Send us Fan MailThis episode of the Women's Power to Heal Mother Earth podcast, titled "We are Safe, We are Supported. Secure Balance," serves as a spiritual guide for navigating the transition between old and new vibrational frequencies. Maya Tiwari emphasizes that while the world may feel chaotic, a "living veil of light" has been established to support humanity's evolution. Here is a summary of the core themes and teachings:1. Navigating the "New Timeline"Tiwari describes a shift from the pristine nature of the mountains to the "complex density" of New York City, using this as a metaphor for maintaining a high frequency regardless of one's environment. The Bridge (4th Dimension): This is a transit point where we must soften our perspectives and allow for new possibilities.Alignment (5th Dimension): The ultimate goal where we experience Oneness and the immutable realization that reality responds to our internal state.2. Regulating the Nervous SystemA central practical teaching is the care of the "sacred staff"—the nervous system.Stillness: Tiwari urges listeners to breathe slowly and find the "stillness between breaths."Dissipating Negativity: We must honestly acknowledge negative energies rather than letting the ego pretend they don't exist. By giving these energies "permission to dissipate," we protect our fragile nervous systems. The Cha-Cha Metaphor: Progress isn't linear; it involves stepping back to renegotiate negativity before leaping forward.3. Galactic Support & The "Veil" of LightThe transcript introduces a "cosmic" perspective on Earth's current state:Galactic Allies: Civilizations like the Pleiadians, Arcturians, and Andromedans are credited with securing Earth's 12 stargates and recalibrating the magnetic grid. The Living Membrane: A protective "rasa" (essence) of platinum-gold and magenta light membrane now surrounds the planet. This intelligent veil responds to collective human energy, nourishing intuition and trust.4. The Collective DanceTiwari envisions a vast circle of "light bearers" moving toward the Bindu (the center point). No Ego, No Performance: This movement is about honest light and undulating in harmony with others to "dance the darkness into oblivion."Student and Mentor: In this new era, we are both the "protégé and the mentor," learning and guiding simultaneously.5. Discernment and CompassionThe episode concludes with a call to action:Compassion as a Plank: Every act of compassion builds the bridge that allows us to connect with those still mired in "darkness" or lower perspectives.Intuitive Truth: With the influx of "mega information" on social media, Tiwari advises using the resonSupport the showMay Peace Be Your Journey:Maya's approach transcends modern feminism by advocating for a holistic restoration of balance, moving beyond the fight for basic rights to reclaiming the innate power of the divine feminine, which includes procreation, forgiveness, nourishment, and cosmic creativity. Some years back, we gave a talk called "Can Atheist Be Spiritual?" (alas its gone now since the YouTube ban of 2025!) Anyway, there, I presented some non-theistic traditions like Advaita Vedanta, Buddhism, Jainism and of course, Sāmkhya to show how Indian spirituality is inclusive to all spiritual dispositions. i.e: you don't have to believe in "God" to make spiritual progress! In that talk, we also pointed out how the atheistic position is important for theists too since we must first reject the God of dogma, i.e the God of Religion, before we can move towards the God of Realization, the Living God. Now, a few years later, in this talk, we take a slightly different approach: understanding that the bhūpura is as much the cakra as the Bindu, I try to construct a non-dual, spiritually edifying view using the basic premises of scientific materialism. My claim here is that if we are to be honest materialists, we would be fully realized actually since this too, is a valid way like any other for realizing Mā!Support the showLectures happen live every Monday at 7pm PST and again at Friday 11am PST Use this link and I will see you there:https://www.zoom.us/j/7028380815For more videos, guided meditations and instruction and for access to our lecture library, visit me at:https://www.patreon.com/yogawithnishTo get in on the discussion and access various spiritual materials, join our Discord here: https://discord.gg/U8zKP8yMrM

As the founder of the Dr Bindu Menon Foundation and the innovative Neurology-on-Wheels initiative, she brings neurological care to underserved communities across India. Vikas & Dr. Menon discussed in detail about how the brain functions, the impact of digital overload on cognitive health, identifying signs of digital addiction, and practical strategies to protect and enhance brain function through lifestyle modifications. Here are some key takeaways:Your brain gets tired from constant screen time - Jumping between apps and scrolling endlessly overloads the part of your brain responsible for focus, leaving you mentally exhausted and unable to concentrate.Brain health has three pillars: sleep, nutrition, and exercise - Good sleep consolidates memories, proper nutrition (B12, iron, vitamin D) fuels your brain, and exercise builds a reserve tha protects you when you get sick. You're digitally addicted if you can't put your phone down - Checking your phone every minute, feeling restless without it, or being unable to finish reading a page are clear warning signs of addiction.Your brain needs downtime to work properly - Unlike the past when we'd watch one movie and discuss it, today's non-stop information doesn't give your brain time to rest and process memories.Beat phone addiction by finding real-world pleasures - Replace your phone dopamine with activities that make you equally happy. Writing, running, basically anything that gives you genuine satisfaction and engagement.About Vikas Singh:Vikas Singh, an MBA from Chicago Booth, worked at Goldman Sachs, Morgan Stanley, APGlobale, and Reliance before coming up with the idea of democratizing fitness knowledge and helping beginners get on a fitness journey. School Counseling Simplified Podcast

