For their new LP, X’s Cigarettes After Sex are playing some of the world’s most iconic venues including Madison Square Garden, London’s O2, and the hallowed stage of the Kia Forum in Inglewood for two sold-0ut nights in LA. X’s is a little different from previous CAS albums. While those have primarily centered around a composite of different relationships, for X’s bandleader Greg Gonzalez captured the emotional arc of one important love affair that lasted four years. “Baby Blue Movie” is a down-tempo banger whose title references softcore adult films while the lyrics and melody feel like a warm embrace.
Entrevista con Greg Gonzalez de Cigarettes After Sex
«X's» macht die Drei in Cigarettes After Sex' Diskografie komplett.

Well hello there. This week I am privy enough to witness a private recording session with the band Cigarettes After Sex and the heavenly singing voice of Greg Gonzalez. This guy's incredible. But, this is Juskow in the City and nothing is normal so. . . of course, there's the Larry from Three's Company hijacking, a hold on my car, no sports bars open on Monday for Monday Night Football and everything becoming out of control expensive (as we all know). Yipes. BUT, these are all the ingredients that make a quality Juskow in the City episode. Hope you like. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.

Does your team understand what sustainable winegrowing is? Can they talk with your clientele about sustainability? We have made a great online course that will help anyone learn the basics of sustainability and the SIP Certified Program! And, do not worry, you do not need to be in the SIP Certified program to take advantage of this class and it only takes about 30 minutes. Welcome to Marketing Tip Monday with SIP Certified. We know customers are looking for wines labeled as sustainable. While our longer-form episodes help you learn about the latest science and research for the wine industry, these twice-monthly micro podcasts will help you share your dedication to sustainable winegrowing so you can show your customers that you share their values. Today we help you and your team talk about sustainability with your customers. Here's what's covered: What is SIP Certified? The SIP Smart course starts with a quick background on Vineyard Team's Sustainability in Practice (SIP) Certified program. This introduction will set the foundation for your team's understanding of what your certification represents. Experience The 3 Ps of Sustainability The SIP Certified Standards cover nearly 200 practices that protect the people and the planet. How do the hundreds of SIP Certified members implement these practices at their unique properties? In this part of the SIP Smart course, we interview six SIP Certified members to find out! Scheid Vineyards wanted to ensure their community had a place to get together and engage in community activity. Greg Gonzalez tells us about how they had part of their vineyard removed and transformed into a soccer complex for the community. The subject of water conservation is huge in agriculture! Steve McIntyre of Monterey Pacific gives a quick lesson on moisture monitoring practices to determine when and how much to irrigate winegrape vines. Have you ever seen a falconer at work? Here's your chance! In this video interview, Jake Messenger shows us how one man and one falcon can safely and humanely move thousands of starlings off vineyard properties. Wondering about how sustainable vines are managed to produce high-quality grapes? Mark Pisoni takes a truly curated approach to each individual vine at Pisoni Vineyards to decide what nutrients, pest management, and farming practices to use to ensure each plant grows the highest quality grapes. Reducing global warming emissions is a goal of every sustainable business. Samantha Aguilar shows us solar panels at Cambria Estate Winery that are used to provide, store, and introduce energy back into the grid. Now that we know how each individual vine is assessed, Mark Pisoni comes back to talk about the big picture of sustainable farming! Pisoni Vineyards' conservation plan looks at the entire ranch as a whole unit -- not just the areas under cultivation. Consumer Research Studies continue to show that consumers are seeking sustainable, ethically produced goods and services more than ever before. In this part of the SIP Smart course, your team can learn about recent research projects that gave us insights into how to help increase consumer awareness of sustainable wines. Are you talking about your sustainable efforts? Get Your Certificate! The SIP Smart course concludes with a brief quiz that will help test your team's new SIP Certified knowledge. Everyone who passes gets a certificate to show that they truly are SIP Smart! Why Stop Here? We have lots of great resources to help you talk about sustainability from buzz words to SIP Certified 101. Plus, play a game of Jeopardy with your team to make learning about sustainability fun. In episode eighty five of the Glow Journal podcast, host Gemma Watts talks to the founders of Youth To The People, Greg Gonzalez and Joe Cloyes.Cousins Greg Gonzalez and Joe Cloyes quite literally grew up in the beauty industry. What began as a hair salon, owned by their grandparents, grew to a line of professional aesthetics products that the family manufactured for and distributed to spas and salons right across the US. Greg and Joe grew up in the brand's factory, playing amongst the packaging peanuts as children before coming to work for the family business full time upon graduating from college. As their shared interest in the beauty industry grew, so too did their fascination with the wellness space and, in particular, the growing superfood movement. Youth To The People began as an idea, a kale based Superfood Cleanser, and was built out to a sustainably produced, vegan, three step skincare routine, created entirely in house.Youth To The People launched in 2015, and in December of 2021, L'Oréal finalised their acquisition of the brand as it clocked up a reported $50 million US in sales for the year. In this conversation, Greg and Joe share the incredible story behind their grandmother's brand and how she recovered after being left with nothing, why they felt it was worth taking an initial financial hit in pursuit of creating a sustainable company, and what the L'Oréal brand acquisition will (and won't) change for Youth To The People.Read more at glowjournal.comFollow Youth To The People on Instagram @youthtothepeopleStay up to date with Gemma on Instagram at @gemkwatts and @glow.journal, or get in touch at hello@gemkwatts.com See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information.

