Nick revisits the only time legendary actor Walter Matthau hosted Saturday Night Live, offering behind-the-scenes stories from a wild week at 30 Rock. From writers' room pitches and cast reactions to what actually made it to air, it's a full breakdown of a strange, memorable night. Highlights include John Belushi's Cold Open as Fred Silverman, Matthau's pants-dropping monologue tease, and a Killer Bees sketch filled with masturbation jokes. With no musical guest, Garrett Morris stepped up with Mozart, and the Cheeseburger guys made an appearance—alongside some edgy material that still got big laughs. Plus, learn which iconic sketch was originally written for Matthau but went to someone else. [EP 125]

Buffalo, Minnesota was a small town where everyone knew everyone's name, and that familiarity brought with it the kind of judgmental culture that could crush anyone who didn't fit the mold. At the top of the social pyramid sat the Preppies—the popular girls who ruled the school with their designer clothes, flawless skin, and new cars that appeared the day they turned sixteen. They had the power to make or break someone's high school experience, and for the longest time, Cheyenne Clough found herself under their scrutinizing gaze.Cheyenne wasn't a part of the popular crowd, nor was she an outcast. She floated somewhere in between, a girl who could get along with everyone but didn't need to be the center of attention. At just fifteen, Cheyenne discovered she was pregnant. At odds with her mother over how to raise the child, Cheyenne made the bold decision to move out. She found a small apartment in Maple Lake, determined to build a life for herself. Her new living situation came with its own set of complications, but at least she had a support system. Her roommates were Callie Anderson, a 19-year-old with a warrant out for arrest, and Natasha Brandenburger, a 33-year-old nurse and tattoo artist. Cheyenne felt like she had found a new family. The three women—along with their boyfriends—shared the apartment, and for the first time in a long time, Cheyenne felt safe. She felt supported. She finally belonged. But as time went on, cracks began to form in this new family dynamic.Sources: https://www.investigationdiscovery.com/video/mean-girl-murders-investigation-discovery-atve-us/minnesota-vicioushttps://maplelakemessenger.com/2018/06/benson-jensen-get-40-years-for-2016-murder-of-cheyenne-clough/https://www.annandaleadvocate.com/news/5927/four-charged-in-clough-murderhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=krx2qlJe-hUSend us a textEmail Residue: residuepodcast@gmail.comFind RESIDUE online:Instagram: @residuepodcastTik Tok: @residuepodcast Facebook: Residue:A True Crime Podcast Credits: RESIDUE is Hosted/Produced/Researched/Edited by Chrissy Champagne THEME SONG: "Dance Of Death" by Purple Planet Music collection written and performed by Chris Martyn and Geoff Harvey. Show Notes Episode 473: IT'S THE KILLER BEES This week Host Dave Bledsoe had a terrible dream that he was being attacked by bees only to discover he was drunkenly taking a piss on a light socket. (Again.) On the show this week we examine a moment in our history when Americans were convinced their country was being overrun on our southern border, but with bees. Killer bees. Along the way we rediscover why Dave is so messed up about sex. (Again, he tells this story at least once a year.) Then we dive right into why bees? (Honey is yummy.) We examine the importance of honey bees in the past and present. We meet a suspiciously German sounding scientist in Brazil with an interest in genetic manipulation. (But with bees.) And we learn how his experiments go horribly wrong. (Again, talking about bees.) From there we follow the Africanized Honey Bees north to the United States and talk about the strange cultural fixation that came ahead of them. Our Sponsor this week is The Bee In Your Car who wants you to calm down and focus on driving. We open with Elliot Gould in a pretty racist SNL skit from the 1970's and close with a love song to a Bee. (Or half of one anyway.) Did you know most honeybees you find in the wild in California are actually the famous, so-called "killer bees"? Oh, but you protest, they didn't kill you. Quite right. These bees, while defensive, probably don't deserve the name. Find out more about where these bees came from and how they might help farmers solve the crisis of honeybee colony collapse.

