Born and raised in a family of artists she discovered early her touch for creativity and the diversity of sound. Infected by her own creative urge it was not to be the last journey to musical fields. Influenced by Michael Jackson, Prince & Co, ALMA. discovered the electro dance music in the middle of the 90's. Fascinated by this new world she went to an innumerable number of events and gigs and was soon to rock the best raves as bartender, with more to come. Besides her greatest love, the music, also fashion plays an elementary role in Alma's life. As graduated fashion journalist she has sublimated yet several shootings and music videos with her style. After some trendy journeys and style councils ALMA. was attracted back to the dance floor. Clubs like the legendary „Kraftwerk“ or the green room of the cosy „Flokati“ shaped the thrilled Miss Dynamic from a musical perspective. The desire to make her own music was started through her friends that were part of the DJ scene. The enthusiasm grew and so she decided to turn her fascination for music into reality. With discipline and persistence she soon knew how to play the decks. Every Euro was invested in the black gold (vinyl). Meanwhile the blonde vamp owns a good sized and well assorted collection of discs. Encouraged by her technical skills and creative being ALMA. soon was to ascend the dj pulpit. With her own best harmonic style ALMA. fascinated both the organiser and the audience at her first gig at The Garden Club Munich. There she was Resident-DJ until closing 2010. After The Garden she was Resident-DJ at Munich's fast rising Club “Chaca Chaca” (closed since May 2012) and she had her own monthly night called “GOLDREGEN” with national and international underground bookings. Gigs around Germany, Austria and Swiss are now her weekend-business. Rave on Snow, Thaibreak and other festivals welcome her year by year... In 2015 she started her Residency at Munich's well known club HARRY KLEIN. From 2015 until 2016 she hosted a two month regular party called: “ain't no romance like goldance” at “Die Registratur” 2016 she changed her so far known DJ-name Alma Gold in ALMA. Her first release “Fuzzy Dream” has been signed on Lany Records (digital) in Spring 2011. The second “Diving Bell” has been published on Beatwax (vinyl and digital) October 2011. Christopher Kono - geschmackssichere Selektion, butterweiche Transitions und ein übermenschliches Gefühl für den richtigen Augenblick… 'nuff said? 1992 erblickte der waschechte Ostberliner im Stadtteil Hohenschönhausen das Licht der Welt. Fußball, Fahrrad & Doktorspiele im Sandkasten waren das Zentrum seines jugendlichen Kosmos bis er im zarten Alter von 7 Jahren mit Brooklyn Bounce seine Unschuld unwiederbringbar an die elektronische Musik verlor. Es vergingen die Jahre einer "normalen" Jugend: Zocken, BMX, Mountainbike und daraus folgend Hip-Hop und Rockmusik-Sozialisation. Niemand konnte zu diesem Zeitpunkt ahnen, dass ein gebrochenes Bein und die damit einhergehende Langeweile Chris dazu verleiten würden vollends in die Welt der elektronischen Musikkultur einzutauchen. Chris tauschte das Bike gegen Traktor und bald darauf Traktor gegen Turntables. Zwei Jahre beschallte er diverse Homepartys im Freundeskreis bis durch einen spontanen Gig auf dem Seelektrik-Festival die Jungs vom legendären Triebwerk-Magdeburg auf ihn aufmerksam wurden. Es folgten Bookings in Clubs wie Weekend, Tresor, MIKZ, VCF, Triebwerk MD, Magdalena, Süss war Gestern, Krach am Bach Festival, Diamantbrauererei MD uvm. wo er zusammen mit Headlinern wie Len Faki, Vril, Kollektiv Ost, Guido Schneider, Tanith, Andreas Henneberg, SoKool u.a. die Stage teilte. 2013 veröffentlichte Christopher Kono seine Debüt EP "Im @ Fucker Say What!" auf dem Label Berlin Aufnahmen sowie Single-releases auf Fruit Records, Vinylisme Records und BR Selections. Seine Tracks und Edits brachten ihm unter anderem den Support von Acts wie SoKool, Wankelmut u.a. Neben seinem Solo-Projekt betreibt er mit der Berliner Mischwerktanzen Crew das Radio Mischwerk.fm. Guido Schneider has been a prolific figure on Berlin's electronic music scene since the early 90's. A long-running friend of the club, the German producer has headlined for us many times before and is no stranger to playing anything from a 2 to 10 hour sets between London and Berlin. The visionary producer also brought his signature sound to our imprint, WCF with Kyle E's ‘Wavetable' Remix, due to be released on August 17th. Back in 2001 we can remember buying a Mixmag featuring a free covermount CD mixed by Timo Maas. The opening track on that mix was Ashtrax’s ‘Helsinki’, a gloriously lush electronica track which was uplifting and cosmic in equal doses: it really encapsulated exactly what people loved about forward thinking dance music. Forward to now, and Ashley Casselle (formerly one half of Ashtrax) is always making the sort of music which can make you dance and think at the same time. His recent output shines with a nod to the grand masters of Chicago House Music mixed with an ambience and atmosphere uniquely his own. This Summer a new track emerged and was introduced to the world on John Digweed's Transitions Show, 'Dayrise Stardust', featuring the voice of Nat King Cole, is perhaps a defining moment on this mix. Andrew Weatherall, Guido Schneider & Darius Syrosian have adorned their own podcasts, club sets and radio mixes with his new tracks, many of of which will see a release on the new Dayrise Enterprise label he's set up now. Casselle (as he's often known now) is a real veteran of the scene, and since the Noughties the producer/DJ has played at the world's most prestigious venues including Space in Ibiza, Giant in LA and Womb in Japan; toured the USA and Russia extensively; played on stellar lineups at the