She talks about her first year at this new school, handling the pandemic under the shadows of the George Floyd murder, protests and trial. "It was important to separate facts from opinions. She went to Northern Arizona University in Flagstaff Arizona. Her first 2 years of teaching was in Phoenix Arizona at a title 1 school. I have taught 4th and 5th grade. Good Morning friends and family in Podcast land and Welcome to We The Scenario. I'm your host Tony Siona alongside The Incomparable Miss Maggie B. Today's discussion carries a lot of emotion. The mood of the country is all over the place. For myself I am appalled at the fact that my children, my wife and myself will and always have been targets for abuse from the same people that are supposed to Protect and Serve The Community. Rest In Peace George Floyd and thanks to all of our guest commentators Dr. Taylor, Patrick scott, Angela, Frederick Roots, Stacy Younger, Lejon Reese, Anya Hardeman, Justin Cala and Dwayne Aikens Jr.
The border has been at the front of everyone's mind as thousands of illegal immigrants continue to cross over undeterred everyday. But this isn't a moral or good thing. Children are being raped and killed in these inhumane conditions. ______________________________________________________________________________________________ FOLLOW ME ON: YOUTUBE: https://www.youtube.com/savsays ODYSEE: https://odysee.com/@SavSays:7?r=7q7r9u7psyViQaTpwcivrzmKS6CT1czF GAB: https://gab.com/SavanahHernandez INSTAGRAM: https://www.instagram.com/savwith1n/ ______________________________________________________________________________________________ SUPPORT MY WORK: PAYPAL: https://www.paypal.com/paypalme/savsays WEBSITE: https://www.savsaysofficial.com/

Join us for another one, as we what we do best; calling out racism, talking culture and going on Kangents (aka tangents). We talk #SerenaWilliams and the photo floating the internet that appears to show her in a lighter shade of brown than we may be used to seeing. A billboard in PDX aimed at the Black community that doesn't quite add up when we do the math. Although admittedly, neither of us are math whiz's outside of countin up these checks, ayeeee! #McDonalds employees in 15 states say "it's up and it's stuck" when it comes the cost of living vs their wages. This means #strike time and don't cross the salted fry line! We make sure the people understand a bit better about media headlines and trials, and how they work in terms of a defendant. It was never the George Floyd Trial! That bum Chauvin was on trial for killing George Floyd and not the other way around. As usual we are leaving being sophisticated to our listeners while we unrefined-ly talk amongst ourselves. Get your red cup and listen up!

In July 2011 a man named Dennis Costas called in sick to work. He told his employer he was suffering from sciatica. For the rest of the afternoon, he drank heavily, characteristic of a man with a serious drinking problem. Speaking to Dr. Richard Taylor, he said he couldn’t remember much from that day. “My recollection is very distorted…” he said. He took a nap at some point and “After that,” he explained, “I really don’t know what happened. All I can remember is putting out the fire. My vision was blurred. I heard a voice and I came out of the flat door. I went back in again and then out to the lobby. There was a fire in the living room, and I put water on it.” There was a lot he said he couldn’t remember from that afternoon, and into the early hours of the next morning. At 3.50am, police were called to a four storey low-rise apartment block in Upton Park, East London, by a resident who said they were awoken to banging on their door. When police arrived, residents were scattered across the carpark. Police ran to the top storey, where they saw a person walking towards them, like something out of a horror movie. One police officer said he had never seen anything like it before. The person had burns to their face and body, and the officer said: “For a split second, a feeling of unreality overcame me.” Eventually, the person gave her name as Sophia. She had arrived home at 3am and her former boyfriend had been waiting inside. He doused her in petrol. And lit a match. That man, she said, was Dennis Costas. A man who claimed he had no recollection of what had taken place. So, had Dennis been involved? And, why didn’t he remember it? As Americans watched the murder trial of Derek Chauvin unfold, after the killing of unarmed Black man George Floyd last year, several new cases of the police killing minorities – one as young as 13 years old – were unfolding. The United States is in the middle of an honest debate about the intersection of racism and policing, but reform for the sake of better race relations and more stable communities is elusive. In this episode, host Steve Clemons speaks with Nana Gyamfi, the president of the National Conference of Black Lawyers, and James Forman, Jr, a professor of law at Yale University, and finds that change is happening - slowly but surely. - Subscribe to our channel: http://aje.io/AJSubscribe - Follow us on Twitter: https://twitter.com/AJEnglish - Find us on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/aljazeera - Check our website: https://www.aljazeera.com/

It’s Women's History Month! To celebrate, What’s In It For Us Podcast is proud to feature all-women guest hosts for the entire month of March! Joining Dr. Christina Greer this week is Award-Winning Scholar, Accomplished Author, and Visionary Community Leader Dr. Khalilah L. Brown-Dean. The controversy and conversation around Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's interview with Oprah are taking over every media headline from the U.S to Great Britain. Tune in as Dr. Greer and Khalilah unpack the history of racism in the Royal Family and how colorism contributed to Meghan Markle's unfair treatment in the kingdom. The Derek Chauvin Trial is approaching but why is the media describing it as the George Floyd Trial? Chauvin is the officer who killed George Floyd by kneeling on his neck for 8 minutes and 45 seconds while being recorded by distraught Minneapolis citizens. The city of Minneapolis has been fortified and the national guard is on standby, but why weren't all these precautions in place before the insurrection on January 6th? Another topic to be tackled with urgency within the black community? Jury duty. It is important that black people are being fairly represented in the judicial system. This past Sunday marks the 56th anniversary of “Bloody Sunday,” where more than 500 demonstrators gathered on March 7, 1965 to demand the right to vote and cross Selma’s Edmund Pettus Bridge. They were met by dozens of state troopers and many were severely beaten. This will be the first time ever that this day will be remembered without the late Civil Rights leader John Lewis. With so much going on, we have to stop and take a moment to ask "What's In It For Us?"See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
