast production by the team at Counterweight Creative Related Episodes Episode 157: Fitness Talk with Dr. Alex Stewart Episode 86: Restarting Your Relationship with Mark Novitsky, MD Episode 85: Reimagining Your Relationship with Mark Novitsky, MD
Physiotherapy is so much more than treating sore muscles with an ice pack. Physiotherapy looks at the body as a whole. It considers the entire person and their history, including their nutrition, exercise, and lifestyle, not just any diagnosis they have. Dr. Alex Stewart joins me to discuss physiotherapy, movement, and weight loss. Physiotherapy Looks at the Body As a Whole Nutrition Movement Recreational Activities Family Life All of Life's Demands About Dr. Alex Stewart Alexander Stewart received his Doctorate in Physical Therapy and Bachelor's of Psychology from Widener University. Alex has dedicated his years of treatment and consulting to athletes and active individuals from all levels of sport and recreation. He's worked with professional athletes in baseball, basketball, figure skating, track and field, weight lifting, powerlifting, CrossFit, and ballet. He specializes in applying high-level training and rehabilitation methods to the everyday athlete and middle-aged mom. Exercise Without Getting Bulky Dr. Alex Stewart, one of the practitioners we work with for our programs, joins me in this episode to clear up some myths about physiotherapy. But, more than that, we discuss how women can start taking their exercise and health routine more seriously without getting bulky. Men and women receive different targeted messaging. Women have too many social norms to abide by, constantly hearing about the latest weight loss trend or something their friend is doing, and may struggle to make the best choices for their bodies. How To Optimize Your Body Dr. Alex shares how to optimize the best version of you by finding out how your body best responds to nutrition, exercise, and other factors. We also talk about how to start taking exercise seriously to improve your health – and do so without getting bulky (which, let's be honest, is difficult to do unless you're doing some very targeted exercise and nutrition!). Dr. Alex explains why many of us fail to reach our goals – we're trying to do too much too fast. He recommends making smaller, more achievable goals and working towards them one after the other. It really is about finding joy in the journey rather than constantly reaching for a finish line that is almost impossible to find. How do you plan your smaller, more achievable goals? What do you need to do to optimize the best version of yourself? Let me know in the comments on the episode page. In This Episode How physiotherapy looks at the body as a whole [4:00] What women do that prevent optimal health [8:30] Why men and women hear different targeted messaging [10:00] How to optimize the best version of you [14:00] How to start taking exercise seriously [16:45] Why you need to start by setting only one goal to work towards [18:30] Why you have to enjoy the journey [21:00] The balance between what you want and what you have to give up [30:00] Quotes “That's going to be the next step in medicine as a whole. Looking at the patient for who they are and not just for their diagnosis.” [4:58] “I think the big thing that I want to bring in is being able to move better and feel better with the workouts you are already doing.” [11:29] “A big thing for me is, one, being able to empower you to be good at your traits. And then, two, being able to help you identify where there are some weaker points.” [15:34] “Don't compare yourself to somebody's highest form. Compare yourself to where you are now.” [17:58] “By setting these little goals and accomplishing them week after week, we're giving ourselves little dopamine hits. […] That's the big thing that we want to do. Set small, achievable goals, achieve them, set a little harder of a goal, achieve that, and that's all that we do for the rest of our life.” [19:17] Resources Mentioned Enrollment for the next Ultimate Jump Start™, May 2023, IS NOW OPEN!
