This time, we brought back a Bedford High School sports legend, former collegiate coach and friend of the pod, Ricky Perez. We start things off by reminiscing over memories of Christmas past, and our guest talks about his recent visit back to the Cleveland. Then, we get the sports talk fired up with #1 ranked high school football player committing to play for Deion Sanders at Jackson State.  That, somehow, triggered the LeBron vs. Jordan debate. A 2005 graduate of Temple University, Lynsey Grace returns as an assistant coach for the 2008 season. Grace spent last season as the assistant softball coach at New Bedford High School, where she primarily instructed the hitters and outfielders. In 2006, Grace was a member of the Philadelphia Force professional softball team and in 2005 was drafted by the Harlem Diamonds professional team. A four-year member of the Owl Softball team, Grace was a two-time Atlantic 10 All-Conference selection (2002, 2004) and was named to the 2002 A-10 All-Tournament Team. A multiple A-10 Player Of The Week honoree, Grace was also twice voted to the North Carolina All-Tournament Team. Grace is currently ranked second on the all time career home run list with 13. Grace was a member of Temple[apos]s first softball team to ever win the Atlantic 10 Championship in 2004. The 2004 team continued on to be the first Temple softball team to ever make a Regional appearance. She currently places in the top 10 for nine statistical All-time career hitting records lists at Temple. Of the nine she is tied for first in runs. Dennis Hopson is in his second season as the Men’s Basketball Head Coach at Lourdes University in Sylvania, Ohio. In his first season at Lourdes, and as a collegiate head coach, Hopson led the Gray Wolves to a 20-11 record and a tie for third place in the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference.   A native of Toledo, Hopson arrived at Lourdes with more than 30 years of basketball coaching, recruiting, and playing experience.   Hopson played in the NBA for five seasons.  He was the third pick overall in the 1987 NBA Draft by the New Jersey Nets, where he played for three years.  He also had stints with the Chicago Bulls, where he won a NBA Championship, and the Sacramento Kings.  Following his NBA career, Hopson played seven more years in Europe.   Upon retiring from his playing career, Hopson was a regional scout for the Philadelphia 76ers in 2003-2004 before moving into the coaching ranks.   He began his collegiate coaching career at Northwood University, where he served as an assistant coach for two years under head coach Rollie Massimino. Hopson spent 2009-2014 as an assistant coach at Bowling Green State University for coach Louis Orr.  Hopson worked one season as the head boys coach at Bedford High School and also served as the Director of Basketball Operations for the YMCA of Greater Toledo prior to his arrival at Lourdes.   Hopson was a standout player at The Ohio State University, where he was an All-American and the Big Ten Player of the Year in 1987.  He is the Buckeyes’ all-time leading scorer, tallying 2,096 points during his four-year career.  He also holds the school’s single season scoring record with 958 points in 1986-1987, a season in which he finished second nationally in scoring. A member of the Ohio State Hall of Fame Class of 1994, Hopson was named to the John Wooden Award All-American Team and was named a First Team All-Big Ten selection in 1987. Ohio Born Edward Buchanan became Bottega Veneta’s design directer after graduating from Parson’s School of Design in 1995, and was charged with building the brand’s ready-to-wear collection from scratch. He stayed at Bottega for six years before launching his own project; subsequent years saw him working with Sean Combs and Jennifer Lopez on their clothing lines. In 2009, he launched Sansovino 6, a contemporary collection with a focus on knitwear. Now officially Milanese, he consults for brands like Max Mara and Stefanel, in addition to fueling his personal projects. Ohio Born Edward Buchanan became Bottega Veneta’s design directer after graduating from Parson’s School of Design in 1995, and was charged with building the brand’s ready-to-wear collection from scratch. He stayed at Bottega for six years before launching his own project; subsequent years saw him working with Sean Combs and Jennifer Lopez on their clothing lines. In 2009, he launched Sansovino 6, a contemporary collection with a focus on knitwear. Now officially Milanese, he consults for brands like Max Mara and Stefanel, in addition to fueling his personal projects. On this week's episode we discuss the current state of the world with a local athletic director from Bedford High School and discuss what the school is trying to do for the seniors that didn't get to finish out their senior year the proper way. Also discussed in the interview is the possibility of baseball resuming soon and how playing the length of a high school game can change the game especially with a team having strong starting pitching. Coach Chris Cox from Hooligans Boxing & MMA joins the podcast as well and comments on the current dilemma that he is going through without his gym being able to open and how most of his members are fighting addiction, alcoholism, PTSD, ADHD, ADD, and abusive relationships. Chris also opens up about how his gym is a place where they are like family and how he cares about helping the individual and not the money which most business owners neglect to do. Lastly during the podcast we discuss the statement regarding the fact that Christian Yelich and Grady Sizemore could have been on the same path if Sizemore was healthy and someone on Twitter went a step further and stated Sizemore could have been in the MLB Hall of Fame if he was healthy. Coach Kurt Hines has been coaching high school football for over 20 years.  He has coached on both the east and west coast.  He was the Head Coach at Bedford High School in New Hampshire.  He led Bedford to the New Hampshire State Finals in three different divisions over a four-year period.