From secret hideaways to rooms-with-a-view, sacred spaces to hidden gems, we're taking you on a cross-Canada tour of the secret spots you go to feel more like yourself. When Ryan Grobety, Robin Frend, Dave McGowan and Trevor Dineen parted ways in 1989, they closed the door on their “Killer Bees” kid clubhouse as well. But now, 35 years later, they are reuniting to see if the cubbyhole under the stairs still exists…but first they have to convince a complete stranger to let them inside. Now or Never listeners share their favourite secret — and not-so-secret — spots they go when they need to escape.Melissa Hafting goes birding nearly every single day, but as a biracial woman she hasn't always felt welcome in those spaces. She shares how birding has helped her through difficult moments, and how she's fighting to make it safe and accessible for all. For the past seven years, an underground street artist known only as "Winnipeg Waldo" has been putting up images of the iconic character all over his city. The challenge: hanging them in secret spots that everyone can see, but no one can steal — without getting caught.Melissa Fundira gets a taste of her past self – by going to a secret party to relive the days when she was free and spontaneous – before adulting came along. And if you're looking for Jaydin Nungaq, you'll likely find him in the corner of his tiny Iqaluit bedroom making music. Hear how he's using music to express himself and tell the world about the challenges he and his peers are facing.
Lance Davis and his team extract and relocate not only infestations of honeybees, but also swarms of tens of thousands of aggressive and dangerous Africanized “Killer Bees.” While Killer Bees are extremely dangerous in swarms, Africanized “Killer Bees” are actually a savior to our world. Bee populations are in peril on the planet. Killer Bees are more impervious to climate change and predators than regular honeybees, and they replicate as much as 17 times per year, versus regular honey bees which replicate 2-3 times per year. So, the Killer Bees pollinate our food supply at an enormously more powerful rate, which in turn feeds animals, birds, insects and people.Become a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/arroe-collins-unplugged-totally-uncut--994165/support.

This week, excitement about Pittsburgh's potential offensive hasn't been this high since the days of Pre-Season Pickett. In fact, a new scheme is so potent, it's being compared to a world-breaker. Looking for a campy horror fix? Learn if “The Deadly Bees” buzzes with entertainment or stings with disappointment. Tune in for scares, laughs, and maybe even a new favorite cocktail!
So, the Killer Bees pollinate our food supply at an enormously more powerful rate, which in turn feeds animals, birds, insects and people.Become a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/arroe-collins-like-it-s-live--4113802/support.
On the 50th episode of the 24 Inch Podcast (Season 4 Episode 5), Steve Bennett and Dave Rowlands take a deep dive into Saturday Night's Main Event from 11-28-1986. On this night, Hulk Hogan defends the WWF title against Hercules. At the top, Paula is back. Paula explains why she missed the last show, talks about her dance recital, and has a few emails she would like to read (one is just her trying to say she fell off a zip-line without saying it). After the break, Steve brings on Dave and welcomes him to the show. Dave, like usual, has mayhem to report. After our update on all things Hollywood, the guys give the bio of Hercules. Then, Dave tells us what the Hulkster was up to in November of 1986. Steve reads the news from November of 1986 while Dave cracks wise and adds his thoughts on a month filled sports news, awards shows, and a song neither of us had ever heard of. Steve and Dave break down the entire card from SNME VIII, including a heel vs. heel match, the Killer Bees vs. The Hart Foundation, and a showcase match for Koko B. Ware. Finally, Steve and Dave break down the huge main event of Hercules vs. Hulk Hogan for the WWF Heavyweight Championship. Also on this episode, Steve and Dave read listener emails and comments from our facebook page and announce the topic for the 51st episode of the podcast. The Killer Bee reign began with a gritty posse cut and transformative debut album Enter The Wu-Tang: 36 Chambers. On Black Friday 2023, HARD2EARN commemorated the 30th anniversary of Wu's 1993 intro with a live conversation at Brooklyn's historic Billie Holiday Theater (The Billie).