world's best events; had his own room at Bedrock, played at premium UK Summer events such as The Social Festival in Kent and made it into the ever controversial DJ Mag’s Top 100 DJ poll. He's even had his photograph in the National Portrait Gallery as part of a 'DJ coffee table book’. With this mix, the English selector has gone above and beyond to deliver one of the more intrinsic Balance Selections' journeys to date. With the help of a vocalist (the ever inquisitive Barbarella) drafted in especially for this mix, Casselle has managed to draw upon years of experience to craft something truly special. Trust us. A vinyl connoisseur who is living a somewhat techno fairytale. Andre Galluzzi’s career is on the verge of legendary status. Galluzzi’s DJ story started at 14 years of age. Over a quarter of a century later and the man in question is still performing week in week out and now recognised in the top echelon of house and techno artists. Running his own label, ARAS, which is the main outlet for his musical productions alsongside Dana Ruh and Matthew Dekay, the label enables the release of creativeness within Andre’s being whilst also shouldering the responsibility of pushing Galuzzi’s signature sound to the punters. Always known for being A DJ first and foremost, his productions have established a reputation as someone who is at the forefront of his craft with his passion for the dance music world evident in everything that he creates or curates.  As a producer, organic is the best way to describe Galluzzi’s style. Old school in nature, he has always trucked along vinyl records to his gigs since the start and the way he creates his music draws constant parallels. Live instruments and vocals are always included as nothing artificial will suffice. Heavily associated with the creative melting pot that is, he was former resident at the legendary Tresor, before moving on to Ostgut, the previous club of the infamous Berghain. With releases on Cocoon, Ostgut Ton and Cadenza, it’s safe to say Andre has done it all. We were privileged to have the man himself down recently for Circus, we caught up with him after to see what lies ahead. ----------------------------- Your set was recorded at Circus alongside Andrea Oliva and Yousef. You played 5am - 7am, how was your set?  I realy like Egg, fantastic soundsystem, nice people that know how to party hard but one thing I have to say - 2 hours play is a bit to short for me haha. For those that don’t know you used to be former resident at both Berlin’s Tresor and Osgut before it became the infamous Berghain. Techno on the whole has undergone a huge resurgence recently, what do you attribute this to?  To be honestly,I think techno and all the other genres are always there. Of course you have some periods where focus turns. It can be house today ,minimal ,electro or techno tomorrow. But it became a industry as well and clubs got an essential influence. If you run a techno club very sucessfully, hot for the moment, techno would be the weapon. Obviously having spent a fair bit of your career in Berlin you are well placed to see how the city has transformed over the last 2 decades. What do you think it is about Berlin that attracts so many DJs within house and techno? Well Berlin is a very open minded city. I always feel free in Berlin. You do what you want, You look like you want or be who you want. Berlin doesn’t judge today. I think it’s caused by its own heavy history, this place was attractive to many creatives. This found a seldom mix of art & nightlife. You’ve recently released your debut album ‘Alcatraz’. Having been a producer for so many years was it a conscious decision to wait this long to release this project? I did two albums with Paul Brtitsh on our former label Taksi in the ’90. Since then I wanted to do a further by myself. I was just always very focused on DJ’ ing, I’m now finding a perfect balance to handle both. Thing is, the more that you play, the more you know exactly what elements you want to hear on the turntables. So you became part of the development of music automatically. I promise, you will not have to wait further years for the next album ha! What were you trying to achieve with this album? I wanted to produce an album which is close to my DJ set´s. With tunes for all different moments you have in a night. warm up, the middle part, prime time and the trippy moments in the morning. My inspiration to every single track was that you play all of them haha. You play on vinyl during your sets. Would you say the art of Djing has been lost in recent years due to the amount of equipment readily available and the way people can get their music out there? What attracts you to playing on this form? I just love my vinyl. The sound, the touch ,seeing the covers. People asking for the tracks so you pass them the cover. I show records weekly at the shop where you meet a mass of colleagues and friends. This is pure communication. More, they are my instruments and after my gigs I have to clean them. This brings you in a very warm realationship with your music. You also run your own label ARAS, what were your original intentions for the label and what have you got planned? The idea for ARAS started in 2010 when I decided to produce an independent sound. If you produce for external labels, your meet the expectations of others. This leads to a mix in your own composition. I did some very nice pieces with DANA RUH and various artist releases as well. To place Alcatraz on ARAS is just a consequence of a long dream which finally comes true. And the upcoming tune is already in progress. And finally, anything else you’d like to shout about?  Well you see producing became essential to me. Indeed I did a further release alongside GUIDO SCHNEIDER called “Mario“ on COCOON Rec.