Play Episode Listen Later Apr 22, 2025 42:40

Welcome back to another episode of School Counseling Simplified. Throughout April, we're featuring guest sessions with experts in the field, and today's episode is especially exciting. I'm joined by Laura Filtness, M.Ed., a seasoned school counselor with over 15 years of experience and a passion for using picture books to support young minds in elementary settings. Laura's belief in the power of storytelling shines through her work, and she's also the author of the upcoming book My Brain Is Like a Puppy, inspired by her beloved therapy dog, Boss. In addition to counseling, Laura teaches yoga and Pilates, assists clients in home organization through Help You Dwell, and enjoys tackling renovation projects at home. She currently lives in Knoxville, Tennessee, with her two dogs, Brooklyn and Bindu. In this episode, Laura shares why picture books are such an effective tool in school counseling, both for proactive lesson planning and reactive student support. She talks about how a sticky note with a book title and a few theme ideas often serves as her simple yet flexible lesson plan. Having two or three potential discussion directions in mind allows her to pivot based on how students respond. This approach gives students space to take ownership of the conversation while making lessons feel natural and engaging. Laura also opens up about the organization system in her counseling office. For years, she used topic-based book bins and included printed companion resources stored in large Ziploc bags. After relocating to a smaller portable office, she adapted by placing hardcover books on a bookshelf and keeping thinner paperbacks in bins. Her adaptable system ensures that everything is accessible and categorized by topic for ease of use during lessons. We also dive into the logistics and philosophy behind running book clubs. While Laura prefers not to hold small groups during lunch, she makes exceptions depending on the group's purpose. For example, a community-building group might work well during a “lunch bunch,” but more skills-based work is best saved for a designated small group time. Laura uses both chapter books and picture books and recommends series like those by Jory John, Todd Parr, Brenda Miles, Michael Ian Black, and the Way Past series. She shares that Scholastic is a great source for ordering multiple copies of books and encourages creativity, like using different titles in a picture book series. Laura also supports teachers through book clubs at the grade level. She often gifts teachers with books, especially ones she finds at thrift stores, and partners with the school librarian to display themed books during staff meetings. Her collaborative approach promotes a school-wide culture of literacy and social-emotional learning. When it comes to building your book collection, Laura suggests tapping into your librarian's expertise by submitting a wishlist at the beginning of the year. She encourages the use of public libraries, which often allow you to request specific books. Other great sources include thrift stores, your counselor network, and the Dolly Parton Imagination Library, which offers families one free book per month for a year. While YouTube read-alouds are a decent backup, she stresses that nothing beats reading a book aloud in person. To keep track of her extensive book collection, Laura uses a cataloging system in Airtable. Inspired by Laura Driscoll, she created a searchable database of over 700 books organized by grade, topic, and type. This makes lesson planning more efficient and ensures she's covering a wide range of student needs. You can find links to her Airtable in the show notes! For new counselors who are just beginning to integrate books into their lessons, Laura offers encouraging advice: don't overthink it—just bring a book into your lesson and start asking questions. Prompt students with things like, “Have you ever felt this way?” or “What do you think the character learned?” Let students guide the discussion and make personal connections. If you've inherited a library, take inventory so you can assess which topics are covered and where you may need to grow your collection. Toward the end of the episode, Laura shares her journey of becoming a published author. She discusses the publishing process and the inspiration behind her new book My Brain Is Like a Puppy, a heartfelt project born from her experiences with her late therapy dog. She offers insight into what it's like to submit to literary agencies and the steps it takes to bring a story to life. Picture books, she notes, are typically around 600 words and