For skincare brand Youth To The People, the death of retail comes to what kind of store you're running. "I think the luxury stores, the specific stores, will actually do really well because people will want that customized, very succinct experience," said co-founder Joe Cloyes on the Glossy Beauty Podcast. "Whereas I think the bigger stores, people are realizing how easy it is to buy online." The company's own pop-up store in Los Angeles, which only lasted a few months until January of this year, was in the former camp, said Cloyes. He and his cousin (and fellow co-founder) Greg Gonzalez are still planning on opening their own space at a later date. Youth To The People also sells through Sephora, it's biggest partner, but "we want people to come in and generally walk into something unique," Gonzalez said. "When you walk into a strong retail environment, especially one that's specific to a brand, you feel the essence of that brand. You know it. There's something specific you can call out."
Earned: Strategies and Success Stories From the Best in Beauty + Fashion
In Earned's 10th episode, Conor sits down with Joe Cloyes, co-founder and CEO of sustainable superfood skincare brand Youth To The People. Inspired by his grandmother, who started her own skincare line as a mother of seven in 1963, Joe and his cousin Greg Gonzalez founded Youth To The People in 2015, and the brand has seen explosive growth since. We dive into YTTP's impressive growth trajectory and explore the roles that social media, and later a Sephora partnership, played in accelerating the brand's expansion. We also learn about the challenges of rapid growth, and hear why the brand decided to take on multiple rounds on investments. Joe shares how COVID-19 has shifted the brand's focus to be “completely digital,” and talks about how YTTP uses its growing social platform to share its voice on all things from skincare to social justice. Finally, we learn how the brand builds long-term relationships with content creators.

Cigarettes After Sex frontman Greg Gonzalez gives Kyle Meredith a ring to dive into the details behind the band's sophomore album Cry. The two get into how location has always been important to how he creates art. Gonzalez also points out that it's no coincidence that their two albums share a lot of the same aesthetics since his idea for the group has some pretty specific parameters. We also hear how cinema factors into his writing, his hopes to get into scoring and soundtracking in the near future, a penchant for writing sexual lyrics, and how Shania Twain, Selena, and Brooks & Dunn were all strong influences. Cigarettes After Sex is an evocative moniker, and it's brilliant that the El Paso, Texas group's sound is as vaporous, alluring, and nocturnal as they suggest. Greg Gonzalez started making music as Cigarettes After Sex in 2008. After nearly a decade of relative obscurity, the El Paso singer and guitarist released his debut album in June. The dreamlike ambient rock of the self-titled LP quickly won over fans and critics alike. Cigarettes After Sex joined us in the CPR Performance Studio this week before a headlining show at the Bluebird Theater. The band played four songs from its album and Gonzalez spoke with Jeremy Petersen about how moving to New York changed the trajectory of the band, receiving high praise from French singer Françoise Hardy and his aspiration to work on film soundtracks.
