Josh is joined by The Rewind's Resident Conservatives Daniel Lima and Josh Brown as they travel back to 1970s New York for a double feature. First, (Beginning-1:05:20) they discuss "The Apprentice" and whether the film taught its audience enough about Donald Trump's origins to justify its existence, its depiction of attorney Roy Cohn and his influence on Trump, the performances by Sebastrian Stan and Jeremy Strong as Trump and Cohn and much more! Then, (1:05:20-End) both Joshes head to primetime and discuss Jason Reitman's "Saturday Night" including the extent to which the story of the first night of SNL kept them engaged despite what they know about the show's success, where the film possibly took more liberties than was necessary, the performances from the deep young cast including Gabriel LaBelle, Cooper Hoffman and Rachel Sennott and much more! Disclaimer: This was recorded two weeks before Election Day 2024, which is why there is not specific commentary on the results of the election or events in the two weeks leading up to the election. Edited and Produced by Daniel Lima.

It's a hell of a time for horror stories, and it seems like camp slashers are especially making a comeback. Josh Winning is out with his latest book, HEADS WILL ROLL. Set in a digital detox camp, it's a story of a sitcom star who gets cancelled for an off-color tweet, who decides to get away from the scandal for a little bit. What she's not aware of is that this may as well be called Camp Cancelled, and someone out there is carrying a deadly grudge.Josh is the fourth interview I've done since May where the author's name is Josh, which means I'll be taking a break from chatting with any more Joshes for a while. Apologies, other Joshes. This final Josh and I had a great chat about camp slashers, pop culture, getting cancelled, formatting a la Paul Tremblay, the increase in availability of marginalized author's stories, and more. Oh! We also spent a surprising amount of time discussing the movie Easy Rider.A final note for those of you who read these posts: I've recently submitted this podcast feed to YouTube Podcasts, so if you find your podcasts via YouTube, you can find the podcast feed there, in addition to my usual video posts on the channel. For you folks who like the YouTubes: Get full access to The ARC Party at www.thearcparty.com/subscribe
Which kind of Josh are you? It's the question on everyone's mind this week as John records in a foreign land (his parents' basement) and we see another man added to the Tournament of Champions invite list as Isaac Hirsch punches his ticket with another delightful week of play. Isaac also continues his great run of anecdotes and we get a surprise contender for "Anecdote of the Season" when Stephanie describes her unfortunate run-in with glow sticks. Plus, Emily has a unique week ahead at work due to being close to an adult toy trade show, we dive deep on the tales of Sinbad the Sailor, and Jeopardy! has a major scoring correction moment that leaves John and Emily dizzy with excitement. It's always a great time when we visit Brazos Valley Brewing in Brenham. This week Leo sat down with the two Joshes: Josh Bass (the Owner and Founder) and Josh Kahanek (the Sales Manager). Leo started off with Jam Session, a Session IPA with Mosaic and Comet hops. Brazos Valley's staff love great music, so they incorporate music lingo into some of their beer names - the rare beers are called B Sides. Some interesting beers were mentioned during our discussion about first beers, including Big Flats, a Walgreens exclusive back in the day, and the beer in a white can just labeled BEER in black lettering, which you can see at Houston's Beer Can House and at Fredonia Brewery's beer wall. Next, we discussed “the spectrum” of hazy beers while enjoying BVB's Hazy Does It. We also discussed hobbies, including disc golf and camping. And Josh K. gives the most unique answer to the question, what is your essential road trip thing? It was so much fun sitting down with Josh B. and Josh K. We love visiting Brazos Valley. They have a great outdoor area, and they often have food trucks, live music, and some killer soft pretzels. Their taproom is open Wednesday through Sunday. Check out their website to plan your trip. Thank you for having us, J.B. and J.K. Thank you for listening. Let us know what you think. We love receiving feedback. Cheers y'all!