should be thoughtful, concise, and meaningful. This episode is full of practical takeaways and encouragement for counselors looking to bring more creativity and connection into their lessons through books. Laura's insights make it clear that picture books aren't just for young children—they're powerful tools for every age. Kardama underwent austerities to gain the causeless mercy of the Lord, and when the Lord arrived there He was so compassionate that in pleasure He shed tears, which became Bindu-sarovara. Bindu-sarovara is therefore worshiped by great sages and learned scholars because, according to the philosophy of the Absolute Truth, the Lord and the tears from His eyes are not different. Just as drops of perspiration which fell from the toe of the Lord became the sacred Ganges, so teardrops from the transcendental eyes of the Lord became Bindu-sarovara. Both are transcendental entities and are worshiped by great sages and scholars. The water of Bindu-sarovara is described here as śivāmṛta jala. Śiva means “curing.” Anyone who drinks the water of Bindu-sarovara is cured of all material diseases; similarly, anyone who takes his bath in the Ganges also is relieved of all material diseases. These claims are accepted by great scholars and authorities and are still being acted upon even in this fallen Age of Kali. Still, Kosar is generally bullish, noting that he has been risk-on since early August and that he will feel even more strongly if technology stocks can push the Nasdaq through previous highs for several days, clearing the way for more upside from tech stocks. Then, we finish up coverage from FinCon '24, chatting with Marty Steffens, the SABEW Endowed Chair in Business Journalism at the University of Missouri, about the tension between "journalism" and "content creation," and what it means for individual investors who are looking at those different work products. Plus, Bindu and Prahlad Pant — the parents of FinCon rock star Paula Pant of the Afford Anything Podcast — give their first-ever podcast interview, discussing how their daughter came up with her attitudes about money and spending, before Paula herself talks about money attitudes for consumers now.

In the latest episode of Reimagining Cyber, Rob interviews Bindu Sundaresan, Director of Cybersecurity Solutions at Level Blue, about the evolution and significance of cyber resilience. Bindu, with over 20 years in cybersecurity, discusses how the field has shifted from a focus solely on prevention to a broader approach that includes resilience and recovery.Key points from the conversation:1.    Historical Focus: Traditionally, cybersecurity strategies concentrated on preventing attacks. However, the current threat landscape necessitates a shift towards resilience, acknowledging that breaches are inevitable.2.    Modern Approach: Organizations are now integrating business continuity planning and disaster recovery with cybersecurity efforts. This holistic approach ensures that operations can continue and recover swiftly after an attack.3.    Business Alignment: Bindu emphasizes that cybersecurity should be seen not just as a technical issue but as a business problem affecting overall operations. This shift in perspective helps align cybersecurity efforts with business outcomes and improves the strategic value of cybersecurity roles.4.    CISO's Role: For Chief Information Security Officers (CISOs), successfully integrating resilience into their programs involves understanding and prioritizing risks based on business impact. This requires effective communication with other business units and aligning cybersecurity investments with broader business goals.5.    Evolution of Cybersecurity: The conversation highlights the shift from compliance-driven approaches to risk-driven and resilience-focused strategies. This evolution is crucial for achieving digital resilience and 6.    Identifying Sensitive Data: Organizations must first identify what constitutes sensitive data for their specific context, considering regulatory requirements, business use, and industry standards. Without this understanding, investments in data protection might be misallocated.7.    Data Classification and Flow: It is crucial to classify sensitive data and map how it flows within and outside the organization. This helps in applying appropriate security controls and prevents unnecessary complexity and expense.8.    Continuous Review: Data classification and protection are not one-time tasks. Organizations need to regularly update their data inventory and classification as their data environment evolves9.    Incident Response and Resilience: Organizations should develop tiered recovery plans that prioritize critical business functions during incidents. Regularly updated tabletop exercises should simulate realistic and current scenarios to test response plans effectively.10.Cross-Functional Involvement: Effective incident response involves cross-functional teams, including IT, legal, PR, and executive leadership. Establishing what constitutes minimum viable operations helps prioritize recovery efforts and resource allocation during an incident.11.Evolving Practices: The goal is to continuously refine incident response and recovery practices to improve resilience over time. Embracing a lifecycle approach to security and resilience can turn digital resilience into a competitive advantage.Follow or subscribe to the show on your preferred podcast platform.Share the show with others in the cybersecurity world.Get in touch via reimaginingcyber@gmail.com

The focus of the Sant Satgurus, the Saints of India (Santmat, RadhaSoami, The Path of the Masters) is not upon constructing earthly temples, building organizational structures, or temples of the mind. Rather, they guide their students into entering the Temple of the Spirit. The Portal or Doorway to this Temple is within, at the Third Eye Center. Masters say: "An intense longing to meet the Supreme Lord during one's lifetime is the first and foremost qualification for Initiation. 'Seek, and ye shall find', is the principle'" (Kirpal Singh). Being properly initiated into the secrets of meditation -- the Mysteries of the Kingdom of the Heavens (diksha/deeksha) -- by a living Master is the beginning of the Inward Journey. Then, go and do the meditation. (Radhaswami)    "The tenth gate is the gathering point of consciousness. Therein lies the path for our return. The tenth gate is also known as the sixth chakra, the third eye, Bindu, the center located between the two eyebrows. This is the gateway through which we leave the sense organs' gates, enter the divine realms, and finally become established in the soul. We travel back from the Realm of Darkness to the Realm of Light, the Light to the Divine Sound, and the Realm of Sound to the Soundless State. This is called turning back to the Source." (Swami Santsevi Ji Maharaj)   "From time to time, great Saints come with the Grace of the Almighty, and They direct the lost souls and get them connected with the Almighty through the Sound, Surat Shabd, and guide them on the Path back. In India, there are several ways of worship. But the Saints have only three practices for getting back to the Almighty. They are Satsang *, Seva **, and Bhajan Simran ***." We're shaking things up on this episode of Breaking the Bias by exploring issues surrounding mental health, motherhood and conscious communication. Consciously Unbiased co-founder Bindu Lokre sat down in a studio in New York with Sandrine Marlier, a meditation teacher, Reiki master practitioner, model and author of the new children's book “Odette's Alphabet,” a story about handling big emotions. Bindu and Sandrine keep it real by diving into Sandrine's journey of the tools she uses to manage her anxiety and how to identify your triggers and create healthy boundaries. Their conversation also covers how Sandrine's daughter inspired her to write a book about mindfulness for children, and the biggest lessons adults can also take away from the story. --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/consciously-unbiased/message

"You must be ready to accept the possibility that there is a limitless range of awareness for which we now have no words; that awareness can expand beyond range of your ego, your self, your familiar identity, beyond everything you have learned, beyond your notions of space and time, beyond the differences which usually separate people from each other and from the world around them." (Tibetan Book of The Dead)   The Way Out Is Within according to the Masters... a kind of ascension of the soul, not outwardly in the physical realm up in the sky, but an upper ascent that takes place spiritually within the temple of the human body with eyes closed, gazing into the field of darkness lying in front of us. As Master Kirpal Singh once said, "That which sees the darkness without the aid of the physical eyes IS the third eye." What may eventually open up for us within are tunnels of Light and Sound that pass through many inner regions of consciousness. This is the interior voyage of the soul back to the Kingdom of the Heaven.   "How can one sit so still, repeat only holy names and think of God constantly? 'By falling in love,' answered serenely. 'Because when one is truly in love nothing but the Beloved can enter one's mind. So the secret of Surat Shabd Yoga and of mysticism,' she goaded, 'is not necessarily practice and more practice, but love. To be so devoted to one's Lord that nothing can stand in the way -- this and nothing else is the truth of Sant Mat,' Mataji stressed.'"   "So we should consider ourselves indeed fortunate if we have the pangs of separation of God Almighty and of our Master within, and we follow that Path and we do our meditation with love and affection. That way, if we do our meditation daily with love and affection, our mind also becomes purer, the burden of karmas also is lessened, and the mind, which is scattered all over the place, also gets focused within, and the attention gets focused within." (Baba Ram Singh)   "The tenth gate is the gathering point of consciousness. Therein lies the path for our return. The tenth gate is also known as the sixth chakra, the third eye, Bindu, the center located between the two eyebrows... We travel back from the Realm of Darkness to the Realm of Light, the Light to the Divine Sound, and the Realm of Sound to the Soundless State. This is called turning back to the Source." (Swami Sant Sevi Ji Maharaj).   "From one step to another the soul beholds strange things which cannot be described in human language. Every region and everything is utterly beyond words. What beauty and glory! How can I describe them? There is nothing here to convey the idea. I am helpless... Love plays the supreme part. It is all love. So says RADHASOAMI." Welcome to this week's True Fiction Project Podcast. Today, I have the honor of speaking with Sonali Dev, Best Selling Indian American Romance Novelist and author of her new book, The Vibrant Years. The Vibrant Years is the first book released by actress Mindy Kaling's new publishing imprint, Mindy's Book Studio. Sonali's book describes the everyday world of Indian American women. Using her storytelling magic to explore deeper questions about women's self-reliance and the fight for empowerment by underrepresented, often unheard voices.     Sonali talks about the way of life from past generations to her daughter's generations, noting the differences in choices available to each generation. Sonali discusses the brave choice immigrants make to migrate, whether the choice comes from wanting to seek adventure and exploration, or through necessity or tragedy. At the end of the episode, listen to an excerpt of The Vibrant Years, where we follow Cullie, Alisha and Bindu, three generations of Indian American women, discuss the modern dating scene and walk the precarious line between traditional expectations and twenty-first century aspirations.      IN THIS EPISODE:  [3:03] What did Sonali mean by the title The Vibrant Years?  [6:33] What does Sonali mean by the fact that women can now live the way they want?  [11:13] How would the story have been different if the characters didn't come from a family of immigrants?    [14:34] How are women conditioned to believe things and being told what to do?  [17:56] Was Sonali's book inspired by real-life circumstances?   [23:32] How her grandma's life and experiences played into her book.  [29:52] Why did Mindy Kaling choose to release this book under her imprint?  [32:23] An excerpt from The Vibrant Years by Sonali Dev.  KEY TAKEAWAYS:  This generation has the choice to do a variety of things that the previous generation didn't have the ability to choose from. The opportunities available are double-edged on if they are for the better or not.   An immigrant has an inherent value to adventure, a sense of restlessness, and a belief that they can change their life if they choose. Their hearts are in their choices.   An author's real-life experiences can often be found in their fiction writing. Many aspects of The Vibrant Years tied in to things that Sonali had gone through or that her grandmother's experienced.     Fiction Credits:  Story written and read by: Sonali Dev  BIO:  USA Today bestselling author Sonali Dev writes Bollywood-style love stories that explore universal issues. Her novels have been named Best Books of the Year by Library Journal, NPR, the Washington Post, and Kirkus. On Christmas Eve, the godly gifts of bindu and nada (the light and soundless song of the Self) are given to those who gather at the Tree of Life to be Christed. It is time to end the war with God, our alienation from our divine nature. It is the moment designated by Source to return to our Infinite Spirit. May we be the ones who at last bring the joy of Rapture to the world.

Why the Third Eye? Why We Begin Meditation at the Third Eye Center in Sant Mat… It's the Seat of the Soul

Why the Third Eye? Why We Begin Meditation at the Third Eye Center in Sant Mat… It's the Seat of the Soul! With the demiurgical or Kalistic systems of conventional religions there's always a sense of running out the clock, that though life is short we should be spending decades upon decades perfecting rites and rituals, or beginning at the bottom of the chakra system of the physical body and slowly working our way up, or waiting to develop super ethical purity par excellence till we become "worthy" before we can truly begin our spiritual journey. But demiurgical systems put the divine realm into an unattainable future state always out of reach of human beings who live lives here in the present-tense. The clock runs out! Not enough "time". The cosmic conspiracy wins again. For the Way of the Mystics however, it is never about "time" (kal) but the attention faculty of the soul, inverting our attention within powered by divine grace. Rather than a never-Kingdom unattainable, for the mystics the divine realm is a now-Kingdom to be accessed in the Living Present moment!   "If those who push you around say to you, 'Behold, the kingdom is in the sky', the birds of the sky would enter it before you. And if they say to you' that it is under the earth in the watery abyss', then the fish of the sea would enter it before you. But the kingdom of God is both inside you and outside you. Whoever knows himself will find the kingdom, and when you know yourselves, then you will be known, and you will see that you are children of the Living Father. But if you do not know who you are, you will dwell in poverty and you will be that poverty." (Gospel of Thomas, Saying 3, Zinner translation making use of both Coptic and Greek manuscripts)   Param Sant Tulsi Sahib: "Give up being limited to this habitation of skin. Adopt the practice of repeating the Name of the Supreme Being. Purify and train the attention faculty of your soul in meditation. By means of inner vision recognize the Abode of the Beloved, and unite with the current of spirituality, the Sound Current (Shabd). Penetrate through the Third Eye and arrive at the cave in the inner sky."   "The tenth gate is the gathering point of consciousness. This is called turning back to the Source."
